A brand-new Japanese boy group is getting more than hype, they’re getting receipts. STARGLOW has fans flooding our request form, and once we sat down with their tracks, we understood why: powerful vocals, clean production, and a real sense of range for a group that’s still under a year into their journey.
We talk through where STARGLOW comes from: the audition show The Last Piece and the BMSG world built by Sky-Hi. Then we introduce the five members (Adam, Kanon, Goichi, Rui, and Taiki) and dig into the songs that define their early era. “Moonchaser” pulls you in with a smooth hook and a vocal blend that feels instantly credible. “Love Myself '26” brings bright, playful self-confidence, while “Green Light” turns the same empowerment into something heavier and more driven. And when “Star Wish” hits with guitar-led pop, we both catch that unmistakable 90s boy band nostalgia without it feeling like a throwback gimmick.
The big debate is “USOTSUKI” (possibly read as “liar): why does a song that sounds so upbeat carry a title that dark? We also get into “Good Boys Anthem,” including the surprising writing credits for Taiki and Goichi, plus what the translated lyrics suggest about standing your ground without losing your heart. We wrap with what’s next, including their July 22 release, live DVD and Blu-ray, and the upcoming single “Driving My Life.”
If you’re curious about STARGLOW, hit play, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave us a five-star review, then tell us your take: what do you think “USOTSUKI” is really saying?

Welcome And Fan Requests
SPEAKER_03Hey there, welcome everybody. You're joining Music Elixir for another talk. I am Sara Shee, and with me is Mr.
SPEAKER_01Japanic.
SPEAKER_03Grab your beverage of choice and join the conversation.
SPEAKER_01Welcome Sarah gives me a crazy look. It's the crazy eyes. Just like I'm saying it. I'm saying the beverage of choice. You can't stop me. No, you can put the you edit. So you can't just take that out if you want. You can take me out if you want saying that.
SPEAKER_03Nah. No, because this is part of what we do. The shenanigans, the craziness.
SPEAKER_00And the sassiness.
SPEAKER_01So I just want to say thank you, everybody, who has been listening to the episodes. And also those who actually have gone to our Music Elixir Google form and just tell us who you want to or for or you want us to talk about. And this group, there was, I want to say over 75 requests. Wow. For this group to be talked to about. Wow. It was like this one, this one, this one. I'm like, okay, okay. They're from Japan. They're amazing. They're awesome. They're new. They're this and that. And I'm like, their fans are very passionate. So I'm gonna say, uh, you know, fans, thank you. And uh for those who are listening and they're like, who are they talking about? And what is this? What is this form? You can find this form on our show notes. So on each episode, if you go into the show notes, you will find a link of that form, and then you can just click on it, we'll take you to a Google form, just to let you know. And you know, just follow the questionnaire. You can either leave us a feedback or you want to comment on one of the episodes, or you want to let us know, hey Sarah, did you panic? Have you heard of so-and-so? They're this and that, and you give us a little bit of information on the group, solo artists, whoever it is. And if we get a lot of that artist, we'll do a deep dive, just like we're gonna do right now. Yes, talk right now, because this this group apparently is very which is true, it's popping lately in Japan, and their fans will like them to go global. And I think for this company, they're not afraid of doing that. No, definitely not, not afraid of doing that because one of their let's say senpai groups have actually collaborated and actually
Why Starglow Has Buzz
SPEAKER_01perform on stages in North America. Yes, they have. We've seen them, so yes, and we have. So, with all that encrypted language, we are going to chat about StarGlow. Yes, so Starglow is a new boy group from Japan, like I was saying before, known for their powerful vocals, lively dances routines, and distinctive BMSG style. The five member joined forces through the audition show The Last Piece, created by rapper, producer, and BMS and BMSG, founder, Sky High. This band has so many talents. Yeah, so many talents. Police. So Star Globe was officially formed on September 19th of 2025. So they're like they're they're gonna be hitting a f their first anniversary soon. Yes. Almost almost a year together. Just to remind everybody, just let you know, we are recording on June 27th. So they debuted, like I was saying, on September 19th of 2025. But on January 21st of this year, 2026, they actually did the actual debut. I mean, the group debuted on the 21st, but the actual official debuted on January of 21st of this year. So in under a year, the group and fander fans known as stars have quickly become one of Japan's most promising new acts. And yes, these fans are very passionate. Like I said, we had over quests just to talk about the group. This is awesome. Now, Stargirl stands out with a fresh sound, polished performance, and heartfelt music. They're not just BSMG's next generation talent, but also artists who are already making strong impact on Japan's music scene.
