SPEAKER_00Hi. I'm Rob. Tale number fifty-four. Sauce. I was driving home from work late one night. It was probably one in the morning. And I had never eaten dinner, so I decided to go through the drive-thru at Taco Bell. I pulled up to the menu, a voice from the speaker box asked me for my order. I told them I wanted two potato tacos. And they said, Would you like any sauce with that? And I always forget what the spiciness levels of the sauces at Taco Bell are. And so I said, What kind of sauce do you have again? And she said, mild, hot, and fire. I wanted something spicy, but not something too spicy. So I said, Can I get a couple packs of each of them? And then I heard a long deep sigh. And then the voice said, Drive around. So I drove up, and I paid, and then they handed me a bag, and I grabbed the bag. It weighed at least two or three pounds, a lot more than the two tiny tacos that I had ordered. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I put it in my passenger seat without looking inside and headed home. As I drove to my apartment, I stuck my hand in the bag, and all I could feel was packets of sauce. I thought they had forgotten my tacos, but when I got inside, I dumped the bag out on my kitchen table, and the tacos had just been buried beneath all the sauce. I had never seen so much sauce. I ignored my dinner and started counting the sauces. Seventy-six packs of sauce. Mild, hot, fire. More sauce than I could ever use. If I had opened all the sauce packets up and poured them into a bucket, it would have been about three cups of sauce. That's a lot of sauce. 76 packets of sauce.
