Brother Andrew explains that to become a great leader, they must be a trusted servant
Thank you, ma'am. If everyone will stand, we're gonna be in Romans chapter 8, starting in verse 29. For whom he foreknew before the foundation of the world he picked you. So you are who he's talking about here. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined.
unknownCome on.
SPEAKER_00To be conformed to the image of his son. Not an image, not a similar image, the image, conform to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom he predestined, these he also called. And whom he called he also justified. And whom he justified, these he also glorified. Before the foundation of the world, he predestined you to look as a spitting image of Jesus Christ, so that we could be brothers in the body. And in doing so, he called us out of darkness, out of sin, and into union. And he justified us. It is not through our works that we're justified, it's through faith and grace and mercy of Jesus and God the Father that we are justified. And in that we are glorified. He did it all. Before we even had a breath in our lungs, he did it all. And we just get to walk it out in glorious union with him, doing all kinds of crazy, weird things. He works behind the scenes. It's just amazing to see the Lord work. And you just you just long to see it again. With me. Just a bag of bones that he picked before I was even a bag of bones. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. There are going to be QR codes as Brother Andrew comes up here. There is a tithe box in the back. There's a tithe box up front. So seeds because we're anticipating a big harvest. The Lord already has planned it. Sir? Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_02I thought you were teaching tonight.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_02Oh, maybe it's Pastor Glenn. Here he comes. Hallelujah. Well, I'm excited. You probably never would have guessed that. You probably never would have guessed that. Oh, I've lost my wife. She's not in here. Knowing her, she might have slipped in there with the children. See, I knew it. There she is. She slipped in there with the children. All right. Who knows what she was doing? It's always up to something. Y'all go ahead and be seated. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Amen. Man. So we're going to continue where we were last Wednesday on servant leadership. And I mean, it's it's becoming way more than that. That's what happens. But I like it. I like it. I want to read something that I wrote. I don't remember when I wrote this, but I felt like it was fitting for tonight. I wrote, as I've continually studied this out, I have found that with an understanding of the patristic foundation that the early church possessed and understood, metanoia carries a far richer meaning than what is often conveyed by modern concept of repentance. The church fathers viewed metanoia not merely as sorrow or sin or a change in behavior, but as a profound transformation of the mind, the heart, and perception, a reorientation of the entire person toward the reality of God. It was understood as an awakening to truth, the restoration of the image of God within humanity, and the gradual participation in divine life. Menanoia was not about earning God's favor through remorse, but about being liberated from distorted ways of thinking and seeing. So that one could behold God rightly and in beholding him become transformed. Transformation comes from beholding Him, seeing Him, and seeing Him rightly. A realization that we have never been outside of His love, purpose, or presence. In this sense, metanoia becomes the awakening to the reality of pericuresis, the eternal communion and divine dance of love shared with the life of the Trinity, into which humanity has been graciously drawn through Christ. We were never asked to set out of the dance. Rather, our blindness kept us from recognizing that the invitation had always been ours. It is the journey from illusion to reality, from fragmentation to wholeness, from the consciousness of separation to the revelation of participation, communion, and beloved identity. Through this lens, metanoia becomes less about punishment and more about healing, less about condemnation and more about restoration into the fullness of what humanity was always intended to be in Christ. And I know that's that's a lot. And that's not lost on me. And the Lord, the Lord is helping, is helping me help people. Amen. And I know that as much as this is a prophetic circle, as much as this is an identity circle, this house is also a theological circle. And a lot of times what what we have done is in the church is we have theological minds that set in bodies or houses, and they spit out words, and most of the room doesn't have a clue what they just said. And then somebody else that has a theological mind spits out more words that most of the room doesn't have a clue what they just said. And that's not what was intended for the body of Christ. And so I understand that I just said a lot of things that you you may not fully get. S-U-B-S-T-A-C-K. Okay. There's an app for it. If you don't have a there's a computer uh website for it. Whenever I read something up here, I'm gonna post it on there so that you can go and look at it. Because I want to make it available. And not everybody's Facebook friendly, not everybody likes Instagram. Substack is like subscribing or picking up a newspaper and reading it. It's just a bunch of writings. That's it. And so I think it's a safe space for people to actually have access to a lot of things that I'll read up here that'll also bless the body of Christ. And so