On this week’s episode, I chat with an Air Force friend, Becky Heyse, who I met very early on in my career and continues to impress me with her leadership skills as well as her authenticity. Becky is a public affairs officer in the U.S. Air Force. During her 12-year career she has served in a variety of roles and locations around the world serving as an official spokesperson for senior leaders, leading teams of more than 20 people and serving as a mentor to Afghan government officials. She is currently a student at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
During our chat, we dive into her discovery of self awareness as a leader as well as learning how to focus on her strengths instead of trying to offset her weaknesses. This is a great episode for anyone trying to figure out how to learn more about themselves while leading a team.
