You’re A Figment Of Their Imagination

Who people “think” you are is a figment of their imagination . . . and yours.

The biggest lie, almost all of us believe, is that we are who we, or others, think we are.

You are not your thoughts, no more than your footprints are you.

Your conditioned personality is an impression you make on others that they believe is you. They also once believed in the tooth fairy . . . and so did we.

But we’ve outgrown many of those fantasy notions, but not the one that believes we are our thoughts. That one will hang around for a lifetime . . . if we let it go unnoticed.

Want to get in touch with that you? Start observing your thinking. Once you start to watch yourself think,  you’ll discover your mind has a mind of its own and is totally independent of who you are.

Who you really are is the quiet spirit that animates you – that invisible force that can’t be defined. And since we can’t define it, we claim to be something else: our thoughts.

Here’s something to get curious about: Who were you before you had the ability to think? That’s who we are for a lifetime.

You’re the observer of your mind. When you start to observe your thoughts, instead of engaging with them, they calm down and you enter a quiet awareness. It’s in that quiet that you’ll find you.

That you is your cauldron of creativity, and spending more time there not only delivers more calm, but more clarity and confidence.

Final thought: Use your imagination and pretend you’re not your thoughts . . . and you won’t be pretending.

All the best,

John
