What happens when your favorite artist leaves the group that made them famous? Sarah returns from hiatus to join Panic in tackling the bittersweet phenomenon of "graduation" in Japanese entertainment—the uniquely positive framing when members depart to pursue solo endeavors.
The conversation kicks off with the recent shocking announcements from Hey! Say! JUMP, where Yuto Nakajima revealed their departure after 18 years with the group. This prompts a deeper examination of how artists transform their careers after group life. Some find tremendous success as actors (like Yamapi and Toma Ikuta), others become hosts or TV personalities, while many forge impressive solo music careers.
Kenty (Nakajima Kento) emerges as a standout example—Panic's self-proclaimed "son" who successfully transitioned to both acting and solo music after leaving his group. The pair also dive into Matsumoto Jun's impressive acting versatility, from his bratty character in Hana Yori Dango to his surprisingly compassionate role in his current drama "The 19th Department." These post-group transformations reveal new dimensions of artistry that might never have emerged within group dynamics.
Throughout the episode, Sarah and Panic highlight the support for both paths after a graduation—remaining loyal to the original group while embracing departed members' new journeys. They also touch on fresh music releases from Fujii Kaze, MONSTA X, ORβIT and the upcoming BE:FIRST anniversary album.
Whether you're currently processing a favorite member's departure or just fascinated by career evolutions in entertainment, this episode offers insight, comfort, and the reassurance that sometimes endings are just the beginning of something new.

Welcome Back After Hiatus
Speaker 1Welcome everybody to another episode of Music Elixir. With me, sara Shi, and I told you I'm going to start doing it.
Speaker 2Miss DJ Panic. Sara is back out of her hiatus. If this is your first time listening, you need to check the episode before that. It's very, very tiny, it's barely 10 minutes.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's like nine minutes and 43 seconds of panic all by herself by myself.
Speaker 2I sounded so sad. I was like damn, I can't stand myself well, and there was no like music intro. There was no like because that's all you, but then you know it was completely different. I wonder how people felt about it, but I'm like did they feel as lonely as you did.
Speaker 1That's what we should ask them all. Right, when you heard panic, right? Because, I listened to it too and I was like, wow, it's, it's totally different.
Speaker 2Like even you know you do your banter during your radio show, but it's not extended, it's you know little yeah, it's only like a two or three minute blur, that I'll you know, not even sometimes, maybe just a minute yeah.
Speaker 1So hearing you just talk the whole time by yourself, I was like wow, that's kind of weird.
Speaker 2I was like oh my god, I don't know how can some people do like 30 minute podcasts just by themselves. But then of course it's like some of those people have, like I don't know, investigations or whatever yeah, you know it's all the things involved in there.
Speaker 1Yeah so so they got loads of stuff they can just read right.
Speaker 2So I like I pick a topic because there was so much going on in the art industry. I didn't want it to make it specific to you know a?
Speaker 2label or management or anything I wanted to wait with you, but I did made it intro in general, that we have spoken about it through, you know, through the podcast. Yeah, when something happens, we talk about what's going on, but for this time I'm just like I'm gonna do a general thing because also the in japan, girl groups also have graduations. You know they call it a graduation. I know you and I were like, yeah, graduation, my buttocks, but it sounds very a nicer word, easier ways to let fans like you know they're still around, they're just gonna be doing other things, they're moving on, they're going, yeah, exactly graduating from being an idol to, you know, acting or modeling, which you know we've seen some of them well, and some of them do go on to other groups but yes they no longer or solo singers, yeah exactly.
"Graduating" From Music Groups
Speaker 1Yeah, some of them have gone solo, so it's just in the music because they're not, uh, fitting that formula anymore for the right sort of way. The groups, you know, right, people age out and we've talked about this with some of the male groups too, yes where, like, suddenly they're, they're not gracing the covers of magazines anymore because they're not no young and it's different yeah, you know, yeah, it's definitely it also.
Speaker 2It also depends what I have noticed. Okay, so let's start that. Let's start that conversation Because, as we know, some of our faves have actually graduated from their group and have gone solo. One that I'm going to talk about because, of course, is very dear to me, because I have called him my son, it's kenty it's kenty oh my god, that's so, that was we manifested that girl, girl.
Speaker 2When that happened I'm like what, kenty, are you listening to me? Why you're so cute, so you see him. So he graduated from the group and from the company and he has been very successful as an actor and now that, out of a few albums and the album.
Speaker 1Did he leave the company too?
Speaker 2no, okay, yeah, I thought he no, no, he didn't, he still went in the company, but solo he has been very successful, and just in two type of entertainments in the acting side and also in the movie.
