Speaker 2

You know that's always good to be a part of what else Shit ? We got the soccer team back . We finna DJ with them tomorrow .

Speaker 3

Come out and support bro tomorrow .

Speaker 2

Yes , sir man , we got a lot going on .

Speaker 3

Yeah , we making music , we in a different mode right now . Yeah , we got a lot of art stacked you know , I'm saying this and we getting . I feel like I'm back into my mold .

Speaker 1

So yeah , you just , you know , back , that's what I wanted to ask y'all about what has kept y'all wanting to not only continue to do projects together , but like want to continue to do it because you know , we well , we well , we , we , not old as fuck , but you know , we in the prime we grown for real now ain't no turning back . He's got responsibility . So what's been like the motivator to like for y'all ? Don't want to keep you know doing what y'all doing you said the word right there responsibility .

Speaker 3

You know I'm saying it's our responsibility to show and prove what this culture is really about . You know and I gotta thank Esco , cause for a minute I was kinda Over the shit , but the world ended , you know , we started getting passionate About what we was doing again and we just like , yeah , we gotta do what we gonna do Till we die , cause that's who we are . You know what I'm saying . You could get older In 50 years from now . I'm gonna finna not do no shit that I like to do . You know what I'm saying . So it's just like , you know , just being ourself and laying a foundation for the people that come behind us or whatever , because people still look to us . So we got to keep taking it up . We ain't get what we needed to get to yet .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I feel like I just still was like maybe I got back to a place where I was bored with music , because we went through our phase of going through the music business while we were in Chicago and also learning music production while we were there too . So I think that it was just finally , I felt like all signs just was pointing for us to just like get back active . I didn't really know what that meant , like when I , when we started to get back active doing music , um , but like once we kind of got focused and just kind of for lack of better terms like got back in rhythm . It's just kind of like . It's just like what we made to do . It's like and the same we do like .

Speaker 3

I think when we left , everybody reached that point in st louis I guess in our generation was like like damn , I gotta get the fuck up out of here that shit going on . But now it's like that's not true . So it's like let's build this shit up To where it need to be Sexy Red , the biggest act in the world Right now . You know Jordan Ward Doing his thing , smino , all these people moving around Metro .

Speaker 2

Boomin .

Speaker 3

Metro Boomin , shout out to Metro . You know Ryan Trey , he from the area or whatever . It's just like we got shit going Sizzling . I'm just playing , let me stop Before I get in trouble . But yeah , but the scene made it to where it's like , yeah , we got to come back and you know and do what we need to do here . Right , right , we not too big or too small , whatever . This , our city , this where we from .

Speaker 1

Right , and then y'all also individually have your own things going . You , you're a coach . So what has that journey been ?

Speaker 3

like it's been it's . It's like doing the music . For me it's like because it's what I'm passionate about . You know rapping , basketball , they go hand to hand . But it's another way for me to be able to help the youth and be what be for their generation . Where I wanted , wish I would have had , you know , I'm saying like not to shit on boomers and you know , gen x and them but I do feel like a lot of millennials do complain like we didn't really have big homies .

Speaker 3

Like that are people giving us the guidance we need , especially becoming young men ? And so it's like , let me tap in . That's really what hip-hop is being in the community . Let me come back home where my roots and foundations was laid . A lot of people don't know metro was started by a black woman . Some the graduate , uh , betty willard . So , yeah , it's just doing what's right . It just felt right and and I realized that I have a talent for it I was able to help some kids go to school free , and that feeling is better than any rap I could write . You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 1

So right , right and then for you . I think last time you were here you may have already started being , you know , dj , or you were about to get into it .

Speaker 4

I'm not entirely sure because it's been a minute , yeah , but I mean now , what four years later , or three years later ?

Speaker 1

now , like you said , you're doing block parties with the soccer team and you know , at venues and all all that stuff , and so what has that been like ?

Speaker 2

you know for you uh , it's been natural , like it's been like that's a good way . No , because it's like that's a good way to put it .

Speaker 2

No , because it's like that's a good way to put it I think that's why , like the music business and the music production I think that's kind of why I mentioned it , because it kind of helped me see , um , what was for us and what wasn't . You know I'm saying like before it felt like we probably wanted everything , but you can't have everything , you know I'm saying . And so afterwards it just felt more , like I felt more aligned . You know I'm saying what I was trying to do and , like to tanel's point , it's just like I'm passionate about it . I don't really do too many things I'm not passionate about right , so it's just like , uh , I take it super serious , even though it is like a passion or whatever , or like it's more of a hobby for me . I'm really trying to learn , like the business of it , to , like he's saying , like just continue to contribute to the scene . Yeah , like I think that's like my biggest thing that I want to do is like help make it better and also disclaimer it ain't nothing my brother do that .

Speaker 2

I don't be doing too , even though we , we individuals , it's always like rick ross be saying , you know , because I coach now too , because I got on the esco right now , yeah he be in there cussing them out too . You know , I'm saying now too . I got on the esco right now , yeah he be cussing them out too .

Speaker 3

You know I'm saying so . It's like it's definitely that and we , like I said , for me everything is for . We was talking about the day gen alpha man they taught me the name of the new generations like it's for these , it's for the future . I think we get too caught up on only doing stuff for our personal desires and what we want to look like to each other and it's like y'all niggas , old bro , you know I'm saying so at this point what you gonna do , that they gonna look at you for they gonna remember and be impacted by yeah listen to the kids , bro yeah , absolutely , absolutely .

Speaker 1

And so that's why I wanted to commend y'all , because you know y'all , y'all partnership , y'all brothers , you know what I'm saying ? Y'all in it , y'all , y'all , have'all , all on separate interests , but it all comes back to like yo , what the fuck are we really trying to accomplish and what are we trying to do as far as legacy .

Speaker 1

So I want to commend y'all for that , because you know ego can get in the way and shit like that . You know , people part ways because they have separate interests , but still keeping it to the core of like no , we're trying to leave something . We're trying to leave the shit better than what we got into it with or had it with . You know , I'm saying like you're saying , speaking to you , know you coaching kids and stuff like that , having big homies super important yeah he donated the jerseys this year .

Speaker 3

You know what I mean . So it's like , yeah , we better together . That's a good point that you made . Though a lot of people in hip-hop we fracture . Even right now we talking about division amongst black men or , you know , jewish men or whatever . I don't know whatever , but you know either way it go . You know I'm saying like we got to be on the same page and that's a big thing . The show , too , is like yeah , these have been in a group for 20 years or whatever . However long it's been now almost . It's like yeah , we really we still locked in this . Ain't just we didn't do this for nothing else , it's just our friendship that y'all get to see sometime and experience sometime .

Speaker 1

Yeah , pretty much and you spoke to .

St Louis Music and Rap Analysis

Speaker 1

St Louis is hot right now or whatever , and y'all's view , what does that look like to y'all ? Like damn , it's time , because you know it's been a long time coming . You know , since you know the country grammar days and you know that run . And then you know you had the new St Louis wave and motherfuckers got all in their feelings about that shit .

Speaker 3

And then here comes Smino Free .

Speaker 1

LA foes man yeah yeah , yeah . Here comes Smino .

Speaker 3

We all the same . We all the same though .

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah . So what does that feel like for y'all ? Like damn okay , we making some headway finally .

Speaker 3

I mean anytime a St Louis person , people , yeah , like I mean it's hard to sound not biased for saying that if you're not from st louis but you , if you were st louis and you go to new york , you're gonna meet a cool ass nigga from st louis . It's like , damn , you went to be my brother , what the fuck you know I'm saying . And he just doing some whole other shit . Or like , look like adrian . If you met adrian , nobody would think that he just went to the v and was this nigga on the north side and all say more than what we doing , like we always been tight people . Just don't be here like that you know what I'm saying ?

