Morrissey Therapy
My name is Brian Morrissey, podcasting is something I have always wanted to do but never knew how to go about it or get started. Instead of not doing anything and regretting it later I decided to do something about it and not to let life just pass me by. Now I am in no means a therapist or even have a degree for that matter of any kind. I figured that with all this mess going on in the world, I would do a little something to try and make it better. So if all I do is to help just one person, even if it’s just a laugh to make someone’s day, then I have done what I set out to do. The goal of this podcast is to point people to Jesus.
How to Become a Christian

Welcome back to Morsey Therapy, and this is Memory Verse Monday Part eleven. There are moments in Scripture where heaven interrupts earth, where fear meets hope, where silence is broken by good news. Today's verse is one of those moments. It's from the Gospel of Luke, chapter two, verse ten and eleven. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. For unto you is born in this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Notice the announcement. Notice where it happens. Not in a palace, not to kings or religious leaders, but to shepherds, ordinary men working an ordinary night shift. The first words out of the angel's mouth weren't correction, they weren't judgment, they were comfort. Fear not because fear is always the first thing God addresses before he reveals what he's about to do. Then comes the message Good news, not advice, not rules, and not try harder. Good news. And not just joy, but great joy. And not just for some, but for all people. This is personal. For unto you is born. Not humanity is general, not the perfect, not the put it together, you a savior, not a motivational speaker, not a life coach, but a savior. Christ the Lord, meaning God didn't send help from a distance. He stepped into the mess himself. If you're carrying fear today, this for excuse me, this verse meets you there. If you feel overlooked, this verse speaks directly to you. If you feel unworthy, remember who heard it first. Shepherds. God didn't wait for the world to be ready. He came when the world was broken. And the announcement still stands. Fear doesn't get the final word. Joy does. Jesus does. Sit with the verse today, memorize it, repeat it when fear creeps in. Because the same Savior announced that night is the Savior we cling to today. Until next time, this is Morsi Therapy. Rise up in faith, move in power, and make it count.