Speaker 1You know, music, all the ones like that, who else we seen that have left their group or actually graduated their group and become as successful, let's say, like kending um, well, the thing is because not so much continuing with music and not necessarily staying with the same company, but uh yamapi went on to have a good acting career. Toma ikuda, yeah, has had a really good acting career. Uh, shingo katori from smap, I mean, that's you know ages ago, that group and I don't remember, did I tell you this is sort of a little aside um weverse, which is where, like the bts memberships and it was mainly k-pop, they've branched out. They've got a lot of they. They gotta make money.
Speaker 1Everybody's on Weverse. Shingo Katori has his own fan club on Weverse. That's cool. I was like what? That's crazy. So these are guys who've left their groups and are now excelling at acting. I mean lots of jobs, lots of jobs with them. So you know. So it's been a few. And then there's some others, groups that left, created new groups, yep and are successful elsewhere Yep, musically, but like in a whole different way, you know. So, yeah, there's a, there's a lot of that too. You know, people who just want to move in a new direction.
Speaker 2Exactly. One example that I know is it's a different type of entertainment, but it was one of your favorites from Catoon.
Speaker 1Oh which Junsuki.
Speaker 2The one that now is a host. Yeah yeah, you know that if you I said to Sarah hey, your favorite's not a host, we can go check him out.
Speaker 1Well, it was funny because he actually, for a while, was doing his own YouTube cooking show. So I was like, oh you know, is he going to open a cafe? When he was like, new business adventure, what's he doing? Cafe, what Kind of Of sorts? A different type of?
Speaker 2entertainment Different type of entertainment different type of entertainment. Yes, definitely so. Some other favorites will find a different venue too. You can follow them if you you know, but you can always support them, do whatever they want, you know.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah well, that's the thing is for us a lot of times when faves of ours move on, graduate or just quit a group because some of them have just been like yo peace, I'm out, you know I mean not everything's a a smooth transition, but, um, we tend to continue following both paths. Yeah, the group that remains and the individual who moves on Yep, but we always continue to support whoever it is and whatever endeavor they're going for.
Speaker 2Exactly.
Speaker 1I would say there's only ever really been one sort of mildly disappointing, and they've redeemed themselves later. So it's all good, you know. Yeah, I'm not going to name names, but you know we have several groups we like yeah, and several groups that have dissolved on us, but yeah, now we have two groups to pick from, so we have so many so many groups, or a soloist in a group? Yeah, exactly.
Hey Say Jump Members Departing
Speaker 2One that came to shock for me, and then I'm like Sarah, oh my God, look at this. It's Yuto Nakajima from Heisei.
Speaker 1Jump. I know what my boy, my other boy, I love Yam Yam, but oh him, yeah.
Speaker 2So he wanted to concentrate more to being an actor yes and um, that's fine 100. I'd be watching whatever dramas he's been on, if he put it on somewhere I can see.
Speaker 1You know well he always had that like james bond. Look when they were on stage he always looked so handsome suave and debonair.
Speaker 2He was the one that I'm like whoa, yeah, I'm like, oh my God, he's so cute. But when I saw him I was like, whoa, who is that? Oh, another Nakajima. What what's with the Nakajimas leaving while doing their own thing? That's okay.
Speaker 1Must be the name.
Speaker 2Must be the name, must be the name.
Speaker 1Maybe at a certain point they're like okay, I'm going solo, I'm going to go act well, I mean, you know, hey, and I wish him luck, I'm bummed out because, you know, as a group they're such a, an amazing octet right, yeah is that what eight is?
Speaker 2yes, octet yes, well, he did say know he's been with the group for 18 years and you know it's time for him to spread his wings. Do something else. That's great. You know 18 up here, when you, well, age 18, you're an adult, you can do whatever you want. You know you're, you're free to, you know, I don't know, explore and do something else. And 18 years in a group, you're like, hey, okay, it's time to do something else.
Speaker 1I know. Wow, my time to move on Wow, I can't believe it. Wow, oh my gosh. Yeah, but yeah 18 years of your life with a group is quite an investment, yeah.
Speaker 2It. Yeah, it's just he's been like in a family graduation 18 years. There you go. Yeah, yeah, exactly, wow.
Speaker 1So but then we're looking forward to what he's gonna be doing as an actor yes, definitely,
Speaker 2Well, you know, we have Yamada, who has done some solo things as well. This is this is. This is funny, um, before Nakajima was mentioning that. Uh, you know that he was going to graduate from Heisei Jump. We follow this person on x twitter. They have actually translated something that Fuma mentioned in one of their lives. This is really quick, because I don't have the notes in front of me. Who. So, in, in a nutshell, fuma was saying that that there people are asking him why did you do everything in a rush? Why everything is so rushed for you guys? And he's like because we don't have enough time. I feel like we don't have enough time, so we gotta do this and we gotta do that and we gotta do this, because we don't know how long we can keep each other as a family, as a group. I'm like fuma, what are you trying to say?
