It was a Saturday night, and the mom was right. She had a few too many wandered out in the lights, and as she moved through the room, everyone took their heads watched. It was late to see when I first laughed eye. She made her move, danced over, she was holding on tight, and now her heart keeps racing never felt this way before. She fell in love on the dance floor. She fell in love on the dance floor. She fell in love on the dance floor, she fell in love on the dance floor. If her friends could see her, what would they say now? She let her fall down. Now she's dancing like never before. They were just as strange as now. There's something more when this night So who knows what's in store? She's not thinking about tomorrow. Not anymore. She fell in love on the dance floor. She fell in love on the dance floor. She fell in love on the dance floor. She fell in love on the dance floor.

SPEAKER_01

That's Freedom Fry. He fell in love on the dance floor. Brand new single. Freedom Fry. A project of American Bruce Driscoll and a Parisian named Marie Sayro. They toured last year, they were in DC last September. Before that, we heard Michael Frenti and Spearhead. Haven't heard from them in a while. Brand new single, Reason to Breathe. A song about being in a dark place and trying to get out of it. Michael Frenti originally from California. He was living with his family in Bali for a while. We started out with Surewater from Austin, Texas, the song Slugs and the Marigolds off their album The New World. They're in New York on September 17th at Rough Trade. Yet another band that's not playing DC right now. I guess they either played before, or they'll play some other time, I guess. You and I are listening to the world-famous Ready Kilowatt Hour coming to you live from the studios of Radio Fairfax, a service of Fairfax Public Access in the utterly magnificent, if very wet, Fairfax, Virginia. If you have any comments or requests, or just want to love us, please follow our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok pages, or drop me a line at readykradio at gmail.com. That's R-A-D-D-Y-K-Radio. I am the spine-tingling Ready J Kilowat. We're gonna tune to a classic band who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame, both under their original name and under the name that they were under after the original lead singer died. I'm of course talking about Joy Division when Ian Curtis died. Three members of that band would go on to form New Order. The particular album that I'm gonna play a track of was called Closer, and it came out about two months after Singer Ian Curtis died of suicide. This is a song called Heart and Soul.

SPEAKER_08

The present as well, the present as well, so one with the soul.

SPEAKER_04

Look look alike, look alike. Generally in my neighborhood, folk folk folk was named for what what what what what their affliction was. If it had a big long head, his name was Longhead or Hammerhead If it was flat in the back, it was steeple head. I remember that was this really good looking cat that went to school with us. All the girls like had that good hair, was light skinned it, he got in a car wreck and hecked his face up. Guess what his nickname became? He was pretty monster. And then I had this friend Aquanetta Bucks, and cause her name was Butts, and she had a butt, her nickname became Oh, Juice.

SPEAKER_08

Double Hopper to please copper juice.

SPEAKER_04

You know you had the cat that had like the funny wandering eye. So he became Papa, Cyclops, anything like that.

SPEAKER_12

Everything you need, that's I that's I it go.

SPEAKER_16

The way we walk, the way we talk, the way we stop, the way we cast, we slip through the streets while everyone stops. Get me bigger and stick it and wide and bright. Do we bite and sweat and scream all night? Let's both throw all the songs we know. You and me are you know I'm I'll start you in spring, you're a spring for you, but you want for you want for you want for you, but you know that I do anything for you have it all the team it's all the way to fire for a while for the water one, let's go down so much.

SPEAKER_01

Doing love cats is a song I used to listen to at 5 a.m. during the summer when I was driving to work. Driving my 1973 panic lemons and listening to WXRT in Chicago. It was then the other kind of spooky song was House King is now by the Smith. Those are the glory days. It's been said that Robert Smith was inspired to write a love cast after reading Patrick White's novel, The Vivus Actor. Although uh when you talk to Robert Smith, I guess he he says he was merely drunk at the time. Originally a non-album single, it did wind up on a compilation album called Japanese Whispers in late 1983, which would wind up being the first pure album to show up on the Billboard chart in the US within the top 200, and of course, uh from there they went on to become fabulous. For that Bootsy Collins! Speaking of fabulous, he came from the George Clinton Parliament academic era with his rubber band. And this is a new album called Metal Health that features a lot of all-stars, including the guitarist Rockethead, and a guest rapper who goes by the name of Samuel L. Jackson! I was wondering if he was having a big Hunaburger before he did that rapper Royale with He. The man who neutralizes the next one. You can hate that. Anyway, Luigi Hellen Samuel L. Jackson Great Combination. We open things up with Joy Division, the song Heart and Soul of Closure from the year 1980. New Order in Joy Division, together we're gonna be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You're listening to the Ready Kill One Hour Radio Fairback next year, and everything is completely out of order right now. We have the teams coming up. They were doing Julian They made up of Catherine Hollowell and RJ Santo. They made an appearance in DC back in May and Comedy, I think they were also in Richmond. This is their second album of the year. Their first album was called Blame the Clown. This one is called Lord Water Blues, and we are going to hear the title track. This is Twisted Tea. Don't make me dumb In that beach and silver fish Sand in the roll like the sun O'Flass go rubbin' that home Megan lay it on the tongue The bugs will crawl to them until the battle is done Then you can ram them all the chill red go get on with a roll Then you can drink that for the water and go on you can drink that for the water and go on You can't drink that float of water and go away You can't drink that float of water and go away so it's gonna be fella successful fella thought himself up Side got a lot of money around place the men I need I'm a professional sick but my heart's not in it I'm playing the price of the life at the end of bed with the title dump to the touch What is that to the dump tray the bottom on the belt of the belt to the dump tray Oh It's got more than that story Everything going on It's great take on time helping the bank so it has a house the baby else in the touch in the baby Cutter It's like the man on the bell the ball the battery touch Oh it's not you well my honey Fail well my honey to birth I sing and follow accept you my self days three days Richard Reed Hurry down and Little Green Rated by Aaron and Ryan on the band as we heard we're doing a green house and the single featured a picture of Hunter Castle in Bavaria, which of course was the inspiration for uh the magic castle at Disneyland. That was inspired by the former manager who decided to retire from the record label just before blur made it big, and he went to live in he went to live in a uh a country house, probably not like in Schwanstein, but you know, had four acres and plenty of room for the dogs, cats, and children. We started out with the team doing Florida Water Blues! I'll tell you, that that's one of the better songs I've heard this year drinking Florida Water and Gold Blind. You're from New Orleans, and I'm not from New Orleans, I am from Northern Virginia, and uh had we're I had uh had uh carrying umbrella this afternoon. Uh it was sunny out, but it was also pouring, which was insane. Uh the weather was just crazy. Anyway, it is time to unplug the Ready Kilowatt Hour for this week. A reminder you can stream our old shows at readykradio.bustrock.com or on your favorite podcast app. We'll be back on Radio Care Facts next week with both Rock and Roll. Until next week, it's ReadyK Kilowatt and your Rock and Roll servant. Stay well, stay safe, and please don't kill anyone. Good night.
