Realizations Don’t Lead to Results

The Grasshopper dropped this one on me years ago: “If a realization doesn’t turn into an actualization, it’s just something else that you know.”

The unspoken challenge?

“So . . what are you going to do with that realization?”

At some point, realizations can turn into little statues on a shelf — trophies of insight that we’ve done absolutely nothing with. We just display them, as if to say, “Look how much I know.”

But what are we really doing with all that knowing?

We’ve got options.

We can act on what we've realized — and maybe change our own life.

We can share it, hoping someone else benefits.

Or we can just keep polishing it, admiring it — stroking our ego while it gathers dust.

So here’s a question worth asking: What realization do you need to take off the shelf?

Maybe it’s time one of them gets off its tushie and gets to work.

As you head into a new day, maybe take a moment to reflect — and act — on the realization that’s most ready to deliver results.

Because that’s how you give what you know a proper go.

All the best,
 John
