My DPC Story Season 5 Episode 233

In this episode, I am introducing the Open Enrollment Season Survival Kit. Drawing from over four years of experience at Big Trees MD (and interviewing fellow DPC Physicians), the survival kit aims to assist doctors and their Medicare-age patients during open enrollment. The kit includes customizable communication templates, tracking tools, and social media content, all designed to bolster patient relationships. I was so excited to drop a post about it yesterday, but, or it might've been this morning, past midnight. But I have finished what I am calling the open enrollment season survival kit, and it's been something that, I've been in practice for over four years now. I have quite a few people on. Medicare due to age in my panel personally. And I. I am hoping that this resource is really helpful, especially in this time where HR one and the big beautiful Bill have passed and people can fund their HSAs as well as pay for A DPC membership. And so whether people are planning for open enrollment now, looking into it before they're of Medicare age, or they're in a Medicare Advantage plan that's no longer being offered I'm hoping that this toolkit, the survival kit rather, can really help you and your patients going forward addressing. Healthcare as October 15th is looming. So when I first started working on this. The idea was really pulling from the Bigtree MD experience. What we've found is helpful especially for those of us like myself, who are, balancing multiple hats. Not even the hats of the clinic, but just like being a parent and, wanting to do particular goals with my work and advocacy. And just the goals of being a doctor. And so, the, the. Toolkit The survival kit is, I think I'm saying toolkit because that's the name of our magazine that's coming out this week. Also super excited about that. But that. This is really getting at the heart of how we talk about healthcare and Medicare, Medicare Advantage and DPC focused on the relationships that we are already bringing as DPC doctors. So it's not about, how do you maximize this code or whatever. It's really about how do you communicate with your patients. In a way that can be templated and used, like literally downloading it and printing it out in a black and white format, or a digital format or whatever to be used for your patients with your logo, your colors, et cetera. So it is a template that can be adjusted on Canva. For those of you who are gonna get the survival kit there's a download with instructions on how to use Canva. If you don't have it, or you can use it if you are not using the paid version. So just know that upfront. When it comes to the things inside. So there's different sections. Some of the kit is focused on the copy and paste email and text templates that can be used in your practice, whether you're a Micropractice doctor or one with staff as well as different. Different scripts to use when you're talking with your patients. Really common questions and how to answer them in a succinct manner that you can even copy and paste and put on your FAQs. Or if you're doing a talk in your community, you can use this there. In addition to just talking one-on-one with your patients there is a tracker that you can use to track your open enrollment eligible folks and there's also some social media templates that. We've put together to again, be used and changed to your brand and personalized in the way that you want to, to touch base with your patients. But the customizability is, I think one of the big things that reinforces the relationship. Based use of this material. So I hope that it is helpful. I hope that it allows you to just really focus on maintaining the, the things that you wanna achieve with your practice and with your patients, but also helping empower your patients to know what to do in this. Crazy tumultuous time that we're experiencing when it comes to the United States and healthcare. where to go to download the Open Enrollment Survival kit is going to be my dpc story.com/open enrollment, or you can go to the link in the show notes and you'll find the link to download it there. But please use the toolkit, give me feedback because I would love to improve this going forward to see what's helpful for you guys, and is helpful for. The DPC physicians who are yet to come. So thank you so much again for supporting the work the podcast is doing and with gratitude. I will talk with you soon. Thanks. Bye.