Speaker 2

that's true , but we tight as a motherfucker , though , like yeah , st louis , not doing nothing different now maybe people , even the citizens , and maybe people's outside perception of it , might have slightly changed . Or people may take certain stuff more serious , like three , one , four a day , for instance . That's a good example . Like people take that more serious now . Yeah , but it's like we're still just doing the same thing we was always doing .

Speaker 3

Yeah , yeah yeah , you know what I'm saying . Bigger scale yeah , you know what I mean .

Speaker 2

So , like he said , it's always just like I like to see people get opportunities outside of here because it should inspire the people here . You know I'm saying , and also , just like show , put other people on to , like , you know I'm saying , our culture , like what we really be on .

Speaker 3

Yeah , absolutely , absolutely and we complain a lot too . I hear people not we , not me but people complain like sexy red , get on . It's like what the hell ? Sexy red ain't got no song with someone . So , or you know , I think we growing past that too , where you could see like no , you just got to have your own motion and figure it out , not to say we don't want to see people coming together .

Speaker 2

Because of the internet , we got to see her have nothing . If you were her friend , you saw her not be no rapper and then she started rapping and then she grew up and then you saw the years of her grinding in St Louis .

Speaker 2

You know what I'm saying . So it was like I feel like a lot of people feel like they can't grind here but also be other places . Like she built relationships in Chicago . She built relationships with artists in Miami . You know what I'm saying . So it was like she was moving around , but she still made St Louis like a priority in her growth arc .

Speaker 3

You know what I'm saying . And and they gotta accept that reality and stop being on the tip where it's like when nobody helping us do nothing . It's just like , bro , nobody helping nobody for real , do nothing like for real all the niggas nearly went to new york . Boom so , and so went to . So you know , like you gotta take a risk , you gotta do it , you know yeah , absolutely , absolutely .

Speaker 1

Um , speaking to that , speaking of risk , uh , metro booming and future came out today kind of spoke about it earlier . Um , this is the track , like that . What are your feelings about ? Uh , kendrick lamar's verse on that particular song ?

Speaker 3

I mean be honest , bro , I mean I really didn't feel no type of way like Like until I got more of the details about what's going on . Apparently it's about the women they have sex with . I guess the beef , I would assume , is about that . Kendrick is just like I'm just going to get on here and be the best rapper and leave . I didn't really feel like he did nothing too crazy .

Speaker 2

I feel like I like the energy . Kendrick said something in there and it's even something that you kind of said before when you said , like when J Cole joined Drake Tour , it's kind of like he bent the knee . Kendrick has purposely kind of not worked with them .

Speaker 4

Yeah , yeah , yeah .

Speaker 2

Not worked with certain artists to kind of keep his autonomy . Maybe that's a good word for it . You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 2

He's been in an age where people are so collaborative , not to say he don't got songs with everybody because he pretty much does have a verse with most of the rappers , but it's like in these in in his own way , and so I kind of feel like him saying like , at this juncture , now people are trying to push drake , j Cole and Kendrick I feel like almost into a legacy space and I felt like Drake and J Cole somewhat , them coming together doesn't end the tension . But if two out of the three people are on the same team , then what are we saying here ? So to him it's like oh yeah , well , now y'all trying to be friends and shit . I bet y' . It's like oh yeah , well , now y'all like trying to be friends and shit , I bet y'all are , because I'm better than y'all . Yeah , like this is just proving my point , like this is what I thought . Y'all saying it's a big three . No , it's a big me , because y'all had to team up .

Speaker 3

Yes , that's an interesting way for kendrick to look at it . Like I said , because and I do think the the narrative of the real ones . I just say that we are Everybody been saying Including the older people , like the Kanye's Everybody been saying that Drake kinda fooled them . You know what I'm saying ? And that K-Dot is a real one and J Cole is just kinda like we just like J Cole , he cool . Nobody really feel nothing About J Cole , cause there ain't really much to feel .

Speaker 2

He's in the middle .

Speaker 3

And so that kind of takes him down a peg , in my opinion , to where he's not in that conversation with Kendrick and them , even though he's had success , and people do like rapping about losing their virginity along with him and shit like that , People like I guess people like J Cole more than Big Sean and Wale . Yeah , he's more palatable .

Speaker 1

Big Sean just got stepped on completely today , even though I fuck with Big .

Speaker 3

Sean , I like that song .

Speaker 1

I'm going to fuck with Big Sean . I'm gonna fuck with it regardless . But like he just got you know I guess it was a freestyle video he posted a couple days ago was the whole concept of like yeah , y'all niggas just leaving me the fuck out of here . And by the end of the week .

Speaker 2

That nigga literally played itself out .

Speaker 2

Yeah , he played himself out again His levels , bro , I feel like Big Sean got to like , honestly like rap on slower beats . I feel like he kind of and this is just me kind of using my DJ brain . It's like if I got a faster beat and this is the Midwest too so it's like I could really play some Babyface Ray . People here don't know as much Babyface Ray but , like Baby People here don't know as much Babyface Ray , but Babyface Ray got good beats . So even if you don't know it , it's just like , okay If I'm Big .

Speaker 2

Sean , I'm on that . This sounds cool . I'm on that , understand ? No , but that's what I'm saying .

Speaker 3

But he ain't tapped into them , or what .

Speaker 2

Those are even like V's , those , I would say , if you think about type beats , babyface Ray rap on Detroit street type beats , ice beats like baby fresh ray rap on like detroit street type beats uh , I swear vezzo side of baby and them right , then these is kind of like he really rap on like alternative beats , in the same way that like lucky from chicago do like you got chief , keeping them more trap , more drill with dirt her , he's just the first alternative .

Speaker 2

Yeah , lucky is like that in Chicago . So I feel like Big Sean is like in this weird space now because you got the Griselda niggas and .

Speaker 2

Alchemist that are capturing a certain sound Right , right . Then you got Future , I guess you could say , and the South and the Trap and Metro and all that shit is a certain sound Right . And so then you got like this gray middle area . That's like niggas try to rap on hard shit , but it's got to be like a certain tempo , yeah . But it's like you're not Southern , so it's like you can't rap on like like I was talking about Quavo earlier , like turn your click up . That's not no fast beat , but that shit hard For Big China . That's harder to do , but you're not going for . You came up under Kanye but you're not going for like the soulful .

Speaker 2

Like you're not going J Dilla either . Yeah , yeah , yeah , I guess that's the weird . That's why I say slower beats , yeah . Like I guess if he just was like no , I'm just going to really keep evolving . To J Dilla , natural Detroit . Sound Like we don't got that Detroit town . Like we don't got that . Like if , if black spade was Jay Dilla , it wouldn't be nothing . Those are the routes . This is what we finna do you ?

Speaker 3

know what I'm saying . Like I look at it more than the basketball comparison obviously more but like I think something that's lost on big Sean is that he's really like a top level specialist . Okay , in a way like that Kyrie is a championship contributor .

Speaker 4

That's why I'm saying you just going to have to score in these certain spaces , Special type beats . Hey how you doing .

Speaker 3

You know what I'm saying but whereas , like these other people we talking about , like the Drakes , the Kendricks , like they are , kendrick might be a Kawhi type level . You know what I'm saying . Drake is his , maybe LeBron or whatever the on with it , I feel like they are top two . I feel like J Cole is more like a Paul George type of guy , whereas you a franchise player on a bad team , on a first round exit team , but you , not him .

Speaker 1

You know what I mean .

Speaker 3

I think that's something that Big Sean is dealing with . You feel as talented as them because you , kyrie , you didn't have 50 and did all this shit , but you got the shoes and shit .

Speaker 2

You didn't win . He didn't win . He'd have been on championship as the best player on a team .

