SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we are. It's uh Saturday, August 1st. All right. I think that's it. Yeah, Saturday, August 1st is the uh is a shootout. Uh it's I mean we call it the shootout, the World Cup. It's uh I think the official name is the World Cup, but it's the shootout.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um new format this time, and I like it. Uh it's it's a it's a coon hunt, it pays out like a coon hunt, and uh you're gonna be broken up kind of like a coon hunt. Yeah everybody's everybody's gonna draw out, and you'll have uh like four dog uh four four not four dog casts, but fourteen casts.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I may have like if I got for in for example, I have four early round entries and two late round entries. That means uh uh you'll have that a total of 16 casts, and I think uh I think it's uh uh four casts will be in the late round, and you'll have uh yeah, you'll have four late round casts and you'll have uh uh twelve early round casts.

SPEAKER_03

Gotcha.

SPEAKER_04

So you'll draw out your cast numbers and uh you'll figure out what pair of dogs you want to put in your in whatever cast you draw. So if you only got one entry, you're gonna draw one cast, you know what team you're gonna run. If you got multiple entries, you know, you'll gotta you'll have to kind of strategize to keep your dogs from running in back-to-back casts and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_01

You know, that makes a big difference.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it can, it can, it sure can.

SPEAKER_01

Well, this time of year with the heat and and all that, um, you know, it just depending on how many runs there is. Because like you get into some of these that we've had in the past, I've seen some guys, they sign their dogs up. Uh say say one guy signs his dog up as many times as you sign Goose up when when Goose was three years old. Not every dog, not every dog can make those perfect scores back to back to back to back. Usually I, you know, we try to pair up about three times. That way the dog, you know, if he makes it on to the bayoff, which we we always plan on going to the bayoff, and then if he makes it to the next round, you know, those minutes add up.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. They will. And they and they stack up. Uh I mean, even if even if you make it through that show, it's it's it's uh it's gonna shorten your career. Yes. I promise you.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

You know, Bay and Ruff and Rank Hogs will shorten your career too. But uh, but minute the minutes are stack will stack up on you, especially in the heat of August. I don't care if it's night nighttime or not, it's still gonna be hot. And uh so you better you better have them in shape. You know, it seems like uh when I ever every time I I flip to a a hog hunting uh uh a hog hunting uh post or you know any anybody that hog hunts, it seems like hog hunters now have to go in the most unfavorable conditions to make sure that they got good dogs. It's like they purposely go out in 100 degree weather and drop in no and no sign just to see how good their dogs are now.

SPEAKER_01

It seems like that's a lot. I mean, my I have to do it because I have shitty dogs and shitty property.

SPEAKER_04

I see I see these posts nowadays. I'm like, you know, like you won't know what you're feeding until you run six hours in 98 degree weather. I'm like, I don't ever want to know what the hell I'm feeding if that's the conditions we're gonna talk about.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm gonna tell you. I went last weekend and dude, that walker dog, he just kept rolling, rolling. I was like, please come home. And at three o'clock, I left him. I went to the house. I said, Hey, you just gonna have to figure it out, brother. It's 99 degrees. Bubba.

SPEAKER_04

I promised you my dogs would go uh go a whole lot further than I will.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's what I said. 10:30 that night, old boy called said, Man, the hog crossed the road, his dog was running a hunk my horn, he stopped. I said, I said, Well, I'm glad you got him to stop. Well, his collar, his collar died that morning. So, you know, so I was like, I mean, we tried to stay up with him, but it's like the some of these dogs will go, they'll run. And but I'm not purposely doing that shit. You know, I I've there ain't no doubt. No.

SPEAKER_04

I I've had guys, you know, like like I had a I had a uh one of my hunting dogs, because I I I don't I don't hog hunt near as much as I used to. But uh so I I went ahead and and I pretty much I only got one hunt, I I only have one dog I hunt on my yard right now. Yeah, I want to go, I'm bringing one dog and I'm bringing my catch dogs, and and I'll go hog hunting with that. But uh, we ain't hog hunted in about uh about a year and a half. And uh I had a guy when I was selling one of my my I mean really it's my my she's my lead dog to be honest, but she was the best, she was the smart plug that would get everything started. But I had a guy asking me about her, you know, he's like, Well man, what's she doing? No sign. I said, fuck, I don't know. I ain't never went and just dropped for no reason and no sign. I'm actually looking for hogs myself. It's a team effort, if you ask me.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm not I'm not doing that. Like, like if you you know, people people want to know what their what their dogs are doing and what what this and that and the other. I'm like, that ain't me, Bubba. I'm I I'm here to go and catch. And I want to I wanna I don't want to do it as fast as I can so I can be home.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's that's the general objective. Uh which well I say catch, you know, we we want to try to bay ours, we don't want to get them all beat up because we we don't really have a lot of access where we live at. But at the same time, if if that dog needs to go, I want him to be able to. And and you gotta keep them in shape. I don't understand that why a lot of people they don't exercise their dogs at all. And I I mean, well, let me take it back. Their cast dogs, they'll they'll road hunt them or they cast them, those dogs are getting a lot of exercise. What about your catch dog? Most catch dogs just sit on the buggy. That all mine do too. Oh well, you listen, mine running that treadmill. That joke, that joker, I I ain't I'm not worried about him. You know, when we cut him loose, I if he's gotta hang on for a while, he's just gonna he he's ready, he's in shape. You know, and I feel like that that's something that people overlook. Uh, and I'm not saying everybody has to do it because they don't, that's their dogs, they like them, the hell I love them, you know. Whatever. Whatever floats your boat. I'm not gonna knock your dog. That's your dog.

SPEAKER_04

No, that's right. I've always had a thing about people.

SPEAKER_02

I lost it. You still there? Well, I don't know. We get it going, y'all.

SPEAKER_01

He's having some storms out that way. And we are too.

SPEAKER_00

Please leave your message or before.

SPEAKER_01

It might have been storming too much. We'll give it a second and see if he'll call us back right quick. In the meantime, though, for real y'all uh for y'all listeners out there, there's there's a large percentage. I feel that you know, catch dogs are they're they're not conditioned um for for hot summer months, you know. You you condition a lot of your other dogs, but what do you do for your catch dogs? You know, do you run it on the road or you know, let it run beside your four-wheeler? Uh, and and not while you're hunting, but when you're not hunting, to get it ready for your hunts. I that's just something I I'm kind of curious as to uh if other people do that. Y'all let me know if y'all do. That might be a whole nother whole nother episode we can talk about. Let's see if we can get him back on the horn right quick.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Please leave your message for four zero nine five five.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, it might have done blowed them might have done blow them all away. I don't know. I hope not. He said they was having some strong winds and all that good jack.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_04

Man, I lied to you. I didn't I didn't mean to, but I wasn't ready.

SPEAKER_01

No, you what happened?

SPEAKER_04

Phone died. I mean battery dead.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh well I tried to call you back. Yeah, I tried to call you back. I said, hell they might have got blowed out with that damn stuff. I said, You're talking about that storm and stuff. And I was like, Well shit. And I thought for a second, I said I went, I pushed the pause button. I said, he'd call me back in a minute. He got to get a phone charger.

SPEAKER_04

Yep, I had to get a phone charger. It sucker died over.

SPEAKER_01

I did that shit last night. It went live on TikTok and I was like, Yeah, come on. We've we just got going, man, and man, we had a bunch of people piling in. I was like, hey guys, I gotta go. I I didn't want to tell everybody like my phone's on 2%.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I thought I would be no doubt.

SPEAKER_04

Are we still recording or so?

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, we're good. We're good.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, good. I didn't know if all that had had uh had cut out, but I just put I paused it.

SPEAKER_01

Nathan, he can he'll he'll splice it if it needs to. If not, we'll just let it roll. It wasn't that long.

SPEAKER_04

All right, good deal.

SPEAKER_01

You know, we figure that out.

SPEAKER_04

I'll I'll let the experts figure that out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Nate's the expert. We let him do all that stuff. But no, I mean, I'm I'm work go ahead.

SPEAKER_04

I'm working on my own podcast now. I'm trying to get where I where I can uh get going and get set up, but I'm gonna have a I'm building a room for it. And uh I want to do like video type deals where I got people and guests that'll come out and we can sit down and that's right. Like have you ever watched the Santa Sharp one? Uh they sit down and they have a glass of whiskey or whatever they're doing right there at the time.

SPEAKER_01

We we got all our cameras and we got we got all our camera stuff set up. Again, you know, we started out just doing it still kind of crude back then, but we got we got some new camera setups and all that stuff, and uh that's why we we were gonna go back to doing some video stuff. And we have just been so bit we ain't really had time to get everything completely set up like it needs to be.

SPEAKER_04

And uh I imagine it's really hard to get guests to travel.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, and well, doing not doing over the phone interviews, uh, you know, I mean, like if it's just me and Nate sitting on the camera talking, fuck after one or two, you know, it's like okay, it's the same bullshit over and over. Yeah. Uh but like if you get some guests to come in, or if say if we travel, like uh there's a couple, like we were gonna go to Tom Garner's place and sit down and talk with him, uh like Sam Kate, some of the old old school bulldog guys, especially some of the older men, they don't like talking on damn phone. You they want you to come set up at their place, and and man, it's it's pretty cool to do that, you know. Yeah, but I've also been I've also gotten a bind. Like we got invited to a place and we got there, and the guy that was showing us everything, he just left and we didn't see him anymore. We didn't know fucking nobody. Like uh like we like we had I was like uh he saw the video cameras, he's like, Man, I can't be on camera. Yeah, I'm talking about that motherfucker ran. Anyway, so I was like, Well, we're supposed to stay with him. He had us a place lined up and all this stuff, and I'm like, bro, I could have just like it was two hours to the closest room. I was like, God no. So we slept we slept in old boy shit out there. He was like, Man, y'all can stay out there in my little my hunting camp. You know, like hell yeah, and we got it. Man, we had a good time though. We made the best out of it, but uh that's usually how it always turns out. Oh man, met the best folks I'm talking about, had a great time. And yeah, literally made some lifelong friends. And we're gonna go back here in a couple months when bear season gets going. We're gonna go down and run some bear dogs with them. But but anyway, the all the traveling stuff, sometimes you gotta watch it. You know, you gotta make sure your shit's together.

SPEAKER_04

That ain't no doubt. That ain't no doubt.

