Because as I've made these decisions, and move"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":436.47999999999996,"endTime":441.90999999999997,"body":"forward, and I do, I also want to throw in here for like,"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":436.47999999999996,"endTime":441.90999999999997,"body":"we'll talk about this a couple of times, but like I made the"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":441.90999999999997,"endTime":447.31,"body":"decision that Being Boss would be making a very big pivot."},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":441.90999999999997,"endTime":447.31,"body":"And we'll talk more about what that looks like. And all the"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":447.31,"endTime":454.57,"body":"things for like, this is going to be a big unraveling"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":447.31,"endTime":454.57,"body":"conversation over the next couple of episodes. So I've gone back to that"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":462.09999999999997,"endTime":470.46999999999997,"body":"time many times over the past year, because a year ago, I"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":470.46999999999997,"endTime":477.61,"body":"made the decision that Being Boss is about to start making a"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":470.46999999999997,"endTime":477.61,"body":"very big transition out of what it is either to no longer"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":477.61,"endTime":484.41999999999996,"body":"exist or into something completely different. So it's been a"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":477.61,"endTime":484.41999999999996,"body":"year that I've been sitting on this and sort of making my"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":484.41999999999996,"endTime":490.39,"body":"maneuverings, and it really was going back to those"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":484.41999999999996,"endTime":490.39,"body":"conversations that I was having with you and with David and"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":490.39,"endTime":500.86,"body":"with myself more than anybody in 2019, 2020 when we started"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":490.39,"endTime":500.86,"body":"a partial buyout in 2019, finished it and 2020. Those two"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":500.86,"endTime":507.58,"body":"episodes in 2019, about the burnout and buyout were really"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":500.86,"endTime":507.58,"body":"probably the last time we sort of had a strategic"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":507.58,"endTime":512.6800000000001,"body":"conversation as to what's happening at Being Boss, like how"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":507.58,"endTime":512.6800000000001,"body":"all of this is shaped up and why we're making the decisions"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":512.6800000000001,"endTime":513.88,"body":"that we're making, et cetera."},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":514.66,"endTime":522.37,"body":"And at that point, I remember making sort of a loose promise"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":514.66,"endTime":522.37,"body":"to myself. Not, like a like a like, I swear this is how it's"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":522.37,"endTime":530.77,"body":"going to, you know, happen. But it was more like I I'm"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":522.37,"endTime":530.77,"body":"committing myself in some capacity to giving Being Boss, a"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":530.77,"endTime":541.24,"body":"good hard go alone for five years. Right. That was that was"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":530.77,"endTime":541.24,"body":"like my marker. And now in 2023. That was four years ago,"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":541.27,"endTime":550.03,"body":"like I'm getting I'm very much so getting to the strategic"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":541.27,"endTime":550.03,"body":"end of something that I sort of said to myself way back"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":550.03,"endTime":556.09,"body":"then. And so that's been a really big part of it, as as I"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":550.03,"endTime":556.09,"body":"have gone through the past couple of years, has been really"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":556.09,"endTime":561.49,"body":"looking at that five year timeline and going, you know,"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":556.09,"endTime":561.49,"body":"we're getting closer and closer, what is this going to look"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":561.49,"endTime":569.47,"body":"like? What's working, what's not working all of those"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":561.49,"endTime":569.47,"body":"things. So it's four years in, I wanted to keep it because I"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":569.47,"endTime":576.46,"body":"wasn't done yet. And you were which totally honored and love"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":569.47,"endTime":576.46,"body":"that for you. I remember you several times saying like I've"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":576.46,"endTime":579.25,"body":"said it, I've said everything that I need to say."},{"speaker":"Kathleen Shannon","startTime":580.66,"endTime":581.23,"body":"Yeah."},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":581.4,"endTime":586.77,"body":"And I will say that like I've finally gotten"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":581.4,"endTime":586.77,"body":"to that point, like I have felt that very much. So over the"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":586.77,"endTime":594.0,"body":"past couple of are probably the past year. But in 2019 I"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":586.77,"endTime":594.0,"body":"didn't feel that. I felt like I still had some things I"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":594.0,"endTime":602.13,"body":"wanted to say and some things that I wanted to do. And I"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":594.0,"endTime":602.13,"body":"just needed to I needed a bit more time to do it. And at"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":602.13,"endTime":613.41,"body":"that point as well, Almanac was still a baby. And because I"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":602.13,"endTime":613.41,"body":"wasn't gonna go get a job by any means. I was going to stay"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":613.41,"endTime":622.62,"body":"in the business that was doing the thing that being Being"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":613.41,"endTime":622.62,"body":"Boss, while I strategized a transition into Almanac. So it"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":622.62,"endTime":631.11,"body":"was really a way for me I was buying myself time basically,"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":622.62,"endTime":631.11,"body":"I was literally buying myself four, five, six years to make"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":631.11,"endTime":638.61,"body":"Almanac into the business that I wanted it to be while"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":631.11,"endTime":638.61,"body":"having the fallback of Being Boss doing the thing. And it"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":638.61,"endTime":646.62,"body":"allowed me to keep a brand that we had already created and"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":638.61,"endTime":646.62,"body":"put so much equity into it. To do the things that I most"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":646.62,"endTime":655.89,"body":"wanted to do, and that was masterminds, events, and an"},{"speaker":"Emily Thompson","startTime":646.62,"endTime":655.89,"body":"online community, those were the three things.