Member Introductions And Early Biases
SPEAKER_01And I would like Sarah to introduce the boys.
SPEAKER_03Alright. So we have Adam. Should I do the whole thing? Yeah, go ahead. April 24th, 2005. He's a Taurus. Year of the rooster. They haven't really got defined positions at this point. So I'm not sure. I know one of them's listed as a rapper. Right. But he they didn't give him like an official position name.
SPEAKER_01No, uh, but he apparently he does vocals and dance.
SPEAKER_03Well they sort of all do. It's I was thinking more of you know, like lead vocal, lead rapper. They don't yeah, they don't they haven't specified all that yet.
SPEAKER_01So maybe they're still don't quote me on it, but I think this is the first group that they're not gonna do traditional boy bands repositions.
SPEAKER_03Yes. That would make sense, which is cool. It's a new generation. Try to, yeah, try to give everybody the overall experience. So next we have Canon, April 3rd, 2006. He's an Aries year of the dog. Go dogs. Woo! Let's see, we've got Goichi. He's one who's listed, well, not listed, but he has the low-tone rap. So if you're hearing that deeper rap voice in the songs, you're hearing Goichi, December 14th, 2006. Sagittarius, another year of the dog. Wow. I know, right? We have Rui, June 1st, 2007, Gemini, Year of the Pig. And finally, Taiki, baby. We love our babies. June 28th, 2007. Leo, year of the pig. Oh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Two of the year of the dog, two of the year of the pig. Mm-hmm. What was the other one?
SPEAKER_03The other one was year of the rooster rooster.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_03Interesting. And Adam is actually half Japanese, half Australian. Everyone else is straight up from Japan. But he was born in Tokyo, so he counts. Of course. Oh, that's cool. And I already have a favorite. You already have a favorite. Who is your favorite? Canon. Okay. And interestingly, you know, I was like, oh, look at the bottom. Who's your bias? You do a little vote thing.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I put in my vote for him. He's like fifth. I don't understand. He's a cutie patootie. Oh, okay. They're all cutie patooties, actually. So. But I don't know. The minute I saw him, I was like, oh, he's got something. He's got something. So where are you Ken and Fans at?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Sarah will be with you. Supporting him. Yeah. So we did a well, right? We listened to some of these songs. Yes, we can. We pick kind of like the ones that attract us the most. Now, let me tell you, this is really good for a new band, new group. Their songs are all good. Mm-hmm. Yeah, they are. They have range, the ranges are changing. You know, there's not only one tone. I like their versatility that they have on each song. And just, yeah, how they can change from a happy-go-lucky song to a very like eh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Power song, yeah. I like that the music styles definitely range. You've got some sort of jazzy sounding stuff like mood music, you know, cool vibes and some angsty stuff and some sweet stuff. And it's all like good variety. And again, that's probably as a a new group, they're trying to test out where they want to go, what they want to do. Right.
SPEAKER_01You know, trying to find their sound. Yeah. Their signature sound. Right now they're just Most of the songs, of course, I we know that produced by Sky High. I'm sure the group is they're looking for their own sound too, you know, and with the guidance of Sky High, of course. Yes.
