We welcome Eric Carter-Landin to the show to talk about the abuse he and his family endured surrounding the murder of his baby brother back in the 80s, who was responsible for Jacob’s death, and how they have managed to evade the law for all these years! This dark history plus the shockingly high rate of unsolved or unresolved murders in New Mexico led Eric to create his own podcast about true crime in New Mexico — True Consequences. It also drove him and his mother to fight to have Jacob’s case reopened. And thanks to their hard work, there might be some light at the end of that tunnel.
We also have unexpected updates to the case of Dianna Brice, whose body was found the same day we shared her missing person story on tiktok. Diana was 4 months pregnant with her boyfriend, Justin Smith’s baby when she was reported missing. Justin — who is suspected of murdering Dianna — is still at large, after his abandoned car was found engulfed in flames in the same area where her body was later discovered. And we’re only just getting started! This case is just bewildering. It seems like this story could not have more twists and turns, but it’s really still unraveling. Stay tuned for updates.
