Patient-Centric Sampling: Beyond the Clinic and What it Means for Bioanalysis

KCAS Season 3 Episode 7

Dom and John, the hosts of “The Weekly Bioanalysis”, recently returned from EBF in Barcelona where there was a session on Patient-centric Microsampling, which both of them founnd fascinating. This inspired both of them to decide it was high time to revisit this part of our industry. In spite of a few infamous setbacks caused by the dishonesty of a few bad actors within the industry a years ago, there has been a renewed interest in patient-centric sampling, and our hosts have invited one of the pioneers in this field, Dr Neil Spooner, to join them on episode #85 to discuss the recent advances in the reemerging science around microsampling. They discuss Dried Blood Spot Analysis, device-based sampling vs conventional assays, the devices currently available, and what all of this might mean for the future of bioanalysis.
