That musical moment when you're straining to hear a familiar tune through the din of a crowded brewery – it's a peculiar joy only music lovers understand. Miss Panic turned lunch at a popular hangout into an impromptu "Name That Song" challenge, picking out Rush's iconic drum patterns and struggling to place Bob Dylan's distinctive voice amid the chaos.

Our conversation wandered through musical evolution, contrasting bands that maintain their essence through change (like Lady Gaga) with those who seem to lose their musical identity entirely. We reiterate that we love artists that evolve and experiment, but fans can tell when artists produce work merely to fulfill contractual obligations, and we can feel that disconnect immediately.

The K-pop world has been buzzing with noteworthy developments. We discussed the fraudulent emails targeting JYP Entertainment fans with malware – a reminder to be vigilant online. BE:FIRST's US tour faced several cancellations due to "scheduling conflicts," leaving fans wondering about the real story. Meanwhile, XG continues their meteoric rise with a triumphant Coachella performance amid their grueling 47-show world tour.

Most significantly, JUST B member Bain made history as the first Korean idol to officially come out as gay during their Los Angeles concert. His powerful statement – "You are seen, you are loved and you were born this way" – before performing Lady Gaga's anthem marks a meaningful moment of visibility in an industry where such openness has been challenging. As we noted, "How he wants to live his life" has no bearing on his talent or the group's music.

We wrapped up celebrating Jackson Wang's collaboration with Number_i, delighting in their playful social media interactions that show genuine friendship forming through music. These connections remind us why we love discussing music – it's about the sounds, yes, but also the human stories behind every note.

Speaker 1

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Elixir with me Sarah.

Speaker 2

Ann, miss Panic.

Speaker 1

Miss Panic again. Alright, we're back to Miss Panic.

Speaker 2

I was hearing some bass outside and I'm like, who is that? What kind of song is?

Speaker 1

it. Someone came rolling into the complex Coming in rolling in with some boom booms.

Speaker 2

I'm like what is that? Which song is that we were doing okay. So family and I went to a uh one, oh amherst, don't make it hadley hadley. Most popular pubs, breweries, let's say the breweries.

Speaker 1

Oh, okay, yeah.

Speaker 2

And you know which one I'm talking about? Do I Brewery? It's on University Drive. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, All right.

Speaker 1

The Hangar. Oh okay, I just didn't want to say names. Well, no, I couldn't remember because they've changed the name of it. Oh yeah, because it used to be Alice Brewing Company.

Speaker 2

So the hangar, so we were there enjoying some lunch, but it's a hangar, it's packed. There's sports gears. There was Red Sox in one corner. There was, I think the Heat was also, game was on, and it's a sports bar you know, so everybody likes to just go over there for lunch and hang.

Speaker 2

You know you get the university, college people, the families, the bros and the, you know the, the friends and whatever. And but there was music in the background and um, so we made it into a game to see which song it is, if we can catch the song within the chaos of people talking and laughing and whatever yeah, yeah so I was like no, I like this.

Speaker 2

Okay, next song. We're like really like trying to pay attention and listening to music and lyrics and drums, uh, family, uh the they like rush. Uh, family, uh, the they like rush. So okay, yeah, yeah, just some drum beats and I'm like what is that? And they go, it's rush. And I'm like how can you? I'm like I'm trying to listen the when I, when I got it was when getty started singing I was gonna say yeah, getty, you can always tell if it's not from the music itself.

Speaker 1

The minute Geddy opens his mouth, you're like oh, I know who this is Exactly.

Speaker 2

But you know, neil was a very iconic drummer. They love Neil, so they just from the drum beats I'm like really Wow, okay, and so on and so forth yeah, and I think that we had a problem with one song that we're like who is this, who is this?

Speaker 2

and I was like, even with the voice, I'm like, really, I can really get it from the voice, but it was like I was having a hard time and it's because we never heard, uh, this song from this artist and it was from um, oh my goodness, now I'm drawing a blank, oh my god, I forgot, and that was the one that picked it up anyways you picked it up from the voice from the voice, but the voice was sung. It was a younger, or his voice. Oh okay, so that's why I couldn't get it.

Speaker 1

So a solo person yes, rock and roll or oh, my.