Moon Chaser Hooks And Vocal Blend
SPEAKER_01So let's talk about Moon Chaser, which is a pre-debuted intro song.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01That was, of course, released in September of last year of 2025. What I like about this is just it's enough, like, wow. You know, there's always that if you you're you know, you're a rookie group to inform me. If the song doesn't papau me, I'm like, oh what were they doing? I know. But then if I see like uh if I see them perform, I'll be like, oh my god, yes, they are really good. But on this one, and of course that is already out there, uh not auditions, but performances for this for this sound from from from Moon Chaser, it did catch me, catch my my attention. I was like, oh my goodness, yes, this group is going places. I do like their vocals. Production, of course, is amazing. Thank you, Sky High. But the voices, their delivery, the way they pronounce, they put the project themselves. Moonchaser, I was like, Yes, this group is going places. I do really like what I hear. What was it?
SPEAKER_03The oh na na na. Oh na na na fly me to the moon. It's can you fly me to the moon?
SPEAKER_01Right. It's yeah, their voices, it but their voices was also the key that got me. Oh yeah. Because sometimes you can you can hear that voice that's like, oh, okay. But this is really good blend. It's a very good blend.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, especially because that what it is, that ooh na na na na na na na does catch you because you can hear, you can hear all the voic vocal ranges in there. They're sort of even though it's a chant, it's not really singing, singing. It's more of a you you catch all those little sounds. And like you said, it's it's not an angry in your face debut, but it's also not a like la-di-da, here we are debuting. It's it's that in between that just is catchy enough to get your attention without like making you go, whoa, whoa, what is what's happening? It's just very smooth and very uh inviting sounding. It's very just gets you in that place where you're like, Yeah, I'm gonna sort of sing along because it's catchy. It is catchy. And it's just I like the the idea of can you fly me to the moon? I'm not sure what all of the lyrics are saying and stuff, but this is for a debut to be like, yeah, let's all like latch onto each other and shoot off into the sky, take off and fly me to the moon. So awesome. Very good, and like you said, production, but we know based on who's we know who produces come on, we know who produces. Nothing less from him. No.
SPEAKER_01So um, yeah, really, really, really good introduction song. Love, love, love, love. All the songs that in between
Utsuki Meaning Plus Teen Dating Tangent
SPEAKER_01that we like, Sarah likes a lot. Usu. Utsu.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Uso tsuki. Tongue twister for us. I'm sure for you in Japan, it's not a tongue twister, but for us it is. Give me your vibes, because you're like, I really like this one.
SPEAKER_03Well, I think because it sounded like when they're saying, Take it back, can I take it back? I was like, what what are they trying to take back? Because I was like, it sounds sort of like an apology, almost like this is a a peppy breakup song. Cause it's not, it's not a slow, like dramatic song. Right. It's not that torchy, like, oh my god, yeah, but it's it sounds like someone who's like, I made a mistake, but I don't know like what's the mistake. And I looked up what Utotsuki means, yes, and it's liar or fibber. Okay. So I so that sort of changed the tone to me because I was like, well, wait a minute. You know, when I was listening to, I was like, this sounds like someone who's, you know, again, they were something was going on, and maybe they said something wrong, and they're like, I want to take it back. And then when I read what the the title meant, I was like, So wait a minute. Were they leading someone on? Like, did they say I love you? And then they're like, Oh, I I want to take it back because I'm a liar, or was it that they were in love, but they said, Oh, you know, this ain't working for me, and that's what makes them a liar and they want to take it back. So I was like, wow, I'm really like at first I was like, it's a remorseful song, and then I was like, but is it? Because were they like regretting saying they cared about you or are they regretting saying they didn't care about you? I don't know. But either way, I really just I liked the sound of the song. It was very just it felt positive, which is why at first I was like, oh, this was a I said something I shouldn't have, and I want to take it back. But then I was like, hmm, liar, hmm, what are they where do we go with this? So but it was really I don't know if there was something about it just really sort of grabbed my attention and got into my head. So I was listening to I was listening to it a lot.
SPEAKER_01Hmm.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. What did you think about it?