Speaker 1yeah, really, what is that?
Speaker 2and what many, many. I want to say. Before sexy stones was thinking of doing this whole split up thing, if you go to right on time, he said pray for this group to stay together. I'm like fuma.
Speaker 1Why are you trying to say you're scaring me well, it's because he already knew he and you know would butt heads.
Speaker 2So I'm like pray for this group to stay together, because that's he. He said that when, when they made the announcement of like mario's, yo like taking his break yeah and I'm like oh, fuma, fuma why are you trying to say fuma? Why are you scaring people with that? Because he's, you know our boy, you know our boy, he's just like hair no hair on his tongue yeah, I was gonna tell you like it is, it's total pisces.
Speaker 1He's like the right's on the wall.
Speaker 2He, he's a total limited so when he said that, I'm like oh no, oh no. And then that happening. And then now this new group that they just formed this year their first single was on february, uh. So I'm like ah, why are you saying that now? Why?
Speaker 1are you saying that, and then later on?
Speaker 2this happened with Heisei John and I'm like did you knew about Heisei John? This is what I'm thinking. Fuma is just putting things out there to the fans, like thank you for being with us, but you know this is not going to stay forever. You need to. I'm just trying to ease you out.
Speaker 1Well, and they've been focusing on their TV show as opposed to like yeah, more music, yeah, or maybe they are working on music at the same time. But, like you said, the that first song came out in February and we're used to like rapid fire.
Speaker 2Yeah, the singles and this and that and it's like okay what's going on?
Speaker 1Singles every other month until they make an album. You know Right.
Speaker 2So I so I don't know. But you know, timeless, if it's just more of a TV thing, I'm really not sure. I thought they wanted to go global.
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's hard to say I don't know. And I know a lot of the um, the ones are already in with uh starto. They are actors as well. So I'm like for one of them being hana, which is one of my favorites and he's a danger boy, and fuma's like already knows that he's a danger boy. So I'm like, yeah, you and him.
Speaker 1So I was gonna say fuma's a danger boy. Oh my god, he always has been it's sassy man, oh my god.
Speaker 2Yeah, no um, one thing that I have noticed did start to debut anybody this year? I haven't seen it. Was there a new debut group this year or what? No, because last year was a group, yeah right, this year I haven't, unless I admit no no, I shouldn't miss it because they will make an announcement.
Speaker 1You would think but I haven't really seen a whole lot of activity, but that's also, you know, because of the whole way stupid X works, yeah, and dumb rock and AI, and am I reading real stuff or what you know? What I mean, I know.
Speaker 2There's so much Girl. Girl ai is cray cray out there. Yeah, no shit, I'm seeing things. I'm like what the hell is this? It's like this is not true. Who is this? What is this? You know? But no, I haven't seen a debut, any word of a debuting group this year I need to contact my um on my, send an email to my contact.
Speaker 2Out there I start to and be like hey, uh, any activities for a new debut group or any group I know you're busy with. Oh my god, snowman out there in south korea, I know wow letting themselves know they were on m count.
Speaker 1I know, yeah, no, they've been, they appeared m count M.
Actors After Idol Life
Speaker 2Count Family's like eh, no man, I'm like, yeah, Didn't you see the announcement? They were like, oh my God, it was like they were looking at M Count and just like what?
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2No, man, it's like, yeah, that's so cool, they had a pop up. That was really cool. A pop up, you know, for their merch out there.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah, like the store. Sorry, no, I was looking at something else. Uh-oh, well, I'm just laughing because you've given up on this boy, but they wished him a happy birthday on September 3rd.
Speaker 2I know who you're talking about. I saw that and I went like whatever. I was like wow, you're not getting my happy birthday cheater listen to you, cheetah. I'm waiting for the other one that's birthday's also in september, which he, he, I have. He has my, my respect, think about it.
Speaker 1I am thinking about it. It's gonna make my brain hurt. Who else is from?
Speaker 2japanese group uh, from that group that, by the way, they're coming back again.
Speaker 1And they broke up for one day it's like what the heck is that?
Speaker 2what is?
Speaker 1that? Yeah, wait, whose birthday is in september? Ueda's? Yeah, oh, I didn't. I thought he was earlier in the year. No, you're thinking of coming?
Speaker 2yeah, I guess coming. This is coming. Ashes on it's in february but he's a pisces because he's on that like the yeah 20 late february early.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah that we.