SPEAKER_01

No, I think I think it'd be a good thing to get you get your room built and do it, do it like that. We need some new stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I well, I mean, yeah, I want to have like everybody like I got I've kind of you know, since I've been doing the coon hunts and I've diversified that and I rubbed elbows with some of them guys and met a few of those. Matter of fact, good friend of mine, uh that uh Cody Pritchard. I don't know if y'all, if y'all kept up to date on in the coon dog world, but Cody Pritchard just won the $200,000 hunt, the Jarvis Pumpereer. I don't want to butcher the name. You know, but but I I that $200,000, the largest coon hunt in the world, that that to date, the the biggest coon hunt. Cody Pritchard, my buddy, he won that with a dog that he he he hadn't had him long. And what's crazy about it is and y'all is uh you know, Elvis, my my coon dog, he he passed away, the one that I had Blake hunting. Yeah. Uh when we were in Winfield, he he uh he had a stroke at a tree. You know, and a dog, I mean a two-year-old dog, you know. You know, he he obviously had something, some health problem that we just didn't know about. Uh you know, he stroked out at a tree uh uh or had a seizure or something. But anyways, well all that happened and and you know, Cody had was on one of the cast walking. He didn't have a dog in it, he walked the cast with uh with us, with me and Blake, and uh I forgot who he was with. He uh an older gentleman had a dog named B. You know, it's crazy. You you know you always remember the dog's names, you don't ever remember the people's names.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

But but but in hindsight, that's how I'd rather it be anyways. I'd rather a lot of people remember my dog's name than mine. You know, that means they made the impression. But uh Cody was on that hunt and uh was on a hunt with us, and you know, I got to meet him and talk to him. He actually bought a kennel from uh TJ over Animal Housing Solutions PUD and TJ and then when they were doing that thing, uh we we we had a kennel delivered out to Jenna, Louisiana. Well, Cody, when Elvis had passed away and I saw that $200,000 hunt, I said, Man, I wish I had a dog for this, you know, because I wanted to compete in it, obviously. Well, Cody called me and gave me an opportunity, and I just man, I I honestly, I meant to get, I was gonna get with Blake about it just to make sure he didn't have something he wanted to try to put in there. And I never got back with Cody. It just it wasn't, you know, but he gave me an opportunity to split that injury, and of course I didn't do it, and he wins the hunt. Yeah, that's crazy. I talked to him afterwards, you know, and he was like, Man, I tried to give you a shot again. I said, um, I said, if it my luck, you would you you would have your dog, your dog would have been plus six twenty-five, yeah, like he was, and you'd have gotten a fight at the tree and got scratched. I was like, the way it worked out was for the best. Because if I'd have had anything to do with it, something bad would have happened.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it would have worked out like that. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

No doubt. He he went out, man. That dog was plus six twenty-five on a cast. Next cast, he was plus six hundred. I I think the worst cast that dog had was the very last cast in the finals. And he was still plus five. That's good. Three three coons. I mean, it was I think it was like three, he was like, he might have been plus four hundred or three seventy-five. That was his worst score. I'm telling you, when I looked at all the other scores across the board, most of these dogs were winning casts plus 150 and plus 325.

SPEAKER_03

Damn.

SPEAKER_04

That dog, he they didn't hunt it off. They got to that when they got to the final three, they all split 100,000 each.

SPEAKER_03

But it was like this.

SPEAKER_04

You can either you could either split 100,000 each for the three of you, or y'all hunt it off. One of you's gonna win 200, one's gonna win 70, one's gonna win 30.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's okay.

SPEAKER_04

He told me, he said, man, it, you know, it was hard to, you know, it you know, you want to hunt it off because for the sake of hunting in a 200,000 hunt. He said, but he told me he said that he said when he got up the next morning, his dog was snake bit. He said, if he'd have hunt, if he'd have hunted again, yeah and like, you know, that dog could have, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Could have been anything happened, man. You could have got him hot.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. He's like, man, he's like, he said, I was so glad that we all decided to split because you know, I look I look at my dog the next morning because they would have had to hunt uh Saturday night. They they finished that all of that on Friday. They hunted Thursday night and then Friday night. They was gonna have to come back out. You know, they hunted late Friday night and then they was gonna have to come out uh you know early around Saturday and hunt it off if they were gonna do it. But they ended up all taking a split him. It was Cody Pressure, Dual Murphy, and Dustin Weed splitting $100,000. Crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's crazy. That's pretty wild, man.

SPEAKER_04

But that's the thing though. Coondogs, they had 108 entries at $5,000 apiece. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And they they have to close, they have to limit those entries.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because I mean, people will buy the shit out of like they'll all be gone.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah, yeah. That I mean they they they field 108, and it I think it took two days. We've been trying to do a thousand dollar entry on a dang on a uh on a bait uh on a hog dog deal, and we limited it now to sixty-four. It's limited to sixty-four. But it's been the these hunt the these spots have been open for almost a month now, and I think there's like fourteen spots available.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

14 spots, which is you know, three casts, three and a half casts, you know. And that's the difference between the coon dog culture and the hog dog culture.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. And it's well, it's also not it it goes to the same thing, Randy, where you'll have probably 75% of the hog dog guys will say, I'm not paying a thousand dollars for a catch dog, or I'm not paying, I'm not paying uh four thousand dollars for a good trail dog. They're they're not gonna do it. Uh I mean there's a there's a small percentage that will, but most of them they want something they pick up off the side of the road and it does okay, and they're they're fine with it. And if they like it, I love it. You know, yeah, that's fine. But but at the same time, they they wonder why there's not a lot of growth. That's one reason there, you know. Uh yeah. Talking about the coon hunting, I gotta give a shout out to my buddy Jacob Kilgore. He he carried a little walker dog up there the other night and plused up 825 at Detroit night before last, I think it was.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that's how long how long was the hunt?

SPEAKER_01

I I have no idea. I just he he sent me the thing or tagged me in.

SPEAKER_04

Probably a two hour. I mean, I I would have threw them a two hour.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think say a couple hours.

SPEAKER_04

They usually do it. I mean, like I think two hours usually the max of what they do. I'm I mean they I may be wrong. I I haven't been doing it long enough to two.

SPEAKER_01

That's generally what all these are.

SPEAKER_04

All the big hunts are usually two hour hunts. You know, they all them big ones are two hour hunts.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they plus eight.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, yeah, that's a that's running it up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. He they've got some good dogs.

SPEAKER_04

Five coons and struck good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Five or five or six.

SPEAKER_01

He hog hunts too. Uh he used to hog hunt a lot. He kind of got out of coon hunting. He's a he's a good, he's a handler now. He's a handler.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. That's what it I mean, it takes a good handler too, along with a good dog.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

He's along with along with a good dog. You gotta have a handler.

SPEAKER_01

That's it, that's a fact.

SPEAKER_04

But no, and that that that's that's what I love about that's what that's that's what inspired me to do coon hunts, man, because that there's there's a hundred and eight people out there that ain't scared to throw some to throw five thousand dollars. I mean, it for all things, like you know, it's not really about the money, but it does make it exciting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It makes it exciting. I mean, you pee you don't hear people talking about the $35 coon hunt. Nobody cares, nobody talks about it. No, but everybody's gonna talk about the everybody's gonna talk about the thousand dollar, uh the you know, the five thousand dollar coon hunt that's paying out two hundred thousand dollars. You know, or the five thousand the five thousand dollar entry that pays out uh you know, uh pays out. A uh a hundred thousand. I mean they had a hundred thousand one, but it was sixty-four dolls.

SPEAKER_01

Or a new Toyota truck or sabbat, you know. No, absolutely. All this, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Uh it the speaking of that, uh uh Jake got with uh Adam Campbell that owns Pro Sport, uh Coon Hunt. I don't know if you've heard of Pro Sport, but it's it's one of the bigger it's the it's like you know, there's PKC and Pro Sport. I think they actually do some work together.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they do.

SPEAKER_04

They they they code they co do some hunts. But anyways, Greg May Adam Yeah, Ad Adam and Gregor, I think, are partners on that deal. And uh, if I'm if I'm not mistaken, but anyways, uh it looks like uh for the week of Earls and the this next this next Earls, they're gonna have uh we're gonna have a coon hunt there. Um and like a big one, like a truck hunt. Like they're gonna do a big uh thing, and that that's where the the the the meeting's gonna be is at Uncle Earls, where they're all all them, all them uh coon hunters are gonna come there and you know they're gonna draw out for their cast and this and that and the other, and they'll come back and report right back in there. So we'll get to kind of see all that, you know, uh how that's going. And uh hopefully like the King Street Media guys uh will be there and and uh get to get to be a part of that. That's that's gonna be a pretty big deal. Oh, yeah. That's gonna be a real big deal next year. And uh, but yeah, speaking of man, I know we was wanting to keep this one short, kind of hit hit on this uh this this uh event that's coming up August 1st in Downsville. It's the shootout four dog, you draw out just like a coon hunt. And the cool thing about this, you know, and and this is this is gonna if we can make this format work for this event, we might be able to do this for all events coming up. I don't know. It's gonna it, you know, obviously you gotta try it to see how it works, you know, in in the R world. It's gonna be it's obviously a little different, but it's still the same.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what I like about it is is it's just like the coondog world. When you run that cast, and here here's why I'm kind of excited about it. I've man, I've kind of held off on everything, and I know I know time's ticking, but I I've just got to make sure I can my dog at least my dog can be there. I've got a dog, I've got a dog that I'm not saying he's guaranteed to go to the bayoff, but he's been way more times than not. So if I get that first cast, I win my money back plus 250.

SPEAKER_04

Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm all I'm already to the good. I done got my gas money and all that back. Now you know you ain't even you you ain't out no money. No, that's what I'm saying. So if you got a dog that is good in the if he's uh good in the first bay, you need to sign it somebody chuck.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you you win a cast, you you're you're not out nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly. You get paid back right then right right then.

SPEAKER_04

So so we're gonna have it that we got it the the the thing limited to 64 entries, 48 early, uh, 16 late. And when you when you do it like that, you be you all you so so in other words, people are like, well man, like like everybody's signing up their dogs. Here's what like people's already signing up several pairs for $200 a piece, you know, or $100, what what's what's up world's entry piece? Yeah, I don't know, $100, $180.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think so for the two dogs, it's gonna run you $160.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's either $160, $180, I think, with all the options and stuff a couple hundred bucks at the most. Yeah, and people will do people are putting in four or five of them and and four or five of them entries like that.