SPEAKER_01Don't really mean the meaning of like the song, but the catchiness, yes, it was heavily requested on OK Asia. Oh really? Oh yeah, it was heavily requested. And I'm like, really, guys? Okay. So everybody else likes it too. They say the newest one that came out, which we're gonna talk about, was requested, but not as much as this song. And I'm like, wow, why is that? So I wonder if the meaning in Japan, of course, because we still don't know Japanese much, how it goes, you know. I mean, if you're talking about hey, I lied to you or I'm deceiving you, and but it sounds so peppy, and so like, yeah, right. But who's deceiving who and who's do you why the fans like this one this much? It's amazing. Vocals are awesome. Production, of course, a tier. I it's very peppy. Yeah, so that's why, like, I don't know, it's like uh I'm a liar in a cheerful way.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, take it back, take it back. If only I could take it back. I'm like, like I said, it was at first it was it was just a very feel-good, like, oh, he's sorry and he wants to take back, you know, something bad he said. But then I was like, well, if he's a liar, did he say something and now he wants so was he leading me on?
SPEAKER_01Well, we know how young they are. I mean, oh seven, oh six, oh five. I'm like, this is more of a mature take, but I mean for us it's just babies. So it's like, what are you talking about? Who are you like to? Are you back in the middle school? What are you doing? Yeah, um, but yeah, uh musically, it's awesome. Uh the message, I'm kind of don't know where to go here. Um lying, not yeah, definitely we don't like none of that. We don't like that. But if it's like reverseful of lying to this person, I'm glad they put it in a more in a peppy instead of like torchy. Like, I am sorry I lied to you and I regret lying to you.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's why I was I was thinking it's more that they're they're sorry they said something, you know, that they shouldn't have. Like or that um, like I said, I I like my original idea that they were together and they said, Oh, it's not working, and now I want to take it back. That's you know, yeah, because you know, young people in love, you're like, Oh no, this is too heavy, too much for me. And then you're like, no, really, I I was enjoying it, and I wish I had held on to that, you know.
SPEAKER_01So that's what you know. This when I hear some of my co-workers that their children are dating at Taines, I'm like, why? Why? That is like you this is this this is when you live life.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you'll always you always live life every day, but like your teenage years when you don't have to work, you don't have to pay bills, you don't have to do this and that, just only you know, go to the movies, hang out with friends. Yes, you cannot do all the things you want to do because you don't have the money because you have to go to work to gain money, anyways. What I'm saying is like, why you want to date? Oh, you like that person, okay. But guess what? They're gonna be complete assholes one day. And you know, and and kids, you know, it's like, oh, so-and-so likes me now that I'm dating. What? Then this drama doesn't why no, don't date, don't date. It's just don't date in your teens, maybe in your mid-twenties.
SPEAKER_03Well, but I mean, yeah, I was gonna say, maybe, maybe not like because when you're young, everything seems so much bigger, so much, you know, because we used to like hang out in groups, and if you had a crush, you sort of gravitated to each other, but it was always group settings with me and my friends, so there was no like dating dating until I was dynamic changing.
SPEAKER_01A little older.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, it's like oh well, your mood changes, your your tastes change, you know.
SPEAKER_01It's like it sucks because it's like you are with your girlfriends, and then your girlfriends likes uh I always you know, you and I were were were the type of person that had guy friends and of course the girlfriends. One of your girlfriends likes one of your guy friends, and oh, and then it turns into a mess.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Turns into a mess.
SPEAKER_01It's always like, no, no. I'm like, oh, here we go. Now I have no friends. Because that's what happens. Oh, why are you talking to so-and-so? I thought you were my friend. Like, really? And especially that's the girls. Why are you talking with it? Well, and then yeah, broke my heart, and me, me, me.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. I was gonna say, if it's not reciprocated or they end up breaking up, yeah, you're the bad guy for staying friends with your friends. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just never liked that. Like, yeah, it's like, no, no. That's like, can we all be friends? He's my friend and he's cool. You know, we like to say music, he's like, and whatever. We hang. He's my friend. He's my friend. Hey guys, you know, girls cannot be friends. Yes, they can be friends. I don't know. Well, you yeah, some people are like that, but yes, definitely there are people like that.
SPEAKER_03Whatever.
