But yeah, tap in with the merch store. And as always, thank you. Now, I ain't really got an explanation as to why it's been so long.

SPEAKER_02

Why it's been an explanation.

SPEAKER_00

A couple months since I had the podcast, other than hey man, motherfuckers got responsibilities. Responsibilities, like the Rugrats used to say. So uh, but I appreciate y'all. But motherfuckers was listening to the podcast this entire time. Because the little platform that I host that the show is hosted on, it sends me a uh breakdown every Monday, and one week it was like 400, 500. It was like, damn. So it's enough content out there for us to go back there and listen to it. So I appreciate y'all going back to listen to all the old contact and I contact content, and I appreciate y'all for being like, nigga, where's the new content? So, anyway, long story short, we got a new episode out here in the streets, and I have a returning guest on the podcast backed by popular demand because it went so well last time.

Catching Up On Life And Aging

SPEAKER_02

Oh, to be loved.

SPEAKER_00

It went so well last time that she's back on the podcast. So shout out to Ray for sliding through the Henny Nights podcast. Once again, I appreciate it. And this time she's prepared.

SPEAKER_02

I'm prepared.

SPEAKER_00

This time, she's prepared. And I hope you're ready. So, first of all, appreciate you for sliding through the show. Coming on the show. How you been?

SPEAKER_02

I've been good. I've been good. How about you? I'm good. It's good to hear you.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I'm sort of shit right now because I went to hoop today. And uh my first time hooping in like seven, eight months. We're getting old. Yeah, I'm fucking yeah, man. I said every bit of 37 out there, and then of course it was some young dudes out there too. So I'm just like, huh. It took a while for for the uh for this old mobile to get revved up. It took a while for me to finally be like, okay, okay. But no, man, it was good being out there, uh getting that exercise and trying to stay youthful.

SPEAKER_02

Youthful. You're 20 years next year, ain't it?

SPEAKER_00

In terms of high school, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're getting up there. And I bumped into some classmates uh at the Juneteenth uh festival here in St. Louis, too. We were talking about the 20, our 20th anniversary. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You're getting up there, old man.

SPEAKER_00

Relax. Relax. Like you ain't been out of high school fucking 20 years. Don't do that.

SPEAKER_02

It's coming up, it's coming up.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

It's 2028. So two more years. Exactly. Almost there.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm good, man. I'm I don't have no issues getting old. I'm cool with it. My hair is getting grayer and grayer every passing month. It's crazy. Um I'm starting to get gray in my my goatee too. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Things never change. How long have you been going gray?

SPEAKER_00

I've been going gray on top of my head since high school. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

For a long time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I had I've had gray since high school. But in terms of like what it looked like now, now it's really like okay. Like it's on the sides. It's a huge portion on the top now. Um, and like I said, the goatee, I noticed like two in the goatee the other day. Um that actually hit me more than the damn hair go up top on my head going gray.

SPEAKER_07

Damn.

SPEAKER_00

Cause like that, like, you know, like I said, I started graying at like 14. But seeing like the little fucking two strands in the goatee, and then, you know, the random gray hairs in your nose and shit, it's like, oh shit. Life is real. It's just getting up there, but I'm I'm, you know, blessed to see 37. I ain't tripping. You know, so and I got full head of hair, and my my hairlining ain't going nowhere. So I'm I'm cool, I'm happy. Some motherfuckers is bending the ball and shit like that. I'm already hell nah. Hell nah. So, yeah, but I'm good though. I'm good. Life is life is good. I can't complain.

Graduation Pride And Co-Parenting

SPEAKER_02

So, um well, last time I was on the pod, it was in February, like the end of February, right before March. And so much has happened since then. But one thing is I had a high school graduate, and it it's crazy to even think I had you feel.

