The K-pop landscape is shifting in exciting ways as MONSTA X prepares for their triumphant return as a complete group this September. After four years of waiting while members completed their military service, fans can finally look forward to new music from the full lineup on September 1st. Their recent 10th anniversary concerts showcased their enduring talent and chemistry, though the physical demands have taken a toll – member I.M is currently recovering from back pain that forced him to miss a scheduled appearance.

Behind the celebration lurks a more troubling trend in K-pop concert culture. KCON LA has become the site of an impromptu "tent city" as dedicated (or perhaps overzealous) fans camp out nearly two weeks before the event. This raises serious questions about fan safety, venue responsibility, and the sustainability of general admission floor sections at major K-pop events. The potential for dangerous crowding situations has us calling for a return to seated floor arrangements to prevent injuries and ensure everyone has a fair, comfortable concert experience.

For fans outside the typical tour circuit cities (LA, Chicago, Newark/New York, Atlanta), there's growing frustration at being overlooked. Boston stands out as a prime example of a city with excellent infrastructure for concerts – multiple suitable venues, strong public transportation, walkable streets, and cultural attractions that would make it appealing for touring artists. As K-pop's global popularity continues to surge, perhaps it's time for entertainment companies to expand their geographical footprint and bring these electrifying performances to more diverse locations across North America.

Whether you're excited about MONSTA X's comeback, concerned about concert safety, or hoping your city will finally make it onto the tour schedule, one thing remains clear – the passion of K-pop fans continues to drive the industry forward, though sometimes that passion requires better channels and more thoughtful organization to ensure everyone's enjoyment and wellbeing.

Reminiscing About Psychic Fever

Speaker 1

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Elixir, with me Sarah and Miss DJ Panic. Actually, I should start calling myself Sarashi.

Speaker 2

Sarashi. Thank you, Ruchin.

Speaker 1

Anybody who doesn't know what we're talking about go check out the Psychic Fever fan meet experience episode.

Speaker 2

We had so much fun girl. I know we did. We had so much fun girl, I know we did.

Speaker 1

We had so much and I was like sort of like useless at work all week because I was just so happy and like do to do about it right, oh my, okay, so I wasn't the only one.

Speaker 2

No, at lunchtime, monday at my, my co-workers got an earful from me because I told them from the beginning to the end. My experience it's like they were like I have a coworker who talks a lot and this is probably the first time she said nothing, because I'm like, oh my God, then this happened, and oh my God, this happened, and this happened, and this happened. And I'm showing videos and I'm like, oh my god, then this happened, and oh my god, this happened, and this happened, and this happened, and then, and then, and then and I'm showing videos and I'm showing this and I'm like, oh my god, and I'm like, wow, this is the first time you didn't say anything.

Speaker 1

She didn't have time. She was just like you were like.

Speaker 2

I was so excited no, me too excited to tell people about it.

Speaker 1

I mean, I told you my parents were out. Yeah, like they heard all about it too.

Speaker 2

I was like it was so much fun I'm telling it's like the best fan vip experience that I have ever yeah, you know me too, because I have had vip experience where you meet the band and that's it.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

It's like group photo. Thank you, and that's it, you know.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no, there was way more interaction Right.

Speaker 2

Way more.

Speaker 1

Actually, the only other one that comes sort of close, and it's not even had to do with music, it was. I went to a Comic-Con and I did a fan meet thing with John Barrowman.

Speaker 2

Oh, my God, yes, Love him right.

Speaker 1

Oh, he's awesome, and I did the you know, take a photo selfie with him. Yeah, well, he grabbed my phone and dude took like 30 pictures of us. He's like, oh look, look surprised, oh look shocked, look shocked, oh look angry. I was like, oh my god, and like he just kept clicking photos, so that was like that was up there too, because this was. It was such a that's a crazy moment, but I mean like seriously, 30 selfie shots of us together, oh my god and it was like, and like he had his arm around me.

Speaker 1

He was not afraid to be, you know, because a lot of events are like no touching, no, whatever. No, he had his arm around me. He's like let's do it, do this, do this, do this. It's like you crazy man he's awesome this was just as good, because, though the we didn't get to you know, nobody hugged me but we did get to.

