World of Horror with Mom & Mac
Mother and son team Mom and Mac discuss, analyze, dissect and explore international horror movies. Conversations are casual but spoiler-heavy. We take turns choosing a genre or subgenre of horror and pairing an international film with an American one. Past episodes have included: Funny Games, One Missed Call, Let the Right One In/Let Me In. Genres we have covered are Animal Attack (BOAR from Australia and TREMORS); Creepy Kids (GOODNIGHT, MOMMY from Austria and ORPHAN); Battle Royale-type films (BATTLE ROYALE from Japan and THE BELKO EXPERIMENT); Haunted Houses (THE HOUSE AT THE END OF TIME from Venezuela and BEETLEJUICE). EVIL DEAD TRAP & THESIS: World of Foundational Horror Bonus: Episode 115

For this episode, I am looking at two stories that involve snuff films: EVIL DEAD TRAP from Japan and THESIS / TESIS from Spain.
Neither makes a whole lot of sense, but each has its brilliant charms.
The kills in EVIL DEAD TRAP are great and the plot takes a serious left turn in the third act. THESIS is one of my favorite films despite some of the annoying plot holes. Everyone is a joy to behold, especially Fele Martinez, who, along with Eduardo Noriega appears in ABRE LOS OJOS, also directed by Alejandro Amenabar.
Coming up next is our show about writers, as it appears our Tech Horror Ep. may have been reclaimed by the gods of the Internet. We looked at IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS and BURNING.