Speaker 3

The last time you was the best player on a team , it was the worst record ever . So I'm sure not to say directly about him , but you're not that by yourself .

Speaker 1

Right , okay .

Speaker 3

But I think we should appreciate all these people more and I do hate the comparison . A lot of social media and everything Everybody said they're the best fucking rappers .

Speaker 2

So we gotta compare .

Speaker 1

Yeah , fuck all that .

Speaker 4

And it's true . I'm with it too .

Speaker 2

It's not R&B , martin Gatiss , get on there and say I'm the best singer , and that's the thing .

Debating Drake's Evolution in Music

Speaker 3

People on the Drake side try to make it just about numbers .

Speaker 4

And .

Speaker 1

Drake is very talented so I'm not trying to to what rap really about .

Speaker 3

That's not always what it's about , and we we all feel like the hip-hop people know that kendrick embodies that the most and that drake has basically been cosplaying other people at this point for a little while , but he's the best at making songs .

Speaker 2

Yeah I mean , I think it's hard to be mad at not not saying that you are , but I think it's hard in general to be upset at drake because he just made like a tight character yeah , he just , he just mirrored .

Speaker 3

He mirrored the rap game . That's what people are upset about and that's why I look stupid .

Speaker 2

Okay , here we go , like probably like no , like in a way , like people say , like people feel that way about like GZ , People feel that way about like TI .

Speaker 3

Like ross , like for being a gangster , so he 50 and shit and he like rick ross is a correction I'm about to say .

Speaker 1

Didn't start off that way , you know , I mean he might have been in the streets and been doing it . You know what I'm saying , but she was on both sides .

Speaker 2

His route is his route you know , I'm saying , and he made a character , and I just feel like people are exceptionally upset with drake because it's like he's not american and I just feel like americans don't understand the fact that he is not cosplaying this shit for us . He's doing it for the fucking Canada , like Toronto's , bigger than New York . You know what I'm saying . So it's like he's navigating that space , so he's navigating an international city and bringing back this flavor that nobody else has been able to bring back .

Speaker 3

I push back that he's doing some shit that we be doing . That's what I just said .

Speaker 2

That's what I just said he's bringing back a flavor that nobody has ever been able , from their country , to leave Canada and go work with Metro Kanye , so-and-so , so-and-so , and bring it back .

Speaker 3

He's doing that with every sound , though basically it's the street shit . Nobody's mad at him . For the rest of the shit , you know what I'm saying . Nobody mad when he Doing Kiki , do you love me ? And all that shit , cause that's .

Speaker 2

That's what I'm just saying . Jeezy , same shit .

Speaker 3

But , like I said , the difference between when you talk about Jeezy Jeezy talk about bricks and shit , and that's what's interesting to me is that like now they wanna flip the narrative like , well , drake isn't really a real nigga . And it's like , oh , so Metro is or not to , you know , put that on him . So Future is , and we know Future was on the dub and doing the shit he was doing , but it's like all stupid shit child was doing that he didn't really do in the art yeah man , he was just singing , it'd be okay .

Speaker 3

Nobody had nothing to say . Nobody like he wasn't really in love he didn't really .

Speaker 2

That's kind of my point , though that's what I'm saying . Like he picked a sound , he just made his character around the sound , because it's like in rap , and they let him do it , but he reboots it every .

Speaker 1

Let him do it when he got around future start doing that .

Speaker 3

That's when he start being like I'm taking y'all powers , nigga , I'm finna , make songs better . I'm finna , get better at doing y'all than y'all . Yeah , he did it to big shine . He did he , he did . He's a chameleon in that way and that's what people are really upset about . It's like he's winning at doing you . He's doing you on a hundred million dollar level and you getting somewhere a lot lower than that . I think that'd be the gripe I think to me it's like because otherwise what do you care ?

Speaker 3

he's not a real nigga , damn well you care I don't think that like .

Speaker 2

I think that's kind of unfair to drink , to say that like he's taking stuff from them because it's like that's art though I was about to say it's kind of . I'm not mad at him , but what I'm saying is just like it's hard to say that he's a better artist than them , but I'm just gonna to use an example , like Tyler the creator is doing Kanye and Pharrell that's what he's doing .

Speaker 3

He's inspired by them he's just doing that .

Speaker 2

You know what I'm saying . And so I'm just saying , like he just decided to do that . You know what I'm saying . And , to your point , like people criticize him for it , it's Drake's position because he's at the top .

Speaker 3

he could have decided to be on some heavy J Cole backpack shit , which would be probably better for the black community , but instead he was like let me dip down into the dumbest shit we've ever seen in our life .

Speaker 1

I'm going to do that more Because he came out with those mixtapes . That's what he was on initially . He's devolved .

Speaker 3

You start off in a higher space in your early 20s .

Speaker 2

Now you almost 40 and you being a random ass nigga , I think that's a great way to frame it . It's that we just didn't expect him to devolve when the other two evolved .

Speaker 3

He devolved and got bigger , and it was a fuck you to them for real , I don't think it was a fuck you to them . That's how they taking it .

Speaker 2

I'm saying to me the way I look at it , it was strictly survival , because even when I look at like , if you look at Drake , like Drake doesn't really have black features . You know what I'm saying he looks like his mama .

Speaker 1

He wants to be a black .

Speaker 2

I mean , if he's mixed , we call mixed people black , so he's a black artist . You know what I'm saying ? He never made white music , quote , unquote , whatever white music is , he's only ever did Black music .

Speaker 3

What music is white ?

Speaker 2

And so it's like In his position that's what I'm saying he had got to a point I feel like in his career , cause after , like , nothing was the same Around the time what a time to be alive , that's what I mean . He moved back home Cause it was like , and started to sound views and all that shit when it got really international One dance and all that shit and motherfuckers hated that shit , Because that's what I'm saying , Like what is this shit ?

Speaker 2

And that's what I'm saying . I've never done music on the level of Drake , obviously , but it's like , bro , I don't know if y'all have ever DJed before , but have like 400 people sitting in front of you and it's like now it's your job to entertain them . Right , you only got what you got at your disposal . You know what I'm saying . So that's what I'm saying .

Speaker 3

And Drake has

The Evolution of Drake's Sound

Speaker 3

done it .

Speaker 2

Hold on , I just used like Alchemist Is an Alchemist song that I could play . Probably a better song , one of the better songs in my catalog , probably , but I probably should play Too Sexy , real quick , just to testify about . Just for nothing else .

Speaker 1

You never know , you know what .

Speaker 2

I'm saying and so I think that Drake got caught in the same way , like him and Kendrick , really on the total spectrum , because staying hot at a certain point meant changing your sound to that southern sound . And that's what I'm saying . That's why J Cole and Kendrick and Big Sean and Wale aren't as hot as him . Yeah , Because he rapped on those beats and for them it was such a like in the effort of being a real nigga . Well , that's not really my yeah .

Speaker 4

And they couldn't compete .

Speaker 2

I feel like they kind of stunted themselves With Wale . Drake is a winner .

Speaker 1

Wale tried that . Drake is a winner .

Speaker 2

Wale tried that and niggas won't take it from Wale Right and he should have doubled down If Wale would have kept going because it ended up working . And ain't nobody else from DC that's doing shit he has a diamond track got on , that's true . He stopped himself .

Speaker 3

And that shit was life . Oh , they're talking about it .

Speaker 2

No , fuck that . No , hands is a big song .

Speaker 3

Like , do it again . Mm-hmm , and he could only get through in the same lane that J Cole could get through , where it's like random R&B nigga and then I do rap poetic about loving somebody . That's all he needed .

Speaker 2

He would've started songs and had the R&B girl songs . What ?