Speaker 2He's. He's a pisces baby, but not a march baby. So ueda is wow, yeah, if I remember, he's also september, but he's's he's a Pisces baby, but not a March baby. So Ueda is Wow, yeah, if I remember, he's also September, but he's not, he's a Scorpio.
Speaker 1Oh, my goodness, I missed my boy from a group's birthday. What? Oh, never mind, Because I was on hiatus so I wasn't looking. I'm like how did I miss all these? But I just looking at the dates I'm like.
Speaker 2How did I?
Speaker 1miss all these. But I just looking at the dates, I'm like, oh, I see why. I know why I missed them. That's just crazy. That's crazy.
Speaker 2so I forgot. Okay, so where is october, not september? Oh, okay but he's close. That's why I'm like now I'm waiting for the other one. I'm still waiting for the other one. I'll give him all my happy birthday wishes uh, it's just funny.
Speaker 1I totally forgot that it was the. Uh, the other he, who shall not be named, had a birthday, so yeah like I said, but I've been. That's why I say cheater on my own hiatus, so I missed all this but now my two june had a birthday.
Speaker 2Oh yes, your dad, our awesome Matsu Jun, I know, which I am loving. Okay, so I saw the 99.9 series is on Netflix.
Speaker 1I saw that Love it.
Speaker 2Love it, love it. It's such a. It gave so much Jun vibes.
Speaker 1Love it.
Speaker 2So now I'm watching the 19th. Netflix is calling it 19th department. Okay, but is the office?
Speaker 1he's a physician, he's a family practitioner yeah, yeah, well, you know it could be this is a area of medical expertise is the 19th department.
Speaker 2I don't know, it's a complete, complete different vibe from june. That is like, wow, I didn't know june could be like this. He was his, his character's a bit more nerdy. I don't know. I gotta see it's a bit more nerdy, more compassionate, more it has some like you know it, like you know it's, I don't know. I'm like who's this June? I don't remember this June, the other one's more sassy, you know Well.
Speaker 1I'm trying to A bit nerdy as well, but more into himself.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah Than the doctor, yeah, his characters, Because I'm trying to think of all the like Gokasun the cool oh, my god the brat student, oh um I'm like you're so damn handsome, I just I don't know why you're gonna be like that so good in that geez.
Speaker 1Oh, he was so young, but kimmy wapeto.
Speaker 2Oh, my god like I love that. Oh, it's hard to you can't really say he's a nerd, because he's just he's so Sassy with brattiness as well, not as much as it did with the first drama that everybody went crazy with.
Speaker 1Oh Hanayuri Dango, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2So he still had that bit of a brattiness.
Speaker 1but oh, he's just a jerk in that one. Hanayuri Dango, his character you're like I know it's kind of bratty.
Speaker 2But you know Sarah's like he's a jerk. He's a jerk.
Speaker 1He's so full of himself, that character. Well, you know he was Not Jun the character.
Speaker 2The character? Well, the character is a spoiled rich brat. Yeah, you know, he was supposed to be Yu Bao to me.
Speaker 1Actually, did you ever see Bambino? No, that one was good. He's a chef, he's kind of nerdy in that one, but he's also sort of again kind of a self-centered character, Like you know.
Speaker 2I know what I'm doing, which one I really, really want to see, and probably will have to buy the Blu-ray if I'm able to. What one? The? And probably will have to buy the Blu-ray if I'm able to. What?
Speaker 1one, the period drama with Okada. Oh, oh, okay With Okada.
Speaker 2Oh my God, with Okada.
Speaker 1Well, because he did another one prior to that too, yeah the one with Okada.
Speaker 2Okada slap his face.
Speaker 1That was everywhere I'm like. Now I got to see this drama.
Jun Matsumoto's Acting Roles
Speaker 2That was Okada slap his face and supposedly that was not scripted. Okada just did it, okada's like Brad, I'm like Jun's face, like what the? Oh my God. I'm like, yeah, it's getting hot in here. Oh God, I love that man so much. Oh my God.
Speaker 1Well, he was sort of a troublemaker on that set, apparently. Yeah, because you know, don't forget that Nino and Sho reminded June he could be a bit of a diva, they're just used to it, oh my God, your senior is here to put you in line.
Speaker 1I know. So it's kind of funny to think of him as playing like a nerdy. Well, he did nerdy character before actually in something else. You know like the detective one, yeah, a nerdy. Well, he did nerdy character before actually in something else. You know like a little the detective one, yeah, but no, he's someone who likes to be in control of everything. It's kind of funny to think of him as a nerdy doctor with compassion yeah, it's completely different.
