Between Your Thoughts

You’re a lot deeper than your name, your job title, or whatever ID number you’ve got on file.

You’re not a stat. You're not a bio. You're an experience.

The real question is: Do you want to talk about who you are . . . Or do you want to feel it?

Over the years, I’ve read a ton of books about the core of what makes us us. And I’ve noticed something: Some writers are what I call spiritual reporters—they’re good at describing the experience, breaking it down, analyzing it. Others? They own it. They live it. And when they write, you feel it.

The reporters keep you in your head. You end up thinking about YOU instead of feeling YOU.

But the ones who’ve lived it? Their words don’t explain. They point—to something deeper. And suddenly, you’re not reading . . . you’re experiencing.

YOU doesn’t live in your thoughts. YOU lives in the quiet between them.

That still space? That’s where YOU shows up.

When your mind settles down, something amazing happens. You experience YOU—not as a story, not as a role, but as presence.

Look, I love having a mind. It’s quite useful. But when it comes to feeling the real YOU, your mind’s more of a speed bump than a guide.

Are you talking about your life . . . or living it? Because talking is always one step removed.

We spend so much time narrating life, we forget to live it. And when’s the last time you really experienced another human being? Not their words. Not their persona. Them.

Usually, we talk past each other—two people speaking, neither deeply feeling.

I’m not saying stop talking. Just . . . take a moment and start listening to the space between the words.

That’s where YOU lives. That’s where we all meet. On that common ground.

One last thing: ME is not YOU. When you experience the difference, who YOU are becomes a lot clearer.

All the best,

John