Speaker 2

High five them, we got to oh my god, the high five was so good yep.

Speaker 1

So everybody definitely check out the episode and hear about all the fun we had oh my god.

Speaker 2

So yeah, that was definitely yeah, my co-worker got an earful that at lunchtime for for for music, meet and greet. Yes, this was the best one I've had oh my goodness, me too it's like wow, wow yes let's see what's gonna top it off.

Speaker 1

Hmm, because it wasn't like just your average meet and greet, I'm I don't know. It was like such a cool experience. Yes, I really that organization connect did an amazing job.

Speaker 2

Yes, Amazing job.

Speaker 1

Yes, they did, and so did the guys obviously because they were willing to go through all of this stuff.

Speaker 2

I know they were like okay, what else next? What are we doing? What kind of games are we doing? I like that they're so happy to do the little games. I know Because when they say how about a game, guys, I'm like yeah, let's do a game. That is so cool, so so cool.

Speaker 1

Anyway, so we're not here to actually talk about the psychic fever.

Speaker 2

No and meet again no, but we had to revisit, because that's part.

Speaker 1

And then we have a surprise Other thing that we're both been sort of. I'm sure that's been mingled a little bit in your excitement too. Exactly Something else we're looking forward to, but you'll hear about that after it happens, that will be after the experience is over.

Speaker 2

Let's see if we don't get any concert concert media, because I know right, okay, that's okay yeah, it's only now I'm gonna have my phone charged and make some room on my phone because that's girl, I've been waiting for this, yeah I'm gonna download and delete all the pictures off my phone. Oh my god be ready to put some room in there. Get some room, just oh okay.

Speaker 1

Anyways, as you can tell, this is a rants and rambling um, it's been a while, since, we have done a talk you know well, it felt like for a while that was all we did, so we were like we should do music, and now we're like we haven't actually we haven't done a talk, just uh yeah, but of course our month of july, of june, was jam-packed with events.

Speaker 2

God. Then now july had another event and then we're gonna have another event, so we have been doing a lot of the concert experience or just experience at home.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2

And you know a couple of music ones, because why not? But also when it came to the Ransom Rambling, not much is going on, except for some really bad news that we're like. Well, I don't want to talk about that, you know.

Speaker 1

And there's still just a lot yeah.

Speaker 2

A lot of bad news. Yeah.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Monsta X Comeback Announcement

Speaker 2

And there's still just a lot of bad news. Yeah, yeah, but there's one that I know. It came out a long time ago, on July 16. I'm reading this from Soompi, so this says Monster X to make full group comeback in September.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well, actually we mentioned that. I know we did. Yeah, but we didn't talk in depth about it.

Speaker 2

So the wait is almost all that Monsta X is gearing up for their long-awaited return as a full group. Ay ay ay. So on July 16, monsta X held a press conference ahead of their upcoming 10th anniversary. Girl 10 years.

Speaker 2

Wow, 10 years, jeez, 10 years, jeez, wow. Okay, connect's concert at Seoul, seoul's KSPO Dome this weekend. When asked about their plans to release a new album, kihyun revealed we're already preparing for our comeback. Okay, I'm going crazy. We already finished recording a long time ago. Um, I can't tell you the exact time frame, but within the company, the date has already been set. A significant portion um has already been prepared.

Speaker 1

Oh, okay, so I think, as everybody came back, they started doing stuff right now.

Speaker 2

So so juhani then revealed that their comeback date was sometime in september, according to juhani. I'm reading a quote unquote I'll just tell you the month when our new album will be released. He said playfully, it's coming out in september. Um, I'll be released. It will be released as quickly as possible in september. So september, september. In the meantime, monster x will be performing at the kspo dome for three nights, for july 18th to july 20th, for their connects connect x concert. So stay tuned for their comeback.

Speaker 1

Ah, so the concerts because we we forgot to date stamp this. Should we? Yeah, july 26th? Yes, so the concerts have already happened, but they've been all over instagram with them. Oh yeah, whoa boy.

Speaker 2

Are they?

