Wrestling Nostalgia And The NBA GOAT Fight From A Sixth Ave bar
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A random afternoon at Pizza Time Pub on Sixth Avenue turns into the kind of raw Tacoma sports podcast you cannot script. Frank and I were sitting in the window with a drink, a mic, and a full room behind us when the talk jumps from WWF nostalgia and all-time wrestler picks to a surprisingly serious question: why do we get so attached to the sports eras we grew up in? That thread runs through everything, even when we are cracking jokes or getting sidetracked by a no-caller ID interrupting the table.
Then we go right at the third rail of NBA conversation: LeBron James vs Michael Jordan and what “GOAT” even means. We argue stats, defense, rule changes, and longevity, and we admit the real issue is how different eras get judged by different standards. If you love NBA history, playoff basketball, or just hearing friends debate without polishing every word, this section is for you.
From there it opens up into stories and community: a deployment memory that still makes us laugh, draft talk through the lens of parenting, a live call-in with Casey Harkins, Seahawks and softball nostalgia, burger spots worth driving for, and Tacoma names that deserve more credit. We even get a surprise drop-by from Sam McMahon with tattoo info and quick San Diego travel tips before we close with shout-outs and a Grateful Dead send-off. If you like this shit, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review even, LIKEITORNOT

SPEAKER_07You are now listening to Like It or Not Like It Or Not. Yes, yes, yes. Like it or not, folks, we are back live on Sixth Avenue, guys. How are we doing, sports fans? We are this is Like It or Not, you guys fucking we're we're back so soon. I'm a podcast, I'm not a foodie on Instagram, I'm not a food influencer, I'm not a fucking content creator, I'm a podcaster and an ex-hooper. And I've got a fucking special guest today. And we got Trust One Beats in the background still. Of course. This is from actually 2018 from the Zones instrumental album here, guys. Ten songs of fucking goodness for you here. Um but I have a fucking special guest here, guys, again on my and I have a bunch of random series, and I have a new series called, you know, like we're interviewing just, you know, just local Tacoma, just unknown Tacoma locals. And this is another one of those fucking times where we are here at Pizza Time Club on six, they have live in the window, blue skies. There's not a cloud in sight from here to there. And we have a special guest, sports fans in the house, and we're gonna introduce that person here right fucking now. And we're gonna be for that. I'm gonna we're there everybody needs to calm down. We have a full house here, guys, at the Pizza Time Pub. And our special guest is none other than fucking Frank, the mother frickin' tank, uh Francis Bergford. Big Frank, how are we doing?
SPEAKER_11Oh, doing great. Thanks for having me on, bud.
SPEAKER_07Dude, hey, you know what? It's a pleasure to have you on, Frank. We've been talking about this for a minute now. Yeah, let's do a quick little cheers. I love how we cheers and I spilled whiskey right there, but that's just how we that's part of like it or not. It actually cleans the board really well.
SPEAKER_11Napkins? Dab it up a little bit. No, no, you don't think so?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you got some napkins in your Zen uh thing container right there.
SPEAKER_11That is uh a spitter.
SPEAKER_07Dude, uh it's a beautiful spring day, guys. It was April 16th, as we're sitting here right now. Uh looking across, we're looking at Kingfisher in the Rye, we're looking at Scorpio Rising, the Triple Knock, Busybody, Grand Restaurant, and the Bride's Cause. Just in case you ever get married or oh, yeah, let's go, dude. Why did we set a third mic up? Because we just did. But I mean, it's all to the good, man. We got another homie in the building, too. But hey, like it or not, guys, we are back with Francis Bergford in the motherfucking house, man. Frank! What's up, bud? Dude, how's the day fucking day going, bro? We're just tipping off here. What's what's going on, man?
SPEAKER_12You you know, you really can't complain. Just I mean, yeah, I mean it's a gorgeous day.
SPEAKER_07It makes you want to go sit on the porch at 1019. I'm all interrupted and shit.
SPEAKER_11Uh, you know, yeah, yeah. May maybe maybe like on the on the corner.
SPEAKER_07The A hip and fucking Frank episode, dude. Okay, so I mean, we talked about what we should talk about in this episode. We have a few talking points that really aren't really necessarily gonna get touched on. Um But you know what? Uh I do want to talk
WWF Nostalgia And Favorite Wrestlers
SPEAKER_07about this. I don't know if it's fucking if I'm just getting duped because the WWF is all a fucking stage and a soap opera and we all know this.
SPEAKER_11So I was so disappointed when I found out that that was fake.
SPEAKER_07With the J Uso thing?
SPEAKER_11No, no, no, it wouldn't be a good one. Oh, with WWF in general. Yeah. I was so upset.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you know what? I mean, it's not it's not cool. You know, but I mean, especially in our era, man. We I think of either way, we grew up in the best era. Cheers to that fucking chip one more time. I got a fucking drink too.
SPEAKER_11But uh when uh when NBA basketball was actually enjoyable to watch. No, I mean, well, yeah, I mean, we'll get into that too.
SPEAKER_07Uh well look, and let's name like your top three favorite wrestlers. I know there's like 20 to name because there's so many to drop. There's so much originality, so much genuality with fucking wrestling.
SPEAKER_11No, it's Jake the Snake.
SPEAKER_07You're talking about number one for you? Or what? Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_11That big python, and after he'd like knock somebody out, he'd take it out and throw the snake on him. That was so rad. Okay, okay. And then uh Hulk. Gotta go Hulk Hogan.
SPEAKER_07Hulk, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_11And then you know, I always I was always a fan of the Rowdy Roddy Piper.
SPEAKER_07Dude, I mean, what about fucking Teddy? Okay, Rowdy Roddy Piper. Why Rowdy Roddy Piper? Um, we have a fucking mysterious caller calling with no caller idea. It's probably some fucking uh who fucking knows who the fuck it is.
SPEAKER_11Samir from India.
SPEAKER_07It's Samir, yeah, Samir. Um, dude, what about like, I mean, let's just start dropping names like Jimmy Superfly or Superfly Jimmy Snooker. Ted DiBiase. There was the million dollar man. I'm pretty he probably wasn't even a millionaire, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_10Dude, who is who is his uh chick? Huh? He had a chick with him that always came out to the ring.
SPEAKER_07Oh, fucking uh was it Nancy, someone Nancy, misses uh she was Brunette, right? She was his girl, though.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dude, what the fuck, bro? I really want to talk to you. You should uh just answer it.
SPEAKER_07That is fucking terrible, dude. That is so terrible right there. That is just so gross to me. I I mean I thought those days were over of you getting cold called or getting fucking called like that, you know what I mean? With like a no-caller ID, dude. That's just fucking insane, bro.
SPEAKER_11Have you ever seen those reels of uh um I don't know, getting them and getting them on the no-call list and turning around and suing them or something like that?
SPEAKER_07I mean, there's gotta be something going on there, dude. It's just not fucking fair, you know what I'm saying? It's not fair. Anyways, guys, uh, yeah, Jimmy, I mean that that wrestling. The reason why I brought the WWF shit up is because Cameron, you know, and Mace, they have a really fucking you maybe you know Cameron and Mace, remember those guys from Dipset, like 07 rappers from the golden era of hip-hop, but they weren't really golden era rappers necessarily. Remember Mace turned into Kamuta God and Mace, Mace. Yeah, I mean, and then Cameron was more of like the hood, but they're from Harlem and stuff like that. And uh, and I anyways, Jay Uso. Wrestlers now? Jay no, Jay Uso, they have a fucking talk show that's like pretty fucking sick, actually. It's pretty dope, but I don't like this part of the talk show where they have Jay Uso on. He's uh from the family, like lineage of the rock and stuff like that. You know, he's a wrestler, he's fighting on Saturday, he's not fighting on the main car, the main event on Sunday, and they have him on the podcast, right? And it's like a fucking real big show, kind of, you know what I mean? Like they have this, they recruited this fucking white chick from Oregon named Trista Crick, and she's just like a fucking shit talking, annoying person that I've that's what I've come to the conclusion of. Sorry. I don't know ya, don't care to know ya, don't give a fuck about your opinion. You're getting paid by Cameron and Mace to talk just your out of the side of your fucking neck. Anyways. I gotta see this chick.
SPEAKER_11I'm gonna pull it up on the case.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Trista Crick, and then pull up the fucking incident with J Uso and uh and Cameron. I think it had to be an apploy for fucking the for the for the sport, you know, um, because Cameron was talking hella shit to J. Uso. You know, and they provoking him and to end up Jey Uso walked off his show and ended up like choking and pulling him over the fucking counter and getting a punch in.
SPEAKER_11What was that? What was that girl's name?
SPEAKER_07Uh Trista Crick with a K-R-I-C-K. And we over here talking about Jey Uso and Cameron. That is hilarious right there. Um, so uh, yeah, that's some bullshit. I think the uh W I've been fucking away from wrestling for fucking years. I haven't given a fuck about it, haven't followed it since I was 10 years old. You know what I mean? I feel like if you're fucking watching wrestling and you're fucking invested in wrestling these days, then I think you're like fucking fucked in the head and you have like nothing better to do. So sorry if I offended anybody out there that still fucks with wrestling. Like, don't get mad at me. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_11I I stopped watching wrestling when uh I don't know. When did I stop watching? A long, long time ago. Sorry, sorry, closer, closer. Long time ago.
SPEAKER_07Long yeah, me, that me too. That's what I'm saying. A long ass time ago. I just stopped giving a fuck about it. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_11You know, like uh I get on YouTube every once in a while when I have my uh boys, and I try putting on WWF, old school WWF.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, I mean, yeah, and they don't fuck with it?