SPEAKER_00

You call me old old.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm about to be 37 this year in November, and it's just like, wow, I really have an adult. I really have an adult, and um as Father's Day is approaching, it's just like I couldn't ask for a better co-parent to raise my son. I feel like he really um took advantage of everything he could academically throughout his school years. He's getting ready to go off to college in August. Um, he decided to go with Racker University. So um, it's in Virginia. He's gonna major in business. So just shout out to his dad for just raising a very exceptional human being. Father's Day is coming up, and he's definitely a big moving part foundation uh to my son and how he grew up. So I definitely appreciate him for that. And then also with Father's Day coming up, I know that you grew up in a two-parent household. Yeah, with so did I, okay, with both parents still married now. And as you know, our relationships with our parents, you know, the environment we're raising can really shape our foundation. And so for those who don't know, I wasn't born here. I was a doctor, but I truly appreciate having my dad in my life that's here, despite the circumstances from uh birth to adoption. But with that being said, I did want to take a moment just to reflect on the ways that your dad has positively shaped, positively shaped who you are. Okay, and just a chance for you to, you know, a moment to give your your final flowers before Father's Day, because Father's Day is tomorrow.

SPEAKER_00

Right, right. Right.

SPEAKER_02

So I have a little icebreaker for you before I put you in this hot seat today.

Father’s Day Question And Gratitude

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_02

And so as we reflect on just dads, my question for you was what is a moment that you've had with your father that you didn't fully appreciate until adulthood?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, um good question.

SPEAKER_00

First of all, shout out to Happy Father's Day to all the pop the pops and the fathers and the granddaddies and the papies out here. Um yeah, in terms of a memory and with my pops, um I remember him coming to all like my sporting events, like basketball for sure. Um, even getting put out of some games. But so the shit he was saying from the stands and arguing with referees and stuff like that. He was he's that. He he was that parent. And it was embarrassing sometimes. Like, yo, like sometimes just chill, be a fly, be a be a parent, a quiet parent. Um but uh he's like that with all sports though, very opinionated, yelling at the TV and stuff like that. So um that really stuck out to me. Uh has always stuck out to me of him, uh at least in my later years showing up to uh my sporting events. Um in terms of something other than that though, um something I remember. I remember um him always taking me down to Union Station because I was really into uh trains when I was younger. Um like like Thomas the Tank Engine, right? And so Union Station, obviously, the big train store inside of Union Station or whatever, and they had trains that actually would go around like the store and and the uh tracks and everything like that. So I remember like that was kind of like our our thing.

SPEAKER_02

Your thing that you did together.

SPEAKER_00

Growing up that we did together. He would take me to down to Union Station, and you know, if I wanted a new Thomas the Tank Engine toy, I would, you know, I would get it, you know. But yeah, that's something that always stuck out to me. And like I said, I remember, and then this was like four or five. Oh, okay, yeah. You know what I'm saying? This ain't like 10 or something like that. You know what I'm saying? This is like early, early, early memories. So yeah, him kind of just feeding in, feeding into that interest. Okay, you know what I'm saying? So, but uh, yeah, that's something that sticks out definitely.

Memories With Dad And Core Values

SPEAKER_02

What would you say that your dad taught you about resilience and overcoming challenges in life? Do you feel like he had advice for you growing up on how to overcome things?

SPEAKER_00

Uh my dad was strict as hell. Um something that sticks out that I kind of carry forward now is like taking care of what you need to take care of, like handling your business. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_02

Like before anything else.

SPEAKER_00

Before anything else. And like if you say you're gonna do something, keep your word, you know. So that's important. That's like a core value of mine that's guided me in my adulthood or whatever. Um keeping my word and the golden rule. Treat treat other people how you want to be treated. Um that I think a lot of people seem to forget nowadays. Um, but yeah, those kind of like fundamental pillars have like really guided my life. And that's not to say I almost always on the fucking street either. You know what I'm saying? Like, definitely when I was a teenager, you know, you want to do your own thing and not necessarily rebel, because I wasn't rebellious like that, but uh uh like you just trying to figure your shit out the way you want to figure it out, you know. So that makes sense. Um yeah, just uh uh a good moral compass and center around, like I said, respect and things like that. That was major. And he always was like, we need to be on time. So like, yeah, like I tried, I I picked up on some of that now. He would take hellas to get ready. Oh, to get ready for things, but like, yeah, like I'll be in the get in the my room playing the game, like I now. We know you know we need to be gone by such and such. Go ahead and get up and you know, get your stuff out the way so you be ready to go when it's time to go, type thing. And so I'm I'm not like to that extent now, but like punctuality is important, is important, yeah. Like not to have you know somebody waiting on you um if you got a reservation or appointment at a certain time trying to get there, yeah, or like even job interviews, you know what I'm saying? Like get there 15 minutes early, 10 minutes early, you know what I'm saying? So you don't look like you you frantic and rushing and stuff like that. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay.

