While some people do strictly value-add or development, today’s guest does both! Based in Austin, Texas, Joel Fine is a general partner in 1,200 doors, including some ground-up development projects. He is also a limited partner in 17,000 doors across 15 states. Joel has been in real estate full-time for only four years. Prior to that, he was a business owner, entrepreneur, executive program manager, and engineer. In this episode, Joel explains why he does both development and value-add, the key differences between the two, and how doing both helps him diversify and mitigate risk.
