what up, what up. It's time for another round of the nerdy news. I'm gonna go ahead and blaze through all these news this time around and first of all let me say it's a second anniversary for the nerdy news and we're going to eventually do these weekly, starting in 2026, but for time being let's just stick to the monthly format. You know I'm saying so without further ado. Let's go ahead and blaze through all the news that we got for this time around, starting with movies. A five and a half hour stream revealed who we can expect to appear in avengers doomsday. A whole bunch of people like maybe we're gonna get some more folks, but I'm trying to manage my expectations on that. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is now lower on the IMDb score than the number one lowest rated film, all time disaster movie. Not surprised? I'm not surprised, honestly. We finally get an official title For the fourth Spider-Man movie From Tom Holland Spider-Man Brand New Day Coming in theaters July 31st 2026. Okay, okay. And meanwhile we're going to have Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse Coming in June 4th 2027.
Speaker 1:Nintendo just used this new app to announce that the release date for a live-action Legend of Zelda movie is going to be March 26, 2027. A Minecraft movie, shattered Box, offers records of $157 million domestic and $301 million globally, the biggest debut ever for a video game movie adaptation. According to reports, multiple hollywood studios are interested in a film adaptation of split fiction, the new hazelight co-op game that just launched earlier, and ketchup entertainment, which handled the release of the Day the Earth Blew Up, a Looney Tunes movie, and Ferrari. They announced that they have acquired the rights to Coyote vs Acme, the film famously shown by Warner Bros, so that movie might get its theatrical release after all. And finally, for movies, after announcing a hell divers movie, sony has also announced that they will reboot starship troopers. The movie reboot is a new adaptation of the 1959 sci-fi novel rather than a remake of the 1997 movie that heavily inspired hell divers. Uh, that is it for movies. I'm more excited for the spider-man movies and, of course, uh, avengers, doomsday. Uh, congratulations to a minecraft movie. I might review it at some point. I'm also looking forward to that legend zelda movie and I might check out split fiction at some point.
Speaker 1:At some point now, television season eight of brick and morty will be premiering on adult swim on may 25th, a live action scooby-doo series exploring the origins of scooby and in the gang, and it's in works at netflix from the eraverse and riverdale's greg for a live action series on disney plus amazon. God of war tv series has yet to premiere but it's already lined up for two seasons, according to showrunner ronald d moore. The crunchyroll and any place have jointly established a new anime planning and production company, hayate incorporated, comprised of anyplexlex and Crunchyroll staff. Hayate will develop high-quality anime titles for the Crunchyroll streaming service. That's all I got for television news.
Speaker 1:As a Rick and Morty fan, of course I'm ready for Season 8. I did not get around to review Season 7. I'm not gonna around to review season seven. I'm not gonna lie. So what I'm probably gonna do is review season seven and eight as they come, but considering how normally rick and morty have like 10 episodes each, so chances are rick and Morty will probably conclude at like I'm guessing around August. I was going to review season 7 of Rick and Morty in August anyway. So yeah, I'll do season 7, 8, maybe the anime in August.
Speaker 1:Yeah, the live action Scooby Doo series. Honestly, I just hope it is leagues better than Velma. That's all I'll say on that and the fact that Riverdale uh, greg Berlanti's on this that's because Velma wanted to be Riverdale. So fucking bad that I'm like kinda hoping that it's like, yeah, see there, this is the real origin story. Um, you know, like with a pup named scooby-doo and mystery incorporated. Those like I consider those real prequel stories. Like it could be different universes, of course, but like better than zelma. Honestly, digimon beat yeah, I'm kind of glad that Digimon is getting its comeback. Between this and Digimon Time, stranger I'm really hoping for more honestly, and Power Rangers getting a live-action series. I think it's just a new season, but who knows what they got planned for this one. That's all I pretty much gotta say.
Speaker 1:On television, gaming, now gaming this is where it gets kind of thick. So bear with me on this one. So Nintendo unveiled price points on the Nintendo Switch 2 console, mario Kart World console bundle and a slew of accessories to complete your round out to your Nintendo Switch 2 experience, so to speak. Last I checked on it's own the Nintendo Switch 2 is $4.50, but you know people were talking about tariffs and inflation and who the hell knows what the actual price is. It's bad enough that pre-orders got cancelled too, so it might go up higher because they're saying that the parts to make the Nintendo Switch 2 is getting more expensive, so we'll see. But it was revealed that the digital edition of Mario Kart World will cost $80. But if you're getting the Nintendo Switch 2 console and the whole bundle, it'll be $30 less.