SPEAKER_11No, not at all. See, man, it's like they they don't know what they're missing out.
SPEAKER_07Well, it's all about a uniform, you know what I mean? Like these dudes had flair back in the day, but they all had fucking the same fucking like spandex fucking shorts, just different colors and like you know, streams on the arm, Ultimate Warrior.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, they're different characters. Yeah, but I mean you have the bad guys and you have the good guys, and then you know, who's the dude that came out with uh the two by four? Haxaw Jim Duncan.
SPEAKER_07Hacksaw Holy Dude, uh, you know, some like Comic Con or some kind of one of those you know events like that. I saw a dude on on the on the internet. Yeah, the internet remains undefeated, whatever the fuck. But this dude, it was half his face was painted Hulk Hogan, half of it was Randy Macha Man Savage, so half his body was fucking Macho Man, half of it was fucking Hulk Hogan. So when he would fucking go to the side and do the fucking Hulk shit, and then he would turn the other side and be Randy Machaman Savage. He was a way better Macha Man impersonator. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_11Well, so how did his hair go? And he had it fucking split, dude. It was it was insane. The long hair to the side, he looks like Yeah, I mean, dude. And then and then just the the the wild hair.
SPEAKER_07Dude, you have to well, I'll find it for you. It's fucking amazing, dude. Um but yeah, that fucking happened. He's popping in another Zen, folks. This is not actually no, is that are those Zens? Grizzly, why do you have Zen Zen Grizzlies? Are you out of Zen?
SPEAKER_11No, I have a full can right there. It's just uh they didn't have Zen store? No, I I ever once in a while I like to throw in a real chew.
SPEAKER_07Do you ever fucking do one of the one or the other? Like one fucking chew and one Zen in the same spot?
SPEAKER_11No, that's disgusting.
SPEAKER_07Oh well, you know, some people are disgusting. Motherfuckers are disgusting, dude. The world's a disgusting fucking place for you.
SPEAKER_11I have not met anybody that has done that, but that sounds like a good dare.
SPEAKER_07It sounds like a good fucking dare. Sounds like a good dare. Okay, dare we get into some of the topics that we talked about, which we really didn't talk about too many.
LeBron Versus Jordan Gets Heated
SPEAKER_07We're talking about our freestyle.
SPEAKER_11Oh, I'm so excited about this one. How LeBron James is overrated. Let's also be in he does not belong in the GOAT conversation.
SPEAKER_07I almost invited Dave Jones down here to specifically meet with us so he could like talk to us about you know this part of the podcast.
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, here here's here's my two cents why he shouldn't even belong in the conversation is you throw up Michael Jordan statistics and then LeBron James statistics side by side for however long Jordan has played, and Jordan has him beat by twice, two to three times more in everything. You know, like like uh the one that comes to the top of my head is like defensive uh player of the year. Granted, the NBA doesn't play defense anymore. They stopped playing defense when Kobe got out of the league when he retired. That's when it all went to the boring like three-point shot, yada yada yada, which is a terrible, terrible, terrible game to watch. Um which game is that?
SPEAKER_12Oh, the current NBA game.
SPEAKER_07Oh, um well, I mean shit. You would have been surprised watching the playing games either last night and the night before. I'm not kidding. There were there's actually, you know what, there is some good, there's better basketball being played in the NBA, but I know what you mean. There was a fucking significant drop-off of just competitiveness, and the rule changes was insane. And like, you know, LeBron's patent LeBron's stats are what they are a lot because you know there's the Jordan rules, right?
SPEAKER_11He's been in the league for 21 years. Let's also recognize longevity. And I'm well I'm a Jordan fan. It's longevity, and LeBron James, I want to say he only has one or two seasons where he he played the full season. The full season. Look at look at how many games Jordan played. He he only missed a few games in his career.
SPEAKER_07Do you remember the Jordan rules? Do you remember the Jordan rules being like implemented?
SPEAKER_11Like in the Yep, yep. That was uh I want to say it was late 90s, yeah. Like like towards towards the end of his career, but then uh because no, that was like the mid-90s, like the early 90s, I think.
SPEAKER_07No, it wasn't. The Pistons, though. The bad boys were fucking them up. Right? That's why it happened. So it was 89, 90, 9192.
SPEAKER_11So like No, I but I I I want to say that that's when they first started talking about it, but they didn't start implementing it until like the late 90s, towards the end of his career. Okay, and then uh that's when you know that's kind of when Kobe was getting into it, uh, you know, as a rookie back then, and then he ended up uh using those to his advantage because he was one hell of a basketball player.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, I mean, yeah. No, totally, totally, totally.
SPEAKER_11And this has come from a Sonics fan.
SPEAKER_07We're gonna turn this truss one up for one second and attacks my son back. One second, okay. That's a sick ass beat from Trust One, too, by the way. Shout out to Trust One. Trust is about, well, I think, man, Truss might be breaking 50 here soon, man. So are we, Frank. But we're not gonna try to age ourselves right now. But dudes, back to the conversation. Now, you are we're gonna call it like a, you know, what does what do they kids say in the hood? A spade is a spade, or not like in the hood, but just a spade is a spade.
SPEAKER_11No, yeah, like I'm I'm gonna call out and see it. I definitely think that kind of gets me in trouble at work sometimes.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean I think LeBron definitely belongs in the conversation and the top five.
SPEAKER_11Not at all. You don't think he's a top five? No.
SPEAKER_07So who would you say your top five NBA players are then, right? Since we're on the verge of the playoffs and all that, and since we're on the subject.
SPEAKER_11Top five, okay. Right now, without without doing any reset research, top five would be uh in no particular order. This is no particular order. I'm just naming top five, okay? So Jordan, Bird, Johnson, Magic Johnson. I'd throw uh Tim Duncan in there. You'd throw Tim Duncan. Um I mean shit. And then then then you know, I'd I'd probably, you know, it it con I could go either way on Shaq or uh Kobe.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, okay. Well look let me give my top five right now as we sit here in this fucking beautiful window where we're like again, folks, we're live from Pizza Time Pub on Sixth Nav, where we're looking at the beautiful Kingfisher and the Rye. I miss Crown Bar, but I fuck with Kingfisher and the Rye, and there's not a clown in the sky. There's not a clown in the sky.
SPEAKER_11I can't see that. I'm looking straight across to Triple Knock.
SPEAKER_07Well, shout out to Triple Knock too, dude. But shout out to all these green again, busy body level.
SPEAKER_11So Primo Green. Right to the left of uh Triple Knock.
SPEAKER_07You can't jab.
SPEAKER_11Did you ever know that uh there's a sign on the second story of the building, of the minute building? And it was built in 1907. Well, shout out for Tacoma History right there. The Minetti building.
SPEAKER_07The eye is blocking the light post is blocking the eye, the Minetti building. It's the Minetti building. Shout out to the Minettis, Rachel Minetti. Where are they now?
SPEAKER_11What was their mascot? Do you know? For where? That school you were just talking about. The Scotties. How did they get the Scotties?
SPEAKER_07We had fucking shows at the Scottish Rite Temple back in the day, like dances and shit, dude. Like fucking slow. The dances back in our day were so fucking wild, brother. The music was awesome. The music was awesome. It was just like everyone was doing like zero auto-tune. Like zero fucking phones to look at. Yep, that too. That's huge, man. Like, you know, I don't know about you, Frank. I didn't get my first cell phone until fucking I was 22 years old, bro. And it wasn't even mine. Yeah, well. Well, actually, I I did about 22, 23, I got my own cell phone.
SPEAKER_11Oh yeah. Yeah. I was about that same. Yeah. And it was a big, it was a big brick one, and you had T9 texting. T9 texting. You had to go find the correct word.
SPEAKER_07T9 texting? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Oh, he's called. Yeah, yeah. T9 texting. And also, do you have to buy minutes?
SPEAKER_11Yep. No, well, you had it, you had a couple different ways. You had to buy minutes on some, or you could go get a.
SPEAKER_07I remember a plan, but the plan was like, Dude, Scott Hippel was buying minutes still like a year ago.
SPEAKER_11Well, those are burner phones, so you know, you got a reason why you got burner from the phone.
SPEAKER_07It wasn't no, he was just dodging these hoes, you know what I mean? It's a burner phone. He's not doing it no more.
SPEAKER_11It's a burner phone.
SPEAKER_07Changing his ways, you know what I mean? Changing his ways.
SPEAKER_11Well, hey, I I I don't I had I had I had a burner phone for uh new uh quite a few years when I got back from uh my deployment. Because I was all thinking some people were gonna spy on me. I was gonna that's why you get burning.
SPEAKER_12Oh yeah. Were you smoking weed in Afghanistan? Uh I never went never never went to Afghanistan. Oh no, okay.
SPEAKER_11But you know what?
A Deployment Story With A Twist
SPEAKER_11Yes, I did. I'll I'll tell you the story. Uh I wasn't in Afghanistan.
SPEAKER_07We'll get back to my top five here in a minute, folks.
SPEAKER_11This is uh this is kind of funny. Shout out to my little brother Jonathan. So uh early early in the news.
SPEAKER_12Hey, shout out to Ron McMahon. There we go now.