I'm gonna try to be really intentional about making it. And if you see me not post it, just call me out on it. Just come up and say, Brother Andrew, you said you were gonna post it on Substack, and I never seen it. I want to just do it just like that. And I'll apologize to you, repent, and we'll post it. Because I want you to be able to not only hear what I just said, but to go back and read what I said and to study it out. You know what does patristic mean? What is pericuresis? What is metanoia? What is ontological? What are these words and how do they fit in? Because we we can't sit in the body of Christ and give permission for us to not know if it's being made available for us to know. And and largely what we've done is we we've created platforms where you have the minds with the microphone and you have the followers sitting in the seats that never become the minds. We we need more minds in the body of Christ. We need people that are being pulled into the understanding of their ontological state, which is a it's a fancy way, it's a theological way of saying pulling you back into your original intent, your original state, the way that God created you to be. Okay and and so I want to make that available, and so I'm gonna do that. But if you don't, if you don't get on there and and and find me and and subscribe to that, it's it's it's totally free. All of this will be um, you know, you're you're in charge of your own oil. You're in charge of your own hunger. Um, I can I can help lead you in the right direction, I can make things available, but it's it's much like feeding our kids. We can put food in front of them, but they gotta eat it. If they don't eat it later on, they're hungry. I'm hungry. Well, you should eat your dinner. Right? And so I want to I wanted to share that writing because I've taught a lot about metanoia, and you've heard that word a lot. Some of you all are newer and you haven't heard it a lot, but there there's I never stop studying these words. Never. Ontology. I'm never gonna stop studying it because I've only I've only scraped the surface. Uh the understanding of pericuresis, I'm I've only touched the surface. And if we go, well, those words aren't for me, I don't need those fancy words. We're denying the deeper understanding of God. We we've got to step in, and your level of understanding might be more or less than somebody else's. It's not less or more in the eyes of God, it's what he's called you to. And and I think that as we're doing all of these, all these Wednesday nights, that's that's the heart posture. I I need a metanoia. I I need not only to think different, but to be rewired to my original intent of thinking. His ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts because we haven't fully allowed ourselves to be grafted into the way that he thinks. And and when we, as we're on these journeys, like we we've got to understand that there's there's supposed to be such a transformation from being close to him that we see the sick healed the way he saw the sick healed. This we see wholeness the way he saw wholeness, that we see deliverance take place the way he saw deliverance take place, that we're rejected the way he was rejected. I know you wanted all the good stuff, right? Now we start talking about being rejected. I don't know if I want that. But Paul did. He said that that is the greatest thing that I could get. And so I want to I want to continue down the same vein, but I wanted to define metanoia because there's something about taking the time to represent something again. Because when when we bring something that's been taught before back to the surface again, it's an invitation to step back into it and have that very thing take place in your life again. If we're not talking about metanoia, you can't step into metanoia. We we got to be constantly representing and presenting the ability for you to put on the mind of Christ. Okay? Everybody good? So we're gonna start. I'm gonna start in John 15 4. He says, Abide in me, and I in you. And we gotta stop. Because we've we've read this verse and we come away with this. We gotta abide in him. I I need to abide in Christ. I'm gonna abide in him. We we come away. Abide in me is I and I in you is the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in me. And we come away and we go. The primary focus is us making sure that we're abiding in him. And it's wrong. It's completely wrong. It's not the primary focus, it's a response. The primary focus is that he abides in us. Before the foundation of the earth, he picked us. We were but yet sinners, Christ died for us. This is first love that he loved us. Not that we loved him, not that we came to him, not that we were drawn to him, not that we chose him, he chose us. And you start understanding that beloved identity is not greasy grace to do nothing, it's to live from what's already been done. And my union will birth, will birth this understanding because when I live in union with him, obedience becomes delight instead of works. I delight in obeying because I come from union. But when you're when you're obeying to get union, it becomes works and you're never fully satisfied because you're performing to get somewhere that you've already been delivered to. And he said, the first thing he said, I abide in me, and we go, that's what he said first, so that's what we need to do. He said, and I in you. If he said, if I be lifted up, I'll draw all men unto me. Not if you're lifted up, if I'm lifted up. We can't be seated in heavenly places unless we first understand that he abides in us. Because our only entrance into the kingdom of heaven is through Jesus Christ. But it's not