Speaker 1:While we're at it, I will say that Kirby's Air Ride is getting a sequel. They say a sequel, but I feel like it's more like a remaster or like a port to it. There's going to be a new Donkey it Like something like that. There's going to be a new Donkey Kong game, donkey Kong Bonanza, dust Bloods, which is like a FromSoftware multiplayer game. Legend of Zelda, hyrule Warriors is getting a sequel. Age of Imprisonment Nintendo GameCube titles are finally coming to Nintendo Switch Online, like I was been saying, saying that should have been a thing, but it's going to Nintendo Switch 2. So that's my main reason why I would get Nintendo Switch 2 at this point.
Speaker 1:A cute thing that Hori accessory manufacturer Hori is doing they are having the official nintendo switch to camera shaped like the piranha plan from mario, super mario, and I thought that was kind of cool. I might get that. You know when I start streaming and shit. And there is a new feature where you can like share virtual game cards that treat digital games more like physical ones, including lending them out to a friend. Uh, while buying digital games on switch consoles will in the future, be treated as a virtual game card that can be loaded, ejected and shared to other switch consoles. But it comes back in like two weeks so it'll automatically return to um, whatnot? So I know it's kind of cool. I thought it was cool. But that's enough about the nintendo switch 2, let's get into other gaming news.
Speaker 1:Marvel rival season 2 begins april 11th with new maps, new skins, new changes to the characters and the newest addition, emma frost, and I cannot wait to play as her because I saw her gameplay. I'm digging her. I really dig her. I like the way she's put together. Monster hunter wilds has become the fastest capcom game ever to surpass 8 million units. Oh, congratulations, congratulations.
Speaker 1:A new report has outlined microsoft video game hardware ambition alleged. A full next-gen xbox is set for 2027 and an xbox branded gaming handheld is due out later in 2025. We'll see, we'll see. Remember roomscapeuneScape. So RuneScape is getting a open-blop survival game called Dragon Wild and set within the RuneScape universe. So I'm kind of interested. I'm going to look into that. Ghost of Yotei New details reiterate that it's going to be set 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima. But as that Atssu will hunt down those responsible for the death of her family, and how she fights, survives and evolves the legend of the ghost will be up to you, okay. So in a sense, like not a direct sequel, but like it is a sequel, I'll still play it. At some point overwatch 2 might drop.
Speaker 1:The two leaks suggest that blizzard is rebranding the game back to overwatch with major season 16 changes. I mean, am I, are we really surprised with? Oh, we're gonna add root boxes that we're gonna add in card and in the matches. Uh, we're gonna do all this. I'm like bruh y'all. It's like kind of embarrassing. Uh, way that turned out anyways. Uh, like I was saying with split fiction earlier, uh, this game is the fastest selling game to date, with over 1 million copies sold in two games. I'm like, yeah, congratulations, split Fiction, I might check it out at some point.
Speaker 1:Super Robot Wars Y is coming to PlayStation 5, nintendo Switch and Steam in 2025. And just to explain Super Robot Wars, it's this gridbased tactical combat RPG that brings units and pilots from a variety of anime together to battle their mutual foes. So it's like, imagine you get Max from Gundam and all that. Like not all of them is going to be there. But I'm kind of interested in what the lineup is going to be this time around, because I used to play Super Robot Wars. It was Super Robot Wars W, either that or J, I don't remember which one for sure, but, like I think, fire Emblem but Mechs. There you go.
Speaker 1:Robert Kirkman confirmed that the Invincible video game is still in the works, along with official announcement teased with animated key art. Saber Interactive has revealed development on Warhammer 40k. Space Marine 3 has begun, okay, okay. And last but not least, in the gaming Well, second last, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the God of War franchise, sony has announced a slew of new merch by vinyl soundtracks and a 67 inch world serpent, plus in-game equipment for God of war, ragnarok and an art exhibition. Now, last thing magic gathering, tarkir, dragon storm coming out later on this week, um, in april 11th. And honestly, I am excited for all the different cards and we're going to have our own little discussion about that when the time comes.
