"Never let the fear of striking out stop you from playing the game.”
-Babe Ruth
There isn't a better place or activity to learn life lessons form than sports. Whether you're playing soccer or baseball and learn to work within a team or you are competing in martial arts and wrestling and learn to push through pain, all sports provide invaluable lessons which set you up for success in life.
This week's guest is Nicole Mendez, former University of Oklahoma soft player and current member of the Mexico Olympic softball team. Nicole started all 4 years for the Sooners, leading their team to the College Softball World Series each year, coming away with 2 national championships!
Throughout this episode Nicole dives into what it takes to overcome failure and have success after it, what separates the good team from great ones, why most people quit and how to avoid it, how to structure your goals to maximize your opportunity to achieve them, and why it's important to invest in the things you want to have happen most.
Make sure to tune in next week to part two of our conversation with Nicole where we dive deeper into her experience on the Olympic team, 3 ways to improve your mental health and wellbeing, how to overcome a lack of motivation, and so much more!
