Ever wonder how to reset your spiritual life after getting completely off track?
In 2 Chronicles 29-31, King Hezekiah reopens and repairs the Temple and restores true worship. Then he invites everyone, even those who previously turned their backs, to a massive Passover celebration.
When people show up with open yet impure hearts, Hezekiah prays, and God heals. What follows is an epic two-week party of deep joy, vibrant music, and nationwide renewal.
In our 2 Chronicles 29-31 Bible study, we cover:
- [2:45] Temple Cleaning: Why Hezekiah’s urgent Temple cleansing can inspire us to purify our own temple of the Holy Spirit.
- [13:40] Reclaiming Feasts: How the Old Testament Passover lamb directly points to Jesus.
- [16:07] Open Invitations: Why Hezekiah invites all of Israel back to worship and how we can do the same today.
- [24:20] Grace Over Perfection: How God answers Hezekiah's prayer for the people who show up spiritually unclean.
- [31:39] Faith Dominoes: How one leader pursuing God with his whole heart inspires an entire nation to return to the Lord.
2 Chronicles Show Notes
Group discussion questions for 2 Chronicles 29–31
- [5:40] King Hezekiah immediately purifies the Temple as the first step toward a restored relationship with God. What distractions or idols in your own life could you clear out to purify the temple of the Holy Spirit within you and strengthen your relationship with God?
- [22:12] Hezekiah extends an invitation to all Israel. Some scorn the invite, but some accept it. In your own life, who might appreciate an invitation to come back to worship with you? What is one practical way you could extend that invitation this week?
- [24:24] Hezekiah prays for the people who come to Passover with sincere yet impure hearts. In your own world, who might you be tempted to judge for their impurity? How do you think God would respond if you intentionally prayed for their healing?
