A Terrible Privilege; reflecting the Light that is found in the dark with Karissa Rund - Renew Your Mind Series
In this powerful episode, I sit down with Karissa Rund, a woman whose life has been shaped by unimaginable pain—and unshakable faith. Karissa is a survivor of the Columbine High School shooting, a Gold Star widow after losing her Marine husband in the Iraq War, and now a fighter battling stage 4 colon cancer.
Despite wave after wave of loss and adversity, Karissa’s faith in Jesus has remained steadfast. Her story is one of supernatural resilience, radical hope, and the deep peace that comes from knowing Christ—even in life’s darkest moments.
If you’ve ever questioned how to hold on to faith when everything falls apart, Karissa’s testimony will inspire you to believe that God is present in every trial.
***UPDATE***
On March 3, 2025, Karissa succumbed to colon cancer.
In the March morning sunshine, in the solitude of her betrothed, wrapped in the love of her friends and family; by the grace of God, Karissa entered the Heavenly Kingdom.
Core Verse for this series:
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. –Romans 12:2