Speaker 2

God, I'm going to kill. I'm just going to kick myself. When I remember. All I remember is the song how Does it Feel?

Speaker 1

How Does it?

Speaker 2

Feel. I just remember him just seeing that line. How does it feel. How does it feel I just remember him just seeing that, that, that line. How does it feel?

Speaker 1

Oh, oh Tom.

Speaker 2

Petty. No, no, it wasn't Tom Petty. I know.

Speaker 1

Bob Dylan yes, okay, no, you want to know why? It's because I associate them together because they sound alike and they work together a lot. Yes, but yeah, sound alike and they work together a lot. Yes, but yeah, okay.

Speaker 2

How does it feel? Yeah, so I was like, but it wasn't that song played, it was another song that we never heard of, oh really. So I was like who is this? But, then, because of his voice and he does that I was like oh, it isn't, it's Bob Dylan, the family's like oh my God, it is, it is their family's like oh my god, it is, it is. I was like. But when I was like what is this?

Speaker 1

song, like it was one that it was not popular, okay, well, not popular in the well pop music sense, meaning like radio play. Let's say not much radio play, that's pretty much what I heard it.

Pink Floyd's Evolution Discussion

Speaker 2

I'm not really a fan of his yeah you know, I'm all right with his. You know, you know, no, um, but there was one that, uh. So pink floyd was playing, but it was like the late 90s pink floyd, which is completely different yes, it is and the family was saying let's listen to like the early pink floyd. And I'm like you know, I don't think I ever heard early ping floyd and it was this album from 1968.

Speaker 1

Wow, sid barrett was still.

Speaker 2

Yes, yeah, because, of course, the genius was there you know when he was not there. It it's wow. I was just like what happened Like this is like amazing.

Speaker 1

Yeah, blown, blown. Yeah, the style was very, very different. Yep, with the earlier Pink Floyd stuff, right, it was sort of strange. They did slowly transition, like you could still hear elements of it for a little while after he left and sort of gilmore took over and then, like you said, by the 90s, it was something completely different. I was like this isn't pink floyd, right. I was like I know it's pink, but it's not Pink Floyd.

Speaker 2

Right, it didn't it. Just I know, bands evolve, everybody evolve but, it was just like I still don't hear the essence of Pink Floyd in there, Right.

Speaker 1

Yeah, cause that's we. We talk about that all the time, we like our artists to do something different, but it was like it was just a completely boom boom, not even, like you said, traces of what they used to be. So, because usually, you know, you can still get that sort of general feel. You're like you know it's their vibe and you can still gel with that music, but like, yeah, the, the changes, I mean god, the. Their career spanned a long time, though so it was bound to.

Speaker 1

But yeah, no, I I know I know what family was saying, because I was sort of like there's evolving and then there's like we're just not even the same people anymore.

Speaker 2

No, yeah, definitely different. Like, yeah, like Lady Gaga have evolved. You know he has gone through some transitions, but she has evolved now that with this new album, wow.

Speaker 1

But there's still elements to it that that is Lady Gaga. Yeah, right, yeah, there's just these things. It's not just the voice, it's not just the dance element or whatever to the style of music. There's just something else still there that you're like oh yeah, this is Lady Gaga, but she's doing something new and exciting, right. And I think what it was was that the transition was so. They went from such an experimental, crazy sound to something that was sort of generic. So I was like it's not really a. I didn't. There wasn't anything dynamic about the change that happened.

Speaker 2

No.

Speaker 1

Like it was almost like they didn't even want to be doing it, right, and that was the problem with it. Like, and you can tell when artists are sort of not really into doing something because you don't feel the music from them you don't get the it's the energy and the excitement out of it.

Speaker 2

Yeah I know we're not talking about asian artists, but I'm gonna bring another example you ever heard of skinny bubby you?

Speaker 1

have heard of skinny bubby.

Speaker 2

Yes you know, I mean please, is one of. I want to say this group is one of the godfathers of like industrial music, but one owned, because you know there's so many different of industrial sounds, but for their sound, wow, they're pioneers. When they said we're breaking up their last album, it was just you can tell, it was just all thrown in there together.

Speaker 1

Well, it was probably. We had a contract to do five albums. This was the last one.