Speaker 2You and I'm like wow, because he.
Speaker 1In general. He's sassy, yeah, you know. Aloof, yeah, and a diva yeah. Like Nino and Cho said, he's definitely a diva, but that's what we love about him too, you know.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's who he is, makes him him, so that's just completely different. I'm very happy to see different parts, seeing June um I'm very happy to see different parts seeing june acting because wow, he is so versatile like a different side of him. Yes, no that's cool love, okay, so you know I'm looking forward to more seeing june out there being an actor and um well, they're wrapping up that 19th department yeah, Actually this weekend is going to be the final episode.
Speaker 1Okay, yeah.
Speaker 2I'll be watching that on Sunday, because that's when it comes out here on Netflix and I can't wait. I'm watching all those dramas which I'm not going to be seeing, because there's well, you know, actually, yeah, there's one that I'm watching, it's trans. Oh yes, the one with Raul.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2Our Raul character. He's a host. I'm like, why? Why, raul? Why are you putting him as a host? I'm still trying to get used to it.
Speaker 1All right, what is this Sorry?
Speaker 2Found something. What did you find?
Speaker 1Well, we you know, we were just talking about Fuma and Sho. Uh-oh Funny, I came across a picture of the two of them together. Ooh, Wow, Fuma. I don't know what he's dressed up for, but oh my.
Speaker 2Oh, wait a minute. Is he the devil, the blue devil? This is the action one. Oh, it might be fuma and show are in fuma, of course, is the bad character. Fuma is the bad guy here.
Speaker 1Fuma looks so oh wow, yeah, wow, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2So is is show like a policeman I want to say yes, I'm really not sure what the.
Speaker 1It's an action drama, of course might have to check that one out. I want to see that one.
Speaker 2This is like, not I think it's a series. This is I. Uh, there's more to it.
Speaker 1I forgot the name of it yeah, no, it seems like it's like an ongoing show, episode eight.
Speaker 2So yeah, yeah, so yeah, yeah, girl, but I it was just the picture.
Speaker 1I was like I see fuma, this gotta be onuma.
Speaker 2This has to be on Netflix. I want to see them both together acting and Fuma being a bad boy.
Speaker 1Yeah, well, that wouldn't be out of character for him.
Speaker 2No, that's where I'm like. I can't wait to see this. I want to see this.
Speaker 1But I was like whoa.
Speaker 2Well, that just got posted. Today I saw that Kenty one, the movie with the Sakura petals, something like that that I was just crying. Oh my God, I'm like, I'm so happy to see my beautiful Kenty, but, oh my God, that movie Tissues tissues everywhere. I couldn't handle. It Got my heart.
Speaker 1Wow, my timeline's actually looking pretty good. Okay, well, I'm seeing, like you know, beautiful IM from Monsta X Jin, from BTS. Wow, like everybody's just popping up V JK Kenty, kenty, kenty, just Kenty's just popping up V JK Kenty.
Speaker 2Kenty Kenty, just Kenty. Nina Mia, mr Naina Mia. He dropped a new song. Actually, it's for a drama that he did.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So that's out. Please, please, listen everybody. I'm sure orations are already in there on top of that. Oh yeah but I'm sure our Asians are already in there. On top of that, oh yeah, also announced 17 days ago B-First is actually releasing a best of album called Best. That will be on October 29, in celebration for their fourth anniversary of their debut wow's funny.
Speaker 1I just saw my banner from their concert that we went to you did. Yeah, I was moving stuff around and I had the banner up behind another banner because I have too many banners. I was like, oh hey, I have too much like concert, merch, memorabilia stuff that I can't even have it all up all the time.
Speaker 2Girl, every time I look at something, I'm like where am I going to put you, when am I going to put you, when am I going to put this? And then I'm organizing things and more things come out and I'm like oh, my. God, how did I put this away?
Speaker 1It's like they reproduce. I'm like oh yeah, no, I had the wasa in front of me. Well, I've been putting the wasa on my bed.
Speaker 2I didn't do it this time because I've been using my bed also to do my physical therapy for my back.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2So you don't see my plushies or anything on my bed.
Speaker 1Gotcha.
Speaker 2Because, yeah, I've been doing that, because if I do it on the floor I can't get up. Oh no, yeah, it's like oh, big mistake.
Speaker 1It's such a big mistake. Is Fujikaze working on a new album? Well, he just dropped it today.
Speaker 2Oh, by the way, we're recording on September 5th, today's Friday, september 5th, just to let everybody know. So yes, prema came out. I was everybody know.
Speaker 1So yes, Prema came out.
Speaker 2I was just going to say that Prema is out. Third album release Wow, prema is out. It's been trending heavily, heavily.