SPEAKER_01So, anyways, we do like that's what we were saying because we went on a tangent. Like teenagers should not be dating, in my opinion. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Because it's very interesting. Like I said, my my take on it because of the music in what they were saying. But then when I re realized what the title meant, I was like, oh, that sort of changes it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Not drastically, but enough that you're like, oh, hmm, my perspective's a little different on what their intent was. Where is this I want to take it back come from? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01There's two songs that I like. They're both kind of the same meaning. And one, of course, one of them that I say at the end of my program is love yourself.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yep, yep.
SPEAKER_01That one's really cool. I'm just, I'm sorry, I'm moving on to another song.
Love Myself As A Mood Booster
SPEAKER_03If you guys okay, yeah. So I caught the transition. Don't worry.
SPEAKER_01So, you know, here goes the happy go-lucky song. You know, I always when you hear that those little like the fanfares, you know, the the trumpets is going on. I'm like, oh, this is gonna be a happy-go-lucky song. Yeah, and does it does. It has the hip-hop feels, RB, vocals, and rap. These raps are not on, you know, in your face with attitude. This is just like, you know, ta-da-da-da-da-da, you know, just talking with your friends type of uh vibes. It the song is just bright, upbeat, just playful, and has like cute touches. Like for some reason, it's like with the music, it has some cuteness, cute touches. It's just like you can hear the sprinkles, it's so cute. Um, they the focus message, of course, is just loving yourself. And of course, in one point they or in they are encouraging you to love yourself. So I was like, uh, of course. This is something that you know, this is good to play, like uh like a you wake up song, just put it. This will be oh, okay, love yourself.
SPEAKER_03It's a cool, it's so cute. It is, and you know what though, there was a couple of like while I was driving and listening to it, there's like this little tone a couple of times during the The love myself, you know, during the course. I was like, is that my car? Like, I was like, I'm is something dinging. That's the cuteness. That's what I'm calling it. Exactly. And I was it took me a minute to be like, oh wait, it's part of the song. Okay. Because yeah, it's just this little like.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00It's like this little like calling them the cuteness. And it goes very well. It goes very well. No, no, no. It's very cute.
SPEAKER_03It is. It's very, very feel-good. And this is the one I was thinking sort of like it has sort of like a jazzier beginning. It's but playful. That's why it's playful, because it's sort of jazzy. And but yeah, the the message overall, because I learned to love who I am. Do you love yourself? Because I love myself. You know what I mean? And it's like, yeah, it's really just about positivity and saying I may have flaws. I don't know exactly what they say, but I still love myself. And I'm gonna keep doing what I do and be me. But yeah, it's definitely just a mood booster.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. I I like I say, I recommend this song to be waking up to because like, oh, it's a song, have a good day.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_01So you finished you didn't finish, you finished or you yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03No, I was that was that was all. I was like I said, it was it was playful, it was a little jazzy, it's uplifting. It was just that tone that's
Green Light Motivation With Edge
SPEAKER_03like it's the cute the sprinkle.
SPEAKER_01Another empowering song, which I just I I put them together is the green light. Oh my goodness. This one, of course, is not cutesy. I mean the tone, but this is more empowering as was like you have the green light to go forward. I have the green light to do what I want, you know. Also empowering your the fans of yeah, their struggles, but you still have the green light to just go for it. Vocal delivery, completely different. We're not having the more sweetness or talkative. The rap is right there, like, yeah, I got I'm strong, I can do this, I got the green light, I'm doing it. Same thing with the vocals. The vocals in this group are just so good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they're very so good, very smooth and very strong.
SPEAKER_01This this in this audition, they oh my god, the judges pick him very well. Of course, that's gotta be sky high and all the people, I'm assuming. And uh, but another one that is just giving you the green light. Yeah, are you okay? Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. They're over there listening. Are you listening to something?