Speaker 2

We just got to put something out yeah, yeah, and you can feel it and you can hear it like wow, all right, no effort, all right. Maybe five, ten years from now may appreciate it, you know. But yeah, it's like you, as a last hurrah, you would be expecting like a grand sound. Nah, they're just like fuck it. Beep boop, boop, bop. Okay, we're done. You know it felt like that you know you were hoping that to get like an emotion of like oh, I'm so sorry we're leaving.

Speaker 1

We'll be like oh no, well, that that's usually indicative of, like I said, a contract that they were not happy with and in problems within the band, creative differences and whatnot. People being like you know, I just don't want to work with you anymore, but we have to do this album. So yeah, bum bum, bum bum.

Speaker 2

There you go. That's my part and that was their thing. You know you work around. Both of them were already like, yeah, we're gonna like we're done, I can't hang with you. Can I look at the police?

Speaker 1

oh my god, oh wow, yeah, that that was the case, like too many egos whoa but they managed to briefly put everything aside to do a tour one year yep went to check it out, I was like there's some tension up on that stage and then they stopped working together.

Speaker 2

Yeah, just like I can't deal with you.

Speaker 1

It's just like I want to kill you I think that's sort of what happened with pink floyd too too many talents and not enough people willing to just be like tell me what to do, I'm good, right, you know, like everybody wants to be the boss and nobody wants to do the work Exactly.

Speaker 2

Or it's like how come you don't let me do this sound? Why don't you let me do this keys? It's like no, it doesn't go, it sucks. Don't go on my song, your song. We were working on this song together. Me me me, me, me, It'll break loose. It's all about money. All of a sudden, oh, you get more money because you got writing credits, but you know oh my god anyway, why? How did we end up with?

Speaker 1

I don't know, we were talking about the evolution of pink floyd when you didn't, you know? Oh my god, recognize bob dylan on the listening to music at the restaurant. I don't know, it was our game.

Speaker 2

It was like guess that song between the crowd. It was a cool, it kept us entertained oh yeah, no, because we're like oh my god, what is? I wonder what people were like, looking at us like all puzzled.

Speaker 1

I was going to say they're like what is wrong with the people at that table? They're not talking and they're all looking funny.

Speaker 2

They're all looking like at the speaker and they're trying to concentrate on that. Oh, at that same place, they make canned mojitos and it was good. Oh, really, at that same place they made canned mojitos and it was good. Yeah, they brew their own mojito. Yes, girl, I was having one and I'm like I gotta tell this to Sarah because it was delicious really I'll have to check it out.

Speaker 1

I downed it, it was refreshing more refreshing than the ones we had when we went to I can't wait to go back.

Beware of JYP Scam Emails

Speaker 2

I've been telling to family about that restaurant. Now they're like we want to go. I'm gonna try. It sounds good, oh oh. Public announcement because I just I was telling sarah, I was uh stumbled upon this article oh yeah, because um, jyp awards against fraudulent emails impersonating its legal representative. So apparently there's some scammers out there trying to uh lure fans or uh whoever are out there that are jyp fans. I wonder how did this happen? You know where did they get these emails?

Speaker 2

so, anyways, uh jyp and now jyp jyp on april 26th, the uh issue a following warning uh, that they are, um, there was some recent circulation of unauthorized emails impersonating our legal representative, which is like hello, and apparently just telling these people that, um, they have violated all of copyright and intellectual property rights. So you know, let's say, if a fan gets this email, it's like what, what did I do you?

Speaker 1

know right, well, they're, they're playing on everybody who's like. We just went to that exhibit and we were taking photos and they told us we could take photos and then we post them to our social media. They're, they're hoping to catch people who are posting things maybe they shouldn't, you know like, like all the videos that people take at concerts that you're not supposed to blah, blah, blah, right, and they're hoping that someone that gets what this mass email will be like oh, oh my God, that video I posted on my Instagram or my Twitter or whatever. They found it and they're going to sue me because you know what I mean. Yeah, there are some people who might be worried enough that they would be like oh my God. So I got to click on this thing and find out what I have to do Exactly and then boom, I guess, apparently there's a malware on it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, so if you get the email and there's a link and if you click on that link you'll be infected with malware. So wait, jyp is just saying do not see, do not click on that thing.