SPEAKER_01

And they go to the bayoff.

SPEAKER_04

And they and they got and and they gotta beat, they gotta beat 300 teams to get to the top three before they get they see a dollar. One dollar.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_04

Now they gotta go out and beat three teams.

SPEAKER_01

And like I said, if you got a dollar, I could man, I could I literally could have been to the good if the format was like this, I think every single bay I've ever been to, you wouldn't have lost a penny. I wouldn't have lost nothing.

SPEAKER_04

At worst, you'd be broke even right now.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

But I but I you know I I mean I bet you'd be money ahead though. I mean, you know, you you I mean, you know, obviously it don't always cover gas hotels and but but it it's a hobby. I I don't care what anybody if you're doing this to make to for uh to try to make a living, there's no way of making a living under the format we're we're doing it right now. If we do it, if we can continue to do these these uh these competitions, if we can do all these competitions like this, you might be able to start making a living doing this. You really could, because you if you're gonna if you're if they're gonna pay me for every round I win, yeah. I mean that's it, you know. I mean, I I went to Uncle Earl's and uh last year, and every single team I put in came back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Every I I mean I went like eight for eight.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so you can't beat that, you know.

SPEAKER_04

No, I mean like that that's and if I'm getting all my entry back plus a a couple hundred bucks, every time I'm not out, I'm I'm not out of I'm not out a dollar, and then if I make it to the end and win it, yeah, I'm gonna really be up in the uh you're really gonna be ahead. Yeah, but in this under this format, under this format, it's gonna it's gonna open so many doors for for other owners to start coming in and buying dogs. I mean, you may you may, you know, you may find yourself Joey one day handling somebody's dog that he's he's this guy's got deep pockets. You know, he he may be handing you a credit card, you know, and you and you run up and around the road on his gas. But that's how they've done it in coon hunting, and that's the only way we can get this done in our world. Because obviously it's work for them. If it's worked for coon hunters, why can't it work for us?

SPEAKER_01

It's been working for a long time.

SPEAKER_04

It's been working, yes. A lot longer than a lot longer than that yeah, and then what we've what we've only we've only been really going since about the 90s, if you really want. And and it hasn't really gotten big until 2013. Coon hunting's been big since the 40s.

SPEAKER_01

I was fixing to say, I know my great uncles, but I mean, by the time when I was a little bitty kid in late 70s, early 80s, I can remember he had a trophy room and some of the I mean some some big dog shit, you know, and they were running coon hunts all the time out there in Arkansas and Mississippi.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and obviously over the past probably five to ten years, it's it's really hit a bird, you know. But the reason is it's because of the format that they're under, and the format we're under, it you know, you gotta beat 300 teams to get paid, uh you just ain't gonna find very many folks. Now, if if we can start doing uh you know big hunts like Earth, like big events like Uncle Earl's, where we're doing uh 150 entries, 150, you know, you break it up. I mean, we might have to we might figure out that we need to break it up into uh eight dog casts or ten or twelve dog casts, you know, uh you know, segments, maybe once every hog swap. You follow what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh uh whatever, however the case may be. I don't know how to do it.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be it's gonna be better on the hogs, I feel like, you know, you because people are gonna sign up, they're better dogs. They're not just gonna sign up whatever.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. And and if you got if you got if you got a what people don't realize is paying a thousand dollar entry, this was gonna be the cheapest event they go to all year. They got they got one event to take care of, and they got uh, you know, they probably only have one or two teams to to worry with, and most of them, they may have one team to themselves, and then they'll have one team split. So worst case they're out, that they're gonna be, you know, fifteen hundred bucks in on for an entry and a half, and then they got all they gotta do is win one cast, and then their their money's back. You know, in and you get in the top 16, there's gonna be at least 16 different people happy. You know, like when when I I went to those those big hunts, I went to the hundred thousand dollar hunt, I went to another one that was uh really a pretty big hunt, I forgot what it was. Uh we went up to Montefelo, Arkansas, but we won our cast. I won every both of them. I won my early cast. And I won about it profit about a thousand bucks on each of those deals. Like I might like it was a five thousand dollar entry, one we won 6,500. We got paid $6,500 when we won our cast. I you know, I got beat. I wasn't, I mean, which I'm never upset. But everybody that made them that that made the top 16, I promise you, they were all shaking hands with the guy that beat them to go on to the finals. You know what I mean? We were everybody shaking hands, everybody's, you know, you know, you're gonna get beat, and you know, that's just how it's gonna be. So you some days it's not gonna be your night, you know. And and getting into the top 16 is yeah it's just like making a bailout. A lot of people lot of times a lot of people are are happy that they made the bayoff. Now you make the bayoff, you made some money.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

You know, it it ain't you ain't just getting it ain't just nothing to show for it. You got the bay off, you you gonna make a little bit, you know. Uh a lot of people, you know, their their dog will go out and perform well. Hell, he might make the bayoff three times, but he don't win at the end of the night. He don't make it to the top five, but I mean, he made it he made it three times when the when the winner might have only made it once. But he won with that team that he was in, you know? And I mean, what I mean at the end of the day, who do you think really performed better? I mean, you know, I mean, he didn't win, but he might have outperformed it. This is a this is a format that it's gonna reward those high performing high performing dogs no matter what.

SPEAKER_01

And we've all seen it. Look, I mean, you've seen it, I've seen it, Jake's saying everybody that's been doing this and actually pays attention. We have all seen that dog that worked his ass off all weekend long or all week long and did not place. You know what I'm saying? I've watched dogs and I'm like, damn. I what I remember when Fanboy was doing it, just working, working, working. He was always right there, but he couldn't get over that hump.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and it wouldn't it wouldn't always be his fault. That's right.

SPEAKER_01

It ain't always their fault. That's exactly right.

SPEAKER_04

And and and that, and that don't make that don't make that don't mean that dog didn't have a great performance. He just didn't, he didn't get he has nothing to show for at the end.

SPEAKER_01

I've I've learned that the hard way. The way you pair your dogs is is very imperative. Uh it just because somebody says, hey man, you want to run with my dog, that that doesn't mean and you can say no. You know, I that's when I first started going, I was like, Well, I guess. And then I kept noticing it was like, Well, they didn't have nothing on my dog, and then the other dog would would do make a couple of mistakes or something. And uh, it's not one of those blame games by no means it's like, hey, these dogs don't pair well together. So let's find something that they do. You know, yeah, that's right. It's pretty simple.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, yeah, I've been I've I've had people approach me for runs and I I couldn't do it. I really, you know, I had either I was booked up or whatever, but you know, I'm like, man, this guy's asking me to run with him. I need to pay attention, I need to at the minimum at least pay attention to this dog. He might be seeing something I ain't seeing. I might not have I'm you know, I might not have got to watch his dog, you know, before. Let me look at it. I go up and look at him and I'll start thinking, I think old boy's right. Yeah, I I probably need to to find a way to squeeze him in here and get a give him a run. It's probably a work out, you know, after after watching it. I've been wrong before too, just like the same way. But uh like going back to what you're saying, like I watched I mean, one example was uh was uh Lulu's dog. Yeah. Uh uh center and back. They had a phenomenal weekend at this last May show. Like I'm telling you, they looked they looked as good as anything. You know, it it yeah, they they could not they like they just had the worst luck. They just they literally that was it. They just had the worst luck because they drew a shit hog and they had to chase him for five minutes, I think was around. And I'm talking about and when I say chase him, I'm talking about they did the hog did not stop long enough for them to get one bark out, and then he was back running. This hog never stopped. They chased him, shoot him, and he would stop before they could even bark, break again. And it was you know, they had you chase him and chew on him all the way around the pen for five minutes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's hard on a dog.

SPEAKER_04

And hey, they made it through that round. So I was like, if they made it through that one, they're not gonna get beat. You know what I mean? Because it's just destiny. Then they come out and they draw the same killer that Fanboy and Goose threw that that about that about killed goose. Man, he had that hog had no business being in a lineup. Mr. Lynn called me after the event. I was like, man, ain't just me you gotta call. There's little like center about center about got his head, center's head's full. Like the dog, I think, went into a seizure after the event, like on the ride home. Corey called me and told me about it, and Lulu did the same. I don't know that he's even cleared the bay right now. And and I might and I might not, but I might be speaking out of turn here. Uh if I am, I apologize. I ain't trying to put air everybody's business out, but I mean I I know the dog that, you know, like I you know, she knows me well, and you know, I don't know if she wanted everybody to know that, but dog had a pretty rough deal with that. I mean, he got beat up bad, just like mine did. But I dog. Like if she dr if she draws anything else, they're they're in the top three. I mean anything else. Anything other than the ones, the two that they drew. Because after chasing that one around for five minutes, they had to come back and bathe this two-ear tag hog, and he had two ear tags in his ear because it was supposed to be an indication to not let him in a row in a normal lineup.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And we we did everything you could to prevent that hog from getting in in rotation, and guess what? He got in rotation.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, it it had that's the way it goes. It happens, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I mean, and I drew him, I drew him twice. I drew him Saturday night and Sunday in the in the two-dog cup. And uh he about killed fanboy Saturday night, about killed goose on Sunday. Uh damn near killed Lulu's dog. I I'm telling you, I've seen I've seen every bad hog in the world. There's a whole new level of bad when it comes to that hog.

SPEAKER_03

Really?

SPEAKER_04

I mean, yeah, I mean, I've seen them all. That that is the worst, the nastiest. The the when he he he get dude, your daughter, your partner can be helping you all he wants. He can be hanging him on the ear. He's not addressing him if he's got you down on the ground. He's gonna go ahead and kill you first. Finish you off, then he'll worry about that dog that's hanging him on the ear. You can be a fanboy was helping Goose every ounce he could, and we were perfect for four minutes and fifty seconds on him.

SPEAKER_01

Damn it, boy.

