Peirce was, Why did you choose to write erotica?

BB Pierce said, Actually, Erotica chose me.

I have always been sexually active and always horny.

Like I always say, a dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Especially if it is yours.

Hmm, I agree.

So I began writing erotica first as short stories for men's magazines and adult publishers using freelance writers.

Many were Canadian as the censorship there seemed to be less than the USA when it came to kinky niche and taboo subject matters.

My next question to Bebe Pierce was, what is your favorite part of the writing process?

The response, I suppose I might have a few, yet there is nothing better than when you get in that cannot stop writing zone.

You know, when it actually pains you, when you really must stop, even though those thoughts and creative ideas are still swirling around in your head.

The other is that, late at the end of the tunnel, when you realize that it is not a speeding train heading towards you, quite the opposite, you have finished the story or book.

Next question, do you have a favorite story or book that you have written?

BB Pierce said,

In all fairness, the characters are like family, as are all the stories and books, no matter the length or kinky niche.

So therefore, I love them all.

I can understand that perspective.

It's really hard to pick one of your favorite books.

I have the same thing.

How long have you been writing?

BB Pierce said, I suppose you are referring mainly to Erotica.

Not long enough, I feel at times.

I started writing erotica when it was sold mostly in adult bookstores, in newsstands, in protective clear plastic wrappers, and adult stories in the major men's magazines publications which bought from freelancers.

Times have changed.

I also took a hiatus from it for many years and have now returned.

The next question I asked was, what was an early experience where you learned that language had power?

B.B.

Pierce said, I have always been a firm believer that the pen is mightier than the sword, although I would never recommend bringing a pen to a sword fight.

Ever notice the word sword has word in it?

That's very true.

It does have that word in it.

Next question.

Do you do any research for your writing?

BB Pierce said, Oh yes, especially at times whenever I need more details and sometimes expert advice in specific areas of sexuality.

I never like to wing it or make things up.

Erotica readers deserve erotica to be the best that it can be every time.

All writing requires research, no matter the genre or niche.

I agree completely with that.

The next question, what is your definition of success as a writer slash author?

B.B.

Pierce said, I value success perhaps in ways that many do not.

I would suppose most would answer in numbers of stories, ebooks, books, and or audiobooks sold, maybe even in total dollar amount.

which is a material value.

I measure success in how an individual feels and sees themselves.

A person with little to no money can feel more successful than one with a large amount of wealth.

I strive to offer the readers an experience that they will enjoy sexually, something no one can take away from them, even one they had never imagined possible before reading my erotica.

Happiness and contentment are the most important keys to success for me.

Others may disagree.

You need to look deep within your own self to find it.

If you are happy with yourself, then that is true success, which is inner peace.

Hmm.

I like that answer.

The next question I pose to Bebe Pierce, describe a typical writing session for you.

Well, to be honest, there is no such animal, said B.B.

Pierce.

Each one is normally totally different.

I write when I can.

Not any standard time put aside with no disruptions.

The major standards are the same MacBook and the same chair.

As far as time and mindset, they all vary.

As all writers of any genre know, writer's block can rear its ugly head at any moment.

So, at any given time, I am always adding to all sorts of files I keep on my screen such as story ideas, titles, characters, sex acts, and even covers and titles.

This way, when the words stop coming, then I shift gears while still staying with my writing and add to the various files.

I make all of my own book covers and sometimes will design a cover during writer's block well in advance of writing the book.

Otherwise, I always suggest to other writers who experience writer's block to just do something totally different, get away from it, and come back to it later with a fresh approach.

Very good answer.

I agree.

Nothing wrong with a break and come back fresh.

The next question I posed was, do you develop characters or plot first?

BB Pierce said, trick question.

I get a story idea from my files, and as I begin writing, I come up with a number and types of characters, although I have at times added or subtracted a character if it made the erotica hotter.

Mind you, there have been times the idea is churning in my head, and I just sit down and begin to write about it and polish it as I go along.

I'm a big believer in rewrites and rewriting again.

When I go back and read a story, I might wish to add another sex scene to it or make one even hotter and kinkier.

One thing I like to do is lots and lots of hot sex, hot sex scenes and at times hope that some of my readers learn something new to try themselves the next time they have the opportunity.

Character and plot development may shift back and forth in my creative process from time to time I suppose I am far from your normal writer, which may or may not actually be to my benefit Hmm good answer.

We are all very different and if you're anything like me Yeah, it's not always the same, but there are often ways where I write better I tend to write better in the mornings because my brain is clear personally

The next question I posed to B.B.

Pierce was, What are you working on now?

B.B.

Pierce said, A few different ones actually.

I do swing back and forth between them then at times and others, I work diligently on one non-stop to complete it.

The ones I have on board right now are my fetishes.

I have just connected with an actual gilf who does adult content.

I plan to have my character use her adult content for sexual stimulation so that she gets credit and links back to her sales page in the book.

This is something new and exciting for me.

I have just started experimenting with an already half one female content provider from the UK in my Peking Thomas book.

Ironically I've posted my need for adult content providers to be in my books on social media yet even though there are so many of them there is no rush of replies.

Lately I wonder how much and just how far social media sends the posts of adult content providers.

My replies and like notifications are way down as of lately.

I've even placed a NSFW, not safe for work, where no matter what images I post, they all have to be clicked on to see them.

What are your short-term writing goals?

Bebe Pierce said, get my website restructured.

It seems there are too many reasons I am not getting many more hits, although GoDaddy says I am getting a lot of them.

However, for my taste, it is so well underperforming right now.

I need more traffic since I have so much to offer in erotica and adult content.

Also, get my social media organic marketing and hire gear and find a company that promotes erotica for a fair price that will deliver all that they can promise.

Too many missed the marks.

English as I have no degree in it just a studio arts degree with a minor in photography which does help with my book cover designs.

Pierce said how many authors of all genres that there are self-publishing.

Yes self-publishing is becoming very very huge and it's just amazing because there's so much that can be done now.

No time in history have we been able to disseminate like this.

Writers, authors, able to just get their stuff out there all on their own.

It's just absolutely phenomenal.

Books on meditation, photography, quotes of wisdom and inspiration, marketing on social media, and even RVing.

Never get discouraged or allow anyone to undermine what it is you are writing.

Just keep it legal.

Be honest, fair, and compassionate with others as well as yourself.

Always be ready to write down any ideas that pop into your head so you do not forget them.

Obviously, I am not new to erotica and have written erotica previously for many years under various pen names, authoring erotica novels, novellas, story collections, short stories, and adult magazines and newsletter articles, and even a book on how to write erotica.

I have also been a webmaster for a site about amateur adult video making where both amateur and professional adult videos were reviewed and critiqued by myself.

Soon my ebook will be published on how to make amateur adult videos among other adult oriented business ventures that erotica readers might like to get involved in.