Stepping Into A Father Figure Role

SPEAKER_02

And then I wanted to ask you what do you look forward to most about becoming a father in the future when you're ready to finally have children?

SPEAKER_00

Um so in my relationship now, um the dynamic has changed a little bit. Um we built the bond over time. Uh, because um, as if you don't know, my girlfriend uh Erica uh has a son. So um we built the bond over time, like it wasn't instant or anything like that. And I didn't need it to be instant, you know what I'm saying? Like, I don't want him to feel like because kids can feel like that, like he's taking my mama from me type situation or whatever, and I'm like, it's not anything like that, or whatever. Oh, it's also finding a balance of like letting Erica handle stuff versus like alright, I need to step in and like say something. Because it it is a difference coming from your mama versus it is coming from your your dad or you know, yeah, another male figure or whatever. So finding the balance of that, and I feel like over time, the way I played it, uh, it turned out exactly how it needed to be.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So one day it just clicks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, one day it just clicks, and there's no blue book to it. Um, and I even know that I don't technically have any of my own just yet. But um what do you look forward to when you do have kids? Yeah, just I mean, I'm kind of living it now of like going to certain events and sporting events, doing things and doing different uh I was gonna say adventures, but um exposed to different activities and things like that. Um and you know, I think we built a relationship where like he'll come to me and ask me certain things that he won't ask, you know, his mom. And we have talks of like, you know, expectations and things that I'm like expecting of him as he's getting older. And that came with time, that just didn't start. But yeah, it's gonna be the experiences for sure. Um molding somebody to try to be the best possible person they can be, not be perfect. I say be perfect, but mold them to be a good person because regardless of what society and the world tries to tell you, being a good person does go a long way.

SPEAKER_02

It does matter, and people remember that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, people remember that. So those type of values, more so than anything monetary or anything like that.

SPEAKER_02

So I love that. Yeah, that's good. That's good. Whoa. I just I was just curious.

SPEAKER_00

Right, hitting me with Father's Day questions, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And like the Father's Day, we gotta do the Father's Day questions. But as y'all know, Jay White loves a good question game.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So who who has better than the popsy but me and question the hell out of him? So this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna go, we're gonna do a speed round of four quick games. They're gonna be quick, y'all.

SPEAKER_03

Four quick games.

SPEAKER_02

They are short and to the point. Okay, I promise. And I'll explain each one as we go. Yeah, I'm gonna get to rambling. You be good. Just don't ramble. You gotta you gotta answer. We we're gonna answer.

SPEAKER_00

Whatever comes to my mind first.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Each of these games is gonna have a series of questions. I'm gonna ask the question, you'll answer, and then I'll respond with my answer. No pressure. Ready? No pressure, no pressure. No pressure. All right, the first one is something I like to call.

Hot Take Cold Take Speed Round

SPEAKER_02

Anyone might have heard me before it's called hot take or cold take. I'm just going to read a quick little statement. And if it's a hot take, that means you agree with the statement. And if it's a cold take, it means that you disagree. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

But we're gonna get through it. All right. Fuck it.

SPEAKER_00

We ball. Let's go. I was gonna say hot take or cold take. Correct. Okay, okay. I got it. I got it. I got it.

SPEAKER_02

All right, so the first one is ghosting is sometimes acceptable.

SPEAKER_01

Hot take or cold take?

SPEAKER_00

I gotta go with some my heart, right?

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I don't damn. Okay. Um ghosting is sometimes okay, is the question. Acceptable.

SPEAKER_02

So it's a situation of ghosting.

SPEAKER_00

See, see, that's where it's like, okay, I was supposed to just say hot take, cold take.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna I'm gonna alright, I'm gonna say cold take.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, why? Well, quick little Because niggas be weird. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Motherfuckers do weird these days, man.

SPEAKER_02

Like when you're pick up on disagree.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah, and on one end it's like, yeah, tell them about it, but on the other end, it's just like Just be straightforward. Sometimes you just gotta like just disappear out of the motherfucker. I I think I don't think that's a hot take. I just I think people are so weird. Now, I don't uh again, I don't feel like ghosting is the right thing to do, but it's also like nuanced.