SPEAKER_11Um I remember talking to like uh talking to him on the phone because back then uh 04-05 when I was deployed. Right, right. Cell phones were. Yep, he was he was he was uh like a junior junior at Central, I think. Anyway, so uh called him up, talk to him. And uh he was like, hey, hey dude, what what can I get you? I was like, well man, tobacco is tough to come by and uh you know it'd be kind of funny if uh I got some weed. Just joking around. Totally joking around. Yeah, totally joking. So I I remember it'd take about three to four weeks for like packages to get over there, get to you. So like I I got done when I was done for the day or whatever, whatever we did, um came back to the tent that I was staying in, and in my uh this was at Camp Airfond Kuwait. Damn. Camp Airfond Kuwait.
SPEAKER_07This is like the block is hot. Yeah, like it's about 119 degrees out there. Probably. No, dead serious though, about 112 or something, 108.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's uh well no, no, it was it was kind of that hot. It was it was during this time of year, so it was probably like it was still hot. It was probably like mid-70s to 80s, dropped down to like 50s at night. But in the in the heat of the summer, like you know, fucking May, June, July, it it yeah.
SPEAKER_07That's wild, yeah.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, uh anyway, so like we were still getting acclimator, I don't know, but we were still down uh Camp Airfond. And uh so I get back and get this package in the cot and uh open it up. And it's for my little brother.
SPEAKER_12Dude, no fucking way, bro.
SPEAKER_07Can we talk about classified information like this right now at this point?
SPEAKER_11You're like this is not classified. Are you cleared? I uh have been been out of the army since 2007.
SPEAKER_07This allegedly happened, by the way. You know what I'm saying? This allegedly happened, by the way.
SPEAKER_11Um No, it didn't allegedly, it did happen. Allegedly happened, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07Allegedly. Allegedly happened, okay.
SPEAKER_11And so uh anyways, open up the package. It's like uh some rich Ritz crackers. Okay. Uh he wrote a little letter, a little note.
SPEAKER_07In the red box, the old traditional rich cracker box, dude.
SPEAKER_11Like no, it wasn't, no, it was in a yeah, yeah, sent it to uh UPS. Okay. Oh, so it was a brown box with the rich crackers in it, though. With the Ritz crackers in it, and there's like some Tim's Cascade jalapeno potato chips, which was fucking rad.
SPEAKER_07Fuck yeah, dude. Um shout out to your brother again for the case.
SPEAKER_11And then there was a jar of peanut butter. You didn't have a dog though. No.
SPEAKER_07Never had a dog either, so I heard it from all you dirty motherfuckers that do have dogs, and peanut fucking the guys super gross.
SPEAKER_11Dude, that's probably a Netflix series somewhere.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Um I've heard about a couple of you guys out there, man. They name no fucking names. That was not the time.
SPEAKER_11They live in Enum Claw.
SPEAKER_07Um Tacoma dudes. Oh, what?
SPEAKER_11Did uh did they live in Enum Claw? I don't know if it's happened. Or did they say this was allegedly? Yeah, did did this.
SPEAKER_07They're Tacoma locals. It was back in the day, dude. It was like they're big brothers, it wasn't them. Anyways.
SPEAKER_11Anyways, the note said, look in the peanut butter. Like uh, you got you got some weed in there. So I look around, my my squad's all in this tent, you know. Yeah, of course. I'm fucking looking around, I I put my put my hand in the peanut butter, and there was like a it was either an eighth or a quarter. I think it was I think it was an eighth.
SPEAKER_12And uh that's fucking that that's dope right there, dude.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, that was what year was this again? 2004. 2004.
SPEAKER_12Dude, like and so uh Were you the only one you think?
SPEAKER_11Uh no, no, there there's a couple other dudes. Uh one of my buddies, Chris Chris Olson. Where is he from? Chris is from From Lacey, Washington. Okay. Tim Timber Timberline High School grad. Okay, so he had the shout out to that. Yeah, and uh he he was uh he was uh he was our medic and uh you know Chris uh Chris liked to smoke and and so uh I I immediately ran over to Chris's tent and I was like, hey dude, I got I got something to show you. And he's like, what? And so we go outside, show it to him, we giggle like little girls and dance around and laugh, and then next thing you know, we uh pound like a fucking energy drink, make a pipe out of it. And then and then you go to the fucking shitters, which is just a outhouse plastic outhouse solo or together. Solo. Well, because that's all crazy. Well, you know, like there is just a fucking lion of outhouses. So so like literally like at Camp Earth John, that was like the main concentration center where like troops would come in. Camp and uh like where all the convoys started and all that shit, you know, and so it was just constant movement. It was a big base back in the day.
SPEAKER_07Are they you think are they active right now, huh? That base is on a high alert right now.
SPEAKER_11Uh air oh yeah, yeah, uh Ali Osaleen, uh the airbase in the city. What movie is that from again? Got hit with a couple of Iranian rockets. What, Asalama Lakum?
SPEAKER_07Remember that? I know what it means, but I'm saying that's from a movie though. It was Hasalamalakum, motherfucker. Then he shoots the dude in his fucking head. I know it wasn't menace to society, it wasn't like that. It was like a fucking what movie was that? Let's not worry about that.
SPEAKER_11It's not drawing I am drawing a blank.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_12Uh top five.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, go back to the book. We have some good stories in the desert here that you know were you did you know Packy back? I know you knew Packy, but did you guys see each other over there? Were you guys part of the same shit? Or okay, no, not at all.
SPEAKER_11Packy was there for the push into Iraq.
SPEAKER_07Um Damn, dude. Okay, was that a little more intense, maybe? Yeah. Or no.
SPEAKER_11I I mean everybody's everyone's ever everyone's is situation's different. Totally, yeah. And uh it's literally just the luck of the draw where you go. Um you have absolutely no no say so. You know, you got you got the powers at B, the big dogs up top making the making those decisions
Draft Talk And Raising Kids Today
SPEAKER_11for you.
SPEAKER_07What do you think about the like the potential new draft laws and all that and stuff? Seeing there's oh, me and you both have boys and stuff right now, and and both have kids. Well, um I I I I remember back to talk about this.
SPEAKER_11Oh, no, no, not at all. Like I I don't mind talking about it. Back in the day, I remember when I turned 18, I got something in the mail saying you gotta uh go to you know sign up for the draft. But there was no draft since uh the seventies, since Vietnam. Yeah. And uh I also remember reading something because I was a senior in high school when this happened, and I also remember saying something that uh, hey, if you if you want federal federal money, federal grants for college, uh you got to sign up. And so I was like, it was just a little fucking three by five card. I just marked a box and uh sent it back in.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, like you were like down. So so so like you ain't never scared. You ain't never scared. You ain't never scared. I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_11Uh I would say like it it hasn't really changed. It's just I I I guess more people are paying attention to it. Because ever since I can remember, that's something that you always had to do.
SPEAKER_07Or mean the I mean that got taken out for a while though, you know what I'm saying? Like the draft shit.
SPEAKER_11Oh, well that we haven't had it we haven't had a have to worry about it.
SPEAKER_07Okay, yeah, yeah, an actual draft.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, like right now we have an all volunteer force. But then there was the Gulf War. We have an all-volunteer force.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, right, right, right. So that's what I'm saying. Like, we never so Donald Trump is the first person to try to bring that shit back since we've been alive.
SPEAKER_11No, I think he's just talking about it more.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean, that's what I'm saying, but he's talking about it, but I'm saying that no one else has talked about it the way he has.
SPEAKER_11No, and he's uh he's a fucking wild card. Who knows what it goes through his head.
SPEAKER_07I've always been called a wild card too, you know what I'm saying? I always wondered what Steve Okimoto, my he was my manager at Ebbett's Field, you know, he's like, you're a wild card there, Andy. I go, well, don't be such a bitch then. Don't treat people fucking differently just because you're the manager. Like, you know, I know you gotta manage the fucking place, but don't fucking play favorites. Fucking let the hard work speak for itself and stop being like that. Steve, shout out to you though, if you're listening. Hey, Steve Okimoto. He's in some kind of band. I forgot what kind of band he's in, some fucking old fucking cover band. Goes and plays around and shit like that.
SPEAKER_11That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_07I think they're live right now. You should call him and see if he silences ring or who.
SPEAKER_11That's uh Casey Harkins. Shout out to Casey Harkins.
SPEAKER_07Should we call him, call in?
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Do a call in?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I'll call him right now. No, I I Oh, you can call him.
SPEAKER_07He'd have to call I'd have to call him or he'd have to call him in.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, go ahead and call him.

Calling Casey Harkins Mid Show
SPEAKER_07Um, and uh we're gonna call in to a buddy of ours right now and see if he answers. And if he is, he'll be a part of the podcast of this gentleman right here. He comes from a I mean extensive Tacoma family. A long line of Tacoma. Exactly, dude. And that is that's that's the Harkins, you know what I mean? And a big shout out to the fucking Harkins, you know what I'm saying? T Blesh Alright guys, we're gonna call my friend now, Casey Harkins. Where are you at?
SPEAKER_11Alright, let's see if he picks up.

SPEAKER_11He's probably uh sitting in line waiting to pick his kids up from school.
SPEAKER_07Well then he fucking Oh, here we go. Dude, it's actually ringing, baby. We ringing. Does he know we're live?
SPEAKER_11I just texted him, said uh you're calling him.
SPEAKER_07So he probably's not gonna answer. I guarantee it.
SPEAKER_08What up, ah?
SPEAKER_07Oh my god, folks, I just said uh he's probably not gonna answer, and he is. From Sixth Avenue here in Tacoma, where I can't see a cloud in the sky. Can you see a cloud where you're at right now?