Speaker 3

Yeah , and Drake was in Drake defense . I can't believe I'm defending Drake today , but in Drake defense he was the only person willing for lack of better words to say sell your soul . But he was like I'm a win at all costs and they can analyze and talk about me and talk about how . I ain't that ? But they not gonna talk about child niggas , and that's the difference . That's what .

Speaker 2

Kanye did .

Speaker 3

And K-Dot has created a space for himself where it's like no , he going to be talked about . But we can't all say that we wish that Kendrick would have went at bro more .

Speaker 2

But that's what I'm saying , but that's my point , and he's doing it now . They're not legacy acts , they're still acting .

Speaker 4

They're still going yeah .

Speaker 2

We didn't think it over like yeah , 20 years , chris Paul LeBron and them still be going up . No , we didn't think that it's like hold on . No , we got to keep judging them , like with Joker in them .

Speaker 3

Yeah , he won the championship last year .

Speaker 2

Yeah , we got to keep judging these niggas , and so that's why I feel like Kendrick is like oh no , it's not too late , goes on .

Speaker 3

It do seem like this year in particular that drake is starting to see some decay . He went from being like well , 12 , 10 summers nobody got nothing bad to say about me to then damn , I had a baby on accident , did some shit I I lost the uh beef to to push a t . He's just been like niggas , starting to have chinks at the shit . And over time people are analyzing drake harder than I've ever seen before . Even the younger generation's like damn , we growing past drake mentally like what the fuck .

Speaker 2

Like they've analyzing him now . So like if drake dropped the like , and that's what I'm saying . It's really a change of sound . If you switch the sound up , do you think that it would like ?

Speaker 3

niggas the fuck would it switch the sound to what I don't know I think he's beyond the point of no return now . I don don't think you think so . He can't go back . Go back to what . That's what I'm saying . My thing is , you know what ?

Speaker 1

I'm saying Music is vast , it's not like other sounds are what pisses me off with him . He can rap , though . That's what I'm saying , kanye at a certain point only had soul samples . You can do whatever .

Speaker 2

He .

Speaker 3

And I guess that's the thing with Drake . It's like Drake is not . I feel like Kanye be doing it on some . He's still heavy into the art , the fashion , whatever the essence of what he's into . And I feel like Drake just coming to win the championship and that's why he has no classic projects to people for real . For real , the world is stamped to where we don't even have to have no talk about it . It's because he , willing to do whatever it takes , willing to do whatever it takes , he's experimenting , he's doing business .

Speaker 1

I think he got one or two , which ones for me take care definitely is one of his .

Speaker 3

One of his ones , I mean I , when I go back to it , I get it , I get the age . We was at there too , I think . I think that play a role in it .

Speaker 3

That plays a role in it , but those songs are still tight , yeah I'm not saying that he don't got tight songs off every album he has he does , but I don't think he has a cohesive banger in the , in the words of 50 does , whereas the kanye does , whereas all the other great niggas we ever liked . They got that one , he don't got that one . Yeah , he has more hits than everybody put together probably .

Speaker 3

It's definitely more debatable for him I don't think because people push back otherwise you just say it , otherwise it would be debatable .

Speaker 2

I think people are judging it wrong because they don't got songs in their album where they just burst out singing and so those albums just feel different . You know what I'm saying ? Like , if Drake got 15 tracks on three of them on every album , he's legit going to sing when 50 is not going to do that .

Speaker 2

So to me it opinion it's like a movie , but I'm saying it's like a movie . A movie can be a drama and it can slow down and people can cry and it can still be action where it's like some shit is just action , 50's shit is just like just action and it's like we trying to compare it to the Drake shit where he gonna cry in the movie .

Speaker 3

Better to me , because you're losing people .

Speaker 4

I feel like he just ain't never and I love music he's the top artist , he's not losing people , like I said he got great songs

Debating Drake, J. Cole, and Future

Speaker 4

.

Speaker 3

I don't think he has a body of work that is just like for how great of an artist he is .

Speaker 2

It don't matter if you're reading this . It's too late , it's a classic .

Speaker 3

What that shit is hard if you're reading this too late , and nothing was the same with the ones I often because there was a lot of scandal around that about him not writing it and I don't care about all of that shit . But it's just like that is his strongest album , to me that shit's a classic . Nothing was the same if you're reading this too late . I do think that is his strongest album . That shit is crazy but yeah , man , we all love it .

Speaker 1

A place it , it's a good conversation , but it's why I wanted to have it with y'all , because I know y'all were gonna have a strong , a strong opinion overall . I fuck with the album outside of that song . I fuck with it all the way all the way through for the most part , so so yeah , I gotta give it another listen . Yeah , that's not even my favorite song . It's the one that he got with uh rick ross on there oh , that's your favorite .

Speaker 2

Yeah , yeah , because he I don't know , I haven't even heard that one yet .

Speaker 4

Yeah , it's uh it's towards the end of the album .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it's toward the end um , but I don't know what the fuck happened , but rick ross got on there and it's it reminded me of some american gangsta shit and then future , came back and started rapping . I was like damn nigga like yeah , it was like it was different than the rest of the album , for sure exactly I was like damn okay , I like the album in in general , but like that was the one , I was like yeah I like that claustrophobic .

Speaker 3

That's classic Future to me . I like Future for his songwriting ability more than his rapping Not to say that he can't rap , but I like when he has witty songs where he uses the same word over and over again in the whole song title . He got a couple of ones on there that shit that he does that nobody else brings to the game that I like about Future yeah he made that up yeah .

Speaker 1

He's in his , yeah , he's in his . He definitely doing that shit on this album . He doing that a couple of times , but I fuck with it , you know . And then of course it's , you know , metro moving from the crib .

Speaker 2

It's like when you talk about , even when you talk about rapping , like I'm going to be honest , like I guess I don't personally feel like J Cole don't rap better than Future , like he don't rap better than him . I think he just is in a style that people like the most , and that's what I'm saying with the diversity of the beats Like Kobe , not better than LeBron .

Speaker 2

Turn on the lights beat and turn on like Pardon Me by Lil Yachty , he can sit in there and do both of them shits . It's like niggas can't do that .

Speaker 2

You know what I'm saying and that's all I'm saying , like that's why to me , why Drake is kind of in a different space , like Kendrick , like I was actually having a conversation with somebody about this on Twitter . They was like you know , kendrick is not that deep to them and I was like I think that the way that he chooses to talk about like shit is why people perceive it as deep is why people perceive it as deep .

Speaker 2

It's approach to it Like he has a song about alcoholism . He has a song about girls' self-esteem . He's not preachy though , but it's not preachy it's not preachy . It's like you know what I'm saying ? Keisha song , he would just be artistic with it .

Speaker 3

That's the knock on J Cole . For me it's super preachy .

Speaker 1

Why are you doing this Under the conch at ?

Speaker 3

times he don't do it as much , no more . He had a phase I think Mike Brown Didn't really fuck J Cole Shit up .

Speaker 1

But either way it go .

Speaker 3

J Cole Is not a conscious rapper . But he's , he's always been marketed as a conscious rapper when it's like , oh , cause he could read , or he no , he don't read books , right , but he got a degree In English or whatever the fuck .

Speaker 1

That was always . He's the good boy . He did all the things .

Speaker 3

And he's a rapper . He's , you know , I'm saying he's a unicorn in that way , and it's just like nobody give a fuck for real , like you know . I'm saying like that's not what make you tight . And so , because he my , my analogy would be like people try to in a barbershop niggas always , like you know , kobe is better than lebron , but they just feel that way because he play like jordan . But the truth is , just because you play a certain way don't make you better than somebody else . And that's how I feel about J Cole . You're under the Nas act , but you're not as good as Nas , and Nas is still making albums that are better than yours Today . And if you was rapping with Hit-Boy we'd be more interested , but you don't . You know what I'm saying . That's my knock on J .

