The federal lawsuits over the deportation of Tren de Aragua terrorists from the United States under the Alien Enemies Act proclamation sending TdA to the CECOT prison in El Salvador caught fire over the Easter weekend, with the Supreme Court issuing a 1AM order on Saturday stopping busloads of TdA from deportation, and Justice Alito and Thomas issuing a scorching dissent later that same day.
We’ll cover the background of what led up to all this, then dive into that forceful dissent castigating their SCOTUS colleagues. We’ll also take a look at what has happened since, including the White House response from Solicitor General John Sauer—always great reading—and the limp-wristed comeback from the ACLU lawyers defending these TdA terrorists.
