Resolve: Your Bravest, Yet Weakest Soldier

Let’s get real—it takes serious courage to decide to change. To draw a line in the sand and say, “Enough. This time, I’m doing it.” That’s not weakness. That’s strength.

But here’s the catch: resolve, as bold as it is, can only take the first step. It’s the brave soldier that charges into battle . . . but it tires quickly. And if we rely on it alone to win the war? We fall short. Over and over again.

Think about it—how many times have you been fired up to make a change, only to feel that fire fade when things get hard? The same old battle shows up, but you’re trying to finish the race with a sprinter’s burst. You may even declare that old standby; “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”

Legendary football Coach Vince Lombardi put that myth to bed when he said, “Fatigue makes cowards of us all.” Willpower can’t carry the whole load. And blaming yourself for not having more of it? That’s like blaming a match for not being a bonfire.

So what’s the solution?

Call in the reinforcements. There’s a deeper part of you—steady, powerful, and wise—that doesn’t rely on hype or hustle. It doesn’t shout. It doesn’t sprint. But it finishes. Asking for its assistance is best done by entering a quiet frame of mind. Make your request for help and then do whatever you do to allow your mind to quiet down. It's from this "deep sea of serenity" that solutions come bubbling up to the surface.

It’s not about pushing harder—it’s about partnering smarter.

Ask for help. Ask that deeper part of yourself—the part that shows up when you're calm, when you're still—to rise up and guide you. No ego. No drama. Just strength.

Because when you get quiet . . when you stop trying to force it . . . something amazing happens. Answers rise. Strength returns. You move forward—not with strain, but with flow.

So yes—start with bold resolve. Stand tall. Make your declaration.

But then—ask for help. Trust the process. And walk forward with a quiet power that doesn’t burn out . . .it breaks through.

You’ve got this.

All the best,
 John