Speaker 1Wow, and we had Monsta X released their the X the other day, on the 1st of September.
Speaker 2Yeah, september 1st girl.
Speaker 1And we got Orbit.
Speaker 2I can't wait, girl.
Speaker 1That's the 17th right.
Speaker 2Girl, I can't wait. So Paranormal is out. I was going to say paranormal, that's why I was like, wait a minute, it's Panorama, so that's been out there. Very fun and cutesy song. We can talk about that on one of the music episodes yeah, definitely, but yeah, I can't wait for the new album.
Speaker 1Of course, now five members yes, this is another one that two of them graduated yeah they're doing other things by themselves, and that's okay well, they I don't know these guys, the five of them together. They look like they're having a good time. They're having fun. Shunya is being his usual wacky self. He's the comedian.
Speaker 2We have seen that he is the comedian of the group oh my God Love it.
Speaker 1He is such a character I like it when he transforms into a fangirl.
Speaker 2He is so funny.
Speaker 1Oh, my God so funny, love it where he does that well, and what's with tomo singing to the the fan like the not not a person fan, the? Actual my goodness, like the rotating girl. Yeah, wind machine fan. I was like what are you doing? Wack.

Speaker 1Did I send it.
Speaker 2You saw that right.
Speaker 1You didn't have to send it. It popped up in my Instagram, just only a vest on His hair was so nice.
Speaker 2I know right, he looks so good.
Speaker 1He does.
Speaker 2So good, but they're doing their gate number three. So you know all that company. They're doing their thing, so showcase, their showcase. I want to say Something that I would love to attend. Come on, people, take us over there.
Speaker 1We gotta go over there so I was gonna say we got a lot of good new music to choose from then or at least we hope it's good I haven't. I haven't heard the fuji kaze yet, but he has not disappointed me in the past so I will no, no, I will keep the faith that it will catch my attention.
Speaker 2You heard that he was opening for Billie Eilish out in Japan. Yes, that was so cool. So many pictures of the both of them together and I'm like, oh my God, that's so cool Because I also like collaboration, collaboration. Billie Eilish and Kasei That'll be cool.
Speaker 1No, I'm sorry, I'm also seeing the be first announcement. It's so weird to see just six of them another one, another person going on graduation yep wow what else have we got straight kids also drop a new album.
Speaker 2Oh, yes, girl, that song ceremony. Karma, karma, karma, karma oh jeez, I'm like why not call it karma, but it's called ceremony, but that's okay yeah, sometimes, yeah, you're like you know that song family and I, we are enjoying that because I'm like hip, hip and they go hooray, hooray. That is cool. Oh, and, by the way, the family and I were turning a few of our friends into stays oh, okay, because we play their music and whatever, and they're like oh, who is that?
Speaker 2oh, I like that one. Oh, and I'm like well, straight kids, and this is you know him being. And, uh, the cutie blonde one is felix, my favorite. Oh, my god, that voice, um. So they're starting to like oh, I like this group and I'm like yay awesome so yeah, I'm glad, I'm glad oh, day six just dropped a new album too.
Speaker 1Oh, awesome, I did not. Fourth full album, one the decade jeez, it's been a while since we saw them I know they have gone through some auto bs as well. Yes, yes, they have, but so it's been tough for them. Fourth album just came out. Yay, awesome for them. What was that? Oh my gosh, did you see one? Okay, rock, did taka break his foot?
Speaker 2yeah something happened. Yeah, oh yeah. Family were devastated. I was like they quickly sent me a that and I'm like what happened to taka taka? What did you do? Were you playing around with sushi? And I tripped that happens?
Speaker 1yeah, I think it might have been while he was doing all that running around he does on stage and leaping and spazzing out, you know. So that could be it too. But wish him a speedy recover, whatever it was, whatever he did.
Speaker 2He's still touring, oh yeah, no, he's still doing like touring, or whatever.
Speaker 1But I think that he's less active. We'll see what happens, because he even showed an x-ray.
Speaker 2Yeah, he did.
Speaker 1And it definitely looked like one of those metatarsals was cracked. Something was yeah, so ouch is all I can say.
Speaker 2Shouldn't he be wearing a boot or something? You know one of those flexible boots? I don't know, I have not seen him wearing something on his foot.
Speaker 1maybe they're just not showing it yeah that could be yeah, when I saw that I I immediately thought of family. I was like, oh no, family's gonna be like my taco.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, no, family are all like and I'm like oh well, you know, it happens, it happens. Oh man, dave growl, remember when he broke his leg in the middle of a show? Remember that he was out in sweden, he was out in you, it was one of his european legs. Uh, let me look at me. Like what year?