SPEAKER_03Making sure my phone's off. Oh, okay. You know, sometimes we get those mystery dings. Okay. Go for it. Well, I was gonna say, yeah, this one again, the the vocals, they're smooth, but they're strong. I like that when they're singing green light, it's sort of I don't know, it's a forceful whisper at times almost. They're like they go deeper, like their voices, they they drop the an octave or so. I don't know, not quite that drastic, but it's a little more powerful in the message of give yourself a green light to just go go for it. Give me a green light to go for what I want to go for, you know what I mean? And it's very I like the guitar work in it, sort of up and down, but again, it's a deeper, richer sound than say, love myself. I was like, what was the one we were just talking about? Happy go lucky, love myself. Right. So, like you said, it's it's really sort of the same message, but just richer sounding, and that's what's good. So their their message overall tends to be very much about Empowering. Empowering, yeah. Because we're gonna talk about another one that is the same thing in a totally different sound as well. So they've got a really good positive message, and they're just presenting it to you in a multiple variety of genres and styles and sound. So you can find the one that rings to you and sticks with you and really sort of meshes with how you're feeling at the moment. And yeah, so this one, it's another one that would be good for, you know, midday motivation, like where you're like, I I'm not ready to be super peppy, but I want to feel like I can do this and that it's good to move forward.
SPEAKER_01I can go ahead and we your description, this will be a good after-lunch song. Because after you eat lunch and you just like you're kind of relaxed, you have to like, all right, green light, I have to go. I have to do this. Uh I have I have I got I got this, I gotta do this. So this will be your song. Like, yes,
Star Wish And 90s Boy Band Vibes
SPEAKER_01we gotta do this. You're in power, you can do it. Now, let's not forget Star Wish. Now, Star Wish is the official debut single on January 2026. Ah, okay. Uh, now this song, oh my goodness, this is all out giving me 90s boy band vibes. I was like, yes, the guitar-driven pop with an uplifting, just hopeful message. Just because, you know, we're here, we have the beauty, and it's just the guitar at the beginning. I'm like, yeah, yeah, I know. Yeah, that that twangy down. I'm like, oh, I know this feels. Yes, you're catching me, my high boys. Now, this is you know, it it just strong it attention, and also this one's strong also for the media in Japan. They're really boosting this song when it came out. Just introducing this song was introducing to Japan a wider, wider audience, and yes, wider audience because it's just not only they're fans of their own age, but hello, somebody like me who have grown up listening to boy bands and just listening to that tone. I'm like, oh yeah, this boy's got my heart. It got my heart. And the vocals in this one again, whoo, the rap deliveries. Oh my goodness. Like, oh, they got my attention. Oh my goodness, I got goosebumps. I got goosebumps. So I am very happy for also this song as their debut song. Because I mean, we have falsettos, we have the uh just the strong delivery, not in your face, but just strong enough to get your attention. But uh uh again, the tone with the like I said, my nostalgia of boy bands. I think Sky High was thinking of me. And it's like, oh, this one's gonna be the Japanese gonna like this one. I know the Lulu head over here.
SPEAKER_03Well, I was gonna say he's probably like, This is what I remember growing up, this is what I was listening to.
SPEAKER_01So yes, this I know that that's one of my faves. Then it's like, Yes, I am happy, happy, happy, happy.
SPEAKER_03Well, I like the twangy guitar at the beginning again. That's very catchy, very catching. I was gonna say this one's another one too, with a like a positive message. You know what I mean? Like one wish, let it be hold on to my wish to wish. And I was thinking, like, is this for the fans? Stars, star, wish, you know what I mean? Like, it's okay to have a dream and to go for it and to move forward with it. Again, this is all positivity, and yeah, that that falsetto. Whoever's doing that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was like, I can't even do it. No, it's just no, you need to have that range to get to that exactly.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, it's just all very, very catchy. Like I said, I just I really like the positivity flowing through all of this music. Like, you just don't let go of dreams, keep going, give yourself the green light, love yourself. You know what I mean? These are all very positive messages, and I think for themselves too, this is sort of like their wish list. Do you know what I mean? What we want to do, what we want to accomplish, where we want to go. So it's just good vibes all around, and very again, another one that's just so catchy. And it it does, it sticks in your mind, it stays there, mulls around a little bit. Yeah. Definitely, I would say, yeah, this is a good playlist that we're running along here with these songs. Variety of of sound and texture and vocal range. A really good showcase of what they're doing. And I'm really looking forward because apparently they're releasing another like mini album EP in July July 22nd, I think.
