The gun control propagandists have launched a fresh wave of attacks on both gun ownership and self-defense, and of course the mainstream media is fully on board in driving forward this propaganda war on our civil rights.
I've three examples of recent media reporting on the self-defense doctrine of "stand-your-ground." Two of these, from PBS and FOX News, host "experts" (non-lawyer Prof. Robert Spitzer, SUNY Cortland and former Federal prosecutor Duncan Levin) who grossly misrepresent stand-your-ground law--whether that's out of political fecklessness or outright ignorance is hard to tell, the two look very similar in this context.
The third example is from a local North Carolina news station, WCNC, and in this case I expect the guest lawyer (Gary Mauney, Mauney LLC) is well-informed on this law, but his communication of that expertise was absolutely mauled by the manner in which the station edited and communicated that knowledge to the audience, likely through no fault of Attorney Mauney's own.
