Episode #7 Reducing Financial Barriers, the benefits of Academic Scholarships
Mar 08, 2021 Season 1 Episode 7
Terry Grubbs Sr.

Summary

At the McNair Foundation Incorporated, we are preparing students today for their future tomorrow.  We offer scholarships and educational assistance for deserving students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU, s).

Show Notes

Financial assistance is necessary for many college students, particularly those planning careers that require many years of education beyond the undergraduate level. Scholarships have unique benefits and are the most desirable form of financial aid. Many are merit-based or awarded as recognition for certain achievements. Like grants, scholarships do not have to be repaid. But grants are often need-based, so scholarships are more prestigious and can enhance your resume as well as help you pay for your education.

In this episode, we talk about:

·      How are scholarships lessening the impact of rising tuition costs?

·      How scholarships help students have more time to focus on their studies?

·      How scholarships teach philanthropy?