Speaker 1

working. So that article was from the 16th. You said, yeah, july 16th, because I've got one from the 20th, just a couple of days ago, yesterday, and no, a few days ago, the 20th. Oh, the 20th, sorry. But they said Monsta X will be returning on September 1st. Yay, that's what they said. Okay, full group comeback in four long years because of everybody's military service. You know what? What? So weird, because I was looking for something else completely the other day, in preparation for what we're going to be doing, the other day, in preparation for what we're going to be doing, and I came across my monster x ticket for the show that never happened the 2020 show yes that canceled because of covid yeah I found my ticket do you remember?

Speaker 2

when did that? When was that concert? Was that supposed to be like september or november? No, no, it was supposed to be.

Speaker 1

I think it was may or june, I'll I'll look at. Okay, but you came upon.

Speaker 2

I got the physical ticket oh my god, this is when we were able to get physical tickets. This is pre-pandemic. Oh my god right.

Speaker 1

Omg, how wild. Huh so completely pristine. Wow, it wasn't in my pocket. Nobody tore off the end, stub nothing. Beautiful, perfect monster x ticket for the show. That never happened, yeah girl, I'm so sad.

Speaker 2

I had like the perfect seats. It was like the perfect date I think it was a friday or a saturday, it was a weekend that we were like, yes, we're going.

Speaker 1

And I, oh my god if I'd realized we were going to talk about Monsta X, I'd have brought the ticket with me, it's a Vincent Ramsey, I know, yeah, who knew what we were going to, but isn't that? Crazy. It was just the other day, like literally, oh, today's Saturday it was yesterday, it was Friday, so yesterday I found the ticket. Okay universe.

Speaker 2

What are you trying to do? What are you trying to do? The signal's here.

Speaker 1

Because I was panicking, because I thought I lost something else that I wanted to bring for another event we're doing and I was like where?

Speaker 1

the hell is it Right? And you know when you get like. I can't wait till the weekend when I have loads of time. It was before work yesterday morning and I'm ripping my house apart trying to find it and then I I came across the monsta x ticket and then I found what I was looking for. It was almost like monsta x was jealous and saying don't forget us don't forget us.

Speaker 2

Don't forget us. We're coming back, we're coming back.

Speaker 1

We're making a comeback Exactly Well, and you were telling me something earlier. Yes, about one of the members of Monstax.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I am. Yeah, soompi just actually released that today, which I was like, oh our boy. We saw IM on tour when he came to Boston and he was reminiscing about Boston. Oh my God, he was so sweet, I know right. So let's see. Actually, this report came out on July 25th.

Speaker 1

So this one was yesterday. Yes, oh my God the day I found the ticket, oh my God, the day I found the ticket.

Speaker 2

Oh, I am Monsta X. I Am will not be attending the Waterbomb Busan 2025. On July 25th, starship Entertainment announced via fan platform BeRiz or BeRiz okay that I Am will be unable to participate in the upcoming event due to back pain. Oh, oh gosh. So let's see, ooh, so.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm reading the article it says hello, this is Starship Entertainment.

IM's Health Update

Speaker 2

Recently, monsta X member IM visited the hospital after experiencing back pain and was advised by medical professionals to rest and undergo treatment. Currently, im is focusing on recovering while undergoing treatment and taking time to rest. As a result, we regret to inform you that he will not be able to participate in the Waterbomb Busan 2025, scheduled for Saturday July 26th.

Speaker 1

Oh, so that was going to happen today. Either happen today or pass. Yeah, it would be passed. It's like 2 am there.

Speaker 2

As this decision was made with the artist's health as our top priority. Thank you very much. We ask for your kind understanding priority. Thank you very much. We ask for your kind understanding. Starship entertainment will do everything we can to support I am speedy recovery. Thank you, and then thank you for doing that no, definitely so.

Speaker 1

All of these the connect show like events that they were doing. You've saw. You saw some of the clips, right? Oh yeah, I mean, mean they were making the rent for sure. Oh yeah Right, they were dancing their buns off, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's how he hurt himself.

Speaker 2

They're doing like choreo from like their beginning. I mean they did 10 years, right, you know. They ain't young men anymore, but they went to the military, so you know they're in tip-top shape.

Speaker 1

Well, you know. Think about, though, his solo tour. He wasn't doing a lot of choreo. No, you know so maybe he was a little more out of practice than everybody else, but he looked good. Oh yeah, oh, my God did he look good Woo.