Speaker 1

If you do see the email, delete it's not them yeah, well, I was gonna say I I also think they they probably don't just send you an email, yeah you know what I mean, because how would they?

Speaker 1

have your email to begin with, exactly, and it says that it's mostly to people with personal addresses at a Gmail account. Yeah, they've got a little parenthesis thing that they've been sent to personal addresses with a domain, like at gmailcom, so it could be anything, but that's something you got to think of like how would they have gotten your email?

Speaker 2

Right, anything. But that's something you got to think of, like how would they have gotten your email right if you're part of a fan club? So they think, maybe because you know I'm part of fan club. Blah, blah blah.

Speaker 1

They took my information because blah, blah, blah is on the jyp.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, yeah that's true, or am I under jyp fan club? You know?

Speaker 1

whatever, that's why they're like yeah, but still, you know still, I'd wait for someone to show up at my door with a subpoena. Then I'd take it seriously like, oh damn, they sent the authorities. Okay, but until usually with stuff like when they think that you're violating a copyright, they just delete. Like your image or whatever gets removed from whatever site you had it on. They usually don't go after you unless you start bad mouthing their artists or actually stealing images and claiming they're yours. You know, like the professional headshot stuff and being like, yeah, I took this photo so and so, but that's that's crazy that now you know someone out there is like oh, there's a lot of k-pop fans out there, let's see if we can scam them.

Speaker 2

They'll do anything for their idol you know, yeah, exactly I think also like around pandemic time there was also a scam of uh catfishing. There were like people impersonating to be their favorites, oh yeah, and dming people, you know oh, that still happens.

Speaker 1

Yeah, because you know I got.

Speaker 2

Apparently it was really a rise around pandemic time because you know, quarantine time, because everybody was home and they're like, oh my god, my favorite.

Speaker 1

Well yeah, no everybody was mentally vulnerable we first kept putting out things like the artists do not have personal little accounts that you can. Yeah, I was like I wouldn't have thought so because actually just the other day, jk sent me a message saying that I do so much for army. I was like, I like post once a year, what? Yeah, exactly, it was a a thing I had, I had made a comment on on something like a month ago and, yeah, someone saying they were jk wanted to thank thank me for all of my hard work with army. I was like I was like, well, you know thanks whoever you are, but I am not accepting your invitation for anything. I'm not.

Speaker 2

Oh my goodness, yeah, wow, the scammers. They know, yep, they know where to get the fan's heart and you know you're gonna be.

Speaker 1

Oh my god, yes, I love you, thank you yeah, well, I mean, you know, because even even if you make friends with people on these things, you know.

Speaker 2

Right.

Speaker 1

Like don't give out your personal information, don't you know? Like you've got to be careful?

Speaker 2

Yes.

Speaker 1

We lucked out, we worked together, we met at work prior to knowing we were interested in the same things. So then we were able to just turn our friendship into a hey, and we have all of these other things in common.

Speaker 2

Exactly.

Speaker 1

We knew each other, we saw each other every day. We can trust each other to be like. You buy the concert tickets and I book the hotel and you drive and we'll be, you know, Right. But like, yeah, Right, Just some random person who's like, oh hey, I'm going to be in the city too. You want to hook up? Like yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2

Exactly. I'm not so sure, even the ones who just like meet online and you're like, oh yeah, let's, you know, let's get in a hotel together but never met, just only online.

Speaker 1

No.

Speaker 2

No, you know, if you guys are fans, meet at a central location, so right, some pub, restaurant or in front of the venue, you know?

Speaker 1

exactly hang.

Speaker 2

Yeah, if you guys get really click on the friendship there, because not all fans don't click you know, oh no, definitely. So then, go beyond that. Oh, let's just do this together and yeah, well, that's.

Speaker 1

I was gonna say, yeah, you don't have to distrust everybody, right, but like, like we made mutual friends through various um, event, club stuff, projects. Yeah, we met, we met people places right, like central public right, and got together, hung out and now they're actually friends. We go to several events, right, not necessarily together, but like we meet up and hang out, yeah, and that's that's cool, but like you want to do that a couple of times before you trust them exactly, it's like dating yeah, exactly it's like dating, come on it's true, the end result is here to have fun together.