Speaker 1well it is. They call it the leg of the tour. But yeah he broke his leg.
Speaker 2What? Year was that oh my god, this is like second or third for fighter album. This is like long time ago. Um, he was doing, he, I think he tripped over the cord, fell over the stage and he was just laying on the floor.
Speaker 1He came back and finished the show right while the russian.
Speaker 2Yeah, okay, I do remember that, I do he was like um, you're telling me that I I have to go to the hospital, um, but the guys will take over me. So, supposedly, the rest of the group were doing karaoke songs because they like to. You know, as a band they just do karaoke for fun. Yep, so they were just karaoke until they I don't know whatever they did. And he's like well, I'm just gonna keep this, you're gonna continue with sitting down with something he was on but they were telling him.
Speaker 2I remember that yeah, so I do remember that. Now he's like I'm just gonna continue here with the pain. Oh, speaking of um, but this one dinosaur jr I just heard because I just, you know, I know, I know people who manage them um, jay apparently had to cancel the um west side uh tour because he um, because of his throat, something was going on so he had to um cancel that.
Speaker 2So that was a short for the summer, so I don't know if he's better now, though, but anyways. But yeah, no, our faves also get hurt. Yes, they do so. Be nice to them. They need some loving, especially when they hurt. Now they're singing and dancing or just prancing around and miss the chord, and here we go. But don't yeah, anyways.
Speaker 1Well, oh my gosh, years and years and years ago, poor iba fell through a hole in a stage.
Speaker 2Oh my god, like that happened on rio tattoo and uh one, okay, rock, oh really yes. Oh my God he did. I was like what the hell? That was years, years ago.
Speaker 1Yeah, this was a long time ago, like 2006,. Maybe that Aiba like, or he, missed the edge of the stage, but I think it was one of those like little pop-up holes and he sort of half fell into it. One leg went in. Oh my God, it was like ah, okay, god it was like ah, it wasn't Ryota, it was Toru.
Speaker 2Now I remember Toru, the guitarist Toru.
Speaker 1Anyways, it's dangerous to be up there. Show broke his thumb doing something you told me. Nino also hurt himself. Yep, and not just our J-pop boys, but our K-pop boys. Rm broke a thumb once, jin broke a finger or chopped half his finger off. I don't even they kept that secret. Whatever he did to his hand was a secret. Yeah.
Speaker 2Poor Young Gi and his shoulder.
Speaker 1Yep, yep, everybody.
Speaker 2Yeah, injuries everywhere.
Performer Injuries and Recovery
Speaker 1Well, I mean, you know, you think about, like the way they dance, the choreography they're doing and things. You know. I mean Jimin, like his knees are constantly taped up. Yeah, you know, I mean it's harsh, it's, it's a tough.
Speaker 2When they're debuting the dances and the choreo, the choreo, like please the choreo. Sometimes they can get those you know not aerobic backflips and whatever.
Speaker 1Oh, acrobatics.
Speaker 2Acrobatics that just really, you know, hurt your knees, your ankles, your hips.
Speaker 1Your back. Yeah, yeah, oh no.
Speaker 2That's why, when they're like older or you know, they're not doing as much as that.
Speaker 1Well, my boy Junsuki injured his back falling from one of the you know they swing him around on whatever right repelling equipment and he fell and injured his back. He was never the same, oh wow. So you know that's why he's a host now. Just gotta sit there and look pretty, he doesn't have to do any acrobatics? Hello my princess Aerialist maneuvers.
Speaker 2My princess, thank you for coming. I'm here for you. You look so pretty, this outfit for me. Thank you very much. There you go, sarah. Go see him, I will.
Speaker 1If I ever get over there, Be like walk around with this picture. Where does he work?
Speaker 2Right, I'm looking for this host. I want to go to see them. Oh man, just right away. Champagne, hey, hey, hey, and that's it. That's all I can afford. Bye. I just came to look, oh man oh my god, oh, anyways, okay, well, let's leave it like that yeah, I think we've.
Speaker 1We've, uh, we've talked about the topic you did solo, yes, but a little more in depth and in reference to specific groups that we are hurt to find out this happened with. But hey, I know. Hey, hey say jump, we'll continue I know cheesy and uh yeah, and we touched on a few other random things here and there, so new music coming out that we can listen to definitely some music. We we already have in the works planning. So yeah yeah definitely.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, that one will. Uh, we'll look into it. I know we have something in mind, but you know we'll look into it.
Speaker 1So anything else you can think of?
Speaker 2no, that's it all right, and I'm surprised I'm not following this group. I'm following them now, maybe just okay, never mind, okay. Thank you everybody for listening to this awesome Branson Rambling and Sarah is back from hiatus, yay.