Speaker 1

Cole , you do your own beats , you go to your own rhythm and all that other shit , and that's the best part about being a rapper is the best beats . That's what it's really about .

Speaker 4

What's the tightest beat ?

Speaker 3

The niggas with the best beats going to want the best rapper on their shit . That's hip-hop , you know , what I'm saying .

Exploring Music and Personal Identity

Speaker 2

It's like you don none of us like definitively feel like oh man , jay cole just rap , circles around rick ross .

Speaker 3

Right , we don't feel that way and jay cole is his , is I'm talking ?

Speaker 2

about a generation . I'm just saying that to say rick ross only came out four years before him . Oh , five years . He came out five and then came on 10 and really to his content for you to be like I guess most rappers , just some ignorant niggas , shit .

Speaker 3

We get that , you know I'm saying , but for you to be under the wholesome act , for all the the suburban college educated black niggas to stand , you know I'm saying you're not dropping no jewels . I'm learning more from jc and them than you . I'm learning more from future and them than you . I'm learning more from Future and them than you , depending on what my lifestyle is or whatever the case may be , and I don't get that and that's something that I could say maybe with him and Drake too .

Speaker 3

I can't get nothing from y'all's shit With .

Speaker 2

K-Dawg .

Speaker 3

I could give you something .

Speaker 2

Well , I can't say that Like it's like he's not giving you something that you would predict somebody at his age would do .

Speaker 3

He's just entertaining you .

Speaker 2

I'm just .

Speaker 3

You know it is , but the best rappers could do both . It's going to be entertainment , but it's going to be some bars here that might make you ponder upon something or think something , right .

Speaker 1

You know , that was definitely the best part or in your personal life , you might be doing something .

Speaker 2

That's what I'm saying . Okay , drake , so you don't think that he could do that ? That's what I'm saying that would be switching . He just not doing it .

Speaker 1

He could . That's what pisses me off , nigga . I know you can rap , we just feel that way . We got an extensive enough catalog . If Drake came out , what was the song it's in ?

Speaker 2

there If Drake came out with .

Speaker 3

What's the song , wilson ?

Speaker 2

had about his son when they , the two of us or whatever . Now , if Drake dropped the two of us would niggas fuck with that .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I would .

Speaker 2

I'm just kidding . I mean I'm not saying I wouldn't Like if he dropped a good song about loving his son .

Speaker 3

You know what I mean and that's what Nas and Nas , just for niggas with daughters .

Speaker 1

You know what .

Speaker 3

I mean that you know what I mean . Like so , and that's what I think people are looking for more from Drake is just like the humanity , because now you're just becoming , like you said , just this character , this along the Diddy S Klein of nigga , and that's what I'm saying , that we don't know what the fuck going on .

Speaker 2

People try to put that on Future , but that's not what .

Speaker 1

Future knew . Yeah , he never been there . He's doing him Right .

Speaker 2

He had hella babies before he was on .

Speaker 4

You know what I'm saying ? He was me . He just found out about it .

Speaker 1

His name was me . It really depends on what you want when you come in , because you don't expect certain things from certain artists . That's what it boils down to .

Speaker 3

And that's why people mad at . What was funny to me is like all people saying now about him is like you're an actor and it's like , well , duh , I've been an actor .

Speaker 2

I think , now that we're talking about it , the main reason that people feel that way is because if you were listening to Drake's music before , you would assume , out of all the rappers not knowing their personal life , who's going to be married For sure , who's going to X , y , z , and he's had . He built up a catalog and then in his personal life it just shown to do the complete opposite of that , and so now it creates like a . It makes you wonder . It's like where does this music come from ? Because even a person like let's use Usher , for instance , right Us , for instance , right Usher , was making songs about certain shit . Damn , you remind me So-and-so . But it's like now Usher got a girlfriend , he be doing X , y .

Speaker 3

Z it match he trying to have a family . Right , right , right he went through some shit .

Speaker 2

You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 1

Like that's what he's going through , that's what he's doing , type shit Like you know what I mean . Like in the papers .

Speaker 3

Especially in today's climate , because a lot of our moguls are fucking up right now . You know what I'm saying . Right now , hov's starting to look better and better as time go on . But , like you said , hov made his mistakes and did certain shit , but it's like he is married . He is striving to be a man in a different way , and that's what people , it's the life , even Big Sean . I'm going to be with Jhene . I thought I wouldn't , but fuck it . I love her . We together it's like it is a human side to the artist that we also are fans of .

Speaker 2

Dom Kennedy . I know niggas don't listen to him , but even you think about Dom .

Speaker 2

I think about , like Nipsey I'm thinking about like niggas who really like and you can blend both , rapping about their life , no he would say I got the best bitch , but I love my kids . We're going to wake up , we're going to do certain shit , and it's just like that's what I'm saying . That's why I'm playing to the crowd . You kind of get to pick what crowd you want to play to , and that's what I'm saying . Drake is purposely making music for the strip club . You know what I'm saying ? Like that's his weakness . The bitches are his weakness .

Speaker 3

You know what I'm saying . And I mean , can you blame the man ? I'm not bad at all , but that's what I'm saying . That's the baddest women I've ever been like . It's a lot now .

Speaker 1

I think that's the thing , like we saying we get it , but like we know there's something else in there , because you came out the we want more form , or we thought or we thought , or we thought but like I said when somebody give you power or give you we .

Speaker 3

Really , I think the thing is we don't want to accept that he's been what he really always has been .

Speaker 2

Now he just can do it the way he wanted to and he can yield it differently . You know what I'm saying , because he the one I blew up right and now I'm in of the biggest artists , and then I just started naming bitches from St Louis and I was like , yeah , so and so . Yeah you did an XYZ . Everybody be like this is fucking wild .

Speaker 4

You know what I'm saying ? This is crazy , that's fucking wild .

Speaker 3

But now I remember in O2 when you didn't look at me back .

Speaker 2

Right before Twitter was like that's oh , we would go find that bitch's picture , and people found these people , but every single one it's a little different . Now , 10 years later , 12 years later , you know what I'm saying , but that's what I'm just saying . Like , no , all the greatest rap producers are also alive , for the most part , like all the things that people want him to do . That's what I'm saying , like if people feel like oh , you just don't want to hear it from him now , to me that's just interesting because I would argue he's probably a better rapper now . He's probably a better writer now , he's probably , you know .

Speaker 3

I'm saying like he's much more skilled in the studio and shit now .

Speaker 4

So that's why .

Speaker 2

That would be just confusing to me . That like , if he because he kind of hurt everybody , oh damn , y'all want some bars . Okay , he called alchemist and conductor to me , though that shit was rushed a little bit . I would like to see him sit back and kind of bake on some shit a little bit longer Step away .

Speaker 3

Yeah , niggas want a meal .

Speaker 2

Niggas don't want appetizers or everything , but I'm just saying he immediately did that and niggas streamed it and they listened to it and there was some songs out there that people really stuck to and all the rappers made fruit styles to some of the beats . You know , what I'm saying . So that's why I'm just kind of like even Love Her Certified Love Her Boy , which I thought was a good album .

Speaker 3

I did too . It was solid .

Speaker 2

He got the one song , the beat , that everybody rapped on . Even J Cole rapped on it , lupe rapped . Everybody had to get their bars off . That's what I'm saying . He be inspiring the rapper .

Speaker 3

So it's just like .

Speaker 2

But that got that maybe I guess to his level , a person like fonte from little brother , but I don't think he's ever put out just like and I could be wrong just a project where it's like tracks one through four , they're just wrapping his ass off . Then five through seven is just a totally different genre . Like that don't happen , whether it be he gonna go do some carib Caribbean shit or like . So now it's just he's just separating himself in a way and it's just like you love it or hate it , but it's like . It is what it is kinda like yeah , good conversation .