Speaker 2

Well, not the xex. So if you fall in love with each other, that's what you know, right, that's your thing.

Speaker 1

But but like online, anybody can, can be anything and anybody it can always sound pretty until you meet in person and it's like, oh no. No, well, not even like, just trustworthy, like can you, you know? So, as long as you're just like, we just met up for lunch with people and then we were like, oh, we're all going to show, cool, yeah. Hey, you know, pick and choose your interactions with other people out online, and that's what that's what this whole thing is like.

Speaker 1

Be sure you know. Especially if you know you didn't post any pictures or anything like, why would their legal team be calling you contacting? You emailing you, you know, and even if you did just take your pictures down and wait and see what else happens, Exactly Delete everything you have or remove. Yeah delete everything you have. You're laughing everything you have.

B1ST US Tour Cancellations

Speaker 2

You're laughing well you know, like I said, I'm guilty of stuff. I didn't post them publicly. No, let me. I want to say yes, I do have my own, you know, little videos or pictures and whatever, and it's just those for, for my own, you know they can be leaked after I'm, you know, not around, you know, yep, uh, anyways. So, uh, oh. So sarah and I we were talking about beefers are coming to the us, yes, but I didn't hear the announcement like weeks or maybe a month later.

Speaker 1

And it was announced on.

Speaker 2

January 20th. So Sarah and I were like we even Sarah was like. All I heard was just like they were thinking of coming to the US, but with no dates. So her and I were like okay waiting, and waiting Like when is this going to happen.

Speaker 2

And then one of the besties are like oh, by the way, best uh b first is going to the us, but uh, they're not going to boston, but they're going to new york. And I'm like, when did? When did they make them? I think so. When I received the you know the message from bestie, I thought it was announced that day and I just missed it. But no, it was announced on january 20th and I was mentioning to sarah. Well, how come we missed this?

Speaker 2

yeah, they're just not making enough promotions for the boys. There's hardly anything and I heard nothing. And usually on the algorithm, when you're following somebody and at least interacts on some of the posts, you will get more announcements. I did not receive anything until somebody you know say, hey, there are some told me about it.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

Because I was like when is this going to happen? So, so, so they're coming to the us, um, of course, uh, they cancel how many dates? I think it was three, three dates yeah so now we're like what's gonna happen?

Speaker 1

yeah, and they just said scheduling conflict, so we don't know what that means. Do we even mention?

Speaker 2

right. So sarah and I were like, are we gonna, are we able to go to new york? Because now they're gonna be granting those who were canceled tickets to go to new york.

Speaker 1

You know was a complimentary ticket yeah, I think, chicago, philadelphia and dc, because I remember thinking, oh, if you're in philly and DC, new York's not too bad, but Chicago that's kind of a haul, yeah. But yeah, so they were, for, I guess, people who were sure they were going to go, they were going to get tickets to New York instead. So we were like, oh yeah, great, now that means we're never going to get tickets oh yeah, great.

Speaker 2

Now that means like we're never gonna get tickets exactly, so we're like all right, uh, I don't know what's gonna happen. Uh, should we wait for tickets?

Speaker 1

uh, like I don't know well, we don't know why you can say scheduling conflict, but there might have been another reason for those tickets not, you know, those concerts to get canceled right. So like is something else gonna come up?

Speaker 2

and right. Were there not many sales? Yeah, we don't know. You know it was like they didn't sell out because I was looking, so I know there's other things going on within the group yeah, well, that's what I was like to even mention that like, like, on top of everything else I'm sure fans know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2

I'm not. We're not gonna go into details to that, because I have a feeling more is gonna be developing out of those that, oh yeah, yeah, I'm sure so, because already I saw it on three different quote-unquote news sites. The tabloid sites, yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and then actually a couple of reputable things, but I was like everybody has a slightly different version and there's more to one story than another.

Speaker 2

Oh geez.

Speaker 1

So I don't know. You know we should maybe wait, okay, till we know for sure what's going on with it. That is fine with me, but it is basically yes there is a little bit of trouble in Paradise for the group. How's that? Okay, but I don't want you know I until we know for sure, really, what's going on yeah, this is very fresh. It's very fresh news you know, the company made a statement but, like I said, there are three different articles that I read. All had varying stories.