Speaker 1

Well, can I just say that? Well, I've always loved you, honey, always loved him. He's such a cutie, have you seen and this seems to be a thing it happened with some other artists who just recently got out of the military like they get out and they're all a little chubby, looking like chubby, like chubby. He's always had a very round face and, yeah, but they look like like round right. He has slimmed down, his face is like chiseled. He's still got his dimples thank god, those cute dimples. But like I was like what is it? It must be the food, the military food, like lots of salt and carbs, so they get older, because I'm not saying like that.

Speaker 1

They looked like they were heavy, not like they gained weight in a, but they looked like like they were retaining water or something. You know what I mean. It's a different workout, but not just that I think it has to do with like the food and they're not.

Speaker 2

Yeah, dancing is very different than marching up, and down, you're in the military, you're not drinking alcohol and you're not having snacks that's true.

Speaker 1

Well set, uh wrong.

Speaker 2

One alcohol would make you bloat exactly so when they come out of the military, it's like they went to rehab.

Speaker 1

There's no alcohol? Well no. But what I'm saying is they are bloated when they're getting out. No, I see them thing oh no, his.

Speaker 2

I see them skinny. I don't see them bloated. I'm talking about their face. No, not even.

Speaker 1

He had a round face, all right, compare one old picture to the one right now.

Speaker 2

I don't see that we do need new glasses, girl, we do need that.

Speaker 1

I've seen two other artists who just recently came out, the same thing. They looked just the face looked like pudgy and within a couple of weeks I face looked like pudgy and within a couple of weeks I don't see them narrowed out. I don't know he, he, it looked like he lost weight and again you said it's. It's a different kind of workout, but it's also, I think, the change in diet, because in the military they try to keep you like sad and depressed with the no alcohol heavy. No snacks.

Speaker 2

Heavy salted food you may have a break. I mean you can have your. You know you'll have your break, but there's no alcohol, there's no snacks I mean on your off time, there is, but not yeah, but no, I know not on the thing.

Speaker 1

But but I'm saying it's, it's the food. I think it's the food. Yeah, they have everything's heavy and heavily salted and you just retain water and because you're sweating so much all the time, they want you retaining water with it. I don't know. It's just to me he. He looks healthier now than he did while he was in the military. How's that? That's my point. Okay, you don't see what I'm not saying. He's bloated now. I'm saying six months ago, when did he get out? When did he get out Three months ago?

Speaker 2

I don't remember. Anyways, we love you, Ju honey, no matter bloated or not bloated.

Industry Comebacks and New Groups

Speaker 1

Well, I don't mean it in the sense of heavy and fat, just that you can see his face was poofier, rounder, it's slimmed out, but he's still got the dimples and that's all that matters. Oh yes, Just like.

Speaker 2

RM. He still has his dimples.

Speaker 1

Oh my God, the dimple voice yes, and they're rappers.

Speaker 2

What, and they're?

Speaker 1

songwriters and composers and singers and theirs is awesome and they're buddies and they hung out while they were in the military do something.

Speaker 2

Collab, collab, collab. I know right, I'm right yelling it out there. Juhani rm.

Speaker 1

Collab what that was like like the golden day. When that picture got posted on instagram, I was like. I was like juhani and rm. Oh my god I mean the blinding dimples in that photo. Oh my God.

Speaker 2

I'm just like oh, taka, taka boys, that is just look. Oh my God.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

My heart, my heart Anyways.

Speaker 1

So, yeah, what other news do we want to talk about? Do we want to mention the Min, the Min.

Speaker 2

I was like I was looking at it and I was was like so she's just not found guilty right, yeah, basically, and so but new jeans is like they want to come back to the. I don't know.

Speaker 1

Yeah well, because we had talked about it a few times prior the whole new jeans min heejin adore issue going on. So so Min Hee Jin has been cleared of like stealing information, okay, and that's just. You know. Guilty people do get away with things all the time. I'm not saying she's guilty, I'm just saying Okay. And New Jeans is like their contract is in issue right now and they don't want to do anything unless she gets brought back, and the company's like we're not going to bring her back, because if they thought she was guilty of wrongdoing, why are they going to bring her back? So anyways, yes, this is now. The girls are left sort of just in limbo. They want everything to go back the way it was and it's not going to in limbo.