SPEAKER_08You know, I I can see a couple. Am I on the record?
SPEAKER_07You're on record right now, live on Like or Not Podcast. Don't worry. You're allegedly live, and we might not even drop this, but we're 28 minutes in and we're calling you up to see how you're doing, bro. We're we we talked about fucking the playoff game a little bit. Actually, we didn't get into the playoff game yet.

SPEAKER_07Are you uh you're at pizza time? Yeah, we're live doing the cast right now, literally, bro. Like together.
SPEAKER_08Oh man. I got I got you guys should break free and hit come out to Sarah and watch uh vitamin R come come splam through the air.
SPEAKER_11Dude, vitamin R is last. Let's let's talk about vitamin R. Dude, I got asked Casey. Can you tell us the history of vitamin R, please?
SPEAKER_07But before you do that, let me just say that I got asked to play for the dingers last week. Ooh, what'd you say? I said I can't fucking make it. I'll probably pull a muscle, a fucking, I'll get a game tussle. I'll get a little what are they calling? A little scrum? I'll get in a little scrum.
SPEAKER_11Yep, somebody's gonna throw a high heater slow pitch fastball at your body.
SPEAKER_07So I declined, but the dingers, aren't they like league champs, just like you guys? How you can interchange, like you guys change off and on.
SPEAKER_08No, I mean, vitamin R. I think we have maybe maybe two or three chips in the last 40 years. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hell yeah, bro.
SPEAKER_07Dude, I remember playing for the vitamin R for one one game. I played for vitamin R, dude.
SPEAKER_09You got invited for the V.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I played first base, dude. Big scoop out there. I fucking bruised my shin for life. Yeah, that's um and uh big scoop dominated. We were down 26 to 18 in the last inning. And Danny Harkins, fucking Casey's cousin, I told hey, we we talked about the Harkins before we had the call made. Uh roped a fucking double down the third baseline. We fucking won the game on a Scott Hip ahead first slide. Oh.
SPEAKER_11There we go.
SPEAKER_07And it was fucking awesome. He didn't need to slide, but he just did it because we won the game on a big comeback.
SPEAKER_11How many raspberries do you think he got?
SPEAKER_07Oh, bro. You know what? Enough, but the it's not enough, it's not worse than the bruise I still have.
SPEAKER_08From 2002.
SPEAKER_07From fucking 2022.
SPEAKER_08Danny won that game going right over the uh three bag.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it was awesome, dude. It was uh afterwards and went to like loose wheel or no, something like that, but it was just fucking good times. Softball memories, dude, are some of the best memories of my life. My mom and dad, my fucking buddies. Uh yeah, dude. Sea heark, we're live right now. It's it's it's a live building, dude. It's a live little building over here.
SPEAKER_12People are in here.
SPEAKER_07You know, um, but anyways, man, it's nice to have you on, dude. What do you think about these playing games? Or no, go ahead, Casey. Or go ahead.
SPEAKER_08Oh, man. Hey, Casey, Casey. Orlando Magic. Walk out, guys. That's the team.
SPEAKER_07I'm a big fan of Orlando. I know they have one more chance, right?
SPEAKER_08Are they in the plan?
SPEAKER_07They just lost to Philly last night, so I don't know if they're out or if they have one more chance. I think they might be out, though, brother.
SPEAKER_08Oh, now the plan is different.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, dude. Um, tonight, or no, there's games tomorrow. Charlotte. I actually I think Charlotte and Orlando play tomorrow. Charlotte and Orlando play tomorrow in the loser out game for that eighth seed.
SPEAKER_08Wow.
SPEAKER_07So um anyways, we're the state of the NBA, the state of the fucking uh union. Uh oh man, the above.
SPEAKER_08You know, I kind of envisioned my initial appearance on like it or not, a little different. This is DJ Easy Dick coming at you live.
SPEAKER_07DJ Easy. Easy dick. And we're coming live from the dog. No, dude, we I should play that right now so people know what we're talking about. But look at this is Casey Harkinson. We this is one of our good buddies here. I'm doing an episode where it's like uh unknown Tacoma locals, where it's like people you should get to know, people you might not want to get to know.
SPEAKER_11Hey, so since we have Casey on the phone, let's talk about our uh Seahawk uh 49ers game.
SPEAKER_07Well, what
Seahawks Blowout And Softball Memories
SPEAKER_07we were gonna talk about was let's start off material. I'll say something right here that Charlie wasn't buying beers at the game, which was weird to me. Uh Francis lost his way to the seat initially, and he had to like fucking talk to the Usher, and then he couldn't get a hold of us for like about seven, eight minutes, but he lived on. And we I thought I was in a fall down a few times.
SPEAKER_08And the Hawks won 44 to 6.
SPEAKER_07And the Hawks and Rashid started off the game off with a banger. That was such a fun game, but you know what I was pissed about? We talked about it after the game, Casey, is we did not go and fucking celebrate properly.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I know, buddy. It was unfortunate. Hey, let me ask you this. What kind of sponsors do you like it or not have? I just drove by Molly May. And I would like to just, you know, throw it out to the people that are listening. How many viewers do we have right now?
SPEAKER_07Oh, we're not live like that, dude. We're just like fucking live. Like we Bluetooth yin, you know what I'm saying? There, what'd you talk about, Molly? Who?
SPEAKER_08Molly Maze. Um the Molly May Foundation. We need we need some sponsors on this on this podcast.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Molly Mays, if you want to step in, holler at your boys, let us know.
SPEAKER_08I love it. Love it.
SPEAKER_07Dude, Sea York, are you on the road right now, bro, or what? Yeah, man, I'm heading to go pick up my kid. Oh, we just talked. Oh, yeah, we just, you're right. We just we talked about that. Uh, we were just gonna talk about the draft, but then we decided we're not gonna talk about that because you know we we all have kids, and I'm not gonna let my son go to the draft, but if he wants to, he can.
SPEAKER_08It's three o'clock on the dot. I'm in my drop.
SPEAKER_07I'm talking about the NFL draft, too. That's what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_11No, can can we get Casey sing it?
SPEAKER_072039. Casey, no, it's 7 o'clock.
SPEAKER_11Sing us your favorite song. What do you guys want? Sing us your favorite song right now.
SPEAKER_08Oh man, you know my favorite. You gotta go with juicy, baby. It was all a dream. I used to read Word Up magazine. Salt and pepper and heavy tea up and sea. All right, let's go. Hey, Glenn, like three pizza. All the back.

SPEAKER_11Yep. Come on, Andy. The Mountain High Burger.
SPEAKER_07Burger Express, dude. Where is that located at exactly?
SPEAKER_11It's on Pac Pac Highway. It's like uh South, it's in between 356th and 320th.
SPEAKER_07It's out there. We're in the 206th. I don't move around there that often. I don't want to move around there that often uh don't I don't know what to say.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_07It is delicious. Uh what about in and out or out and about burgers out in Pewlop? Anyone been there yet?
SPEAKER_11I have not. I worked down in Piallop too. Where is it?
SPEAKER_07There's two locations, but Out and About has basically they got like fucking like a cease and desist from In N Out for a couple reasons, but they have it's it's I heard it's really good. I'd never been there yet. Philly and Smash and Fife. I don't want to go to Fife, but I'm gonna have to because you know that not only there's a Pick Quick there, but there's fucking Philly and Smash, and they have you know, Pick Quick is an underrated burger.
SPEAKER_11They make a good burger, Pick Quick.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Pickwick is fucking amazing. Chat to Pickwick real quick. Hey, guys. Um also fucking Casey, dude. C Hart, dude. This is great, man. Um you're a fucking vandal, or aren't you? And are you a coup or you an Idaho Vandal? In the beginning. Eastern wide e-woo, that's right.
SPEAKER_08You just yeah, no, I went I went to Idaho and then I I graduated though from Ewoo. But while I was growing up on the Palooth, my my dad, he worked at Wazoo, so I became a huge coup fan growing up.
SPEAKER_07Um Mike Price days, the Mike Price days, dude, right? Ryan Lee.
SPEAKER_08Mark Ripon, Tim Rose. Tim Rosen, yeah, Rosenbach. Yeah. Um didn't he win at Rosewolf? Man, that guy could hit so hard.
SPEAKER_07I mean, is pipeline pizza still like one of your favorites? Will you take that back? Like I take Frisco Freeze and I say it's number one, is Pipeline like that spot.
SPEAKER_11No, because Casey worked at Pizza Hut back in the day. In Moscow.
SPEAKER_08Pizza Hut was cool. Um I uh yeah, I was a pizza pipeline guy. Uh uh.
SPEAKER_11Oh, pizza perfection. I forgot about it.
SPEAKER_08Pizza Perfection is kind of the jam on the Paloo.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, Pizza Perfection.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, man. Okay. I never heard about that place. It must be fairly new. So shout out to Craig, shout out to Craig Baumgartner, though, and uh, and Pullman, Washington in general. Dude, what's the name of that field house, bro? That big ass field house with all the hoop cords, Casey, on the court on the campus of WSU.
SPEAKER_11It's the rec center.
SPEAKER_07Oh, I went to like three basketball camps and I was like 12, 13, and 14 years old, and it was like some of the most dopest, like the WC basketball. Remember when Coach Kevin Eastman was the coach there? Nope. And then he ended up going for the Celtics? Now he's an assistant for the Celtics when they won the titles and shit. I bought his book, man. That was like some of the most pivotal moments of my hoop life, dude. And so I have a lot of love for Pullman. They brought me and Chris to and Scott to Las Vegas.
unknownThree.