Speaker 1Welcome back, Sarah. I didn't graduate. I'm not getting disciplinary actions.
Speaker 2She said it, not me. She said it, not me.
Speaker 1We didn't disband. It's all good. I was just taking a break she didn't graduate from Music. Elixir.
Speaker 2Oh, my goodness, All right, all right. See, I don't know, I don't know how. I would like to know how people felt about my solo episode, because this is so completely different one is the loneliest number I know I sounded depressed into my. I'm gonna. You know, uh, yourself is your your own critic, your worst critic, oh yeah and I'm just listening to myself and I'm like jeez, it sounds so depressing and this.
Speaker 2You know I wanted to be more upbeat about the being in graduate, you know, graduating out of a group, you know meaning like don't be sad about it because you can still continue seeing your favorite doing something else. But now I'm like jeez, why do I sound so sad, so morose? I'm like oh, jeez, okay, but anyways, thank you everybody for listening to. To the 25 people who listened to that episode, I, I'm from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you. And they were mainly in japan. So thank you, thank you, thank you for thank you, thank you.
Speaker 1And they were mainly in Japan. So, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 2Thank you so much for being so loving and supportive, and somebody did actually react. I'm like this is an open conversation. Please tell me how you feel. And somebody did so. Thank you very much, and it was a fan from the ABCZ.
Speaker 1Oh, wow.
Speaker 2Because, remember, one of the members left on 2023, so, uh, this fan was saying that, uh, when that happened, they were listening to their debut song constantly. You know, to remember the good times as a five member group. So I'm like, oh, that's awesome, see, you know well, that's what you do.
Speaker 1You do, yeah, when, when a group, when something happens and a member's gone away, you, you do. You go back to that original stuff and you listen to it and cry to yourself remember this time is awesome.
Speaker 2I do want to say that when w all left monster x oh my god, dude, I was listening to the first their first album, trespass, was like one repeat and I'm like but you know, we still follow one, oh, you know, as a solo career, and we still follow monster x because we love them we do and I come to boston, damn it I was gonna say will they honor those tickets I still have?
Speaker 2I still have mine too. You do, you found it, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do. I should post it for funsies and be like monster x. You better come to boston. You owe us. Speaker 2Did you see that?
Speaker 1Yes, the Keep Verde. I know I was like, oh, where's this Cabo Verde Nice.
Speaker 2Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Also, now that you said that keeping the archive, I've been listening to um other podcasters, uh, and they're like rehashing their older episodes because they weren't able to keep them. Oh, so they're like re, yeah, but this is not from our host, it's from another. They're using something else and they're like oh, I pulled this one from like their archives because it was gone, so they had they put it up again. And I'm like oh, that is funny, and it was two, two podcasters that I followed.
Speaker 1And they just because I mean, I do actually still have all of our episodes on my own little drive, right, but you know, so we, we could do, but luckily our fabulous platform, buzzsprout, has been keeping it all there.
Speaker 2Knock on wood, I know, so you know, if you become a subscriber, you're helping us to keep those and people are coming back to like the. Our cast our first kaze yeah, I saw it's gaining momentum. Of course, our first Johnny's West is for some reason religiously being listened to by fans.
Speaker 1Yeah, there's what just the other day, like within a four day span, 50 like new listens to it. Yeah, and I was like that episode did we say it was like three years ago? Yeah, so, yeah, people are going back, or new people who have just found us. Thank you for going back and checking out other stuff. We definitely have a variety of artists we've talked about. Oh yeah, it's a lot to choose from.
Closing Thoughts and Thanks
Speaker 2I know that lately we have been talking 250 plus episodes. Yeah, yeah, over 250. Yeah over 250. Yeah, um, and we know, lately we've been talking a lot for japanese artists, but we have talked about the philippines um, also from taiwan um thailand, thailand as well, so you know chinese as well.
Speaker 2So it's so there's like older episodes that you can find those. But since lately our audience is mainly in Japan, and they're like could you please talk about this and that? Well, send us a request, tell us about your group that we have not talked about, please.
Speaker 1Yeah, or an album we haven't talked about that you're you know. Hey, you've mentioned this group, but they've got this whole album. That's amazing and we'll check it out and do a deep dive Girl.
Speaker 2I found these two groups. One is from Taiwan. It's a rock band I can't wait for you to listen to, all right. And then one from Japan that I'm like whoa, love, I can't wait for you to listen to. I have already played their songs on OK Asia because I was like whoa and they just came up on my Instagram algorithm. Then I'm like, yeah, I'm going to play you guys, cool Anyways. So until next time, yeah, all right.