Speaker 2

They want everything to go back the way it was, and it's not going to no, there's they even the girls as their own. They have done some damage.

Speaker 1

Oh yes, then I was like no, it's no, so good well, you know, yeah, when you, when you think you're right and nobody else does, that leaves you in a bad place, and that's, unfortunately, where they've left themselves.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Anyways, but I thought you know we should just touch on it because it's finally something resolved with that. But not, yeah, because you know they're still. They're still not resolved Right and they're still not back to doing their stuff.

Speaker 2

Yeah. So what else have you got? Apparently, starship rookie group idid idid stunts with confident moves in step it up. Also, they already have a new boy group. So on july 24, starship entertainment new group idid released their pre-debut signal, a digital single step it up, their signal, their signal um, and a track from upcoming first mini album. I did it okay. So we have a new groupie group, interesting, okay, of course they're all like what? What 18? Probably yes, oh my God, yes, they are.

Speaker 1

They're like teenies, good grief. And everybody's got some comebacks happening. Oh, I'm looking at all these Ivy confirmed to make a comeback. These Stray Kids, they're going to be dropping Karma for their comeback. Yes, oh, red Velvet's Wendy is going to be doing a solo tour. Ooh, okay, I actually. I know a guy who loves Red Velvet Loves Red Velvet.

Speaker 2

We have a fanboy. What yes?

Speaker 1

Yes, I was like did you like Wendy and Jin's collab on his latest album? Because she worked with Jin on his latest album because she worked with um jen on his album and uh yeah, so uh, we might have a third to go check out.

Speaker 2

She's going to boston decide to go.

Speaker 1

I don't know they just said she's gearing up for the first solo tour comeback in over a year.

Speaker 2

Okay, I don't see any dates listed yet okay, we'll keep an eye out, all right, hopefully she'll do like Wausau and come to Boston Mm-hmm To our favorite venues. Yes, definitely.

Speaker 1

Do it, do it.

Speaker 2

Oh my God, yes, that will be awesome.

Speaker 1

Okay, yeah, that was, oh, wow, that was just announced yesterday. So cool. Let's yesterday, so cool, let's go. Of course, sometimes you know how the whole world touring thing goes for us. There's a lot of people, though, right now touring txt p1 harmony g-dragon everybody, I miss g-dragon's concert. Oh, I thought it wasn't until g dragons been touring girl. Yeah, I know, but I I thought he wasn't going to be on this side of the country until towards the end of august, is it?

Speaker 2

I think so oh, I thought he was already isn't he the?

Speaker 1

one here because I was like oh no, that's my dad's birthday, ah and, and he's gonna. He's going to be in Newark, new Jersey, which is kind of like New York's. Hard enough for us. Yeah, and that's where everybody's going, girl, it's like the new New York.

Speaker 2

And we're not the only ones complaining about this, there's all the fans. I was like why are you always doing like Newark, chicago and Atlanta and LA yeah, there's all three cities, major cities in the US.

Speaker 1

Like hello, exactly. But have you noticed, like the shift from New York itself to Newark? Yeah, and I wonder if it's just because like it's cheaper, cheaper and traffic stuff easier, like because, well, think about in the city how many times we're in lines looping around blocks and blocks of new york city.

Speaker 2

So like I wonder if because they're yeah because they always get venues that is like surrounded by tourists and it's like yeah, exactly because when we years ago, when we went to um, the met life field, like that was that's the only thing there.

Speaker 1

Yeah, out in the middle of nowhere, nowhere, exactly. Our joke about our bts shirts yeah, paris, london, east rutherford, new jersey, new jersey, but they put down.

Speaker 2

New York and I'm like that ain't New York. Yo stop making it like you went to New York and it's not true. Well, on the shirt.

Speaker 1

It does not say New York, it says East.

Speaker 2

Rutherford yeah, but they say that is New York.

Speaker 1

Oh, do they? I didn't think they say anything.

Speaker 2

I thought yeah, they're like. Yeah, we're in New York, new Jersey, new Jersey, new Jersey.

