In 2017, legislators in Kentucky passed a bill that made a Biblical literacy an aspect of the state's academic standards for public schools.  The American Civil Liberties Union, however, had a fit and immediately began to challenge the law but in a curious way.  They published what they describe as a "consensus document", pulling together a number of religious and secular organizations, to align on what facets of Scripture can be taught in public schools in agreement with, at least in their view, the First Amendment.

The resulting document is called "The Bible & Public Schools:  A First Amendment Guide" and it is an interesting read.

Can the Bible be allowed to be taught in public schools?  Can you treat the Bible like a text book?  Is the transformational power of truth diminished when we do?  If the Bible is allowed, do we also allow other religious source texts like the Koran?

In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, we welcome back to the podcast Roger Erdvig from Summit Ministries.  Together, we work through these questions and more!