SPEAKER_08Cougar cage cam.
SPEAKER_07The Cougar Cage Camp, dude. Fuck yeah, Casey. Hell yeah, bro. I was showing cats in West Seattle Mob D back in the day, dude, and like all the main crops. That was great.
SPEAKER_11Hey, Chark. Tell us uh tell us a uh the story uh between you and uh your arch rival from Pullman High School, who is now the D Corps.
SPEAKER_08Oh man, Trent Bray. So Trent Bray, he was the head coach at Oregon State. Um he was the middle linebacker at Pullman, which was the Moscow rival. Uh just right across the uh the state line. Moscow Pullman. Of course. And uh, yeah. Yeah, he's done he's done really well, man. He's he's got some good pedigrees, man. I think he made it into the league as a coach. But then Trent, he just finished up at uh Oregon State with what, like a two and two and nine record. Now he's the DC at uh Wall Zoo.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, go go.
SPEAKER_08Goku. Hey guys, I got Yeah, dude.
SPEAKER_07CR, thanks for tapping in with us, dude. Thanks for answering the call. That was fucking awesome.

SPEAKER_08And then I would probably go with uh another big man, and let's go with let's go with somebody new. Let's go with Wamby. Damn, dude.
SPEAKER_07I mean, who's doing a futuristic a futuristic traveler?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah. Hey, what college does Keith Scheffler go to? Hey, Iowa. I'll pee.
SPEAKER_07All right, Seaark. Hey, so uh what college did fucking you were close, same colors. Same colors, same colors, same colors, same colors. Come on, dude.
SPEAKER_11It's not Iowa.
SPEAKER_07So the same kind of colors. So yeah. Let's fucking go.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Let's go, Frank, get put on the fucking spot. Trivia.
SPEAKER_11The best bench warmer in Sonic's history, right there. Steve Shaffler.
SPEAKER_07I mean, dude, you know who reminds me of? He was Big Ten player of the year. He reminds me of David Chara. Yes, he was. He was from the Gene Cady days. Like they have, you know, Purdue's crazy ass coach. Well, not crazy. I would say most of these B1 coaches are crazy because they're crazy about winning.
SPEAKER_11You know what? We should try to do a hit through uh your bro. We should try uh getting scalabrini, dude. The Enum Claw.
SPEAKER_07I mean, dude, yeah. I mean, B Scal, dude. I mean, dude, he used to be over there shooting hoops all alone at the park, the only park in Enum Claw.
SPEAKER_11Oh yeah, man. Like, like I mean, uh, some of the stuff like I've seen, like, is a little like people call him out, and then he goes and like meets up, and then he just kicks the shit out of him, playing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dude, it's so rad. And it's it's like he's like, yeah, I was probably the shittiest player in the NBA when I played, but I am way fucking better at the end of the day.
SPEAKER_07Well, no, he's not because he has one of the fucking craziest nicknames in NBA history, like the White Mama. The White Mama. Which isn't owed to Brandon. I just it's he has a lot of skill.
SPEAKER_09Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_07He's a very skilled player.
SPEAKER_12Uh smart and skilled. Um great.
SPEAKER_11University of Southern Cal Great right there. That's true. 100%. Shout out to Scalabrini.
SPEAKER_07Dude, shout out to Royal Tree Gardens who unofficially sponsored this podcast. Speaking of sponsors, I don't know. Uh Casey's talking about Molly May, he's fucking hilarious, dude, with the cleaning service, but I mean, shout out to them. But uh also Royal Tree Gardens. They unofficially sponsored a podcast with some fucking hand-rolled joints from fucking a dude that looks like Rick Rubin. Just like sits in the fucking back and like just doesn't really talk to many people. He orders like Uber Eats food, they silently bring it to him, and he just rolls up fucking hand rolled joints all day long.
SPEAKER_11Allegedly, that that was that was a story I was told.
SPEAKER_07Allegedly, yeah.
SPEAKER_11That was the story I was told.
SPEAKER_07Um dude, Frank, let's talk about fucking that uh some more shit here, man. Hold on. We're 40 minutes in. Um, this is just a fun episode, guys. Again, I hope you guys are having fun with this. It's just raunchy fucking unedited fucking jabber, jibberin, jabbering. We're just shooting the shit. Um, but talk about real quick, because you know, Frank is from Tanaino. Oh, here we go.
SPEAKER_12That's right, two things, two things that but real quick though, Francis, you know, he went to Bellarmin, so he's Tacoma for sure.
SPEAKER_07He's a Tactown motherfucker now. He's classing, we're we're old cats, we're classing 90 years. We're not old, bro. It's old in our head, whatever, we're not old. But uh, you know, being from Tenino, we'll talk about that, bro, and talk about what you were
Tenino Trivia And Small Town Pride
SPEAKER_07gonna tell. You educated me earlier.
SPEAKER_09Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_11Nice little here's uh some two things that Tinaino and Tacoma have in common. Uh the first one is that they both start with uh letter T. And the second thing is Which is the most important one they both at one point in time were the end of the railroad. Before uh the railroad came up to the city of Destiny, it uh stopped in Tenino. Like that was the last stop. They had to stop construction, you know, and then uh when spring rolled around, they started from Tenino and and boom, there you go. You know when that was? I want to say like uh 1872?
SPEAKER_07I mean, swear to fucking god, I was gonna just guess and throw out like the 1860s, bro.
SPEAKER_11Like if uh if uh it was pretty cool, uh old Tenino friend of mine. Wayne Fournier. Shout out to Commissioner Fournier.
SPEAKER_12Okay, okay. Thurston County Commissioner, former Mayor.
SPEAKER_07They lead the state in STDs. You know what I mean? Jet in the house.
SPEAKER_12Let's go.
SPEAKER_07I'm just joking, but that's just it's what it is.
SPEAKER_11Oh, yeah. Former Mayor. I got a couple blow jobs down there, the Centrillia.
SPEAKER_07Centrillion tiger.
SPEAKER_11That's where the Vanders and the Hippas met.
SPEAKER_07That's right. And dude, that actually was pretty sick, bro, because Chris would actually throw a Vander. Like they just had so much good chemistry. Like the backdoor alley oops were like fucking crowd, they would just spark the crowd in like a fucking frenzy, bro. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_11It was fun to watch back in the day. Dude, no doubt. They were uh what two years older than us?
SPEAKER_10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Because we're 96, 98, yeah, yeah. That's exactly what it is.
SPEAKER_11And so, yeah, I remember going down there. Um before we we were really friends or whatever, we probably ran ran across paths down in Centralia. Well, I mean seniors.
SPEAKER_07Dude, like I've heard about your older brother before I knew you.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Just from like, because I mean, like, I knew Stephen English, he was his girlfriend was Audie English. That was like Mike Miller era, like, kind of that's when your brother went to school there, right? Yep. Like 94 is 92.
SPEAKER_11Kurt Schmidt was the point guard, maybe. That's when he graduated, it was in '94. He was a bench warmer, he was a bench warmer on uh on the hoop team. On the hoop team, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Dude, he played with Mike Miller Guadnol on them. Yeah, yeah, right? Yeah, and Damon. So I think he would Damani Leach, bro. Hey, let's go, man. I mean, it's the old narrows league, bro. That that was some real shit. You know, dude.
SPEAKER_11Did you know Damony is the president of uh the Denver Broncos?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, he's he's he's he's the one.
SPEAKER_07Wait a minute. Is that new shit or what? Hey, uh do you need another beer, dude?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah. Hey, Travis.
SPEAKER_07Hey, Mr. Nelson! Hold on here. Here we go. Mr. Mr. Nelson! Travis!
SPEAKER_11No, he didn't.
SPEAKER_07He don't even see us, dude. He's the barter. He's having a good day today. He doesn't usually work Thursdays. Um but uh Damani Leach, though, he's an old, he's I mean, I used to see Damony Leach working his fucking ass off on the for the on the hoop court at Pearl Street Y back in the day.
SPEAKER_11So Damon Damon's a Tacoma legend that doesn't get much love, man. Because uh he was a stud athlete. Super, super smart.
SPEAKER_07Um where'd he go to college again? Didn't he go to the Ireland?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, he went to the fucking A, dude. He went to Princeton. Um and uh when he was at Princeton, like he's uh he's buddies with my older brother. And uh and so when he went to Princeton, he ended up uh during the offseason.
unknownYes, sir.
SPEAKER_07Another corona real quick and uh Yeah, come on, man. Get him on. Uh okay, no hold
Tacoma Legends And Damani Leach’s Rise
SPEAKER_07on. Where were we? We were just talking about Damony Leach president of the fucking Broncos, dude? Are you come on now? Are you dead serious?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, look it up right now. Damani Leach, president of the right. I mean, not that I I mean I think he's not he's not part of the the the football operation side, he's part of the business side. So is there one president of the Broncos? Well, uh yeah, I think there's one. I think I I don't know how the hierarchy is.
SPEAKER_07How did I not know that Damani Leach is the president of the Denver Broncos and uh Tacoma? Is he Lakewood or Tacoma? Uh no Bellerman.
SPEAKER_11I believe Tacoma.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_11I I think he still has the most uh uh interceptions in uh or tied for most interceptions in a season with uh Dean Kane. Remember Dean Cain, Superman? Lois and Clark?