Speaker 1

Well, you know, New York, New York. They sound kind of alike. But, yeah, so. So a lot of who else? I saw somebody, just everybody. Yeah, a bunch of people. But yeah, psychic fever came to Boston. Maybe they'll spread the word yes, yes, yes, spread the word, yes, yes.

Speaker 2

Yes, Spread the word boys.

Speaker 1

So, yeah, boston is the place to be Exactly.

Speaker 2

There are plenty of venues to accommodate a large crowd.

Speaker 1

Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And you know, foxborough Stadium is one of them. Yep, it can hold anywhere from 65,000 to 70,000 people. Yep, yep, it can hold anywhere from 65 to 70 000 people. Yep, and I know it's not literally in boston, but everybody calls it boston.

KCON Tent City Controversy

Speaker 2

When they're playing there they're like boston.

Speaker 1

Yep, so, yep, yep, yep.

Speaker 2

So it counts now that you're saying that let's go talk about kcon, because there's some shit show going on in k-con, uh-huh have you seen happening more and more? Have you seen the fans lining up 12 days before the event on the streets of la? They're camping it's tent city. Yeah, no tent city people are like yo, you don't work, what the hell are you? Doing out there, camping in the hot la city to be the first ones to see your, your, your, your fave your faves, yeah I'm like what that's?

Speaker 2

just that's insane. That's insane. So I don't know, is it general admission like a free-for-all? They don't have seats.

Speaker 1

Well is so. Is this just for the concert part of let me see if I can look it up.

Speaker 2

There was, um, there was somebody like doing, you know, reporting them that why are these people lining up for kcon for like two weeks in advance?

Speaker 1

because I mean I guess, yeah, if it's general admission, but still I would think that the city would be like nope, not happening. I guess they don't care, everybody go home. Because the way you would make that work is you and a group of friends and you take turns rotating, holding the spot in in line.

Speaker 1

But no, there's like people with tents no, no, I know but I mean like, yeah, two of you can hang out in the tent while the other three go off and live life. And then they come and you know you rotate out.

Speaker 2

Yeah, no, there's. These fans are getting like too crazy and they're just living there. Ew, that's just icky that's just gross exactly.

Speaker 1

I mean, aside from just the general hot and ick of being outside in LA in the middle of summer, and it's dangerous, yeah, Like in a tent without access to you know, proper stuff.

Speaker 2

Like showers, unless you're walking around somewhere. Well, that's why I'm saying it.

Speaker 1

It's got to be that they're trading off with friends, so you know, someone can go home and shower because you you know, what I mean Like little camper shower. Things are not, not effective enough for city dwelling. But yeah, that is crazy crazy.

Speaker 2

Let me see if I can find. Uh, oh, I found it. Oh, no, I didn't. Oh, yes, I found it. Okay, so this fan made a post.

Speaker 1

Uh are you on twitter? I mean x.

Speaker 2

I'm on x twitter this person made a post back on july 23rd. This person made a post back on july 23rd, but I don't know, like three days ago, I don't know if this is the first one. Oh, somebody commented this smells like last year.

Speaker 1

So apparently, yeah, people are just hanging out getting ripe.

Speaker 2

Yay, no thanks okay, so I'm not naming the, I'm not saying the names of the tweets the who doing the okay, yeah, yeah there's this other one who said I'm actually crying, that pit is gonna be stank. And then another one. I fear people people's gen jobless or lucky this is a messed up tweet. Then they don't have jobs. I have enough funds to not need to work for 12 days.

Speaker 1

Well, anyone who can work remotely might be doing that, but again, that would require having power sources, and you know what I mean. Yeah, maybe they took their whole two weeks vacation to do this, yeah, but but damn, because if you can work remote, then you can work from line at the kcon exactly wow but that's crazy, that is very crazy.

Speaker 2

So apparently tent city started. I'm trying to find when did that start it? Okay, so I see the picture. Okay. So this is another person who said y'all are crazy for camping for KCOM this early. Honey, we still got a week and a half Yo people. I see there's like luggage. Honey, we still got a week and a half Yo People. There's like luggage some umbrellas, people there just like, yeah, sitting under this tree for that. Wow, with their luggage. Hey, just there on the sidewalk of hot LA. This is like sun beaming down on on these people gosh, it doesn't start until august 1st, so yeah and they're like.

