It's going to be a fun summer as we converse with recognized though leaders in young Earth creationism, theistic evolution, geocentricity, flat Earth, and many other perspectives! It would certainly be convenient if there were, but there is no recipe for successful spiritual formation in the life of a young person. To borrow a piece of parable from Jesus, as parents and educators we scatter the seed and pray that the heart's soil is such that, by the grace and mercy of the Holy Spirit, it yields fruit. That's why, if recipe is the correct analogy (it's not, by the way), prayer is the secret sauce.
But, nevertheless, when it all comes together, it is certainly glorious.
Today, we have the opportunity to revel in a bit of that: three remarkable Northwest Christian Seniors share their stories from the summer of 2024. In each case, they gave more of themselves to mission and spiritual formation than, at one point, they may have known that they had.
And, the fruit of that, as heard today in their reflections of the summer past and their dreams of God's plans ahead, is very, very exciting to observe.
