A Conversation with Leaders in Healthcare
In July 2020, Dr. Alison Green, chair of UWF's Global Hospitality and Tourism Management Department, facilitated a roundtable leadership lesson where the discussion about effective leadership was continued.
During this roundtable, the participants that contributed to the discussion were seven leaders within the healthcare industry. Dr. Richard Fountain, Dean of the UWF College of Business, was also present in the discussion. The six leaders that were present during this leadership roundtable discussion were:
- Bill Bailey, President/CEO of Cenikor Foundation
- Dr. Garry G. Banks, Private Practice Owner
- Mark Faulkner, President/CEO of Baptist Health Care
- Dr. Allen Litvak, Jr., Owner of Coastal Orthodontics
- Gay Nord, CEO of West Florida Hospital
- Dr. Adam Principe, CEO of Select Specialty Hospital
- Dawn Rudolph, President of Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola
Questions that were addressed at the roundtable include:
- What leadership traits and experience helped you when you were preparing for the uncertainty of the pandemic?
- We have never seen anything like what is happening with regards to the pandemic. Are there lessons learned regarding leadership that we can apply going forward?
- What type of communications plans did you find helpful?