Speaker 2

That's very tricky, and yeah, no, yeah, yeah, we'll wait on that. Yep, definitely wait on that. So, uh, let's see what's gonna happen with new york. Yeah, we'll give more details, you know uh, it's, but I think that leaves new york is like the only east coast yeah, show happening right.

Speaker 1

That's why they wanted to did they have one in florida? I don't, uh, tampa, maybe they've got one in tampa, so maybe they've got two on the east coast, but still, yeah, anyways, we'll wait and see what happens exactly, and good news for my girl group, xg.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you want to go on.

XG's Success at Coachella

Speaker 1

Tell us about that one, miss sierra well, is this about their success at coachella? Yeah, yeah, they had a apparently an amazing reception, especially with their week two performance at coachella closing out, so we're psyched for them because they are great and, considering how many people have gotten panned by Coachella audiences, it's really good to know that they were well-received and that they did a good job themselves. So congratulations to the girls for A going b kicking butt.

Speaker 2

I know, that's awesome oh my god, this, this group like that, was like hardly heard of right and for some others. All of a sudden they started booming. They had a sold out shows here in the us. Then they still touring. The girls are still touring. I'm like, please, I was, I keep looking at their schedule and I'm like, please, give them some rest. You know they're going, they're just touring after tour, after tour. Um, then coachella, yeah, and I know they're gearing up for a new, uh, new music, and but so I have not seen them stop. They're going and going and going. So I'm like I'm very happy for that, because this major exposure yeah, but I'm worried about their health, you know I'm worried about their health.

Speaker 1

Well, I'm sure if they're working on new music, that means they'll'll have a little bit of downtime I hope so. Working on stuff, you know, being in the studio, recording, taking it sort of easy, you know, right, it's still working, but it's not the high-paced touring and filming. Wait a minute, oh I see. And wait a minute, oh I see. Oh, okay. This, this appearance at coachella, is in the midst of their own actual world tour 47 shows across 35 cities in 18 countries oh see, I told you, their schedule is cray cray.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's why I'm like can you give them?

Speaker 1

a break. I was like wait, I just saw this here whoa, yeah girl, their creek creek reschedule yeah, well, their final show is tokyo dome, may 14th, so they'll be able to and give them at least six months. Yeah because that can relax.

Speaker 2

That schedule is nuts right, it is wow.

Speaker 1

So congratulations, yeah again to the girls.

Speaker 2

That's yeah, yeah, amazing just yeah, whoa sorry.

Speaker 1

I'm checking out some of the pictures too from I like it looks like they were explosive on stage.

Speaker 2

Yes, yes, I'm so mad that when we're gonna see them in new york, because that would have been like one of the concerts to see them- yeah, definitely gonna get tickets stupid ticket master, I know, well, this is things up.

Speaker 1

This is sort of like the you know story of our lives. Recently we're like we want to go see this.

Speaker 2

No chance, no but we got some good news other good news, other good news. This was good news, yes well, we're just bickering about the bad news not getting tickets, but this one is um the group uh, just bees bane comes out as gay at a concert and shares a post on instagram.

Speaker 2

Yeah, so yay. He was uh very happy to tell their fans, you know. So this is a report that I'm reading from Soompi Just Be's BAINE has become the first idol group member of Korean nationality to officially come out as gay. On april 22nd, bane came out on stage during the los angeles concert of just b's world tour. Just odd, telling fans I'm proud to be part of the lgbt community. Before signing lady gaga's born this way, before singing Lady Gaga, I was going to say signing, no singing. I'm sorry I'm not reading face to face to the computer.

Speaker 2

I'm like is it singing or signing? So Bane took to his Instagram to personally share his thoughts. On coming out, he wrote I want to share something real with you. I'm proud to be a part of the LGBTQ plus community as a gay person, and my queen, Lady Gaga, show me that being different is beautiful. To anyone out there who's part of the LGBTQ plus community or still figuring it out, this is for you. You are seen, you are loved and you were born this way.

Speaker 1

Oh my God, yeah, yeah, no, I I saw that. I think I was home visiting my parents yeah I was like scrolling through stuff. I was like whoa what?