SPEAKER_01They're soon too because I mean their first anniversary is coming up soon in September. But um I'm looking forward to what else they're gonna have going on. The last song that they have released was uh Good Boys Anthem, which is just kind of raw.
Good Boys Anthem And Writing Credits
SPEAKER_03This was one of my favorites, and I was like, wow, this is really a strong, like bam. Yeah, this is the in your face.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is strong vocals. This is I don't didn't check the lyrics for this one. I'm just going by title and tone of voice, but of course, lately that doesn't go. I know, right? Good boys anthem. I said, Were you really a good boy, or you're really bad, but you're saying you're boy, you're good, you know.
SPEAKER_03Well, the music makes it sound like bad boys, yeah. But I sort of got the impression that what they're saying is like, we're good boys, and people give you a hard time for that. People get down on you for whatever standing your ground, and they're like, we want to be good people every day, but we gotta be like, don't let everyone roll over you. So this is like, yo, whoa, good boys at them. And that's what I like about it's like it's like a chant. It's like uh-uh- uh uh uh uh uh You know they're like so I think I think that they're saying we're good, but don't think that we're just gonna roll over and take any guff from anybody. We're gonna stand by what we believe and what we want, you know, where we're going and what we're doing, and we're gonna be strong about it.
SPEAKER_01The cool thing also about this song is it was written by Taiki and Goichi. Ah. So the boys have like, oh, we're we're making music now. We're making we're writing lyrics. Sorry, Sky High. We're gonna pay, gotta get paid, Sky High. Give us money. I mean, hello. I mean, it's when you are an artist, you you know, you wanna make your own lyrics and put out your own art. So I'm I'm glad about this. I just found that out. I just found that out. I'm like, what?
SPEAKER_03You just looked at the credits.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, actually, this was an article.
SPEAKER_03Oh, really?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh, okay. So that's cool. So let's see.
SPEAKER_03This could be a theme song to something too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. One of those uh boys high school dramas. Yeah, exactly. There you go, good boys anthem, and they're all like, eh. Like, I don't know, uh, a gang with some other gang. Did the bad boys with the book, you know, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, like a click, the good boys click. Yeah, yeah. Only they got a little bit of the the attitude and the sassy and the uh we're not taking no stuff. So of course And of course they could be bad boys, like you said, that because the music really is that. Yeah. And maybe they're being ironic and saying we're good boys.
SPEAKER_01Right. Right. From this article, I can see the the thumbnail of the video. Look like they're bad boys. There's nothing good here. It's dark, they're wearing like jeans, they're wearing one of them looks like almost Yakuza looking.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, excuse me. Alright, so maybe they are using it ironically. Yeah.
unknownWe're good boys.
SPEAKER_01See what I mean? They're like, no, no, you think they're just thinking about being a good boy, but no, they're not. You know, it's just being sarcastic, you know?
SPEAKER_03Here, wait, I cheated, okay. I just did a screenshot of the lyrics and translated. So again, this is Google Translate. It may not be exactly so uh I want to live with a bigger heart than my attitude. There's no need to act tough, and even if someone cries, I won't let them cry. I won't let anyone make fun of me, and I won't make fun of anyone either. I don't have the luxury or time to laugh at anyone. I want to choose a tomorrow where I can laugh with someone. Uh-oh. Is it easier to look at the world cynically with a cold eye? So that's where the so they are. They want to be good boys, but they need to have this attitude to the sound in the music and their presence in order to not get rolled over by the actual bullies.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03So that's again a very positive message. So if these are actually, you know, good Google Translate, we will trans star to let us know.