SPEAKER_04

Four minutes and fifty seconds. We were perfect. And Goose was the fourth ass whooping he took from him, he it like it, it like he bit him and got and cut his Achilles tendon, and uh Goose couldn't go to him after that. Like he was he stood up in the middle of the pen, just stared at him and was just started barking. From about 20 feet, couldn't he could he could not go back to the hole.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Like ph physically his body was like, he just couldn't go, yeah. Yeah, I ran in there, scooped him up, and got him out. And uh man, it was just it was just a bad deal, especially for a nine-year-old dog to have to, you know, he shouldn't shouldn't have, you know, for something that shouldn't have been there, not for six minutes, right? We if we all were baying that if it was down to me and you and we had to bay him for two minutes, like that's just what we gotta do. But but we that hog has in in a in a in a I think we were a six minute or eight minute round at that time, I couldn't remember, but he's he's hurting something bad. Like he's gonna hurt you. And if you got that long to bay on him, he's gonna hurt you. And it hey, people talk about oh well if you don't pressure, it didn't matter. There was hot there was other dogs that was baying that sucker ten feet off of him. They were they were ten feet back. He's still running them down. He don't care. He wasn't worried about it. When he when he wants to come, he he picks his time when he wants to come, and when he comes, he don't come until he hit he till he gets you. He chases you till he gets you. Damn. He is chasing you till he gets you, and when he gets you and he gets you down, he don't let you get back up on your feet.

SPEAKER_02

That sounded like a bad boy there.

SPEAKER_04

He was. He was for he I'm I'm glad to I'm glad to see him go. I told Lynn, I'd give him I told Lynn, I said, I'll pay you whatever you want for that hole, but you ain't gonna like how it ends.

SPEAKER_01

Well you know that I think the very first show that it might have been the second show that we went to down there, he had one like that, and that some bitch, it that's it, it got slayed, cut him up. Uh, and then Mr. Lynn was in there, and that some bitch jumped, tried to jump over the board and bite him in the face. And uh I think Lynn wound up, you know, letting him go from his position because uh he went to the house and got that lever action in that bulldog, and he said, we're gonna take a break. Yeah, hell yeah, he got rid of that son bitch.

SPEAKER_04

Well, Lynn, you know, he's too old to be fooling with uh hogs like that, you know? Especially ones that that are coming after the people just as much as they're coming after the dogs.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, we want we want it, we I mean he's got a nasty set of hogs, don't get me wrong. But there's a level, there's levels to nasty. You know what I mean? It was kind of like Tuff Hederman, uh, you know, when he when he drew Baudacious and he and he tipped his hat and said, Y'all can y'all can let him out. I ain't getting on him. You know, I I when I stood at the gate that that second time for that that uh in that two-dog cup and I'm in it's just down to three teams. It's me and three other teams, and I'm looking at this hog and I'm like, man, I don't I'm I've sat there for a good minute thinking about I'm just gonna walk away. I was like, I knew he was gonna he I know he's gonna hurt something bad.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And and uh you know, I yeah, I I I eventually turned loose and made him made the mistake. That's my fault. I should have I should have literally did exactly what Tuff did. I should have just fouled out and said, Hey, this was if this was the this the hog we're we're playing with this hog, then I can't play the game. He's that he's that bad. That uh you don't want to be do you don't want to mess with him.

SPEAKER_01

But about 10 years ago, we had a sow like that, man. You couldn't do nothing with her. I I'm talking about this is literally the meanest hog I've ever seen, and it was a sow about 175 pounds. Right, and she would flat run you down, she'd jump over the pen. I mean, I couldn't tell how many times we had to go catch her because she just jumped slap out of it. And I mean, it that some bitch was crazy. Uh hell there, I couldn't tell she she dogged me out two or three different times. She got night. Uh, a couple of my buddies was over here. Finally, we just we went on ahead and did some little sausage work on her ass.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I mean they they they all eat good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

They all eat good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. How uh so uh you got your dogs, chaos is down there with Scott Lanier.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, we uh I didn't think I was gonna be able to. I went to Hickory Crossing for the plot bay, and I hadn't bade him, I have not bade I hadn't bade chaos at all since the last one. And and so it was I was like, man, which we we placed there. The last time I bait him before that was Uncle Earl's in 2024. Or no, it was in 2025, I take it back. So I bait him at Earl's and then the plot bay. And then no, that's 2024, I was right. So I didn't bait him at Earl's this year. He uh he man, he was just out of shape and the and the plot bay, so I let him bait him. And we placed, I was like, well, then they they was like, You come to Abbeyville? I was like, man, I'm gonna have to work, I'm pretty sure. And so I told Scott, I said, Man, take him with you. And you know, run him with 12. Me and Carter had talked about it, and he looked good. He just get he was just gassing out because I I mean he was not in shape. And so we got first place in the two-dog at Abbeyville with him, and then I told Scott, I was like, Well, I said, Man, if you're gonna go to I think he said he was going to tadpoles, I said, Well, just you know, keep on doing it, keep on rolling with him, you know, get him, get him in good shape and do that. And uh then I seen this format pop up a couple of weeks ago and man, I I just it's been going through my mind the whole time. I I hadn't talked to Scott, so I don't know if he's gonna try to make it up here or not. He should because all the shit he's been talking. He he needs to come on and bring his Monsieur dog in chaos. If he don't, then I need to get chaos a ride back up here, or I need to go pick him up.

SPEAKER_04

Scott Scott's got one himself that he needs to have in the things out.

SPEAKER_01

That Monsieur dog, I'm telling you that somebody shit he he got second place in the one dog out there at Abbeyville.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's but but but he's got another one too that's a two-dog that he won a two-dog with. I think it was Jesse or something.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's one of Saying he's got several good dogs.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, yeah, it's mostly it's mostly his dog that he's telling me is Craigless dog.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's his Craigless call. That's what he calls. He calls it Craiglick's cull. But if yeah, if you there's he's got a couple other dogs. You look at them dogs, and when when chaos got down there to his place, they were in kennels beside each other. You couldn't tell which one was parked. When they barked, you damn sure hardly couldn't tell that either. Yeah. I was like, damn. But he said he knew where it originally came from and all that. And it's it goes back to some of the same stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay. Yeah, I got you. Yeah, I mean, dude, that that old boy, he needs to get him like a little sponsor or something. He needs to find a way to get his dog entered in there. Yeah, I mean, a dog, a dog like that needs to get entered in.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I done told I told him already. I was like, look, man, if you're gonna push him, let me know. And that's what I told him on this last one when uh when he called, you know, he was like, hey man, you know, this is how much you want and all that stuff. And he's like, I didn't do nothing behind him. I was like, look, you keep half of it and pay entry fees, whatever you need to do with it.

SPEAKER_04

You know, I yeah, and some of these, uh so, so some of these uh there was some deal that they did in this coon hunt deal where they raffled like like I think they participated in a raffle. Uh anybody that you know hasn't ran, and uh like like anybody that hadn't participated in any of the PKC Pro events that they just ran in the open, they they got and they had over like a thousand dollars one in open events. Uh they could pay like I think they they got involved in a raffle, it's like a hundred bucks or fifty bucks of spot and they are I may it might have been a hundred bucks a spot and they raffled off you know uh uh they they'd get like ten people and ra or or fifty people and they would uh uh raffle it off and then they would win an entry to the event. Basically, I mean it funded it because it still paid for it, you know. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But but but they but they won their entry in a raffle. Well, if we did something like that, I promise you Scott's ass will win. You know, uh what was it, year before last Jake giveaway, uh they raffled off the Garmin 200 or three years ago. He won that one. I think he's won a couple new Garmin systems. He's got them, they're still in the box. He wins them in all these raffles, little lucky ass.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we need that when I we are to put together, I I I'll talk to Jake, see if we can't do that. Like where anybody that's uh hadn't been or you know doesn't have a dog that's placed or one at Jake's or something like that, that wants uh you know, or I he'd have to figure out he can figure out a way to open it up for people and and maybe do uh maybe even do uh several of them, raffle off uh two entries where ten people put up a hundred bucks and you might you might get your team in there for a hundred bucks. Yeah. But you know, it still pays for the the the entry.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it still covers the hole there. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah we might we might I bet I bet you there's enough people out there that's over, especially over on that side of the world over around the Georgia area that hasn't been out to Jake's in years that that that wouldn't mind uh you know putting a hundred dollars up for a raffle to try to have a shot at getting their dog in that yeah, I think I think it would work.

SPEAKER_01

I definitely do. And I'm gonna talk with him with with Scott. Well, they did it, they didn't know. If I can't get him to do it, I mean like I said, hell, I'll I'll pay the entries. Yeah, whatever. I sponsor the entries, you know, and and hell. Because like I said, I might not be able to even be there because of work. Uh, but if I'm not, you know, my dog can still be there.

SPEAKER_04

I if I if if I was in your shoes, whatever work was going on would have to pause so I could run chaos and 12. Just won the two-dog in Abbeyville. One of the best two-dog teams out there ain't even entered in this thing yet.

SPEAKER_01

That's what you know, it kills it baffles me. I know. I know, I know. What my partner's over across the pond over there in where Guatemala or uh I I I bet oh I bet old Ryan will bring 12.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I guarantee he will. I bet 12 can 12 is so many a rise to bands without Carter, I'm sure. Ain't no doubt.

SPEAKER_01

Ain't no doubt. That's that's why I was kind of I was kind of surprised a little bit when they won first, I was like, damn, and Carter was there too. No doubt. I said, well, one of us doesn't need to be there. So Carter's each so Carter's overseas right now, so it'd be my turn to be there.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Which one was it?

SPEAKER_04

Was it chaos? Was it chaos or junior that drew uh Goose in the uh shootout one year?

SPEAKER_01

It was chaos. And they and they went. He caught, didn't he? That's the first time he's ever put teeth on a hog. Everybody looked, they were like, I was well, what it was is Goose checked that hog and held on for a couple of seconds, and chaos like, hell yeah. I'm like, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

But but in that drama, we got cowboy too.

SPEAKER_01

Remember, we got cowboy and goose. I got junior and cowboy, and then goose and chaos. Everybody said, Damn, you got it, boy. You got it. And I was like, fuck, we got we got do we got dick you don't both of them.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and and when when when chaos dog, you looked at me, he said, I ain't never seen that dog kit. I said no, you ain't never ran. I said, he ain't never ran with a man like that.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. That's what I said too. I said, It mo got confident as hell right quick, boy. Oh Lord. And after that, it was like, you know, if we because some of those bays we go to, they're very limited on the hogs they can have on the East Coast, you know that. And so if there's a less than desirable pig and we get him, we might as well just go on and tip our hat, you know, because it they finna stretch his ass. You know. Um but I've I've seen them, I've seen them bait really good, and then there's times I've seen them where and and I'm still one of those guys. I I let them make one mistake and I pull them. Like I don't let them just keep on, you know.

