Our goal is to provide you with relevant information related to youth sports safety through compelling interviews. There are many stories and topics to be shared that will benefit athletes, coaches, and parents as well as athletic trainers, physicians and healthcare providers. JSMP is dedicated to youth sports injury through awareness, advocacy, and prevention. Our episode features NBC Sports Medicine Analyst and well known physical therapist & athletic trainer Mike Ryan discussing critical issues regarding exercise and the heat. He will explain the Olympic preparations as well as practical advice for AT's, parents, athletes & coaches.
Mike Ryan is an expert in the Sports Medicine field. As a 26 year certified athletic trainer and registered physical therapist veteran in the National Football League (NFL), Mike has outstanding first-hand sports medicine experience in the fields of injury prevention, injury rehabilitation and performance enhancement of elite athletes. He serves as Sports Medicine Analyst to NBC Sunday Night Football and the recent Tokyo Summer Olympics
Besides an impressive professional resume’, Mike remains a highly competitive endurance athlete at 50+ years of age. This 6-time Ironman triathlete knows the value of a strong body and mind. Mike’s credibility and character start with his willingness to “practice what he preaches” to others. He recently published a new book "Foam Rollers for Dummies"