SPEAKER_02

I think sometimes you just gotta ghost.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it's nuanced.

SPEAKER_02

Like sometimes you just gotta.

SPEAKER_00

If you okay, this person has a decent head on their shoulders and we just not vibing, then I feel like, yeah, just tell them like, hey, you know, be cool, you know, but in terms of like us going somewhere else, I don't think we're compatible. And I feel like that's the mature thing to do. But on the flip side, you might not do that. Motherfuckers are weirdos.

SPEAKER_02

They are weirdos, speech.

SPEAKER_00

They are so like Okay.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_00

And motherfuckers like to use that, you know, give me the itch shit as like an escape too, because like they did some some weird Something that you ain't used to or whatever, and that's kind of like I feel like a cop out, but yeah, I also feel like motherfuckers do be weird.

SPEAKER_02

No, they do.

SPEAKER_00

So I don't feel like that's a hot take.

SPEAKER_02

Um the next one is closure is overrated. Do you think closure is necessary?

SPEAKER_01

Hot take, close take. Um I be needing some closure. I ain't gonna lie.

SPEAKER_02

I be needing to close the chapter.

SPEAKER_00

So hot take hot take mean is controversial.

SPEAKER_02

So hot take means you agree, and then the cold tech means you disagree. So you had it, I think you had it opposite last time, but I understand what you mean.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, I had it opposite.

SPEAKER_02

So the cold the cold tech means you you disagree. Hot take means you agree.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

I disagree, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

So this is uh uh Okay, so if I agree, okay, yeah. Ghost and like I said, ghost the last one, ghost and some motherfuckers sometimes. Yeah, okay, cool. So I agree with that. Um repeat the question.

SPEAKER_02

It was close, is closure necessary. Is closure overrated?

SPEAKER_00

Uh Colt tape. I don't I I personally don't need it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I personally don't need it. Um you made the you made the decision to not to not fuck with me in whatever capacity. All right, cool. You know, I don't need I don't need the why.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

It just is what it is. Uh you're gonna keep going about your day. I'm gonna keep going about mine. I don't need it. I don't think I've gotten closure. Yeah. I don't think I've ever gotten closure.

SPEAKER_02

You just kind of went on with life.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it just keep on. Yeah, motherfuckers just decide not to. I I get it. Everybody ain't the same. It's yeah, everybody it's motherfuckers in here right now that don't feel that way. But yeah, I don't need to fucking Okay. No running behind you and be like, well, why? I I've been I went down that road before. Yeah, it's just at this point. And even when I went down that road, I didn't the the closure quote unquote that I got was a lame ass reason. Oh, so it didn't give you anything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so it's just like okay, so it wasn't necessary. I get it.

SPEAKER_00

So it's like okay, whatever.

SPEAKER_02

But it makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um the next one is money absolutely can buy happiness.

SPEAKER_00

I take when them when them when that rent and them bills paid and you still got some money. You still got some some some shoes, you still got some cheese left over, nigga. Yeah. You're just gonna buy some buy you seafood, boy, and I bet you'd be happy. Bet you be happy, yeah. It can.

SPEAKER_01

Some friendships only survive because of history.

SPEAKER_00

Hot take.

SPEAKER_01

Hot take, okay.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like people hold on to real um friendships longer platonic friendships and you know.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Shit, even with family, yeah. Hold on to it longer than they need to.

SPEAKER_02

Hot take too for me.

SPEAKER_00

Just for the sake of proximity.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Convenience had has made people less patient.

SPEAKER_07

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Hot take to me.

SPEAKER_07

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Because I feel like if we didn't have so much convenience, people wouldn't be so impatient and mad all the time. I think we want things right there, right then and there when we wonder. And we lazy. We want other people to do stuff we don't want to do.

SPEAKER_00

I'm a motherfucker. I will pay for some fucking convenience in a heartbeat.