SPEAKER_04

And well, it don't ever really do them no good. And this in this format though, you better not do that on the first one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you let them go. That's right.

SPEAKER_04

I'm telling you, there's gonna be there's gonna be a cast. I bet you anything, there's more than one cast one, and they don't get a 10.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. I I've guaranteed, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And you know, that's that's the that's the thing about this, and and uh Jay's gonna have to tell his judges too, because this is gonna be different, because your judges typically they flip a light on you, and they they they go to they don't once they flip once they got you, they turn the light on. They don't even hardly watch no more.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Now they can't do that. And I gonna have to watch they got they're gonna have to watch this run and score every mistake. Otherwise, we're gonna be tied at nine nuts.

SPEAKER_01

That that's you know what I mean? That's a fact. See, it's going back a little more old school now. We're going back to where it's you know, the judges gotta be on their game, handlers gotta be on their game, dogs gotta be on their game.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, every bit, every bit of it. And it's gonna be this is gonna be the best, in my opinion, this is the format, this is the format that we're gonna have to use going forward at some point and in order to make this get to that level that that you know where it's where it's worth anybody's time. You know, it's it's it because uh that's the the the thing what the the thing about coon hunting that makes it so much uh easier to put on all these coon hunts and this and that and the other, and they pay back so much, you know, they can pay back 80%, 90%, whatever. The reason they can do that is because nobody's supplying coons.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Nobody's supplying a venue. We meet up at a at a clubhouse somewhere that's usually their dues are paid by some by by members of a club, and they meet up there and then they draw out and they go hunt, and they may be hunting an hour away from where they're where they draw out from.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_04

And everybody's in different woods.

SPEAKER_02

That's a fact.

SPEAKER_04

And and we we we can't do that. Oh man, you gotta have a stock. Well, stocks gotta stocks gotta be strong. The only way stocks gotta be strong is stocks gotta be fed, and fed a lot. And you gotta have at least 60 plus to have a good one dog and a two-dog.

SPEAKER_01

I agree with you.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, that's six sixty, you know how much it costs to feed sixty head of hogs enough to keep them fat and healthy?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, I got a good idea uh because I've I've had a lot of hogs, but I have I'll be honest with you, I ain't had that many big hogs like like they got like that, you know. And it costs a damn fortune to feed, you know, 40 or 50 head of smaller hogs. You gotta have a connection.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you gotta have you better, you gotta either have like uh a grocery store that gives you everything they throw out or something.

SPEAKER_01

You gotta go over to buy wholesale or something. You gotta be able to do it, and it still costs the hell out of you. Vaccinations, time, effort, all of it equals money.

SPEAKER_04

A thousand or two a month, you know. Oh yeah. And then then you gotta add then you gotta put the venue together that can hold, you know, uh uh, you know, uh uh a hundred plus handlers and people and everything else, spectators and room for the dogs. Yeah, exactly. All of those things you gotta find. And then it costs a lot of money to put the put an event together and and uh you know, so people have you know, the these hog hunters have forgotten that. They they want that they wanna they want to go to a cheap event where the entries are fifty dollars and then complain about the stock. You know, stock not this strong look, man. The stock ain't strong enough because y'all won't pay a hundred dollar entry, or y'all won't pay a two hundred dollar entry and show up. So you're that's why these these hogs that that's why so many pins have fallen off and died. Because they they can't maintain it, they can't maintain it.

SPEAKER_01

The smaller pins definitely can't.

SPEAKER_04

They can't maintain it and and keep the crowd happy.

SPEAKER_01

Because you look at look at Mr. Mark out there, up until just the past year or two, he finally went up to $80. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, you know what I'm saying? I how how can he even do it?

SPEAKER_04

He he ain't and and I guarantee you if you ask him, I bet he ain't made very much money doing it. If he's made any, I bet he's lost.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think.

SPEAKER_04

I bet it's costly. He does he does it only because of sheer love of doing it, and he likes to put people together, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I I agree with that cost the love of it.

SPEAKER_04

But it's but but you know how many people are gonna do that for that kind of time? Well, nobody else in this him, yeah, him and Jake. But Jake's doing it. Jake's gonna make a profit if he and he's got to. I want him to. I won't I wish he made double what he made. I wish he made double whatever he's making. I don't even know what he's making. I wish he made I wish he made double or triple.

SPEAKER_01

And that's the thing. I think too many people get worried about what they are making instead of saying, hey, we're all on the same team, and I want to see somebody succeed. They always and because, like you said before, we're fixing to get in a whole bunch of shit right here now. I I know I'm gonna catch hell. All right, well, like you said before, and it's from both sides, we we you're not guaranteed or or your percentages of winning are not very high for the average person that's participating. So they feel like they're they feel like they're getting fucked all the time. There's always somebody cheated, uh, it's it's this, the judge fucked them over, it's blah blah blah. And and there's times things do go wrong, but I've had I've had I've had them give to me, and I've also got it on the other side. It happens. And but the thing about it is if you got a format where people are at least getting their entry fees back, yeah, then they don't feel like they're out as much. So I think a lot of that would kind of calm.

SPEAKER_04

It'll it'll lighten the atmosphere. I think so. I'm telling you, the the the the pressure and the nostalgia get so thick you can barely breathe at times. Like I see people make the bayoff and they're walking up with their dog and they're like in tears, shaking. Especially in newer, the newer, like they're so nervous because they've never been here before. And they're and all, you know, and I'm like, man, like I I'm I remember I remember at one time I used to feel that way. You know, yeah, and uh now I I've I've got I built so much pressure, but it's it's invited. I I invited that pressure. You know, I created that pressure for myself. But you're right though. The the thing about it is is there all the it's it's always something to complain about rather than and that and and because they lost money, and that's the that's the problem. If you go out and buy you a forty thousand dollar side-by-side, and that's your hobby, is to go ride through these trails and ride in the mud and and you snorkel it and you put a stereo and you're happy, it's for fun.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's not to make you money. Every time you take it out, you're putting gas in that machine, you're having gas to go to it, you have camp fees, you have park fees, and then you break something every time you go out, and it it ain't nothing but a money pit that you continue to dump into because you don't know. You don't ever see any? But yeah, nobody's complaining about that.

SPEAKER_01

No. And I'll tell you another side of it. Here's here's another side of it can make it better, Randy. How many guys own bit small companies that go there? How many business owners do you think show up at the hog basin?

SPEAKER_04

Not not many. Not many.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's what I'm saying. Just as far as like somebody who owns a small business or something like that, like a little, like my I got a small business. Uh I know two or three other guys that have small businesses. All right.

SPEAKER_04

So You got Johnny. You got Johnny. Uh I don't own no business. I mean, I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what that's what I'm saying. We've we've got just a few of us, and we all try to sponsor. All of all of us try to sponsor something. You know, in some form or fashion over the years. Uh, I guarantee you anybody that owns a business of any kind, they have sponsored a buckle, a trophy, or a class of some type. All right, so why not some of these other people that work for bigger companies or other companies, hey, start politicking for it a little bit instead of bitching and complaining, try to make it better. That's what coon hunters do. I know guys right now that call me all the time, they're like, hey, you did a roof on my grandpa's house. And I was like, Yeah, they was like, man, would you be interested in donating something to help us up here at this coon hunt? You know, the youth hunts coming up or the or whatever. And I promise, if it ain't but 20 bucks, you know, we do it, and they put your name on the list of sponsors and all that. If more people would do that, you know.

SPEAKER_04

I don't own a business, but I own a brand. And I've I've sponsored, I sponsored your events, I sponsored Carter's, I've sponsored I ever just about everything that I've ever been asked. Tyler Grisham's event, I sponsored it. I mean, yeah, uh uh Jack Bergeron Rodeo Company. Jay Bird, he does it, he does sponsors too. He sponsored a bunch of stuff himself and put his own money in. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

The guys that show up, we do spot, you know, they sponsor all they can. So, you know, take the load off of just the the the eight or ten that's there and try to lighten the load a little bit, if nothing else, you know, you know, split the work.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we're gonna need like kind of like corporate type money to get involved at some point. Or or or or some some some uh some rich goddang hog hunters that that you know they might like hog hunting and maybe they want to they they they may not own a dog or they may not have a dog, but they won't end. Well, I mean my kennel's always up for sale.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_04

I you you know how like like uh Dustin Weed, he made a million dollars last year, or maybe it's his career, I'm not sure. But he's made over a million dollars coon hunting.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But but I bet you he ain't getting but about I mean he's getting a percentage of that money because he don't even own the dog he's hunting.

SPEAKER_01

That's that's right.

SPEAKER_04

He don't own a dog. I don't I don't know that he he might now. I don't know. I mean I don't know his business.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what he's doing. Well that's I and I've told people that I've got to do it. But I know I know most of them you can buy a dog and make somebody run it for you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, most of them guys, uh Chris Collins, he's the guy right up the road from me. He he's hunting a dog. I thought that was I mean it is I mean, I think it is his dog, but it he's partners on that dog with somebody that can afford to put uh $5,000 entry up. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Uh and and there's others, Dual Murphy, you know, he's got a millionaire that's fronting his uh all of you know, like he enters, he's got a couple dogs. I mean, he's got several of them now, and uh you don't ever know which one he's bringing to the event to to enter.

SPEAKER_01

Hell yeah. Well if anybody wants to spend a lot of money, y'all can sponsor my dogs and I'll be happy.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. Like like it, you know, somebody come through here and buy buy my kennel out and uh I'll still handle them and run them just like I do now.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

And I won't I I'll just I'll just make a cut. I'll just make a percentage. I don't care. It ain't about the money for me, but it I want to compete for high high stake stuff. I'm gonna I want to compete for stuff that matters.

SPEAKER_02

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Things that people talk about. I mean that's all I mean everybody. Nobody nobody, you know, nobody talks about the $35 10 hunt down the road. They talk to everybody everybody in the world talking about that $200,000 hunt.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, that's just if you're gonna compete, you know, like you said, nobody's talking about the the the games you played at vacation bible school. We talk about the Olympics. That's right. You know, so and I think that's you know, I I think if more people would just be open and receptive to it and say, look, instead of just being negative and and saying, Oh, that ain't gonna work, or this or that, look, hey, if it don't, we'll see when it's over. But but at least let it happen you know, and support the hell out of it.