through Jesus Christ like us getting into him, it's understanding that he got into us and therefore we are in him. And by us not understanding that he's in us and we're in him, we now have access to everything that he has access to because I don't stand before the Father is just Andrew. I stand before the Father is Andrew inhabited with Christ. It's Christ in me, the hope of glory. The access to the manifestation of glory is understanding that the reason I have access is because the manifester is inside of me. The creator of all things is inside of me. So abide in me and I in you. I read it this way: if you'll focus on the fact that I'm in you, abiding in me will be easy. Because now your focus is Christo Supreme. It's Christ above all. It's understanding that my eyes have to be locked on his. Equal access. Because we're his. How do we get free from sin? If your eyes are locked on him, you're not looking at sin. You can't step into what you're not beholding. And if you're only beholding him, that's what you'll step into. And the more, the longer that you look at him, it's kind of like I don't know if you I I grew up and we had the kaleidoscopes, you'd look through it and you would twist it. And when you first looked at it, that was pretty cool. But the longer you looked at it, the more you started to see. And then you started sit to see beyond the kaleidoscope and the colors, and you could actually see the room on the other side through the lens of the kaleidoscope, and everything began to change. It was ever changing because the more that you and imagine that with an infinite number of colors and an infinite number of patterns, and now we have what it's like to look at Christ. Because the longer we look, the more that we get to be transformed in our seeing, and we start seeing the world through his lens and not our own. Now everything looks different. So now I don't see the world the way you see the world. I don't see trouble the way you see the trouble. I don't see problems the way you see problems. I don't see situations or circumstances the way you see it. I don't see sickness the way that you see it. I see it as an opportunity for the glory of God to be manifested. Which is the purpose of which we're existing, is that Christ in us, the hope of glory, glory being manifested, is the revelation of Jesus Christ coming out of us. That's you too. Not just me up here at the microphone. You don't get to take a day off either. We don't get to go on vacation from Jesus. When you go to the beach, he goes with you, and you're supposed to bear witness to the light that's inside you. You can't help but talk about the light. Because once you've seen it, you can't look away. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself. Where's the branch? It's connected to the vine. But being connected to the vine is not enough. You have to abide in the vine as he abides in you. But before the branch could ever think the vine, the branch started the van, the vine started growing the branch. You understand what I just said? You didn't even know which way to grow, which way to go. He started growing you, anyways. You didn't know what fruit you were going to bear. He just started producing, anyways. He started producing in you. From the beginning of your life, there was a holy hunger being stirred up inside of you that only he could satisfy. And there's things around you in your life that awaken those hungers or stifle them out. But it doesn't matter because he never looks away. He's coming after you whether you want him to or not. Because he's already claimed you as his. You only end up in hell by denying that you're his. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine. I'm growing you, but fruit comes by you looking at me. That's what he's saying. You're growing, anyways. But by looking at me, you'll produce fruit. Not by trying to grow fruit, by just looking at me. So neither can you, unless you abide in me. I'm looking at you, but the fruit that you're desiring. Only comes from you looking at me, desiring only me, lifting me up above all things. So now your response from an ontological state when things get rough is not to look at what's rough, it's to look at him. You easily go to the disciples in the boat, and Jesus is asleep on a pillow. Jesus is asleep on the word. He's abiding in the truth. He's showing them you need to rest on what's real, don't look at what's loud. And they're mesmerized by the storm, losing their mind. They're lifting it above truth, which brings them to a lie. Do you not care? We're about to die. And you're asleep. You have little, and then you have little faith. Where is your faith? And we hear that. Well, we should have believed enough to make the storm silent. That's wrong. You've got to be able to quiet your own storms. No, I don't. He shuts the storms down. That's why we've been teaching faith is a lens, an eye, a perspective of a way that you see the world. What was he saying? He was saying you were looking at the wrong thing. You didn't have the ability in the midst of the storm to turn and stare only at me, understanding that if I'm in the boat, surely it will not sink. Hello? See, the command in this is not to perform, it's to remain. It's to get locked on. It's one of the songs that we that we love. I'm not moving on to the next thing. I'm staying fixed on this one thing. And we've made this mistake in the church that we need to be a biblically deep church. But that means we can't be a radically worshiping church. Or if we're a radically worshiping church, then we can't be a biblically deep church. Y'all know what I'm talking about. If you like worship, go to that church