Speaker 1:But that is it for gaming and book news. Here's where things get kind of wild. Apparently, mary Jane Watson is the new Venom in All, new Venom, issue 5. Why? Why, I mean it's not, it's just, it's just like. But speaking of comics, uh, excuse me, sonic the Hedgehog, the Blue Blur, gaunt, the Flashtooth and Shadow's, batman, of course, and the Justice League and Sonic Hedgehog crossover Comic series that will Arrive later this year.
Speaker 1:The Mushoku Tensei author Refused to change the story to Fence Expectations. The author, rifujin Magonote I please Hope I pronounced that at least somewhat accurately is standing firm on a heavily criticized romance subplot involving Rudy, his son and his aunt. His recent statements suggest he's not interested in changing the course. Saying that I don't care what you think. Course, saying that I don't care what you think I'm like. You know I don't really fuck with the whole incest relationship thing, but I do respect someone that's standing on business as far as like a writer's point of view, because I'm trying to write original stories and my main thing is I want to write a story that I want to tell first and then hopefully a lot of people might like it. That's the thing it's like. Sometimes you just gotta write your own story instead of like letting the fans write the story for you, because otherwise it's not even your story. You know what I'm saying. Uh, that's it for book news.
Speaker 1:Uh, as far as music, nothing really came across my dashboard, uh, so to speak. So sorry about that, but I got a couple of miscellaneous news and I'm done. For starters, ayami izaki speaks out about his disapproval of chat gpt users generating images, images, images using the iconic Studio Ghibli art style. I kind of agree. I mean the example. I've seen it on social media and it's kind of funny. Not going to lie, but getting a little out of hand almost was a disrespectful level. But you know how it is with people on the internet they don't care. They don't care. It's sad, but it is what it is.
Speaker 1:Yu-gi-oh and Nike is collaborating on two Nike Air Max 95s scheduled to release this fall. The Nike Air Max 95 was unofficially included in the Yu-Gi-ioh manga, known as the air muscle and worn by, uh, joey wheeler. That's cool, that's actually pretty cool. That's nice.
Speaker 1:And we got some science news. For starters, canadian team and my coke since sorry if I butchered that pronunciation invented an LED flashlight powered by hand heat instead of batteries. Her design used peltier tiles to convert thermal energy into electricity and earned widespread recognition at the Google Science Fair. This breakthrough may inspire future advancement in clean energy technology like that. I like that and elsewhere.
Speaker 1:In the philippines, angelo has a mural. A 15 year old inventor has created a small, a smart shoe insole that generates electricity while you walk, enough to charge small usb devices. And using 5z electric materials, he, his invention, can charge a 400 um battery watch, I don't know m8, after just eight hours of jogging showcasing the power of motion. So, between a flashlight that can be powered by the heat of your hand and a shoe, a shoe insole that can charge small usb device on my damn like you, can be a human battery for real.
Speaker 1:But that is it for miscellaneous news and that is it for the nerdy news.
Speaker 1:Uh, as far as developments, I would like to say that I am working on a whole bunch of things like anime lightning. I'm going to be doing a thing where, season by season, I'm just gonna do like maybe anywhere between 10 to 20 anime that we might not do a full review on but at least worth a mention, like just sometimes I would like to review something but I'm thinking, dang, I don't have a whole lot to say about it. So I just said, you know, let's just bunch them all together into making anime lightning, so I just shoot up a whole bunch of quick reviews in one segment. Another thing we are working on a YouTube channel to where we're trying to import the nerdy news and reviews, so to speak, on there we're going to do streams, we're going to do a whole bunch of other things. Like a whole bunch of things.
Speaker 1:I would just say so, give us some time, we're going to work something out, and don't forget to subscribe to our patreon if you want to help us make things happen. You know, trying to get new equipment, um, new things, so that way we can offer you better entertainment. So, with that being said, that's all I really had to say. Uh, go ahead and have yourself a good morning, good afternoon and good evening, but ultimately, do take it easy.
