You Are A Fact
There aren’t many facts in this world that are as clear cut as this: You are a fact – an undeniable fact. You exist! That’s a fact, Jack!
It’s when we start interpreting that fact that we go off track.
We confuse the unvarnished you with the conditioned you. The raw you needs no interpretation. It’s whole and self contained. The conditioned you is subject to interpretation. It’s not a fact. In fact, it’s most often an illusion that we claim is a fact. It’s not.
When you start interpreting who you are, you stray away from the authentic you and start putting labels on yourself that are limiting. You limit your options as to what’s possible. You start believing you’re something that you’re not.
When you label something as a fact, it can’t be anything else.
For example, “I’m such a loser” is one of those limiting phrases that we state as fact. Yes, you may have lost several times. That’s factual. But the you who is at your core is not a loser or any other label you attempt to put on it. It’s unlimited and when tapped into offers you boundless options.
So how do we tap in? Find a mind quieting method that works for you. There are so many to choose from. Your method may be to take a walk, a shower, or a nap. Someone else may take a yoga class, practice some form of meditation, or pray.
Anything that takes you away from the thought machine will get you away from creating illusionary facts and into the quiet reservoir of inexhaustible options.
A day without reflection will be loaded with unverifiable facts – ones that will have you argue for your limitations. Take the time to let the “factual” world go away and immerse yourself in the real you – the one fact you can count on as being true.