Speaker 1

This is like people posting from july 23rd wow, wow, that's crazy yuck, that's all I can say you another one, you can come.

Speaker 2

Beep are actually nasty and crazy. In this crazy bipolar weather, what go home yeah, exactly so I'm saying this and seeing this. Well, it looks like general admission is a free-for-all yeah, you know you're gonna be see.

Speaker 2

This is stupid because, as we know very well, anybody who gets general admission you could be close, but there's people pushing in there to get you out of the way. You know, like that it is not worth it. So, kcon and any other event I'm just saying in general, all other events that have floor, seating floor instead of just having this free-for-all for general admission, they're doing this so they can get more money just cramping people in there like cows. Yeah yeah have seating.

Speaker 2

This should be a seated event to avoid any casualties. Now you have all these fans who are sorry. Nothing right if you're just sitting in the sun on a tent yeah on a sidewalk with, like, just your shelter is a tent which is plastic, like this person saying this.

Speaker 2

Bipolar weather yeah, oh, you know I know they put a cloth saying do not stay outside if the police come. You know, blah, blah, blah. It's not our fault. And I know you're saying all this little wordage of like if you've done, if you're there before the event, maybe we're not responsible for your, for your safety or for your for anything. Come on, make it a seated event. What's wrong putting seats on there? I have, we have seen it done yeah, we have.

Speaker 1

Well, we went to you know one where there was someone.

Speaker 2

They had seats in the pit I mean for kcon. It should be seated. It shouldn't be like this. What about all the casualties inside the event? Because of crazy fans jumping over other crazy fans right and you have the emt crushing into the crowd and sometimes they don't even let the emt go in there and help this person who have fainted or crushed yeah because they're so crazy to see their favorite. This has to be seated. You need to have some crowd control yeah, definitely, if you're that money hungry.

Speaker 2

This is ridiculous. Well, I'm trying to make you because, um, you're paying, like what?

Speaker 1

12 grand or more oh yeah, depending on the package you get to maybe hopefully you're okay when you come out there I was trying to look at like sort of their and there's always somebody who faints, gets crushed.

Speaker 2

Something happens, yeah, something happens, because you have general admission and everybody is chaos. Yeah, it's, I mean ats have seen it straight kids have seen it that one of the members says, like we're stopping the show because y'all not behaving, yeah, and they just walk out. You know because, again, it's general admission, it's open. If you have seats, people need to stay on your seat.

Speaker 1

Yes, definitely, you know. Yeah, I don't know what their whole like.

Speaker 2

There should be a map somewhere.

Speaker 1

I've never been to KCON, so I don't know what their setup looks like.

Speaker 2

Well, if it's anything like MSG, it was open. The floor is always open. Oh yeah, they don't put seats.

Speaker 1

Sometimes they do. I've seen seats down there, but KCON is not seats. Sometimes they do, I've seen seats down there, but but k-con's not gonna do that because they just want money, I'm.

Speaker 2

I'm looking also at like who's gonna be there. We got iv zero base one, p1, harmony and ct 127, 127 also out there for id is gonna be there. Oh good, yeah, because this is a great time to watch the rookie groups and see which ones you're going to support.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's who we saw a lot of oh yeah, we saw Stray Kids, we saw, we saw. Ateez as well. Ateez the Boys. Yeah, yeah, we saw a lot of people SF9.

Speaker 2

All of the ITZY Jackson's going to be there.

Speaker 1

Girl please, girl please don't remind me, and don't remind me about jackson being in boston without signing. Okay girl, yeah, I know, but monsta x gonna be there.

Speaker 2

Yeah, one gravity wasa idol, idol, I'd love to see them zero base, one rise um yeah yeah, these are events that should be seated, don't how you know? Choi ho jung, wow. So I'm calling it out that I know bts have seating for their korean shows. They're all seated, but not for the us.

Speaker 1

We have not seen that for the us I thought there were seats when we were at um, not for sugar, no, no, not for sugar, but because when we saw them at the MetLife place. Speak Yourself the tour, Because remember our friends were way down and we were trying to spot them in seats they had set up. So, like for the sound check and everything, it was a free for all. Everybody ran in Right, but they did actually have seats down in that bottom area surrounding the stage.

