Today, we are going to talk about  the Trademark Modernization Act, a major piece of legislation that was signed into law late last year. The trademark law might have been easy to overlook since it was tucked inside the 5,500-plus COVID-19 relief bill. 

Our guests today have unearthed the Trademark Modernization Act and will walk us through some of the significant changes it makes to both trademark and copyright law: 

• Joe Matal, a Washington, D.C. partner in Haynes and Boone’s IP Practice, who previously served as acting director and acting solicitor of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