SPEAKER_01Of course, this is a uh open conversation. You already opened the conversation by asking us to review and talk about the guys. So now it's your turn on the
Upcoming Releases And Final Requests
SPEAKER_01songs. We would like to hear from you and the take on these songs. What do you guys think of them? Especially the last one, which is Good Boys Anthem. This song's gonna be part of the uh album that it's gonna drop uh on July 22nd, just like you were saying. They're also they're gonna be introducing their first ever live DVD and Blu-ray. So please don't forget to get that. Oh, and they're gonna release the third single, Driving My Life. Ooh, I can't wait. Oh, yeah. That's so that's gonna be cool.
SPEAKER_03Sounds good, you know, and I really like the the little cover art for this. The crushed can that says good poison. I like that. That's very good marketing. Yes, yes. Again, that's what Sky High does.
SPEAKER_01So it's I love I love this. I love this group. Yeah, they're really I mean, I mean, just by hearing or just looking at what's going on with their lyrics and what they want to be part of. Oh man, please stay together. Work as a team, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Keep working at it.
SPEAKER_01Work as a team. I mean, I gotta see them perform, not just videos, like the actual performance.
SPEAKER_03Well, I was gonna say, maybe like some of the other artists that have come over here and performed, maybe Sky High will send these guys over and see that will be amazing. It would, that would be awesome. As we know, um course it would be New York, so we'd have to travel, but we'll Boston exists, Sky High.
SPEAKER_01Boston exists. Boston, come on. They're actually bigger venues in Boston than the ones you have been bringing these kids.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's true. There's you know, they're small, there's mid-range, there's big. And they're newer. You have your choice.
SPEAKER_01They're newer clubs. So, anyways, just throwing it out there in the universe and hopefully it will get to his ear.
SPEAKER_03Well, maybe with the the new release coming out in July, we could see them in the fall doing some touring and traveling, maybe.
SPEAKER_01That will be awesome. Again, putting it there in the universe. Anyways. So thank you, everybody. Do you have any other notes?
SPEAKER_03No, no, I was gonna say just check out all their songs. There's like because they did a couple of um collabs that we didn't talk about, but those are good too. Yes, very interesting. Yes, talk about an attitude one, the collab they did with Sky High. So definitely check out their other songs. Oh, yeah. But again, everything's just a good vibe, like you just feel good listening to it. And you know, except for that one questionable song with the liar. Yeah, like what are you? You know, what exactly if the fans can let us know exactly what that one's about, yes. I guess I could Google translate it too. Yeah, I didn't think that.
SPEAKER_01And guess what? Autocon news say that Moonchaser, Star Wish, and Uso Ti are like the most popular in Japan. All right, yeah. So they're that's so Moon Chaser, which is their debut signature song, and really good. Star Wish, which is their official debut song. This I'm reading this from uh Oracon, and then their their fastest rising follow-up release, Utsoki. Ah. So wow. So okay, I we want to know what Usuki means. So yes, please fans, please star, please let us know what's going on. And uh wow. Thank you, thank you, thank you for saying, Hey, please talk about them. So we did a deep dive. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, I do remember vaguely at some point last year, we we knew they were coming out because of all the news, you know, with sky eyes. Because I was like, why do I know that name? But I was like, I don't think we've talked about them, but I remember the name.
SPEAKER_01So we probably talked, we might have done a talk on Moon Chaser, maybe, but we didn't do a deep dive because it was very relatively new group and it was just like one song.
SPEAKER_03There wasn't, yeah, and there wasn't a lot to to go on.
SPEAKER_01So we like let's wait a little bit longer, you know, because things happen sometimes. Yeah, exactly. Um anyway, so wow, this is awesome.
SPEAKER_03Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Thank you everybody for again for sending your requests to talk about this group. Please let us know on the show notes. Star, please let us know. Or on the on like Twitter or anywhere sky, wherever you can find us, let us know about the songs that we talked about, and especially Utsugo, Utsuki, because we we're like, mm. We don't know. So please give us a five-star review. Stars give us five stars. Yay! Five stars. Wherever there's a ranking, and on Spotify, there's a five stars thing. And I think also on Apple Podcasts. So until next time. Bye bye.