Speaker 1

Our boys are smart, they know very well yes, but like you think about sugar and j-hope, the like, what they were playing were not, you know, teeny little clubs, but they weren't huge stadiums. They were playing average size venues 10 to 20,000 people on average. So maybe that's why they were figuring open floor. It could be up to the actual venue itself, maybe, whether they require seats or not.

Speaker 2

Seating will be best to avoid people tenting out there.

Speaker 1

Or things like what we just went through. Again, it's much smaller venue, but still telling people you, based on your whatever uh ticket master number, I'm like that place that sells tickets it is that place, that place, that place that sells tickets, all those robbers from going to see your best, yeah, but like if they did it that way, saying based on where you were in line, purchasing the tickets is when you go in, yeah Kind of thing and start entry early.

Speaker 1

We've been yelling about this one for ages too, though. All these venues that like wait, you know, shows at eight, so we open the doors at seven. Yeah, you've got a crowd of 20,000 people.

Speaker 2

You think you're getting all their asses in there in an hour yeah, they want to check your bag, they want to do this, they want to check you down, tell you you can't take your bottle in there, like everything yeah you need more time exactly.

Speaker 1

If you're gonna do that, you need to start early and like what's it gonna hurt.

Speaker 1

The sound check got done three hours earlier, yeah, so what do you care? We're in there drinking your concessions and eating your concession food. You're making money. Just let us just let us in. Just let us in so that we're not dying in the heat. Or you know people who can't stand for long periods of time, people with disabilities, like, let people in you get less cranky people. Yeah, exactly, you know. And people get to know the other people sitting around them. And you know Exactly. Yeah, it just makes sense. But I guess they don't want to pay people to be there longer than they need them to be, all the employees who get ripped off. So, yeah, yeah, that's all I can think of is they don't want to pay all the security people to be there early enough to do that which is stupid, you know.

Speaker 2

I mean it's paid in that ticket, you know, yep uh, anyway, all right.

Speaker 1

Any other news? Anything else you want to talk about besides a stinky?

Speaker 2

k-con crowd. You know I'm mad they're not coming back to New York.

Speaker 1

They're just going to keep everything in.

Speaker 2

LA, you know yeah, because they just want money. Yep. I cannot afford going to LA. Everything's in LA. Oh, la, la LA.

Speaker 1

No offense, LA. I mean it's not your fault that everybody just finds it easier to do stuff there, and I don't know why, because I thought California was expensive, well.

Why Boston Deserves More K-Pop Events

Speaker 1

Well, not only that, but like LA especially is not really well known for its public transportation. Yeah, so, and according to the two family members I have that have been there, they're like it's not an easy place to walk around. There's like a two block area that you can walk. The rest of the city is really not walkable. I was like, ok, so no public transportation and you can't walk around it easy. That's crazy. What's the appeal? Come back to New York, right? Or come to Boston. We got Seaport, yeah, they could put stuff in there. Yeah, and then right next door is the whatever, that pavilion where we see shows all the time. Yeah, it changes names every other week, so I don't know what to call it the pavilion, the tent on the water, exactly you, and I tent on the water, exactly you and I have all the answers.

Speaker 2

We do, we do Come to Boston. We got different things going on and we got good food here.

Speaker 1

Some places. We've been discovering some new places. Yeah, there's variety. We got the tea, we'll take you everywhere. Yeah, yeah, there's variety. We got the tea, we'll take you everywhere. Yeah, we got trains and buses.

Mm-hmm, we got a very nice park, the Common, the Common and then the Public Garden across the street, both very nice, mm-hmm, lots to do Duck tours across the street, both very nice. Lots to do duck tours. You got the duck boats. Yes, boston has a lot to offer you have newberry.

Speaker 2

You newberry, a street for shopping, right, a lot of good shopping and food. What's that mall that we went to? I forgot the name of it. Oh yeah, they have like upscale shopping well, it has that italian oh my God, supermarket thing that was so cool.

Speaker 1

Isn't that part of the Prudential? I think, I think so there's a lot of H Mart. Yeah, h Mart, yeah, go on.