Speaker 2

yes, I mean x order was blowing up with him. Just be, just be and bane and bane and just be, and I'm like what, what's happened? I'm like because you know now something like that happening, that you know k-pop in the industry blowing up like that, and I'm like what just happened, I know you know, but this is awesome, it is, it is, and what I like about this is like the group members are like you be, you, you know, this is who you are. There's. There's no like. No, you're, you're still our bro. You still, you know part of this group. You, you know we're a family.

Speaker 1

It's so cool yeah, I'm sure he probably told them. Just so you know I'm doing this. Not sure how maybe the company promoter felt, but I'm sure he talked to his bandmates and said well, you know this is what I'm going to do.

Speaker 2

Kudos to the company, because you know, some companies are like um yeah, no. You know, yeah. You know, still in Korea they're still having, you know, this community LBTQ. You know in korea they're still having you know this community lbtq. You know they have a problem. I mean it's not like the us is any easier, but yeah, it's still. It's much better than other countries, let's say, because you know being gay or loving who you want to love is still you know um taboo in a lot of places.

Speaker 2

Yeah, boy yeah, you get killed, you can get beat up, and no, that's not right.

Speaker 1

So I'm very happy yeah, no, no, that very brave of him and very just. Yeah, a good example for other people to know, like you're not alone, and I know that that's the community tries to to promote. That it's just a difficult battle for them to be fighting because so many people just, I don't know, can't let everybody live their lives like, right, my sister and I, it's fine, we we talked about this just recently and I wonder if it's fine we talked about this just recently. I wonder if it's because I was talking about the article. But like, how does how he wants to live his life affect you in any way? If you're allowing somebody else's lifestyle to like ruin your day, you really need to find a new hobby Because, like, I don't know, it just really doesn't have any bearing on you, you know, other than unless you're in a relation with relationship with him and he suddenly springs it on you.

Speaker 2

Yes, it affects you, but like, yeah, you as a fan, or or you know or just as someone completely unassociated oh yeah, or not even a fan, because you know people who are not fans are gonna be like what?

Speaker 1

well, that's what I mean, that's so. That's what we were talking about. Like on the day-to-day what does it matter? If your neighbor is gay, like what's that got to do with you, right, exactly? It's not gonna leak into your house and affect you in any way, gay or queer or non-binary like right, yeah, they're living their own life.

Speaker 2

Yeah, the way they want are they making your life miserable, like you know. Play music like really loud, because I mean that's a well, yeah, that's part of the law, you guys.

Speaker 1

You know that can be a rude neighbor, anybody can do that, right it's. It's particularly like how someone chooses their lifestyle to be, yep, has no bearing on you whatsoever, exactly, unless you are in a relationship with that person Exactly. And you know again, it's still their life and their choices, so it's still not really affecting you, right? Yeah, so we're just constantly baffled by that. Yeah, everybody is entitled to live their life how they want to, exactly, and that goes for lifestyle, religion, everything, job, whatever they want, if they, whatever they want to do has zero bearing on you in general exactly so but we're happy.

Speaker 1

Yes, oh, yeah, that happened and we're happy he's happy, I'm just I'm sad that like he knows and feels that, like it will affect how people view him. Yeah, it's going to affect also the fandom too.

Speaker 2

Because probably somebody in the fandom will be like why are you going to have a gay person in a male group? Why, right?

Speaker 1

I'm like why are you going to have a gay person in a male group, right Right, I'm like why not Because he's very talented and, you know, knows how to work with us.

Speaker 2

We all are our family and you know you're the one with the problem.

Speaker 1

You can leave and yeah, the music's not going to be different. Exactly, you know it's like, exactly, it's not going to be different. Exactly, you know it's like, exactly it's not.

Speaker 2

The dance is not going to look different, the music's not going to sound different, if the beat's good, the beat's good, it doesn't matter Exactly, and that's what. I mean I like that he did it in LA, because you know California is very highly, you know the community is there, you know they should change california to like lgbtq. Plus, you know yeah, because you know san francisco is very, you know, large.

Speaker 2

you know gay lesbian and it has been for a very long time exactly so la is like probably the great place to do it, you know again.

Speaker 1

Very brave of him, yeah, and very like it says here, he's the first uh, k-pop in, you know, in an idol group.