SPEAKER_02

So you think it's made people less patient though? When it comes to the case.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, people in general are not patient. Not patient at all. Everybody's let me not generalize. Um, there are some people out there that are just out there for themselves. So true. Um, it's all about me in the moment, address me, take care of me, solve my problem. And uh, yeah, and it's hard. I mean, because there are a lot of factors going on in the world today where you like, you gotta worry right now, you gotta worry about inflation, you gotta worry about for putting food on the table, you gotta worry about putting gas in the car, you gotta worry about being overworked and underpaid. Um, you know, the people are dealing with real-world problems, so they have shorter fuses. Yeah, you know, I don't, I don't, you know, and maybe our parents and grandparents had the same shorter fuses as always, and we didn't, you know, as everybody as we do now, and the only reason we ain't know about it is because it wasn't in our face every single day like it is with social media. You know what I'm saying? People getting shot and shit in the drive-through of, you know, like of a Starbucks. Like, what? You know what I'm saying? So random. Um I'll go hot take.

SPEAKER_02

Hot take, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Because, you know, people people are in a rush, and people only think about what they got going on in their world. Um, but I will gladly pay for some convenience. Pay for some convenient shit. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

The next one is networking is more important than actual talent now.

SPEAKER_00

It's hella funny you asking me this because I was thinking about Clubhouse the other day. Um you you know what Clubhouse is?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay. So I feel like everybody that listened to this know what clubhouse is, I was. But in case you don't remember, during the pandemic, um people were cra craving ways to connect and stuff like that. And Clubhouse was a platform that initially was like invite-only. Yeah, I remember to get on there, and then you were like basically you remember party rooms? Yeah, okay, like when you would call into like a random number and be in a fucking lobby with motherfuckers you've never met and don't know, and y'all just talking back and forth. I do. Clubhouse reminds me, it's it was essentially what Clubhouse was. I mean, you could hop in different rooms depending on the topic. And of course, this is during the pandemic, so like um you really didn't have face-to-face interactions with people in like in large settings or whatever. Um, you know, you may see your people on Zoom, or if your people were comfortable kind of with you pulling up, then you could do that. But Clubhouse was like kind of filled that void. And so you could hop in different rooms and on different topics and chit chat. And like, that's all like motherfuckers was pushing that shit on Clubhouse. Like, if you ain't in here making connections, you ain't on shit, you know, you tripping, you just on here to play all day. Like, motherfuckers really, really on that. Motherfuckers was really, really on that shit. And I it's funny you asked this question because I literally thought about Clubhouse and motherfuckers was really pushing that networking shit. Like, yeah, oh, you gotta do it, you gotta do it. Um and I I feel weird about just networking events in general, because sometimes it's just like what's the what's the purpose? Because if depending on who or what the event is, people already have like uh like have established little, I don't want to call it clicks, but groups and people they already hang out with or whatever, and it just kind of feels like it's for sure. Like, what do you or what do you can you do for me type situation? So I went on a rant. You good answer, what was the question again?

SPEAKER_02

Essentially it's saying, do you think that sometimes like networking as in like it's about who you know and not actually being talented?

SPEAKER_00

It can be, yeah, yeah. Uh it's a hot take. Yeah, I feel like, and people talk about St. Louis like that all the time, like being in certain social groups or being uh cool, cool with or know certain people to get access to certain things, certain things, to certain things, versus like um the people who like maybe don't necessarily do that or are lesser known, but have the talent that could bring something fresh or a new perspective to you know whatever it may be. So um yeah, it it can be performative. So I'd say performative, okay. I'll say hot take.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, hot take. It's a hot take. Okay.

Relationship Dealbreakers And Marriage Priorities

SPEAKER_02

Um the next one is about ranking your answer on the three options I give you. So I'll give you the options. You just gonna tell me like what's most important or whatever. So what do you think is most likely to ruin a relationship first? And I'm gonna give you three things jealousy, poor communication, or financial problems. Who would you rank those in? One, two, and three. Jealousy, poor communication, poor communication, financial problems.

SPEAKER_01

What do you think will ruin a relationship first?

SPEAKER_06

First.

SPEAKER_00

Jealousy, financial problems, poor communication. Um see this is also depending on your perspective too. Cause I feel like at this age, like if you asked me this at 23, I probably would have said like jealousy.

SPEAKER_02

Jealousy first, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But as a fucking gray-haired 37 year old 37-year-old, I would say poor communication one.

SPEAKER_02

Me too. That was my first one.

