The Edge of Infinity
Infinity is one of those words everybody knows . . . but nobody can actually explain it.
It’s right there in the dictionary—it’s a noun, for God’s sake—and yet no one can tell us what it really is. Not a person. Not a place. Not a thing we can point to.
We’re told infinity exists. But we can’t prove it.
So if we don’t know what it is—or where it is—how could we ever travel to the edge of infinity?
I think I’ve got an answer.
You go as far as your imagination can take you. And that’s your edge of infinity.
Now—someone else’s imagination might carry them farther than yours. But they’re not any closer to something that’s, by definition, endless.
So what’s the point of going that far in the first place?
Because stretching your imagination stretches your ability to discover. It keeps you curious.
And curiosity . . . that’s the catalyst. That’s what moves people forward . . . well past the walls built by their own limiting beliefs.
When our beliefs harden . . . when they get set in stone . . . we get set in our ways. Our curiosity gets put up on a shelf, and collects dust.
And once that happens, moving toward the edge of discovery becomes almost impossible.
There are infinite discoveries still waiting to be made. But you won’t make many if your curiosity isn’t worth a penny.
All the best,
John
