Most of us have heard the story of the Prodigal Son in the Bible. A son runs off with his inheritance and squanders it. He returns with his tail between his legs, prepared to be a servant in his father's house. Instead of being met with disappointment, his father greets him with celebration and throws a party in his honor because he is so happy his son has returned home. This is a beauitful picture of forgiveness and grace. But what happened after the party? Did this family move forward in a healthy way or did they fall back into their toxicity?