SPEAKER_00

Financial two. Yes, and jealousy three. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Now that's not to say motherfuckers don't be jealous.

SPEAKER_02

But it's just not at the top.

SPEAKER_00

The motion they partner got.

SPEAKER_02

Poor communication can definitely ruin all those things. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And you can damn near swap financial and poor communication.

SPEAKER_02

Two of them. Yeah, it depends on how the situation is. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But it but I think it depends on where you are in life. And so I would say, yeah, definitely poor communication. Motherfuckers don't know how to talk to each other.

SPEAKER_01

They don't.

SPEAKER_00

Without um listening to the person, whatever the person is saying to you that they don't like that you did, then you somehow deflect that and make it, you know. Well, you did this, this, this, and this. And so you're just like you're just sucking all the wind out of this person telling you or communicating to you how they feel about something to protect you because you like, well, you attacking me, so I'm gonna attack you. So yeah. Uh yeah. Jealousy at this big ass age.

SPEAKER_02

I it's not up there. I don't know. Yeah, nothing.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I guess there are things you could be jealous about. Um, but yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

What what do you think is the most important thing to know before marriage between these three different things?

SPEAKER_01

Another person's family dynamics, their financial habits, or their future goals.

SPEAKER_06

Uh well, I would say financial one.

SPEAKER_01

Future goals too.

SPEAKER_00

Because you can see you can see uh somebody's spending habits pretty early. Relatively quickly. Like straight up. You can see, like, okay, this motherfucker go crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, or whatever. I mean, they they maintain whatever they got going on, but this motherfucker goes kind of crazy. Uh, I would say spending habits.

SPEAKER_02

Um I said future goals too, but I said for one financial habits, future goals two for me, and family dynamics three. Because family dynamics, that just depends. Yeah, family dynamics can be Because a person could grow up in a really fucked up family dynamic, but then be a really good person. It like they could come up with the complete opposite because they want to avoid the dynamic they grew up in.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, I got you. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um I've met a lot of people that have a hard upbringing, but then ended up being an amazing person.

SPEAKER_00

That takes work too. But um it's financial one, number one, bro. Because yeah, you see that, you see that in the first few months. Um family dynamics, and what was the other one?

SPEAKER_02

Uh family dynamics, future goals.

SPEAKER_00

I'd probably say family dynamics two, future goals three.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Because I feel like your goals are kind of tied into your financial spending habits too. Like um. You can see where your priorities lie with the with the financials, the spending habits. Or whatever. So that also give you an indicator, like, oh, okay. If I wanted to, if I for whatever reason we ever did go um, I was gonna say the distance. But uh um if we actually start to have serious talks about our future and stuff like that, yeah, that's gonna come to the table.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, you're right.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, and then the family stuff will be too, because yeah, but it's like me personally, I don't really care if I would like somebody's um family to like me, but at the end of the day, at the end of the day, I'm not dating, I'm not dating your parents or your auntie or I'm dating you, you know what I'm saying? So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Um I'm gonna I'm going I'm going forward to our third game. Would you rather it's the would you rather um hear what people have to say about you being and this is your only option. So would you rather hear what people have to say behind your back or never know how people feel about you at all? So you don't know how nobody feels about you. Or you know everything that people feel about you, good and bad.

SPEAKER_00

I I don't I don't need to know what somebody said behind my back.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

At this point. Because what I um what could you say?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

True.

SPEAKER_00

What what could you say that it's not that it's not gonna change or move anything? Right. Move the need. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I agree.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm gonna stay out the way, you know what I'm saying? So you would be actively going out of your way to say some shit about me behind my back for what's the what's the benefit? What are you getting out of that? You know what I'm saying? So I yeah, I don't really care.

SPEAKER_02

So would you rather every decision be made for you or you be responsible for every decision for everyone around you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I have to be, I have to have some semblance of control around this motherfucker. So you're making everybody's decisions. I don't make everybody's decision. Uh if I if I have to, you're gonna do it, yeah. But you ain't gonna tell me what to do. Yeah, but you fucking you're not gonna make my decisions.

SPEAKER_02

Hell no.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like every every decision, hell no.

SPEAKER_02

But you also responsible for everybody in your life.

