Best Personal and Professional Advice

Let me ask you something: What’s the best piece of personal advice you’ve ever gotten? And while we’re at it—what about professional advice?

If you’ve never really sat with those questions, now’s a good time. Just bringing old wisdom back to mind can stir something inside you—maybe a part of yourself that’s been gathering a few weeds.

Think back. When you first heard that advice, maybe it hit you like a lightning bolt—suddenly a hidden trail opened up. You cleared the brush, followed the path, and found yourself with a brand-new view.

But then life happened. Weeds grew back. The trail got harder to see. That’s normal. The good news? Just recalling that advice again is like pulling out an industrial-strength weed eater—you can clear the path and start walking it again.

I’ve gotten advice like that. The kind that really changed my direction. And yes, being human, I’ve drifted off course more than once. But every time I bring that wisdom back into focus, it works its magic—it gets me realigned.

Good advice doesn’t expire. It was solid back then, and it still holds up today. Sometimes we just need to dust it off, climb onto our mental John Deere®, and start plowing again.

All the best,
 John