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Yeah like the original Superman?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, like that TV series? Dean Kane, yeah. He he played like safety for some other uh maybe Princeton, I don't know. But Damani tied his record as uh for most interceptions in a single season. Anyways, from there he ended up uh interning with uh like the NCA during the summers in between uh uh kept on going up as shit. And then um graduated from Princeton, started working for the NCA, worked his way up to like uh uh I believe being in charge of all the championship series, championship games, so across the NCA, like you know, football, basketball, baseball, women's, men's, soccer, whatever it is. So he was in charge of uh all that, and then uh he ended up working for the NFL uh in New York, and then uh when he got called me in covering.
SPEAKER_01I'm done now.
SPEAKER_07Oh, we already podcast with you earlier. We we thank you. Oh, that's yeah, dude. He brought me a rainer, thanks, man.
SPEAKER_11I and then yeah, and then uh apparently when he was uh still still working for uh the NFL, he got a phone call out of the blue um from uh who is it, the Waltons who bought the Broncos?
SPEAKER_06Fuck, man.
SPEAKER_11I have no idea. Brought him out for an interview, they liked him and gave him an offer, and so now he's uh president of the Broncos.
SPEAKER_07Dude, that's fucking awesome, man. That that that that is that's kind of mind-blowing. I remember going to the fucking Bellerman and Federal Way fucking playoff or state game back in that was like 9 a.m. game. Oh, yeah. Like 93, 94.
SPEAKER_11Was that when uh who's not? Mike Dickerson. Mike Dickerson, yeah.
SPEAKER_07And he fucking got a jump or somebody tapped the ball to him on a jump ball. He came down at 9 o'clock in the first game of the and the Coliseum, right? This is not the Kierina, this is the Coliseum, right? In 93?
SPEAKER_11Was it oh, it was 93-94, bro?
SPEAKER_07This is the fucking Coliseum, I think, dude.
SPEAKER_11Uh I'm I'm thinking of another game in the Tacoma Dome.
SPEAKER_07Okay, well, hold on. So in this particular game, Bellerman Federale. Yeah, Mike Dickerson gets the tip at 9 a.m. and does a 360 on the first play. Yeah. You're going to the league. You're going to the NBA, you're, you know. Uh but that was against Bellerman, though. I think Bellerman actually beat Fedreway, though. Actually, I don't know if they did, but.
SPEAKER_11Who was that? Who was that other hooper that went to Decatur? Quincy Wilder? Quincy Wilder.
SPEAKER_07Roberto Burgerson?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, that was a good team back in the day.
SPEAKER_07Dude, I mean, well, they dude, that dude fucking well, Quincy uh shut he ended Chris's high school career at Auburn High School, first round of the West Central District fucking tournament in 1996. Chris was all state, MP of the Narrows League, bro. He used to kill people. Quincy vo but you know what sucks though is Quincy had four fouls going into the fourth quarter. He caught an Al Yup in the fourth quarter and dunked on someone, and it should have been a fucking charge. And instead they called a block, and the fucking momentum shifted quickly, bro. And I was uh on the bench, bro. I was I know, I mean, I was on the behind the bench. I was like, for the last ten games of the year, I got caught up to go two and two or three and one or whatever the fuck sometimes. And we were 10-0. And I was on the bench like being a fucking fan. I was bringing up the morale, everyone sitting on the bench, his buckles. I was like, let's go, yeah, let's let's go. Like, what the fuck? We just let's go. Let's let's g let's go. Bro, for the fucking practice, like me and Duffy were like the quincy, we I didn't make the I was 13th man. So a sophomore year, I'm fucking 13th man, dude. That's that fucking fucked me up a little bit, bro.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_07Being 13th man and not being able to go, but we were 10 0. You're you take Dave Pray there because he's six fucking seven, but you don't take me who you can put me in the fucking game, and I'm gonna fucking hit some threes. I'm gonna fucking stretch the fucking zone.
SPEAKER_11You know what, Andy? You kind of sound like a Rico hit. Well, I know, hold on.
SPEAKER_07And so, anyways, what I saw was Quincy Wilder, who was that was the fucking main pump point. It was him, dude, just D Chris the fuck up, bro. And Chris had like 10 or 11 points only, and the stadium ended up having a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter. And after that, Al Yupin with like seven minutes left, they just went on the craziest run. And then they went on the craziest run almost in state history when they went and played fucking face Seahome in the state title. And we all know about how good Seahome was in '98.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_0728, 29 and oh. They played together since they were in fucking second grade, third grade, every fucking year.
SPEAKER_11See, that that's what I don't understand why. I love that. Why these small town uh like high schools, like I'll take Tenano, for example, you got the same population, like if you get like elementary school kids, you know, fourth, third, fourth, fifth graders that are playing on the club teams, make them run the same place as you're running in the middle school. Or something like it uh are running the same place as the high school. Dude, that's how it grows. That's how you build a dynasty. Dude, Frank in one of those small towns.
SPEAKER_07Man, and and and and let's get into it though.
SPEAKER_11Everybody uh aboard though.
SPEAKER_07Let's get into it, and let's, you know, like let's talk about, and I'm not saying you know like as much as I do about the basketball, but back in the day you already it's kind of not rocket science to know there wasn't seven all-star teams from Washington State or ten select teams or twenty. There was only like fucking two.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, and it was like literally it was hard, it was the best of the best.
SPEAKER_07Like, you mean you know BCI, Basketball Congress International. It was like this fight, anyways, and uh, dude, it's not the same, dude. Like the the the there's a lot of good players and they're still competitive and all that. It's just a different time, and you know, so you have to be able to fucking uh adapt, right?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, uh sometimes though, uh I don't think it's good just to focus on one sport when you're growing up because there's so much uh stuff you can learn. So like like let's say you will people do basketball. Like let's say basketball's your favorite sport. Well, okay, what what do you gotta do about that? Basketball is my favorite sport. Uh footwork, you know? Footwork. People don't talk about footwork.
SPEAKER_07Hey. Come on, you don't even know his pops, though. You don't know nothing about Rod McMahon.
SPEAKER_05I know he was very mad at all.
SPEAKER_07You didn't see it in real time though.
SPEAKER_05I see it.
SPEAKER_07Man, I'm over here having a side convo. Hey, part two? Hey, we got a third mic. Wait, man, I was saying Frank Mare, my bad. Where the fuck were we at there? LeBron hating again. My top five, real quick. Where are we? Oh, yeah, get back to the back. But where were we at, real quick? That's why we like it or not, Spread. They're like, oh my god, fuck, talk about where we didn't talk about. There's someone out there listening going, you finished up on that. Um, I don't think it was that serious. Jubilee sucks fucking. They all fucking suck, dude. All these burger, I'm just joking, guys. Jubilee, I love it. Are they even alive still? Or is it the other one?
SPEAKER_11I've been I haven't been, dude. I haven't been able to do that.
SPEAKER_07There was Jubilee and there was no, that's not east side, that's South 38th.
SPEAKER_11Jubilee? No. What's that burger place right across from Lincoln?
SPEAKER_07That's e that's not the Eastside, that's South End.
SPEAKER_11That's South. Well, I thought everything uh across the freeway is east side.
SPEAKER_07The next time that's he says just because you're from Tina.
SPEAKER_11Exactly.
SPEAKER_07No, but look, um, seriously, um top five.
SPEAKER_11No, so let's get back to this. Like uh, so any this is this is how like Southside is like the freeway uh on the west. So like Mount Tahama area.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, but Lincoln's on Lincoln's on South 30, you know, fourth. Yeah, but it's separated by the freeway.
SPEAKER_11Oh Andy has a little selfie going on.
SPEAKER_07No, that's Fry's in the house, man. Where are they? Oh Yo, Curly Fry's on fucking uh doing an Uber East delivery real quick, you know. Yo, straight up, brother. Good to see you, man. Dude, that's awesome, bro. Uh my nephew Curly, Tiffany's uh son. Oh, okay. Tiffany Lucy's son. You know what I mean? My fucking nephew, dude. Literally fucking FaceTime with him just now. You know what I mean? That's fucking great. Uh we have some all-starts in the building, man. Not only Francis Berkford, dude. We got we got fucking Ron McMahon's son in the house. We got T Bleds, we had DJs, we got fucking Paul Kunist, that little fucking sharpshooter from Life Christian back in the day. Old Ukrainian fucking talking out the side of his fucking neck. I'm just fucking joking, dude. Uh um, dude, I'm fucking funny. This is 56 minutes in, dude. We're I'm having a blast right now. What a what uh we're top five real fast. Fuck, Frank. Two shots of whiskey that's gonna do me dirty like that. I'm gonna have to go Kobe, Jordan, LeBron, Kareem, and fucking Shaq. But how you leave Bill Russell out?
SPEAKER_11Dude, it's tough. That's why you only have top five. That's why you have top five.
SPEAKER_07No, how about a top ten, so you have a five top five games?
SPEAKER_11How about how about we split it in the middle and do seven? So you can have two more.
SPEAKER_07Okay, so then like Shaq and fucking uh you know, I like how you put Tim Duncan in there because if you look at the stabo, wow, what why does Hakeem Elijuan get left out a lot? Hakeem the dream? Hakeem, Hakeem.
SPEAKER_11He was Hakeem until Well, it was kind of if you remember back in that day, you got you had Hakeem, you had Ewing, you had David Robinson, the Admiral. Let's go. Come on, Frank.
SPEAKER_07Let's go, Doug. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_11Those those were uh those were the the the centers back in the day, and then you know, uh Shaq came along. And then it was just unfair just fucking punked those guys. It was so unfair, bro. Uh and then Tim Duncan also came along maybe a year or two after Shaq and was just like Mr. Fundamental. Just uh the swimmer from the Caribbean.