SPEAKER_00

That's cool. That means motherfuckers marching to my beat. So I may not like it, but all right.

SPEAKER_02

Last one for the would you rather? Would you rather have unlimited money but no meaningful relationships? Or have plenty of many meaningful relationships but struggle financially.

SPEAKER_00

Give me that money.

SPEAKER_02

Run me that money, run me that check, nigga.

SPEAKER_00

Run me that money, run that check, man. Fuck it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay. Okay, I feel it.

SPEAKER_00

Run them funds.

SPEAKER_02

I feel it. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Spin that shit. Spin that shit, spin that shit, spin that shit. Hell yeah. Hell yeah.

Morality Meter And Getting Paid Back

SPEAKER_02

The last one is morality meter. So it's just situational questions. What would you do in this situation, Jay? Your co-worker is about to be blamed for a mistake that you made, Jay White. Are you admitting to it immediately? Are you admitting to it only if they ask you directly? Or are you just gonna stay quiet?

SPEAKER_00

I've I've admitted to in my job. I've I've fucked something up and I like I did it. Yeah, so like that, yeah. That goes back to that moral compass shit I was talking about earlier. Um, yeah, but um, if I fumble something or fuck something up, I'll be like, yeah, okay, that's on me. That's on me. I I fucked that up. Yeah, my bad.

SPEAKER_02

I would too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You witness a parent being extremely harsh with a child in public. Are you intervening, monitoring the situation, or staying out of it completely?

SPEAKER_00

Monitoring that shit. You ever seen a fucking kid get fried in the fucking store, boys? In the middle of the storm? Like shit.

SPEAKER_02

I'm pretty sure it did. I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm pretty sure. I don't know if I ever got uh I don't remember ever getting whooped in the store, in the middle of the store. Thought of to get my shit together. Yeah. I remember vividly. I remember vividly. It was me and my cousin out with my mom. She was doing something. My cousin was acting a fool. And my mama chew her ass out. I was like, yeah, it ain't so fucking fun when it's your ass now, huh? I was cheesing this shit. I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, catch the work. Yeah. I'm an observer.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Get your shit together.

SPEAKER_02

When it comes to gift giving, are you keeping it a secret? Do you be giving hints along the way, or do you tell them because you can't hold water?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I keep it a secret.

SPEAKER_02

Damn, I can't hold water. I'll be having to tell you. I be giving a little.

SPEAKER_00

It's easy. It's easy for me.

SPEAKER_02

It's easy for you. It's hard for me. It's hard. I'll be wanting to even know. I got you what you like.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna be the parent with like, yeah, you don't think you was getting that, did you? That's gonna be my type of type of vibe. I can I ain't gotta tell you. Don't be burnt. I don't understand how I'd be burning y'all up to tell.

SPEAKER_02

It just does, because you just be excited. You want to see their face, you want to see them smiling and all that other stuff.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, bro. It just defeats the purpose. Like I try. You damn near you be ready to give the shit to them right then and there.

SPEAKER_02

I know, it's hard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I ain't never win.

SPEAKER_02

I think as a woman, we be one to tell y'all. We got y'all something.

SPEAKER_00

You ain't never had that problem. You ain't got to shit. You might fuck around thinking I ain't getting you shit. I'd be so tight, tight lip about stuff. I'd be hella, I'd be hella tight-lipped about gifts.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. A friend tells a secret that affects another mutual friend. Are you keeping it a secret yourself? Are you encouraging them to tell the other person? Or are you just gonna tell the other person yourself?

SPEAKER_00

I'm encouraging them to tell.

SPEAKER_02

But what if they don't? You just don't leave it alone. That's that's on you.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, that's that's that's um, that's on you. Yeah, that's that's on you, man. Um like, hey, you need to say something. But like what what could it gotta be some like damning type shit.

SPEAKER_02

It has to be, you know, they they did something wrong and to your other friend. That's all. Just one of them situations.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I would encourage them.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm definitely I'm gonna at least affect I'm at least encouraged like bro, you need to say something. You need to say something about that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You loan a friend or family member some money that they really need it. But they don't make they don't make it a priority when it comes to paying you back. Are you asking for it immediately? We got it. Are you gonna give them grace or are you just gonna let it go?