because they got really good worship. Come on, you've heard this stuff. If you want to go deep in the word, go to this one. We're supposed to have all of it. Like we're not going to get to heaven one day and go, well, there's a circle over there of worship, but over here there's a circle where they go deep in the word. So you know, sign up for over here from Monday to Wednesday, but then come over here for, you know, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and Sunday, you can have your break because that's the Sabbath. No, it's all of it. Like we have to be a radically worshiping church that is worshiping from a depth of the word that no eye has seen nor ear has heard. Because now we know what we're worshiping. We understand that our ontology was an existential state to where our worship was perfect in his sight, and now all things flow from his sight. So now I come to worship and I'm worshiping him, not worried about who's in the room. I'll worship, but I'm waiting for my favorite song. When that comes on, I'm gonna let loose because I know the words. Come on, we've all done it. We've all and we all still do it. We'll worship, don't get me wrong. You work, some of y'all worship through all the songs, but when that one comes on, it gets lit. It's extra dancing, and man, we know the words, so we're singing louder. And if you don't put words on the screen, nobody will sing. Because they don't know the words. It's never about the words, it's about him. It's about worshiping him, it's about talking to him, telling him that he's holy, telling him that he's worthy, understanding this is the reason that I'm here. To magnify you. I came to step back into my ontology in my original state was to be doxological and worship you. David writes, One thing I have asked from the Lord. I preached on Sunday, I preached on David, and I'm still stuck on David. Outside of Jesus, he might be my favorite. David, one thing. You could say the only thing I have asked from the Lord. And the only thing that I'm gonna seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. And we go, he was talking about heaven. How could that be when he's not dead when he writes it? In all the days of his life. We made salvation about dying and going to heaven. And there are really two salvations. You have the salvation where you prayed the prayer and you gave your life to Christ. And then you have the salvation of when you die and you're going to go into eternal glory. Those are the two salvations. But we're going from glory to glory. When you prayed the prayer, that was glory. When you die and go to heaven, that'll be glory too. What about in between? It's supposed to be glorious. You're supposed to dwell in the house of the Lord. You exist from the house of the Lord. You exist from beholding the Lamb constantly. The eye is the lamp of the body. What you see, what you are entertained by, will enter you, and if you're beholding the Lamb, he's getting in more and more. Say more. I don't know if anybody in here is satisfied with how much Jesus they got, but I'm not. I need more. Someone keep looking at him. The elders crash cast their crowns and they cry out, holy, holy, holy, and then they pick them up and they throw them down again. And the reason why is because by the time they say holy, holy, holy, pick them up to put them back down, he's done something worthy of them casting them again. It's the greater manifestation of the revelation of who Jesus Christ is. He's so much more than the man that died on a cross and rose from the dead three days later. He's so much more than the man that walked on the water. He's so much more than the man that raised Lazarus from the dead. He's so much more than the man that was resurrected and was still man enough to eat fish, but still spirited enough to walk through the wall and eat it with him. He's so much more than what we know about him.
unknownYes, the Lord.
SPEAKER_02When people go, I wonder, do you know him? The answer is no. I don't. Not in comparison to what I want to know. Well, we I know Jesus. Just start telling people you don't. So you're not saved. No, I'm saved. Well, you said you didn't know Jesus. There's a whole lot more to find out. Every time I look at him, there's more. Every time I behold him, I'm transformed. And if I'm continually being transformed, then there's got to be more that I haven't seen. There's many things he longs to tell us, but we simply cannot bear to hear them yet. How do we get to the point to where we can hear them? How does that transform? It comes from beholding him. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To this is why he wants to be there. Not so he can have victory in battle, not so he can have a great kingdom.
SPEAKER_01To behold the beauty of the Lord. To behold the beauty of the Lord.
SPEAKER_02I remember when my son was born, and I thought he was beautiful then. But I look at him now, and he's more beautiful now than he was then. Because I'm discovering who he is. I'm experiencing him in a different manner as he grows. I'm going to experience Christ in a different manner as I grow. David was saying, if I can, this is what I want. If I could, I'm only asking one thing. I could come into your house and stay forever. Not so I could have the blessings of being in your house. Not so I could have the benefits of coming from your house. Not so I could have the power. Not so I could have dunamis. Not so I could have miracles, signs, and wonders, not so I could have intimacy that was tangible, not so that my shadow would heal the sick.
SPEAKER_01I want to be there so I can keep looking at you. And then to meditate in his truth. Temple.
