Oppression, pain, slavery, and trauma are all a part of Israel’s story. In the midst of this pain God responds. We sat down with Dr. Isabelle Hamley and discussed how we can learn from Israel’s story and the Old Testament scriptures in regards to mental health. She answered questions around what the “good life” is, how the biblical text speaks to pain, and how to cultivate a holistic response to pain and trauma. We hope you enjoy our conversation.
