Life’s Poker

You don’t have to be a gambler to know that every day, you’re dealt a hand.

Some days, it’s a winning hand. Other days? Not so much. And here’s the kicker—you don’t get to choose the cards. Reality is the dealer, and the deck? Completely unpredictable.

That’s why the best strategy is simple: play the hand you’re dealt.

Think about it—what good does it do to pretend you’ve got pocket aces when you’re really holding a pair of twos? Wishing for different cards doesn’t change the game. Neither does hoping, visualizing, or even praying.

There’s only one way to move forward: play your hand.

Fighting reality keeps you stuck. Getting caught up in “why me?” won’t change a thing. But responding instead of reacting? That’s how you get to the next hand—and maybe, just maybe, to a winning one.

So here’s the bet worth making: Accept the cards, make your moves, and stop cursing the dealer. Because that? That’s never been a winning strategy.

All the best,
 John