Speaker 1

My niggas came through with that . That's what I'm talking about , bro , but we gonna keep that shit competitive . We gonna go to the NBA for real , for real .

Speaker 1

So okay , here we go um , here we go a lot of conversation about , uh , you know who , who the next ones are . You know , like the next , the next gen stars , or whatever . So in y'all opinion , as far as the top , I'd say five , that's like really next , you know , lebron , I say we maybe get like another two to three years maybe from LeBron , and then Steph is up there too . You know that guard is , you know , going out .

Speaker 3

I don't see none of them winning , no more championships , okay . So I don't see nobody 35 and up , winning no more championships right now .

Speaker 1

Personally that look like it hurt you , bro .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I mean , no , I was thinking the Lakers will technically have the cap space to get another person from some move that they make . So that's why I'm just like I don't know who that could be to his point , because they would have to be over 30 . Yeah , it's just a world that we haven't lived in .

Speaker 3

But for the younger people I got . I mean Jokic is at the top . I don't know if Giannis is in the in-between , but he's in their age bracket , still in their generation . So you got to put Giannis next , because he has a championship too , if not first . But I like Joker a little more than I do Giannis . And then I'm going Jason , obviously For obvious reasons , but also because he been putting in Fucking work and going crazy , especially this year , for sure . But he gotta prove that you can win A championship In a different way Than we ever seen a nigga Win a championship . We've never seen nobody Into the Warriors Win a championship shooting . But we ain't never seen no 6'10" , 6'11 nigga Doing crossover stepbacks , shooting threes , winning championships before . So this a big year for him , I feel like .

Speaker 1

And it is a make or break year for Jason . How about if they don't get it done this year ? You think ?

Speaker 3

I mean , the window is still going to be open , but it's like you would have to be . You have to lose game seven . Eastern Conference Finals is your worst possible situation Are Jason and Jalen . Brown , top two duo in the league . I don't really like Jalen Brown . I don't dislike him , but I don't like him . You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 4

He just turned the ball over so much and he gets small in big situations .

Speaker 1

And I only judge niggas , I only judge people against the best competition .

Speaker 3

I don't judge them against what they be doing against the Wizards and shit .

Speaker 2

You know what I'm saying . You know we went to the finals just like Jason .

Speaker 3

He did , he did and they went together . But I'm saying he's not the best player on that team .

Speaker 2

He did . He's not the best player .

Speaker 3

I don't look , not because it's just them two . They got a bunch of borderline hall of fame niggas at some level of the hall of fame and somebody everybody on their team is gonna be in somebody basketball hall of fame . You know I'm saying so . It's just like I don't know . They're just a great organization . I don't look at it like and jason has is the best player , but they gotta answer the bell and if they don't answer it and it's gonna take them too , they are the key members of that . But drew holiday . They got a lot of shit going on to where they should win . That's three , four damn job around . Fucked it up , I think . But I gotta .

Speaker 3

I gotta put anthony edwards next , just off the strength that he'd be going crazy and he just a wolf , he ain't even a dog . You know I'm saying no , no pun intended with timber wolves , but you know I'm saying he like I heard , uh , what's my name ? Jerry west said you know he was like I was a wolf , I ate dogs and that's how I feel about yeah , like he wanted them , type of niggas words like he's just crazy . You know I'm saying he feel like he the best at everything . I like that type of energy and I feel like he's the most confident young guy , where it's like what jay says , like I don't see it all the time , I see it in flashes , but I haven't seen him just be like I'm a fucking wolf .

Speaker 3

You can't fuck with me , jason a dog , but it's some other dogs can get with him . You know I'm saying wolf will scare you away and that's what happened to him last year .

NBA Players Ranking and Analysis

Speaker 3

But fifth , I gotta . I gotta go with Shea right now .

Speaker 1

Okay .

Speaker 3

Ja , morant fucked it up , that was just he showed he too stupid for it . I'm sorry , I'm sorry .

Speaker 2

But being smart is big for me , say Jokic Giannis Jason .

Speaker 3

Giannis , not Giannis . Giannis , jason and man .

Speaker 2

Okay , and then Shea , shea .

Speaker 1

Shea Okay .

Speaker 3

I ain't mad at it . I ain't mad at it , I don't . If I'm building a team , right , cause everybody else , just I can't depend on them . I wanna put Jai in there , but , like I said , jai done fucked it up for me . He gotta , he gotta come back .

Speaker 2

Oh .

Speaker 3

They team fucked up .

Speaker 2

I'm trying to think , the only person .

Speaker 1

I'm not mad at it .

Speaker 2

I don't have Jason in my top five .

Speaker 3

He specifically said Of their generation . Yeah , yeah if I'm going off this .

Speaker 2

Okay , I'm just making sure .

Speaker 1

Jokic and Giannis Didn't even pop in my mind when I thought about .

Speaker 3

But they 28 , I mean 29 , so it's like that's probably , why , so yeah ? Jason's 25 , but it's just like they went to high school Together .

Speaker 1

They still count , though , yeah .

Speaker 3

And they won yeah .

Speaker 2

Uh , it's hard for me not to feel like Luka . I got Luka in mind , for sure .

Speaker 3

Yeah , it was tough leaving Luka out .

Speaker 2

Joker for sure , I guess Giannis .

Speaker 3

I don't think Luka could win though .

Speaker 2

Giannis for sure .

Speaker 3

His style of play .

Speaker 1

I just don't believe Two ball domination .

Speaker 3

Yeah , he , not that raw Unless .

Speaker 2

it's just going to be some more growth that I can't foresee but I just he too predictable for another player that compliments him in a different way , so he would have to play a different way yeah , he too comfortable for me so yeah , giannis Joker , luca , and then Ant-Man , and then my fifth is between Shea and Victor .

Speaker 1

I probably don't go with Victor .

Speaker 2

That's real .

Speaker 3

I left Victor off .

Speaker 2

Ant-Man plays probably a little bit better defense than Shea , even though I would say I would give Shea . Shea scores really easy . He's a willing passer . He plays the game in a space that I prefer . I prefer the game down there personally but Wimby might be number one .

Speaker 3

I'm not gonna lie , not today he's not better than Joker yet but when it's all said and done .

Speaker 2

But , you can see like , oh yeah , he's not where Giannis is , but he basketball-wise he's about as good as Giannis is .

Speaker 3

He's not as good as Joker . He probably been playing as long as Giannis .

Speaker 2

Yeah , but he's not as good as .

Speaker 3

Joker In real life .

Speaker 2

Joker's the best basketball player and like to the Celtics part , the reason , like I said , jason , shea , victor , all of them are right there to me and as far as , like you say , top five , because with Jason and it could be just a criticism , like in a lot of ways , like people criticize KD of , like not like his impact on defense , it's hard to have an impact all over the floor . But to me Joker Yonis Victor , have like a pool .

Speaker 3

Where Jason mainly offers and like Luka and Ant-Man .

Speaker 2

They just even Luka will get down in the post . All Jason buckets are so hard . Yeah , that's his biggest thing he got to get in the mid post I was asking about the duo , because then it's just like , well , I guess to that point then it's hard to say , like who is a product of the system ?

Speaker 3

The reason they're not a duo to me is because they don't . Their games don't complement each other . They're both trying to . No , I'm not saying that they are a duo , I'm just saying they both be trying to do the same shit , like they franchise and everything .

Speaker 2

It's kind of like I mean , I don't know what they would do without each other . Really , you know what I'm saying . And so it's just like I don't feel like they went to the finals last year because of Jason . I didn't feel like when they went to the Eastern .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I think it was coaching Conference finals .