SPEAKER_00

We know Fuck no, nigga. Run me my funds. Hell nah. Hell nah. Hell nah, bro.

SPEAKER_02

They say you should assume you ain't getting it back sometimes. I ain't assuming shit.

SPEAKER_00

We came to an agreement. Like, hey, you don't pay me back. I mean, I didn't I didn't fucking got it too with motherfuckers over money before. I had to get with get with somebody on Facebook in front of front of random strangers. Yeah. Yeah. About some some money I was owed.

SPEAKER_02

Did you get it back?

SPEAKER_00

Eventually, yeah. Yeah, I eventually got it back.

SPEAKER_02

The post was speeding it up.

SPEAKER_00

So um it was some money that was owed to me. And in their defense, they had a lot going on. Personal family stuff. I ain't gonna go into details about it. But they they had some personal family stuff going on, which I understood.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But the problem lies where, okay, I asked you about it. You tell me you got all this personal stuff going on. I'm understanding of that. And then you then say, but I'm gonna get it to you. You now you extended that, okay. You gonna get it to me. Alright, cool, you know. Couple weeks time or whatever, whatever the time period is, yeah, just get it to me. One month, two months pass. Now it's like alright. So I make a little comment or status on Facebook. And shortly after that, the person makes top makes a little comment on their Facebook. And I was like, oh, that's what we own. So I commented on their stuff like, all right, that's what's up. When you gonna run me my money?

SPEAKER_02

I said it just like this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like what's what's what's up? Alright, cool. So you got my bread.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And it became a whole thing. And motherfuckers be acting up on, be showing out on Facebook. I'm like, this ain't got nothing to do with that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this was the only place you was responding to.

SPEAKER_00

You seem like you respond better when it's right here on blast versus you know, us, because we were cool, you know what I'm saying? We got a relationship or whatever, but you doing all this or whatever, where you could have just kept it a bug with me and been like, it's gonna take me longer to get you this money. And I'm you know, I wasn't hungry for it, but now we like five, six months past the point, you know what I'm saying, where you're supposed to get it to me.

SPEAKER_02

And you it's the fact that you haven't said anything.

SPEAKER_00

It's the the respect part for me. So yeah, I had to get with somebody on that front, because you're not gonna do that. We're not doing that. So but yeah, yeah, run me my fund, run me what you owe me.

Social Handles And Monthly Podcast Plan

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well, that was all my games and shenanigans for today. For today. For today, but I'll be back for some more. For today if you'll let me.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. For today? Cool, cool, cool. That was cool.

SPEAKER_02

That was cool, okay. I'm gonna run a little questions game.

SPEAKER_00

Fucking uh co-take, hot take, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I like that.

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_02

I seen somebody else do that. That's what that's where I got it from.

SPEAKER_00

Cool take, hot take. Yeah, hot take, cold tape, yeah. Yeah, I like the little Yeah, see, hot takes for me is like shit that's like controversial, like, ooh.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, controversial, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's a hot take type stuff. And so like sometimes the shit, I mean, like barbershops, if you ever sat in the barbershop, the motherfuckers be having the hottest. Yes, I have just the most outrageous fucking takes ever. You just be like, really? But yeah, it had to be something crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Something crazy, but yeah, so I appreciate you having me back on. Oh, for sure, for sure.

SPEAKER_00

For sure, for sure. So before we get out of here, do you uh did you give them your uh social media?

SPEAKER_02

I didn't. It's Naomi. Ooh. That's not what it is. It's by Ooh, I don't even know what my socials are anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I didn't.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see. It's by Rachel Naomi with the underscore thing.

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_02

Please get on him about it. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I'm going back to uh every two weeks. I think I'm just gonna do once a month once a month now.

SPEAKER_02

Do once a month, at the you should do it at the end of every month because we could talk about all the shit that happened up until then. Yeah. And then start again.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, for sure. You should I'm I think I'm gonna switch to I was it's now gonna be a monthly podcast. So yeah, you know, live some life and then come back and you know, shoot the shit, shoot the shit or have a guest on or whatever. So yeah, that's kind of the frequency of which I'm looking to, you know, start back recording. But appreciate you coming on. Thank you. Peace.

SPEAKER_03

I don't even know which to say.

SPEAKER_05
