This year the Mayor’s Manual joined the Reinventing the City conference of AMS Institute for innovative insights and fascinating conversations. We spoke to the attending front-runners about their solutions for urban challenges and their part in reinventing the city.
In our first two episodes we explored the nature-technology dichotomy in urban development and different approaches to urban development and the timescale of interventions. In this episode You’ll hear from Pepijn Duijvestein, who works to develop inclusive neighborhood level citizen engagement, from Sigrid Wertheim-Heck, who researches urban food systems in Asia, Africa and Europe, from Tjeerd Haccou who works to bring together and empower communities so that they can assume leadership over the design of their own living environments, from Ebru İşgüzarer-Önder who reflects on her personal experience with citizen engagement and lastly, from student Bibi Allessie, who is currently researching citizen engagement fatigue.
And, you’ll hear us, the Mayors Manual Editors, taking it all in and sharing some insights ourselves.