SPEAKER_04

This event's gonna work. As it stands right now. Well, even as it stands right now, if Jake didn't take another, he didn't get another entry between now and he's he the technically he it's still gonna pay out more than what we did last year, right now. I mean, it's already a success.

SPEAKER_01

And it's gonna be a what a $40,000 payout total? It's gonna be actually $45,000 payout.

SPEAKER_04

If all of them fill up, so if all six all $64 fill, it will pay forty-five thousand dollars. And I I'm gonna go.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I'm saying. That that's it, that's just for your winnings there.

SPEAKER_04

I I tell you We're gonna pay $20,000 is gonna be paid to all the cast winners. So little less than half is gonna go to all cast winners.

SPEAKER_01

Well that's for first place, too, though, man.

SPEAKER_04

I mean that's and it's still is yeah, that's the only way we could do this to have a decent payout for first place. And and have and have it where because we we talked about it. I I even looked at it. I was like, look, so mathematically, if we tried to do this for uh $600, like the entry last year was $600 a team, which is $300 apiece. So all we did was we went up $200 a dog. And and to go up $200 a dog allowed this to be at such a better payout for everybody. Like it, like I don't care. You can afford another $200 for your best team. I'm sorry. You can't.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

If you if you're just complaining to complain, then just just say you want to be a bitch. I mean, that's just all there is to it. Just say, hey, I'm a bitch. I don't want to get in because I can't afford an extra $200. Even though every event you go to, you spend double that amount of money on entries across the uh whole thing. You're telling me you're not gonna put 200 more for your best team? No, you just want to cry and complain, and you want you want the event to to fail. If that's all if that's if that's who you are, if you're out there right now and you're calling people around and and rallying troops up against this event, you're just a bitch. I said it.

SPEAKER_01

I like it.

SPEAKER_04

And if you got a problem, if you got a problem with what I said, 4067 FM770 Coots, Texas.

SPEAKER_01

There you go. Come see me. Listen, this is getting to be a trend now.

SPEAKER_04

Or pick up the phone, pick up the phone and call me, and I'll come find you.

SPEAKER_01

This is getting to be a trend now. Because last the last show that we done, Raul Cobreja called a guy, bitch. He called his name out, said, Hey, uh he's a bitch, and just let him know. I said, Boy, if we're trending now, huh? I don't know what hey if this podcast ain't real, I don't know what else to tell you.

SPEAKER_04

You know 100%. So if you don't like if you don't like an event like this, that's what it is. I understand there's some there there's some people that hey they they really genuinely can't afford that. But there's a way they can figure it if they if they can't afford it, they got they got a if they got a great dog, somebody's gonna help them afford it. Because somebody's gonna want a piece of it. Just all you gotta do is think outside the box. Alright, you know, I need to get this these two in because they're good and they need to be competing for it. Let me go partner up with somebody. Believe me, if I didn't have money, I if I didn't have the money to to afford my interest, I'd find a way. I'd go, I'd I would do it because this is the type of event that's gonna be talked about for years. And this is the type of event that's gonna set the set the culture for for upcoming events and change and maybe change the culture of Hogband in general to where we we got less bitches and more cool people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean I I could and that that's the problem. I'll be honest with 100% transparency on this, is that's one of the reasons why I haven't been to a lot of them. Man, it was just like every fucking time we go, it's all it is is drama. Like, fuck guys, look, drink some beer, watch the dog run. If your dog sucks, hey, pay your entry, let them run, or or look, don't bring any dogs, just come hang out. It costs you 20 bucks to come in the gate, buy some beer, clap for somebody.

SPEAKER_04

I seen Kane Stream Media posted on Facebook today and said, I don't know who needs to hear this, but your dog's just not that good.

SPEAKER_01

They probably talk about me and my fucking dog, I'll be honest with you.

SPEAKER_04

I've seen a bunch of them, like Brendan Tony and uh a bunch of guys are real good coon hunters. Like, man, I feel targeted.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I should say that shit's all over me.

SPEAKER_04

Brendan Tony was in the finals of that hundred thousand dollar hunt that I went to a while back. He's got a great dog. He was in the top 16, you know. They may are the top, I don't remember what it was. I think might have been top 27 of that coon hunt, but like all like man, they all got good dogs. They're just like, I feel targeted.

SPEAKER_01

And you know, that's the thing, they got a good attitude about it. But there's somebody there's somebody out there right now say, Yeah, that's some bitch was talking about my dog, and just and and it's gonna keep them up at night. I'm sorry, but that shit ain't gonna change my life like that.

SPEAKER_04

First off, my dog is not a reflection of it. My dog is not a it's not it does not define who I am. No, just because I got just just because I got a better dog than you, Joey, don't mean I'm a better person or a better anything than you. Well, and I got lucky with a dog.

SPEAKER_01

Well, sure. And and that's the way I am. Like with with with my my white boy Rick dog. I've I literally get fucking haters now, you know. I get people talking shit, but then I have some that call, they're like, Man, how do I get a dog like that? I was like, you just gotta get lucky. I was like, because it there's not other ones like that. Like I have the and I literally said that not long ago. I said, I feel like I've got a goose in the hog in the in the the hunting side of it. Because it's like he's just natural, he does it, he does it very well, and he's he performs.

SPEAKER_04

I always said dogs uh great, like the greats, those 1% dogs, those are born. Those are born. They're not bright. I'm sorry, they're bred. They're bred, they're born, they're they're not trained.

SPEAKER_01

No, and the and 100% on that because like what I did with him, I carried him hunting. That's it. And I took him out of the fox pen field trials and put him on a hog, and that's what he does now. It was just like I looked, he just done what I want him to do.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and and you probably have done the same thing with with four or five hundred other. Oh fuck, a bunch of them. And they and they ain't turned out like that. Hell no. Yes, they are. I agree, I agree. They're not they're not they're not made. You know, so my my my biggest thing with I I truly think that there is more in hog hunting, there's more training involved in hog hunting. There's very, very little training in what I'm doing. Yeah. In my in in the world of this comp these dogs are bred and born. I'm not saying that you can't like all these puppies that you see that come on the scene and they're fucking, they're fired, they're doing great, they're looking great, and then they fade away. Yeah, it's because those those puppies were made. They're not they're not they're not natural. They were they were they were given all these opportunities, hundreds and hundreds of opportunities to get it right. They start getting it right at the right time at their life in their puppy stage. They do, they they're gonna show out and look good a couple shows, and then you're never gonna see them again. That is a made dog. That is the definition of a made dog. There's a lot of handlers out there that can that's got you know got a bae pen at their house and they're practicing and they're practicing and practicing, they're working these dogs. They're they're working with dogs that they're making. Yeah, I'm making them into what they are, and then they then they lose, they they fade away because that's not naturally who they are.

SPEAKER_01

And it has to be the natural side of it. It has to be. Yeah, to be successful. Like I was just saying, I I didn't bae my dog for a solid year, took him, he he won. Didn't bay him for another year, took him, he won. I've done that for the last three years, so that's not me working him or practicing or training him. That's his natural ability because he was born with it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's it, yeah. They're going to win. A natural dog's gonna win.

SPEAKER_01

Now I gotta come out there and now I gotta beat goose.

SPEAKER_04

A maid dog is gonna be is gonna win for a season. He's gonna win for a season and then he's gonna fade out.

SPEAKER_01

No, you I mean I've never heard anybody else really say that about the the bay pen stock. Uh generally they get real high up on what they've made, and and you know what I'm saying, and they don't want to reveal, like, hey, the truth. You know, they don't just say the truth on a lot of it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I mean, well, I mean, that I don't think they even know the truth. Well, I that's right.

SPEAKER_01

They might not even know. You're right.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they don't, they don't, they don't know what, you know, like they they always like people resort to oh, that dog was good, such and such fucked him up. You don't mean you fucked him up. He just didn't, he was he was he was made into what what you were making him into, but he wasn't that who wasn't who he was naturally, so eventually he turned to his natural Yeah, his what what what was natural to him. He started doing what was natural to him, and that wasn't the right thing to do. He had a season. And there's things that can happen that uh are completely out of your control in that arena that might change. You got nurture and nature, you know, you got what what you've given the dog, and then what happens to the dog that defines who he is. I can go out and call goose. That don't mean that I'm gonna get goose again because just because that's who he is genetically. I think if I had another one just like him, completely genetic, I'd have another uh I'd have a great dog, but I would never get that because I could never replicate what happened in his life to make him what it was.

SPEAKER_01

All the circumstances.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I mean like he he he was so athletic and gifted as a young dog, it kept him from getting hurt. It kept him from getting hurt. He was thrown in the fire from the time he was 10 months old until now. He's been thrown in the fire with the with in the on the baddest hogs that that that we've had to offer. But he was so much more athletic at a young age, he never seen him get touched. He I mean I I'm telling you, he was a three-year-old before I ever seen a hog touch again.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, and I I might be wrong. I I mean, but I'm he he never he never he didn't get hurt. I mean he never he never took a bad ass whooping until he was a three, four-year-old dog.

SPEAKER_01

I gotcha.

SPEAKER_04

And and he seen a bunch of them. So that that's but he is a he is gifted naturally. All these coon hunters uh they they got dogs that are made and they got dogs that are natural. Everybody's breeding for now.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, sir.

SPEAKER_04

You know, uh they like they I can I could probably hand a a dog to a really good handler and the dog not be all that, but that handler could go out and win a bunch of hunts with him and make him something. But he's that them them dogs fall off too. But them natural ones, them ones that are that are you know got careers that are where they've won half, you know, I think it's those dogs that put their belly on the tree.

SPEAKER_01

That's I I mean like I've noticed that you get a good tree dog that some bitch hugs that tree as hard as it can, and that's that you know, it just seems like it's a more natural thing to it, and then you get those that'll back up and you know they're looking up at the tree, they might bounce on and off of it, stuff like that. And I could be a hundred percent wrong. This is just from what I've looked at, mainly with the squirrel dogs. But you know, though those that really just get up there and they're foaming at the mouth and biting and and jumping and climbing, that like you can't teach that. Yeah, boy, you can't you can't make it into there, you know. The balance, yeah, yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we uh but yeah, that's that's a fact. I mean that's a fact. We just uh not na natural natural, you know, uh I mean hell, Uncle Pat, I mean me and him were just you know arguing the other day. Actually, for the first time we've actually agreed on with the like over the last probably six months to a year, we've agreed on almost everything. And then uh here lately we had a little argument over uh breeding. I dude, I I don't pay that. I don't I don't have no scientific data. I just tell you that uh when I breed two dogs, uh I'm breeding the best. I'm not breeding mediocre shit. I'm not gonna breed mediocre to to this and that, you know, and we talked about this, and it and it's simply just like for some reason uh these bay pen people, the people I compete against have gotten this idea that Goose isn't a producer. Well I've kept less than 20 of his puppets.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I've been asked that a few times about him being a producer.

