I’m back, and I owe you the real reason the feed went quiet. After a huge run of content, I hit creative burnout hard. The ideas dried up, the work started feeling like I was going through the motions, and I couldn’t pretend that was the standard you deserve. So I stepped away, took the hit to my pride, and waited until I could create from a better place.

Now the Gentleman’s Journey Podcast is moving into its next era with a clearer identity. The early seasons leaned heavily into self-development, motivation, and improvement. Then I started blending in storytelling with reflective questions, and I’ll be honest, that format got harder to carry as my interests shifted. The passion didn’t disappear, but the stories I wanted to write stopped fitting the old lane. This comeback is a creative reset and a podcast reboot built around what I’m genuinely excited to make: narrative audio, character-driven arcs, and a universe that can grow over time.

Before the new chapter fully opens, I’m finishing what I promised. Grandeur returns as a tighter 10-part series in the classic format, serving as the send-off for Gent’s Journey as you’ve known it. After that, we step into Gent’s Journey Presents with new music, a new feel, and stories that range from love to horror to mythic ideas that have been waiting in the wings.

If you’ve ever felt your own “idea well” run dry, I think this will hit home. Subscribe so you don’t miss Grandeur, share this with a friend who’s rebuilding after burnout, and leave a review telling me what kind of stories you want next. What genre should I tackle first?

Welcome Back And Why I Left

SPEAKER_00

Hello and welcome to the Gentleman's Journey Podcast. My name is Anthony, your host. Guys, we are back. It's been it's been a minute, hasn't it? Sorry to get a drink there. Um you know, one of the things I'll just start off with, you know, in my absence. I don't know how to say this, so I'm just gonna say it. I I literally ran out of things to talk about. I my creativity was kind of in the dumps, and I feel that I was just kind of going through the motions with this. And honestly, with what I was doing and you know, for work and everything else, I was I was just at a level of burnout that I think was hard to accept. And fully realizing that and realizing that I wasn't able to give you the content that you deserve was a really hard thing for me really to accept. And you know, as you do this, as you do like a podcast and and you have a creative outlet, what a lot of people doesn't what they don't tell you is what happens when that creativity goes. You know, if you if you think about it, I was la last year we did 200 and what like 10 or 15 podcasts. I mean, I was doing literally a podcast a day, Monday through Friday, you know, and each one of those podcasts, maybe between 30 minutes, I mean, we had how many episodes of two or three hours of just straight content? And I remember someone asked me a while back, it was actually a question uh that I got from one of you. Like, what happens if this runs this well runs out? I'm like, ah, this well's never gonna run out, and it did. It absolutely did. The level of work and time and effort and energy and creativity and writing, I was literally writing a book every two weeks. It was it was pretty crazy, but it was my escape from what my life was at that time, you know. So as we're talking about that, as we're talking about escape, Jen's journey is gonna look a little different now. You know, in the in the beginning, you know, there's phases to this, right? The first phase of Gent's journey was all about self-development and improvement and motivation and all those things, right? Then the second part of Gent's journey was about storytelling and making it uh, you know, having like a self-development edge to it with the questions and everything else. And I'm gonna tell you, it was it's very hard to do that sometimes. Like like Death of Peace of Mind is a great example of that. You know, you're taking like a little serious color and then making a self-development edge to it. It's a different way of doing things, and I think that's the other thing, too, was the fact that my creativity in the space of self-development wasn't there anymore. That was a hard thing to accept, to be honest. That was a really hard thing to accept that the creativity or the love and passion I have for self-development wasn't there anymore. Not to say that I moved past it or beyond it or whatever. I'm not, I still read a lot of self-development. I'm still I love self-development, but as in storytelling and those kind of things, the stories that I want to do or wanted to do really didn't fit that niche anymore, I guess you could say. So, what Gent's journey is going to be now, we're gonna be more story-driven. There's not gonna be this self-development edge to it anymore. There's gonna be a lot more creativity to it, there's gonna be a lot of creative stories, there's going to be universes and stuff like that that are gonna start being built through this. And the everyday content, that's not gonna happen either. No, actually, let me bring that back. It will, but it won't. Let me tell you what I mean. So, I told you guys that when I was gonna come back, I was gonna finish Grant uh Grandeur, right? So let's talk about that series. That series kind of broke me. Writing, trying to get to a 20-episode series is a lot of hard work to do. One, but two, I got lost in it and I didn't really know where to go. And I know I've said this already, but I didn't know really where to go with it. And I said, and I gave you guys my word, that once I would start Gent's Journey, that would be the first thing that I would do. So to kind of send Gent's Journey off and start going into Gent's Journey Presents, we're going to finish Grandeur. It's gonna be a 10-part series. It's it's gonna be the same, it's gonna follow that same format, the same questions, everything else. We're not gonna do 20, we're gonna do 10. Um, and then after we finish that, then we're gonna go into Gent's Journey present present. Jeez, I can't talk, guys. Then we're gonna go into Gent Journey Gent Journey presents. Wow, I can't talk. And then from there, like I said, that's where we're gonna start really getting into storytelling. You know, there's a lot of things that I, you know, stories and characters that I really want to start diving into. Some, you know, I've always wanted to do a love story, you know, between two people and not have it have like a self-development edge. I really wanted to, there's some horror stories that I want to do. There's some mythological stuff that I want to do. There's there's a lot of other things and stories that I have that I want to write and present, but the characters and stories just wouldn't fit Gent's journey the way it is now. So, like I said, grandeur is going to be the send-off. And then after grandeur is done, it will be Gent's Journey presents. And it's gonna be a lot of great stories, a lot of great characters that I can't wait to introduce you to. There's going to be a universe that will be created just for this. And I cannot tell you, I cannot tell you how excited I am to share this with you. Just because of the fact of I'm in a really good place now. I'm in a really good creative place, and and a lot of the stressors I have, I don't have I I had, I don't have anymore. So I'll be able to really dedicate to this in a very, very creative way. And like I said, I'm just I'm just so excited about this, guys. And and I told you guys I would come back, and I and I have, and I will, and I did. Because to be honest, I missed you guys. I missed the interactions, I missed the questions, I missed the emails and and the text messages and all that stuff that I would get from you guys. So this is me coming back. Coming back, you know, at the you know, uh however you listen to me in the morning, afternoon, evening before the bed, whatever, this is me coming back into your life. And I just wanted to say, as I always tell you guys, I can't tell you how much I appreciate just the love and support that I've that I get from you guys, and I'm just very excited about this. So again, just so we're all clear, grandeur will start right after this. It'll be a 10-part series, it'll be the old format, and then once that's done, we'll talk about what Gent's Journey present looks like again, and then we're just gonna go from there. So, again, guys. Oh, that's the other thing, too. There's gonna be new music, there's gonna be a lot of new things, so yeah, that's uh that's the other thing I'm really excited about is the whole new feel of what Gence Journey presents going to be. So, again, guys, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your love, your support, thank you for everything that you guys have done for me. And as always, remember this you create your reality. Take care.