Speaker 2

So I don't know. Yeah, that's what they say. First idol group member of korean nationality to officially come out as gay officially.

Speaker 1

So that's sort of well. I was gonna say, see, but that's sort of hinting at the fact that, like, probably, most likely definitely there are others in the community, in the k-pop world, who have not come out yet. But exactly and it's not. You know honestly, it's not any of our business no I like the music. It doesn't matter exactly, it doesn't matter. I like your music.

Speaker 2

Still, I'm we support because you are a artist that we love and you know we, we appreciate you. You know we like your music, you like the way you are. We're here as your fans for the artists.

Speaker 1

No, because we appreciate the art. Exactly, you know, we're here for your talent.

Speaker 2

Yeah, we're here for your talent your talent of voice, music, you know writing whatever.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I mean we do occasionally get to Lulu about, like you know, writing whatever. Yeah, I mean we do occasionally get to Lulu about like you know.

Speaker 2

But you know, the reality is Part of fantasy.

Speaker 1

I know Because you know reality is that the odds are real small.

Speaker 2

Whatever is happening is so like distracting that it just plays with your fantasy. That's it, you know so anyways.

Speaker 1

Anything else, miss Sarah? No, no, I don't think so, although I just wanted to make um been really loving the uh interaction between jackson and number I oh my goodness. Well when they did the thing at Coachella last year and you were like collab, collab.

Speaker 2

I'm like there's got to be a collab. You're like, no, there's going to be a collab.

Speaker 1

I said it's possible, but you know you got to work with two different countries and companies. It's just going to happen.

Speaker 2

Come on, come on, but it did happen. I couldn't wait for a collab and it happened, yay.

Speaker 1

But I've just been. All of their little Instagram posts and Twitter stuff and just the way that they are together is hysterical.

Speaker 2

They love Jackson. Have you seen that? They look at him like big brother, big brother, they're like these three little kids show harano are.

Speaker 1

I think they're like best buds now they're like bro peas in a pod. They're bros, bro, I love you like. They're all having a good time together, but those two particularly are like oh yeah, let's do this. You, you know.

Speaker 2

I think Jackson sees a show like oh, my little puppy, come on, let's go do this, let's go do this.

Jackson Wang & Number I Collab

Speaker 1

Oh my God, Too funny. It is so yeah, I just I was like we have to talk about how funny that is in there Like bell-bottomed polyester leisure suits I know it looks so cool.

Speaker 2

I did, I did like the outfits, I do like the office, that retro look I'm like why does that sound?

Speaker 1

look familiar well you know, it totally made me think of the, the beastie boys sabotage era where they were doing. They did the same thing, wearing all the bell bottoms and stuff.

Speaker 2

Doing all crazy stuff. What are they doing? But it's a cool. It's a cool song by Jackson. You know, this Colette was cool Because of course, the guys from number I, they had their own like rap lines and that's the what we have been seeing their direction. Yes, rap lines and that's the what we have been seeing their direction. Yes, they're going with the urban, they're going with the hip-hop. You know they only have done their soulful ballads that we're like oh mg, but they are enjoying the hip-hop and whatever.

Speaker 1

You know this kishi and his mental rap he is enjoying this.

Speaker 2

This is the way he should be using his voice.

Speaker 1

Yeah, thank you but, uh, yeah, that does mean sweet and fun and lovely, lovely they're just having a good time and that's awesome, so I just I had to throw that in there because it's a good.

Speaker 2

No, thank you for the reminder, because this it has been fun. It has been fun to see them do that well, and it's just.

Speaker 1

The song itself is just oh yeah, what GD okay, okay, okay, yeah.

Speaker 2

People are like can you play this song? I'm like oh, so, I did play it, so let's, let's see. But of course, because you know, from midnight to 6 am you can, uh, play explicit lyrics, our content, content, you know, Well, that's kind of mild on the yeah, I know it's the D word, but still like. But yeah, it's not like throwing the F word like five times.

Speaker 1

Right. Then it's like yeah.

Speaker 2

No, I can't do that, that's too much. All right, anything else, dima. No, I can't do that, that's too much. All right Anything else. Zima.

Speaker 1

No, I don't think so.

Speaker 2

Okay, I think I'm good. All right, we're finishing it, yeah.

Speaker 1