SPEAKER_04

I've kept less than twenty. Well, he's a he's a great producer. Go ask all the people that's got him that's hunting him.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well, and that's my answer. My answer is I don't know from what everybody else is doing, but I mean the one the dog I have is a fucking hog dog.

SPEAKER_04

On a podcast a while back, I was uh I was talking about fanboy being Goose's brother. Yeah, well, come to find out, Fanboy ain't Goose's brother. I've always and I've told this from day one, but people only believe people only listen to what they want to believe. They don't listen to actually what they listen to what they want to believe, they don't care about what they're saying.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's right.

SPEAKER_04

Whatever they want, whatever they want to believe is what they're gonna hear, and that's all they hear. Because that's what they want to hear. But I had this conversation with Donnie. I said one time on a podcast I said Goose was his brother. Well, then I turned around and said he's his uh Goose was his daddy. Well, Goose is his daddy and his brother.

SPEAKER_03

Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. But but I bring I was I I when CJ got up there, especially when I got CJ was like eight or nine, like he was eight or nine when I got him. So he was real old. I mean, hell Wolfman and Goose are two years apart. That was the second litter, and I don't know for a fact that Wolfman ain't not a goose. Wolfman is probably there's a there's a real good high chance that Wolfman's got a goose as well. I just can't I ain't got I couldn't find the pictures in my phone to be to back up the evidence. But I did find the ones on Fanboy's litter because I bred I was breeding CJ to Bailey on April 29th and April 30th. I got pictures of them in my phone hung up on them days. And I bred Bailey to goose on May the 3rd. Well, I go back and I look and see when my puppies were born. They were born on July 5th. Pan Boy's birthday was on July 5th. Actually, I thought, hell today's the fifth, ain't it? That's his today's his birthday.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Today's the fifth, yeah. Yeah, so that's 62 days.

SPEAKER_04

That's exactly right. So you tell me who the daddy is. I mean, did they go?

SPEAKER_01

Did they did did that did Bailey go 67, 68 days, or did I mean they she could have, but generally they, you know, but fucking 60 to 62 is about what it is.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I there yeah. I don't have I don't have Bailey's Bailey's dead, CJ's dead. I have uh DNA on I mean I have I'm sorry, yeah, I I I do have DNA on Bailey, I do not have any on CJ. Although I do have them on both, I just don't know where the hell the uh CJ's DNA is, or where his record is. But even if I had all that, all I can prove that like the the it's just a it's a it's a DNA code. I can't I still couldn't I can get within like 70 something percent accuracy, but it don't matter. I know who the fucking daddy is. They can if they don't want to believe it, that's fine. Believe whatever you want. But as long as I'm breathing and I'm and I'm talking about it, I'm gonna tell you who fanboy's out of. And he's out of goose. I mean, that's what I believe because that's what the ev that's what the evidence in my phone showed me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean that's what a jury of your peers would go by. They'd be like, well, the evidence shows.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I promise you, if we had a if we were in court and I had and I with these documents, they would go, Well, yep, there you go.

SPEAKER_01

That's a that's exactly what we're gonna do.

SPEAKER_04

That's the only thing we can assume. We can't we ain't got DNA. The only thing we can assume is this.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. So speaking of court, I want to give a shout out to my daughter right quick. She graduated law school, she's taking her board exam. Yeah. What? That's right, bud.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't is she a is she is she in Louisiana?

SPEAKER_01

Because TJ needs a lawyer. She's she's in Illinois.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, she ain't licensed in the state of Louisiana.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, listen, uh that girl, she can get it wherever she wants to, I promise. You it wouldn't take her long.

SPEAKER_04

We need a licensed lawyer in the state of Louisiana.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I've got a daughter. I've got my oldest daughter's in Louisiana. And uh she a lawyer? No, she that's but she she might she might take care of it under the tape. You know what I'm saying? She's on the opposite end. She more she takes that for her daddy.

SPEAKER_04

I probably I need I probably need her assistance for that. I think at this point, everybody in the state of Louisiana, especially Vermillion Parish, is bought.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

They are bought, they're bought out. Like the judge, everybody. Like, you can't look at the evidence and think that I know that's ridiculous. And determine and determine what they've determined about TJ and this whole Remy situation. That's that's a whole nother element. It's it is beyond. I I when when it when I watch it firsthand, I can't turn away. I can't even not look at you know, like a lot a lot of times you can go to a bar, you can see a guy staring you down, but he ain't said nothing, so you can kind of ignore him and not and not pay him no mind and just and not no, I can't do that no more. Like they've already they've sparked my fire, they've they've done, they pissed me off. I can't not look away. I can't I can't turn another cheek. They arrested TJ for kidnapping his son. His son is sitting here. I got video of his son crying, not to go back to his grandma.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I see.

SPEAKER_01

That's the wildest shit.

SPEAKER_04

And all of a sudden they're gonna because uh grandma says TJ's bad, they you know, and the and the judge who the heck like they know somebody up there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because like where I'm at, once they hit 13, 14 years old, they can decide.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, in the state of Texas, they can at 12.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That don't make any sense.

SPEAKER_04

My son don't want to come over to my house. Guess what I can do about it? Nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Nothing, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I can't do nothing about it.

SPEAKER_01

I got a I I got a daughter, she's the same way. Like once she hit like 13 years old, her mama let her do whatever she wanted, you know. And so, and I was like, Well, that ain't gonna work like that, you know. And yeah, she she was one, she was like, Well, I'm I'm staying at mom's. I was like, Well, I mean, there ain't a whole lot I can do, you know. Uh I mean, I'm here if you need me. That's all I can do.

SPEAKER_04

It's been a freaking, it's been a uh that's been a whole nother uphill battle, and I I don't need I I at this point, like they've already that you know how like our government just does shit to you, and they don't even like they used they used to try to hide it back in the day. These people ain't trying to hide it. Yeah, they don't even try to hide it no more. They're like, hey, fuck you, I'm about I'm about to screw you over, yeah, and I'm gonna tell you, and and you're gonna like it. And there ain't nothing and they ain't nothing, and we're gonna do some corrupt shit, and and and we're gonna even we're gonna post it on Facebook. And and not and nobody's gonna do anything about it. That's that's how that that's where we're at. Like they don't care, they just do whatever they want, say it, and I'm like, oh my God.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, and I mean, who are you supposed to turn to?

SPEAKER_04

You know, like it's Yeah, you can't because they're crooked. The cops were sitting there, and I and the and that the Remy told the cops, he said, I'm not going back there. They're beating me. What do you what do you want? And and they said, We're taking you back. Well, he looks at him, I'm gonna run away. I'm not staying there, I'm not gonna go somewhere where where I don't feel safe. You can leave me here. He wanted to be left at a stepmama's. Leave me here, I'll be fine right here where I'm at. Just leave me here.

SPEAKER_03

That's wild.

SPEAKER_04

And they wouldn't do it. So they bring him back, the kid runs away, he tracks a ride to Texas, and now they want to arrest TJ for kidnapping his son.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that don't make any sense. That's crazy shit. Crazy.

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely crazy.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, yeah, this is beyond me. And that that shit happens more often than you think, than much than one would think, you know. Uh and it's honestly a lot of that shit can be bought pretty cheap. I know, you know, I I'm I know 100%. I know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I mean, like I'm telling you right now, I would have, I would or I'd been in prison. I'd have left somebody's house on fire. Yeah, I if somebody puts me in in that in in under that type of in that type of situation, I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna ruin my life.

SPEAKER_01

My my ex-wife was in Georgia, and I had full custody of my two of my two boys, Nathan and Luke. And uh they were Nate was real young then, and she had a sheriff from Georgia call me, and he was like, We're coming to arrest you. I was like, bro, you even know where I live at? He was like, Well, she's telling us now. I said, I live in Alabama, like I'm not even in Georgia, like I don't know what the fuck you think you're gonna do. Yeah, and and like, but they they were like, You're gonna surrender them right now. Then they had another, they had they called a police department over here, had them call me and threaten me. And I was like, bro, I all I can tell you is good luck. You know, don't shoot at the back part of the house because the kids are there, but it's gonna be that. I said you fuck around and come here, like we we're gonna have it all the way, we're gonna be on the news. And then nothing ever happened. That's what I told him. I was like, I mean, I already have my papers, I mean everything was done, completely done. Uh, but I'll be honest with you, it's mainly because I live in a small town and I know everybody. And like I said, a lot of stuff can those those people apparently know the right people, the right people in the right places, and but they're doing they're doing it some dirty shit. Because like I said, that that boy's over there crying, and I seen the videos. I I've talked to TJ some too, man. It broke my heart because I've been through it. Yeah, it's it's sucks. Absolutely. Absolutely. I can't I can't wrap my head around it. And what can you do? What what can you do? I mean, yeah, I don't I don't know what what else to do.

SPEAKER_04

Other than throw your life away.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I mean that that that's that I mean because they they have all the control.

SPEAKER_01

And then he'd never be able to see the sun, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. Uh he'll be looking there into a glass window.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, then it's it's a lose-lose deal, you know. So uh I hate that. They put him in a bad spot, man.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they did.

SPEAKER_01

And that and that boy, like, I mean, imagine all the things that he's gonna turn to if if it doesn't work out with his dad, and he's gonna act out more and more and more because he does want to be there.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's already, it's been like that. I mean, he's already you're already seeing that. I mean, he'll just look at it ticked up. That's right. You can tell that kid ain't got no instruct ain't got no discipline and no structure. That's right.

SPEAKER_01

And then they'll wonder they'll wonder what happened. Where where did we go wrong? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You know how that's I mean you just he's he's been a he's been a bull rider since he was what, eight years old and now he's He ain't got to go to a road he ain't spending no rodeos, ain't riding nothing, ain't doing any of that. All the all of the things that kind of melted the kid out, he's he's had to he's had to do without. Yeah. You know, but whatever. I mean I can't, you know. We go on and on all day.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. We we'll leave that alone. We all praying for him though. We we pullin' for him.