Speaker 2

those first couple years I didn't feel like it was like because they got Joker .

Speaker 1

Yeah , you know what I'm saying . He was just that much better Than everybody . You know what ?

Speaker 2

I'm saying , like great coaching , you can do a whole bunch of shit , but he's out there doing shit .

Speaker 1

That just is like no 740 , a lot of time he's affecting the game In such a way it's like shit .

Speaker 2

He wasn't even looking over here and threw the fucking ball . You know what ? I'm not a Jason Hader .

Speaker 3

And the best duo is Murray and Jokic .

Speaker 2

Yes , they got the best start in five .

Speaker 3

They're the best duo in the NBA .

Speaker 1

They got the best start in five by far . Yeah so , and they all compliment each other Like it just works .

Speaker 3

And now especially if Michael Porter is going to be healthy . Oh yeah .

Speaker 2

They're going to go back to back Because the thing that you need like , I feel , the Celtics . You know they got poor Zingas , they got Drew Holiday , but it's kind of like when Shaq and Michael Jordan was in the league . It's like , oh well , if you don't got nobody that can stop this nigga , then it don't matter what the fuck you got Right . And so if y'all ain't going to get Embiid or you , know what I'm saying .

Speaker 1

Well , it don't matter because it's just like . You can't stop him .

Speaker 2

Y'all not finna , stop him Can't stop the rain , so he finna get whoever the centers are in foul trouble , because that's what he do , because he's fucking that smart . And now you're gonna have Aaron Gordon crashing down , michael Porter wide open , and I'm just like bro .

Speaker 3

And he the is just like damn . We got to stop this nigga from scoring In the block , but we got to stop Jokic from passing and doing a whole bunch of team running offense Right , right and fucking with At the top of the key and shit Only cry P .

Speaker 2

Micah on you .

Speaker 3

Scoring is like the least thing he worried about .

Speaker 2

damn near he's not a great shot blocker for rebounder you know what I'm saying His rebounding is like some big don't rebound as well as him . You know what I mean .

Speaker 3

He's not light on his feet .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it look like he be struggling .

Speaker 3

You could be a good shot , but you gotta be able to have fast switch , yeah , yeah , or just be super long . He's tall but he's not really freakishly long . He's not jumping off the ground , he ain't doing nothing of that shit .

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah , yeah , that's real . That's real I would have Luka . Jason Wimby is one I didn't even think about either .

Speaker 3

Yeah , but Wimby's a great one .

Speaker 1

So yeah , Wimby's a great one , Shea Probably Ant too .

NBA Playoffs and Player Relationships

Speaker 1

Yeah , that's why I asked that , because it looks like Ant is getting ready to take that next step . We'll really see in the playoffs , because I think they do go ahead and keep the number one seed and it's showtime after that .

Speaker 3

I don't think it translates in the playoffs of them winning on a high level .

Speaker 1

But maybe they could If they got to the .

Speaker 3

Western Conference Finals . It'll be a great year for the Temple Wolves . You know what I'm saying . That number one seed shit . Sometimes it's good for them because great year for the Timberwolves , yeah , yeah , yeah , you know what I'm saying . But that number one seed shit sometimes you know it is .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it's good for them because they proven something .

Speaker 2

I mean it works for them because they won't have to play Denver . Yeah , that's the best shit they got before them . Yeah until the finals .

Speaker 3

That's why they look at the Nuggets . It's still like , it's like the . Nuggets still the best team so it's just like they just don't care as much about the regular season .

Speaker 2

Could the Lakers beat the Timberwolves in the playoffs ?

Speaker 3

Could the who , the Lakers ? It's not impossible .

Speaker 1

Yeah , they could . It depends on .

Speaker 3

Mike Conley hurt their chances because Mike Conley is so much better than D'Angelo Russell at the position of point guard .

Speaker 1

I Position of point guard . Yeah , um I was about to say what D-Lo shows up and what AD shows up .

Speaker 3

And that's , and that's why I can't . Yeah , I don't trust AD , bro , I'm sorry yeah .

Speaker 2

He's been playing pretty good lately .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I mean he all . I mean , like I said , he's playing pretty good His whole career , yeah , but it's like but that shit in the playoffs there's game on my ass .

Speaker 1

It's like it seem like they need .

Speaker 3

They need 2012 , 13 , 18 , lebron , and that's not . He's not a person , no more , bro . So it's just like LeBron still For them to win the championship , lebron gotta be able to go half 50 and we've even seen him last year Be like I'ma go get 40 in the first half and AD not there for me . He getting tired , I get tired . Yeah , cause he 40 , and that's okay , I get tired , I'm 32 .

Speaker 1

You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 3

So it's just like but but yeah , he not , he not being a good little bro At all . And then D-Lo is just too silly . Yeah , d-lo has got all the talent In the world , but he's just Clearly he's a silly guy . You know what I'm saying ? I ain't trying to be you be bringing the . You know what I'm saying when niggas date who they date . You can't trust them sometimes .

Speaker 2

Yeah , man , he soft , he got that white girlfriend . You know what I mean .

Speaker 3

So it's just like it say what it say bro .

Speaker 2

Jordan was how you gonna make .

Speaker 3

How you gonna make somebody Lose , they white girlfriend . And then you get what Ain't that a bitch yeah . It's fucked up that was a while back Outside of Larry .

Speaker 2

Bird and maybe Joker Joker who , the last nigga To dominate the league With a white woman .

Speaker 3

I mean , jordan got one now , but that's post career .

Speaker 2

Now he was playing , he was going home to Barber , yeah .

Speaker 3

Yeah , even Dirk won his championship With a black queen . Come on man , I'm saying he was coming to the arena .

Speaker 1

To go plates Like yeah .

Speaker 3

Oh yeah , so you black for real , you at the Crockett Facts .

Speaker 1

You eating out of Not a goddamn Tub war .

Speaker 2

I'm just saying .

Speaker 1

Facts . I'm just asking , you know .

Speaker 3

Yeah , that's true .

Speaker 2

I'm trying . You know what I'm saying , that's true . Y'all just got a black wife , yeah .

Speaker 3

No , I , you know I'm looking for a black wife . You know what I'm saying . So y'all , I'm at that point .

Speaker 1

I think chick is Stay hurt , yeah , stay hurt .

Speaker 2

You see where he at he's African yeah yeah , straight African . That's why the Knicks gotta get somebody else , because of Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson .

Speaker 3

Ooh , julius Randle boy man , but we ain't gonna . I guess we can't get canceled . We too , we too real to get canceled . It wouldn't even affect nothing , you know what ? I'm saying yeah , this is all you know .

Speaker 2

But I'm just saying that is a real statistic . I'm just saying Coldest niggas we have in Black Lives .

Speaker 3

I mean Barack is the biggest proof .

Speaker 2

Because it's just like .

Speaker 3

Barack really not president without Michelle . Michelle nailed it there .

Speaker 2

You know how cold you gotta be to make it . Kobe had to be Kobe . That's how cold you gotta be . And she's original and his wife still was original .

Speaker 3

You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 1

That's close .

Speaker 2

Close , but no cigar Close . He was cold .

Speaker 3

I was gonna say something . I don't even wanna say what I was gonna say .

Speaker 1

You gotta be sitting over here thinking like Damn what they wives . Look like , that's what I'm saying . Say you got me sitting over here thinking like damn what would they wives look like ?

Speaker 2

That's what I'm saying . Go back . I'm just saying the 90s was Jordan Hakeem , the Tim Duncan , yeah .

Speaker 3

That's that Europe . Man Kobe grew up over there .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it's Kobe , that's what I'm saying , damn . But I'm saying like two chicken up .

Speaker 2

You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 3

We got shit to do , it ain't . No way I'm not grabbing one of them .