SPEAKER_07No, dude, you see how I turned that mic down and now we're fucking back in paradise right now? Yeah. With our ears, I had that. We can hear Paul fucking talking to her on the side and shit. That was great.
High School Rivalries And Coaching Trees
SPEAKER_07Man, Frank, what do you remember most about fucking Bellermann and what do you what do you do? Do you um was that like a time in your life? Because I remember playing against Bellerman, dude, and like uh I mean I a lot of my fucking favorite time my favorite games were at fucking Bellerman, dude. I love that court. I missed the upper court, dude.
SPEAKER_11Well, I I wasn't hooper. I didn't I didn't like basketball.
SPEAKER_07Well, do you go into the games though and talk shit? You heckled.
SPEAKER_11Oh yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_07Um how much could you guys heckle back then?
SPEAKER_11Oh, all the time. Well, all the time, dude. Like I remember how we'd shut the other schools up, you know, when the chanting back and forth, all we had to do was say like something like uh we love Jesus, yes we do, we love Jesus, how about you? And then the public schools would just shut up. Like at Stadion or Wilson. And then uh Go ahead. And then uh, but I just remember whenever uh B prep lost, oh dude, fucking Hackle City, dude. Yeah, when you knew you guys were gonna lose, it's just what it is. You just had to take it on the chin.
SPEAKER_07You guys didn't sit behind the bench. The parents sat behind the Bellarman bench.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, we said you guys sat across the court. We had to sit on the opposite side of the court.
SPEAKER_07So look, I'm in the fucking corner. Like the Bellarin bench is where my butt's at.
SPEAKER_11Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_07Jay Swilly's guarding me.
SPEAKER_11Swilled on the ball. Senior year. Swilly.
SPEAKER_07Shout out to fucking Jay Swilly, bro. How you doing, buddy? That's a fucking real one right there, bro. Oh, come on, man.
SPEAKER_11Bronco, great.
SPEAKER_07Like, I did I I I I'm gonna talk tell you right now.
SPEAKER_11Here's a here's a quickest move I made though. Go ahead. So uh as freshman at Wazoo, Swilly was a freshman at Boise State. Yeah. Uh Boise State came to Pullman for Googs. Let's go. And uh the night before, I'm fucking over at the Palouse Mall. We're uh in the little CD store, and uh all the opposing teams would always stay over Moscow when they played in Pullman. And so uh uh the Boise State Broncos were over at the Palouse Mall at the same time, and I ran randomly ran into uh Swilly and uh in the fucking CD store, and it was fun. Dapped each other up, gave each other a hug, and uh wished him luck the next day.
SPEAKER_07Dude, that's fucking awesome.
SPEAKER_11Even though I was rooting for the coops.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean, of course you were at the you were a fucking coop.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, but I still want to see Jay fucking do what.
SPEAKER_07Do you think that Jay got recruited by WSU back then, or did they not need him, or did he want to go to Boyd State, or what happened?
SPEAKER_11You know, I know anything about that? I don't know. I I do know uh on our football team that year, you there was like 13 seniors. There was a lot of fucking room for nothing. Eleven of them, eleven of us or ten, uh ended up playing collegially somewhere. Uh you mean in high school, you mean? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07So there was yeah, yeah, it was fucking stacked. Come on, bro. I could start talking about your guys' football team right now, 98. All right, the stadium's always been terrible, but um I played for the liquid lumberjacks with Jay.
SPEAKER_10Nice.
SPEAKER_07I actually played for fucking in eighth, seventh, eighth grade or eighth grade, whatever the fuck it was, bro. I played with Jay. I mean, he was a his dad was a coach, bro. My dad knew Charles' dad. How you doing, brother? My dad knew his dad. So it was like a fucking, it was awesome, you know? Yeah. Like Charles Swilly, bro. Man, I'll tell you what, man. That guy will get the best out of you, man, if you let him. We had this dude named Nick Wells, bro, and he's still around, man. I'm telling you right now, Frank, he's our grade. He's our grade, but the thing about it is Nick Wells, he used to hit people so fucking hard, okay? That by the time he was going to high school, they were like, hey, man, you've been, you've seen us twice now. And we're telling you right now, Nick, you can't play football, dude. The way you play, you're gonna fucking be you're gonna end up being an Inky Johnson. You're gonna end up fucking like that, like 100%, because you have no on or off button, bro. And so he started to go, he he said, and he accepted it. Another fucking family, you know, the my the me and the hippas and the wells family were tight with my parents and then their parents, and you know, if there were softball and fucking life. And then Corey Wells and Chris Wells, and then fucking me and Nick Wells, like with 96, 99 shit, you know. Yep. South end bulls and all this stuff. Um, anyways, and so Nick ended up, dude, playing hoop, playing fucking baseball, playing tennis. He just like played every fucking sport because he was like, man, I can't sit around and think about my fucking football career that should have taken the fuck off. You know what I'm saying? And yeah, then he just it just is like that, bro, and he had to stop playing football. Kind of was a bummer. But he wore knee-high socks, he wore a headband, he had an afro on the on tennis on the tennis court from Ountahoma. So he had fun with it, dude. You know what I mean? Well, it was it was it was cool. Um, but I remember those times, dude. Fucking Bellerman Stadium, dude. I used to love it. The rivals. I I you know what I missed. The Nero's league, Frank. That's so fucking whack that you think. Lincoln, Wilson, Stadium, Bellerman, they don't Foss, they don't play no more together? They don't what? That is terrible, Tacoma. WIA, you should be fucking shamed yourself. You should throw Curtis in there too. Resorting to funding, though, and all that bullshit, man. Yeah, no, all the Tacoma schools. I mean, Curtis stay in the SPSL, I guess, but that'd be sick. Add Curtis in the Tacoma League. That'd be wild, even though they're their West Tacoma. Well, University Place has been around for what, 19 years now their words?
SPEAKER_11No, no, it's not. UP's like 24 years old, bro. Here is something that I learned. Or like 30 years old. Do you know why it's called University Place?
SPEAKER_07Because there's a fucking chamber of weird ass motherfuckers that named with that.
SPEAKER_11No, it's because originally when uh University of Puget Sound came to the area, they bought uh some acreage down where University Place is, and so they they named the area University Place, but I don't know when it got incorporated, but I just know that's how it got.
SPEAKER_07Well, I remember the fur crash or uh University Place. They tried to bring Frisco Freeze out there, so there was a Frisco Freeze, kids were hooping like Tyler Beamis is. Shout out to my fucking dog Tyler Beamis. Let's go. Remember him at all? Curtis guy RH? Yep, yep. Just mean his pops great coach and a great dude, no fucking doubt, but Tyler Beamis, man. You work with my pops for fucking years, dude. Here, here, here's the couple of things.
SPEAKER_11Literally, you know, for the city of fucking Pierce County Road. Brian Jensen, new head coach, going back to his almond model, Curtis.
SPEAKER_07Yo, I mean big that's fucking awesome. That's a good point there, friend. Do you know? David fucking Adams, bro. A coup is now coaching at Curtis, head coach at Curtis right now, too. Uh Curtis Basketball. Nice. Took over Kelly's spot, played for Kelly.
SPEAKER_11Oh, nice, dude.
SPEAKER_07That's awesome. Yeah, fuck yeah.
SPEAKER_11Uh the the new Bellarine coach is uh he was a stadium cat.
SPEAKER_07Bobby Moorhead. Yep, stadium fucking high school, bro.
SPEAKER_11He he went to USC, he was a running back?
SPEAKER_07Not USC. No, I'm you you're talking football.
SPEAKER_11I'm talking football.
SPEAKER_07Okay, I'm talking basketball right now. My bad. Yeah.
SPEAKER_11Football. Uh it was uh dude grew up in California, played for Pete Carroll.
SPEAKER_07Damn, he's coaching fucking Bellerman now? Yeah, he's coaching Bell Carroll. I hope so. Why doesn't Aaron Maul ever get a fucking shot?
SPEAKER_11Because uh he lives in Snohomish.
SPEAKER_07He changed his life. I mean, not changed his life, but he moved out of the moved a while ago.
SPEAKER_11No, no, he like he's always lived in Snohomish. Like his wife. Well, since college, I guess. Yeah. And when he was uh teaching down at Bellerman and coaching at Bellerman, it was just a lot of people.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, he started out. That's where he started at, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_11It was just really long days. I mean, think about it. Like hop in the car and drive up to Snohomish right now. Or you know, it's just sound like it was north of Seattle squeeze.
SPEAKER_07But so did he not get the shot at Bellerman that he would have got at Seattle Prep? Obviously, it doesn't sound like it.
SPEAKER_11No, no. He uh he wanted to uh be closer to home. I mean he he has three kids.
SPEAKER_07His wife has a job up there, they all live up there centrally located in Seattle. He's done so much with Seattle Prep, bro. It's so fucking sick. I've known AP, bro, since back in the Red Robin days, dude. Like fucking 89. Yeah. My dad knew his dad, and then obviously me and Shane and you were all 98. Shout out to fucking Shane and AP in the halls. Dude, seriously though, man. Me and Slim are supposed to connect, dude. Like, honestly, he hit me up. He was like, Yo, what up, hip? I see you doing your fucking food shit. He's like, let's fucking link up. I work, he works for some food company or some fucking Cisco or one of those, not Cisco, but whatever the fuck it is. He's like, let's go get it some lunch. I'm like, you know what? Me and Shane are fucking funny though. We got so much respect for each other, but you know, like we got our lives and you got kids and families and Shit, dude, and so we just haven't found the time.