SPEAKER_04

That's right.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so we got uh so you got the shootout, you gonna you gonna get you gonna get a Scott. You gotta get Scott down there and get his get his going.

SPEAKER_01

We got we gotta get it going. We gotta do something.

SPEAKER_04

I don't I don't I think Mr. Wheat still got some. He's gotta get his stuff figured out and signed up because I he might be he might be a partner short on or something. He's trying to find a partner, but I told you, I said, man, just get your entry. You don't understand how things can change to this event. You know what I mean? Like something's gonna something's gonna open up. You know, I have an I I have an idea of what might happen, but after my first cast, I'm that all might change.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. Yeah, yeah. After you turn them loose, it's on them, but yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I mean, and and then it, you know, I mean, as far as going forward, you know, I mean, yeah, I might fanboy might get hurt, so all my other runs that I had playing with him, I might be having to hunt somebody else. So I'm gonna be looking for somebody that gets knocked out. Yeah. You know, that that that that that don't have another run.

SPEAKER_01

I've got I've got one dog out there that was actually it ain't my dog. It's but I'm I wish you could I wish you could watch him run. Yeah, y'all never I don't think y'all any of y'all have ever seen him. He's only he's only been run one time, I think, anywhere other than Oklahoma. And I'm telling you that that's the one that uh Nate got from Gene. Yeah he's he's out of uh that matador dog in Mercy.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, and I think I I think Gene's coming to this one too. I talked to him.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I'm gonna tell you that some bitch out there will fucking bae. And I mean, he looks just like gorilla. Or I I mean, look the way he does. He got that loose skin under his neck, hell he favors him. What I mean, I think there's out of a bunch of that stuff. That son of a bitch will put on a clinic, boy. I'm talking about. And Nate won't hurt. Nate's like, I'm not taking bae pens. I will. Nate can stay home, Nate can go chase these girls around. He's single, he's running up down the road. I'll take that something. Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_03

I thought he just got married.

SPEAKER_01

Well, he thought he did too for a little while. Hey, that's what he said. He said, Uncle Pat was right. He said, I got one of them damn running walkers. He said, Shit, I done went through my first wife. He said, Shit, it ain't looking good.

SPEAKER_04

It bees like that sometimes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if it is, son, it is. Now they got they wound up getting divorced, man. And hell, it would, it's I don't know. It's a long story.

SPEAKER_04

And we don't know what story they have a kid together?

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no children.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, well that's good. Yeah, that makes things a whole lot easier.

SPEAKER_01

And and they're all it it was civil, you know. It was just like, hey, that's it, it's over, move on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And so I think they've been they've been apart for almost a year now. And so, you know, yeah. He's got options though. Boys, he got some options. Right. But anyway, I might still I might steal his dog and break it on down.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, I think I think the way this one's gonna work out too, you know, you're gonna you'll draw out, uh, you'll draw out for your first early round, and then I think once we get to the top 16, because because we're gonna have multiple handlers, you know, with mul like, you know, you may have Johnny White may have two or three dogs in, and we'll uh, you know, get in, and and I may have two, and you may have two, you know. You don't want your same you don't want to like you don't want to be competing against yourself until you get to the final four.

SPEAKER_02

You know what I mean? That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Till it till the last, yeah. So it we're gonna probably have to draw out again and try to break that up where we're not gonna be, you know, firing against ourselves until until until we get to, like I said, like until you get to the final, you know, and then you'll go from there. But that'll be that's a that's a whole nother thing too. So it's gonna be it's man, this is gonna be the event that it's the event I think the whole band needs to to to really diversify and expand to where we can possibly get I mean, you know, like with with the coon hunt when we might get some of these coon hunt guys, hell they may go they may buy interest in a dog, you know what I mean? When it gets like that, that's that's I mean that's how that's how it got done in coon hunting.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, like you know, like we were talking earlier, I was like, you know, I've had I've had interest in in coon dogs and and several other dogs for for years, and I don't really do none of that. But it's a it's an avenue.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and and T TJ's out there looking for a partner too. He said he's got the 2025 gip of the year right now. That uh that is don't have that don't have a partner. Yeah, you you know you know who that gip is, huh?

SPEAKER_01

Cali.

SPEAKER_04

That's the one yeah, that's the one that that uh 12 and Cali won the old and young with.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. Yep. Hell yeah. Sure enough. Well man, that we got it going our way.

SPEAKER_01

I that's we can say I think it's gonna be a uh a heck of a damn deal there. We get this podcast out there, maybe maybe some of these coon hunters will start uh uh buy buy a couple entries, buy buy some entries in uh which we we've got a lot of guys at Coon Hunt that listen to us because you know we we're open, you know, we we do bear hunters, coon hunters, might lion hunters, whatever. Uh and so we we have a and the podcast has grown so much over the past couple years. Uh we're oh well over a hundred countries now. And I mean, just that's good. Yeah, it's it's growing and it's all organic growth. It's you know, it ain't none of the we ain't buying no clicks, no likes over here. Hell ain't got no money anyway. Shit, you know.

SPEAKER_04

I don't even know how you buy them then.

SPEAKER_01

I don't either buy a click. I I just try to keep from getting banned from and kicked off everything. That's my I just try to keep from doing that.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, that's a that's the hardest thing to do is to get away.

SPEAKER_01

But if we everybody if we keep calling everybody a bitch, then you know, I don't know, it might become sooner or later.

SPEAKER_04

If they a bitch and the shoe fits, wear it.

SPEAKER_01

That's all, lace it up.

SPEAKER_04

Lace that shit up. If you want to call and complain about the event and cry about this and cry about that, just quit. Just just just quit. Just quit and say, hey, I'm a bitch. I quit. I mean, that's all there is to it.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

That's it.

SPEAKER_01

All right, well brother. I think uh I I think for for sure. I think we'll fill these slots up once this gets out.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, this yeah, this is gonna feel anyway. It's gonna feel anyways. There's about eight, there's at least eight people that are trying that are that are right there on the cuff of trying to figure out what they're gonna enter before they come in.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say, hell, I've got a couple myself, you know. I gotta get figured out what I gotta do.

SPEAKER_04

You gotta you gotta put it like a deposit down and whatever, you know, so you can get you know to reserve your spot. Yeah, you know, and and and man, I'm telling you, if if they won't end, they need to go ahead and figure out what's the go ahead and get in. They don't you have to ask Jake. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, I got you. I got you.

SPEAKER_04

I haven't I haven't I don't I don't know what that is. I guess it's I don't know. I don't know if it's a quarter or a hit hook. There ain't no telling what he got. I gotcha. But he's he's taking deposits on his injury, so you know it might be a kennel deposit, so it might be something like that. Uh I put I I put I put mine in a long time ago and uh I just told him to take whatever the hell it whatever whatever's comfortable. I you know, I said I sit down eating lunch with him, and he's I said, Here's my wallet, because I mean you're gonna get it anyway. That's right. That's right. Just take whatever you need.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Yeah. Well, man, I'm glad uh glad you called. Glad we got to talk some more. I hadn't talked to you in a while, man. Glad everything's going good. Uh glad I'm really happy about this format. Because you know, we we've talked about it several times, and everybody talks about needing to change, needing to change. We need something new, we need this. Well, here we are. So I gotta agree with you. Either shut the fuck up and be a bitch, yeah, or come on and do it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Just get in and do it. Quit being a bitch.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and and if you don't want to do it, that's fine. But don't don't don't say nothing.

SPEAKER_04

Don't don't yeah, don't don't be negative about it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just don't say it.

SPEAKER_04

If you want to be a bitch, yeah, I mean, go go be go be a uh go be a bitch by yourself. Be a lonely bitch. Quit quit rallying the troops to be a bitch.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. We don't need an army of bitches.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's that's exactly what they're trying to build. Army of bitches.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

But yeah, I I mean, for the most part, man, uh the the the the it's all been most of it's all been positive. You only got a few better. Well, that's that's about 90% of our child talking about the 1%.

SPEAKER_01

That's a fact, brother. That's a fact. And we've got a lot of good folks. Well, like you said, 99% of them are great folks.

SPEAKER_04

That mean meeting green, meaning green Gene Reynolds coming back. He ain't been to he ain't been to Hogband.com in probably a year, year and a half.

SPEAKER_01

I was thinking to say, I I hadn't seen him in a couple years myself, but I hadn't been either. Yeah, I'm well I've been to Earl's, but I hadn't been to any of the other ones in the past two years, really. And uh hell, I drive down there just to see Gene.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. This was done sparked him to you know get to dig to try to dig himself back in.

SPEAKER_03

Hell yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh we're gonna we're gonna see. I I have a feeling we're gonna see some some uh some older, some some less familiar faces than what we normally see.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

I think I think it's gonna break bring out some people out of the woodwork. So I wouldn't be surprised, man, if uh a couple more from that side of the world. I think Lulu's gonna eventually get in this thing too.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh I I know I know she's trying to. I I know Lulu. She's gonna, she's she's always she wants to go. Yeah, she'll figure it out. She'll figure it out eventually. All right, my brother. Yeah, man. I'm gonna let y'all get back to it. I'm gonna have to put these dolls back out. It looks like it stormed and blew over. All right, my man. I'm gonna go put them back on their chains. So man, you need anything, you know how to call me.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. And I appreciate that too. Yes, sir. All right, man. We'll take care.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, sir. Take care, man.

SPEAKER_01

All right, buddy. Bye bye. Well, there we go. We're gonna do uh man, I was I was kind of tore up by that. I was like, I don't know if I'm gonna be able to do it or not. Uh, because I hadn't really been banging a whole lot or anything like that. Just staying, we hunt a lot and you know, working all the time. But I think I'm gonna have to I think I'm gonna have to make it happen. I gotta support it in some form or fashion anyway, whether I just send my dogs down there or whether I'm able to go myself. So hey, we appreciate y'all listening. Thank y'all for uh for tuning in as usual. Um y'all got any uh ideas for guests, and we've had a few people uh message and call about getting other guests on, and uh we'll freshen up, we'll freshen up with some new stuff. Man, we appreciate y'all, and uh until the next time we'll see you.