Speaker 1

Greats , you know in that time period it was a lot going on . Back then they tried him and Brandy I mean Brandy , that was Brandy King , but we know what the Brandy said Her mama , they blood and shit . I'm not being with nobody , I , I'm not being with nobody , I'm not being with no blood .

Speaker 2

She got with Quinn Richardson man , my uncle Niggas from the Wild Hunts man , yeah .

Speaker 3

My son and uncle Can't be no blood , that's just . And I've got bloods In my family and Crips . You know what I'm saying . But no , if I'm Kobe , I'm not going for that .

Speaker 2

Yeah , true .

Speaker 3

She could've even did Like a Tracee , ellis , or something , man , that would be the best of both worlds , nah she's too old .

Speaker 2

She's too old , I mean it was a photo of Halle Berry .

Speaker 1

I had fucking the fuck out of him back in the day so he could have had .

Speaker 3

Halle too , that's what she said .

Speaker 1

It's like it's one of them Instagram pages where motherfuckers be staring at him and shit and Hall . It was like .

Speaker 3

I'm out the game bro .

Speaker 4

You know what I'm saying ? He's a smart man .

Speaker 2

That's why he needed to . He went to one rap video . Got a wife . Yeah , he needed to wife up Cause he was in the gym . That's what these other niggas Need to do .

Speaker 3

And that's what he . I saw LeBron Jr year or whatever , cause Sebastian Telford . And then was there , maybe going into his senior year , and he was like he told them niggas Like y'all need to get a wife . And LeBron , the only nigga , seemed like they really it was Sebastian .

Speaker 2

He got divorced though . Yeah , sebastian got divorced .

Speaker 3

Now he out here saying Don't get married and shit .

Speaker 2

You know what I mean Shout out my nigga . He threw like man I'm better than all the niggas , that shit was so good I got one more , though on the basketball tip .

Speaker 3

We can move on from there , but does Stephon Marbury have a case ?

Speaker 2

of being in the basketball . Don't even ask no silly question like that , obviously .

Speaker 3

Why do you feel like they don't fuck with bro ?

Speaker 2

Because he just blackballed the NBA . Wasn't he eating Vaseline and shit out here ?

Speaker 1

He left the NBA in such a Did his own shit , got his own shoes , so they just not gonna let him .

Speaker 2

No , he would have to make that happen as a business . That's some business shit . You know what I'm saying .

Speaker 1

That shit ain't just best off there .

Speaker 2

He was a dog too , bro , so I feel like he started coming around more and really started to make that connection Because , like you said , it's about the international . He was an NBA all-star , he was a top pick in the NBA , obviously an icon in China .

Speaker 3

She did more than .

Speaker 1

Yao Ming . Yeah , that's real . Yao Ming got in for sure . He did just about as much that nigga's body broke down .

Speaker 2

Yao Ming probably played a few more years in the NBA than him , but not that many .

Speaker 3

Yeah , that's true , okay , I just wanted to Check the temperature . On that . I'm not mad at it , bro . Nah , that's obvious to me . Okay , make sure I ain't crazy . That's not what he did in China .

Speaker 2

It's not like he went to China and was like a woman and came . No , that nigga became Like a Chinese god In basketball . What ?

Speaker 1

Shout out to Shout out to bro man yeah , facts , but yeah , I ain't socials . They can you know , tap in with y'all man for before the socials .

Speaker 3

Uh , 20 000 hours . Volume one yes , sir , we put that out in 2023 , right ? Yeah , yeah , my years all fucked up since covid , but you know it's , it's above average . I'm just gonna say that . I'm just gonna start there . It's above average music . Death Ground Another project On the way Very soon . It's complete Okay , under the Alchemist Act On some like , we rap better than y'all Type shit . You know what I'm saying . We got volume 2 In the tuck . Okay , we just started on volume 3 With Ray Ray AR , one of our other Little homies , or whatever , I don't know .

Speaker 3

What he going by Above ground , yet what ? You talking about Uh , what's ?

Speaker 2

his name with the E . Oh , yeah , we'll wait . Yeah , we'll wait .

Speaker 3

Like I said , I don't know what his career Like right now . But we , you know we cooking , and I'm just letting y'all know now , put your shit out , go ahead , put your shit out now . You know what I'm saying ?

Speaker 1

Humbly you know what I'm saying .

Speaker 3

Because we coming and you know that's all I got to say Social liberty , tenell Wentmore , follow me on all that shit , but also just see me in real life Because I'm accessible . You know what I'm saying . I be on the north side , west side most of the time , midtown , fuck with your boy . I'm out here To the casket drop .

Speaker 1

Sir .

Speaker 2

Man , earth man . All I gotta say is , like he said , we're really putting a lot of effort into this shit . Uh , it means something to us , you know . And um , we're just trying to elevate the space yeah you know I mean keeping it simple . So , yeah , follow me . Big esco , big escocom , just doing a lot of random fucking shit . Yep , yeah , uh , oh . Follow the youtube souls . Yep , yeah , oh . Follow the YouTube . So it's a Libria course . And then follow the other one to educate , self-cultivate others .

Speaker 3

Yeah , get you some good .

Speaker 1

Just got

Supporting Local Artists and Communities

Speaker 1

a whole bunch . I say , yeah , the clothes clothing , yeah the clothes Educate self-cultivate others , bro .

Speaker 3

That's what life is about , man .

Speaker 2

That's what we are of those type of things , and it's like also something else I need to address .

Speaker 3

We need the scene is we have a lot of good artists that support each other , but we need the niggas who not artists , to fucking do something you know I'm saying and not just come get drunk with us . Sometimes we need support in a different way . We need you know I'm saying because that's what's missing here just even from from living in Chicago and coming back . They got fans . We got a bunch of tight niggas with no fans . Niggas only feel like it's okay to be a fan if you nationally recognize . We got to stop that shit .

Speaker 2

You know why we got to stop that . You know why the niggas that you thought were the most talented , I'm telling you , they don't make the beats to play at the other places , they to play at the other places they don't got songs to play at the marquee . I'm for real and that's why I'm saying it sounds funny .

Speaker 3

That's even more reason why I say if you not under the club and I mean a lot of people , both you know go to work , then go to the club . So it's like it's an intersection . Sexy Red got everybody . She ain't just got . Whether you like Erykah Bad , be twerking the sexy red shit too . So we just saying support the niggas who not sexy red too , the way you would support her .

Speaker 1

Yeah , I agree we only seem to support the pop , the popping shit and what's popping is usually what vibrates a little lower .

Speaker 3

So , if you wanted to , I vibrate a little higher . Act , show the niggas that vibrate on that way and that frequency , the same type of energy that you show these other motherfuckers , and it ain't nothing against nobody , but we got we ain't got enough Indians . It's too many chiefs .

Speaker 1

That's all I'm gonna say y'all heard him man , support , support man , and do it without expecting something back . Feel me do it , because like what you like , like what you like , and it's talent out here , so y'all heard him man , so I appreciate y'all boys coming on man we appreciate you having us .

Speaker 3

Man , we gotta get back out here , you . You wanted a real one . I appreciate it , bro , I might do something special .

Speaker 2

Let you hear the project . Something like that for sure .

Speaker 1

You already know I'm trying to finish it out .

Speaker 2

You know I mean I invite you to the stew one time you say less man , you know , yeah , that's what we're gonna do . I'm calling here now . We're gonna have a listening party for death .

Speaker 3

We don't really be doing that for real ? When I say oh my God , def Ground bro . Oh my God , no features bro , but just like we getting into it .

Speaker 1

Yeah , we doing this shit , yeah , man .

Speaker 3

Man .

Speaker 1

Yeah man , y'all heard him , man . So make sure y'all tapping with them , boys , man , they out here doing it bro .