SPEAKER_11I fuck with Shane Heavy though, bro. An AP man, real one. Let's go. So Slim's son, shout out to Mason. Mason Maul.
SPEAKER_07Dude, where's he at now?
SPEAKER_11He's he's uh going to Curtis next year. That's what I'm saying. He's a young buck. I've heard a lot of good things about the young buck. He'll be uh uh I believe a freshman. I don't know.
SPEAKER_07I I uh Shane's a guy he got him going though.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I hung out with Slim uh, I don't know, a couple weeks back. Maybe a month ago.
SPEAKER_07But yeah, dude, we should go get something to eat with Slim, dude. Period. Yeah. I'm gonna start calling him Slim as you love it.
SPEAKER_11You know, you got it, man. You got big Slim as Aaron. And then you got little Slim.
SPEAKER_07You gotta talk under the mic, man. No one can fucking hear you, bro. You know, you're gonna touch it with your shit, but you know, you might get a fucking COVID disease, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_11Uh no, but uh Aaron Maul, he uh he's gone down in history as one of the best Seattle Prep football coaches ever. I mean, that's the one. Do you know why? It's because I want to say a year ago, Seattle Prep finally beat O'Day High School. The first time that they beat in football. How long has that been for? How long has that been? Like the 80s. The mid-80s. So well over well over 25 years.
SPEAKER_07Well over.
SPEAKER_1130 years, maybe? Yeah, like they haven't beat him since the 80s. Um let me talk about O'Day and Seattle Fred.
SPEAKER_07Yo, man. Hey, pop a for two seconds, bro. Yeah. For two seconds. Hey, we
Sam McMahon Drops San Diego Tips
SPEAKER_07got a special guest. You know, we're in the fucking limelight. We're on sixth half right now. We got you know, people are in the pub. We got motherfuckers walking in and out. Hey, if you heard me say something about Ron McMahon or you heard me say something about Sam earlier, we got a special guest in the building real quick that's just gonna say what's up. Talk about his business real quick, number one. Hold it up too. Oh, what up, man? And number two, and tell the people who you are, real quick, man.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so I'm I'm Sam Davalos McMahon. Uh Foss High School 2015. Uh, you know, son of uh Ron McMahon, who, you know, is one of one of the GOATs, if you if you know, you know. If you know, you know. I mean, like, you ever heard of Steve Nash, one of the best point guards of all time? Who do you who do you look up to? Who does Steve Nash be? My dad's backup. You know, Ron McMahon's backup.
SPEAKER_07Like straight the fuck up. Hey, that's a Hall of Famer backing up in Ron McMahon, bro. The one thing your pops, bro, I remember like not, I we used to see him in Vasalt. And I see him not get picked to like the seventh pick, and people used to be like, and then they fucking started finding out real fucking quick who your pops was. You know what I mean? Canadian national team played against the fucking dream team. Yep. Also, Eastern Western Hall of Fame told me to stop hopping into my side. I had like nice little bounce. He knew that. He knew I could like get he was uh he's like, but look, if you want to go to the next level, you get the ball at your chest and you shoot it like clay fucking Thompson, bro.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_07You know what I mean? Like you shoot it like Clay, you know you elbow in. Ron's David, Ron told me he's like, don't bring the ball down. He's like every time I'm gonna you never get a shot off against me. He will, too. I was like, damn, Ron. I used to get Chris Ron Chris Hipper Ron into.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. Going outside, playing fucking horse with your dad, would he just would it just piss you off because you can never beat him? Because he just does like stupid, ridiculous shots?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean, for sure. Uh, but at the same time, I also like knew how good he was. So it was like, I'd like to. You had to understand him, man. Motherfucker didn't get it. Because he worked at the Y, and I would always come, you know, after school and see him work at the Y, and he just, you know, whoever, whatever college guy was the guy at that time, you know, was just like not even on the same level. And this is my dad who was like 35, 40. Yeah, he was done. Well done playing professionally. I didn't I never even seen my dad in his peak, but I I'd never seen like shit.
SPEAKER_07If he was like the if he was like what we saw, you can only imagine like if oh man.
SPEAKER_05I seen I seen him be the best person in the gym until he was like 40-something. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07Like he'd be getting like an $8 to $10 million NIL contract. Oh, it'd be stupid.
SPEAKER_05When he played at Eastern, he led all Division I in Steel. Well, he had the first time.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I remember that. It's fucking big sky legend. Motherfucking Ron McMahon, bro. That's that's what's up, man.
SPEAKER_10What years did your dad go to Eastern?
SPEAKER_05Uh he was there, I think 89 through 91. Oh, okay. I mean, like, I remember like kind of like 88 yeah.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, dude, because I remember Eastern going to the attorney and like fucking when I was like seventh grade or something like that, because I remember uh my teacher had the the whole NCA attorney up on the wall. And so I remember seeing Eastern and be like, yeah, dude. I was like, Easter, where's that at? Dude, come on, dude. That's it. And then and then I had to take out the encyclopedia, the book, the actual encyclopedia, and flip to oh, Easter Washington. There it is.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, no, I'm sure he'd be, if he would have went, uh, if he would have been playing today, he'd be a you know, a TikTok viral sensation. Oh, no, no, no. Come on, Sam.
SPEAKER_07No, it wouldn't end, you know, with today's with the fucking cameras and shit, man, Ron McMahon would have been at fucking uh been controlling either U dub or like a been a Kansas or been like a fucking, you know, Chris Hippet would have been like U Dub or something. I mean, who knows? Anyway, that's fucking hilarious. I'm even saying that right now.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, too many whiskeys, not enough time. Are you still doing the tattooing? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So uh if you're looking to get tatted. Yeah, so I'm uh I live in San Diego now. Oh, damn, bro. That's news to A hippo.
SPEAKER_11Hey, let me let don't leave too. Yeah, right here, because I I'm going down to Legoland. Take my boys down to Legoland now. The Carl's bad.
SPEAKER_07His boys don't get tatted, they're only eight years old, though. You got a ton of way.
SPEAKER_11Uh four and seven, not gonna get tatted. Gonna ask you uh some recommendations.
SPEAKER_07Too many tattoos, not enough time. Burritos.
SPEAKER_11So, well, no. Uh should I stay at the Legoland hotel or go like stay at like fucking Margaritaville, do the touristy shit down in the gas lane? Hey, so that's funny that you say that. My homegrothers, I kick with every day. She's a bartender at Margaritaville.
SPEAKER_05And because we all stay downtown, I say, because going to Legoland, you're not really going to San Diego.
SPEAKER_10No, you're going to Carlsback.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's like going to Isaquad and saying you're visiting Seattle. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_10Yeah, and I'll fucking run into a bunch of jar heads.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I say go to go to Margaritaville. I'll tell Mary you pulling up, she'll show you drinks extra strong. You know what I'm saying? And we we live like a few blocks away from Margaritaville, and that's how you get the San Diego experience. Stay in gas lamp, get some, you know, take it.
SPEAKER_11So I'm gonna have a four and seven-year-old, and I get him tired during the day at Legoland.
SPEAKER_05Yep. Put him to bed early at Margaritaville. And then just go downstairs, go downstairs, get to drinking, you know, get a get a baby cam or something. Yeah, some that's that's my recommendation.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, okay. And then uh here's my here's my other rec or uh question. So, should I go to the San Diego Zoo or the Safari Park?
SPEAKER_05I haven't been to either of those. I went to San Diego Zoo as a as a kid. Go see Mitchie Slayer. Yeah. Oh kid. Yeah, you probably don't want to go there. But um I've only been in San Diego for a year, so I haven't been like to everything. Okay. But uh yeah, the San Diego Zoo is sick. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_11Like I've been there, but you know, first time taking my kids.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's why I recommend just staying in uh San Diego and getting, you know, getting a rental. Can I get a Zen by the way? You sure can.
SPEAKER_11Hey, shout out to my buddy James Curry, who's uh works for Zen.
SPEAKER_12Just get a picture of him up and more of these real quick.
SPEAKER_07We're gonna get a shot, man. We gotta get a Sam on the fucking get a shot. I'm gonna show that's what I'm gonna do real quick. Shout out to Zen. Who's the homie James Curry you said? James Curry is a fucking lobbyist for fucking Zen right now, bro. Ain't that some shit? Hey, Frank, get up in this bitch, man.
SPEAKER_05Uh step back a little bit. There we go.
SPEAKER_07We're taking photos, guys. We're making a fucking day out of this shit, guys. There's still not a cloud in the motherfucking sky. How long are you back for?

SPEAKER_07Yeah, not just tattooing.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah. So trying to get my visual art on.
SPEAKER_07Man, I'm about to tap and make you do any animation yet? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05Man, come on, man. Mike Coquet. Let's go. You know, Phil Phil Corbin. MD. Ah, Phil Corbin, Stadium Legends, man.
SPEAKER_07Both those guys, Stadium Legends.
SPEAKER_05Ron, uh, Coach Ron, I forgot his last name, but he's he's one of the ghosts. Petri. Ron P. Um is that his last name?
SPEAKER_07Ron. The black dude, right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I think it was pretty sure.
SPEAKER_11When did Chris coach it?
SPEAKER_05Chris there was a senior for one year. My senior year, he was there for a little bit too. Was it a cool? Yeah. Chris Hipper. Yeah. So Chris Hippa's up there. Uh ETC Paris, you know what I'm saying?
