A: Hi, I’m Andrew
S: and I’m Steph.
Welcome back to a, this time, chilly episode of Norfolk Christmas.
Let’s chat festive dips, and not the delicious variety.
A: Yes, there are a few places you can go in Norfolk to run or walk into the North Sea this festive season. Or stay warm and watch the whole event unfold.
It's a tradition for a lot of people, a big community event and raises money for some good causes.
Hunstanton has its famous Christmas Day Swim, which has been going for over 60 years. The swim takes place at 11am and raises much needed funds for the Hunstanton and District Round Table enabling them to support many local good causes. Fancy dress is encouraged!
The North Norfolk Beach Runners organise the Boxing Day Dip, a real Cromer tradition. There will be an out and back Fun Run at 11:30am heading out towards Overstrand for 20 minutes then returning ready to prepare for the Dip.
Dippers are requested to be on the beach for 12:15 ready for a safety briefing at 12:20. The Dip will take place at exactly 12:30.
Every year, they partner with a local charity to give back to their community.
Finally, Lets Do It Anyway’ Charity Annual Boxing Day Dip in the Sea at Sea Palling at Midday.
Lets Do It Anyway is a non profit Norfolk based Charitable Trust & their mission is to promote social welfare and equality inclusion.
Fancy dress is encouraged!
We are not sure what is happening with the Sheringham New Year’s Day Dip.