SPEAKER_02I wanna, I don't want, I don't want to just glance at you. I want to stare at you in such a way that it looks like meditation. I want to get so lost in you that all the outside noise disappears. I'm continually being transformed by being in this meditated state of beholding the Lamb.
SPEAKER_01David is reducing his entire life to one pursuit.
SPEAKER_02Presence.
SPEAKER_01Everything else became secondary.
SPEAKER_02Moses said, we will not go up from this place unless your presence goes with us. And we went, presence is an atmosphere. Presence is is this feeling, this goosebump that comes. Presence is the person of Jesus Christ. We're not moving unless your person goes with us. Who you are. Moses was real like it gets real dangerous for the flesh the longer that you linger into this. Because anywhere his person is, the flesh dies. What Moses is really saying, it's been rough walking through this wilderness with you. They're all grumbling and complaining. You're bringing things out of me that I didn't even know were there continually just by me being with you. But if you don't go with us, I'll stay right here. Because I want continual transformation as I behold your beauty. Let me see your glory. But it'll kill you. That's what scripture teaches us. And then Moses goes, I don't care. I want it anyways. And then God loves him enough in mercy that says, Here's what I'll do. I'll hide you in the cleft of the rock. I'll hide you in Jesus so that you can see me through him. But you only get to see my backside as I leave. I'm going to walk by and as I turn, you'll get to see my backside. But you can only handle that by being hidden in Christ. We have done like the church, we've made it about assignments. Come get your calling. Come get a prophetic word so you know what you're supposed to do. Come find out who you are so you can walk out what God wants you to do. We've made it about assignment first, but Jesus started with presence. Luke 10, 38, verse 42, it says, Now as they were traveling along, he entered a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister called Mary who was seated at the Lord's feet. The word seated is easily exchanged with abiding. Mary was abiding at his feet. Listening to his word. Only say what I hear the Father say. She's listening to what the father is saying. You hear what I just said? You want to know what God is saying? Get to the feet of Jesus. And don't just get there, stay. It's possible to hear God all the time. But it's only possible by living at the feet of Jesus. Because you can only hear the Father through the Son. Listening to His word, listening to Him talk. Mesmerized. She doesn't have a clue what else is going on in the room.
SPEAKER_01She she and it but Martha was distracted. She was distracted with all of her preparations.
SPEAKER_02And she came up to him and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone?
SPEAKER_01Then tell her to help me. Pastor Don says this.
SPEAKER_02And there's nothing wrong with preparing. There's nothing wrong with doing and producing. But it has to come from a place of setting at his feet. Because when you start doing it outside of him, it starts to bring a complaint against the brethren. It becomes the accuser of the brethren. Mary's setting and listening to what he says. Martha is upset because she's doing something he never asked her to do, and she comes and says, You need to listen to what I'm saying. Look at what my sister is not helping me do. But the Lord answered, This is mercy. He could have gone on, he could have totally ignored her. But he has mercy. And he said, I love it that in the NASB, he says her name twice. Martha, Martha. And we think, oh, he's scolding her. No, he's reminding her who she is. You are mine and I know you. You're back there preparing to try to make me notice you, but I've never looked away from you. I've always seen you. I've always held you. I've always been satisfied with you. Stop trying to measure up by what you can prepare. You're waried. He's hitting her so hard right there with love. Because you're living from self and what you can produce, it's producing wary. And you're bothered by so many things. You're so focused on fixing so many things. It's producing wary and it's bringing division between me and you, and I simply just delight in you. You're worried and you're bothered by so many things. But only one thing is necessary. And he's not, the next line is not to shame her or to compare her. Because we've done that. We've taken the scripture and went, don't be Martha, be Mary. I think you could be either, and he still turns to you. It's not about being Mary or being Martha, it's understanding that when he speaks, I respond. And no matter where I'm at, he's gonna speak. The question is not, is he gonna speak? The question is, are you gonna listen when he does? For Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her. All of these things that you're worrying about, he's giving her revelation. You're so focused on preparing. You're wearying and you're bothered by so many things. But all of those things that you're preparing, that you're worried about, that you're bothered by, they will be taken away. You're spending time instead of investing it. The thing that you need to only be focused on is me. Because I will last forever. I am the bread that came down in the wilderness. I sustained them then, and I'll sustain you now. But you have to come to me daily. See, Martha, Martha had ministry, but Mary had presence. Mary had his face. Not because we're low and we have to set at his feet. Because when you set at his feet, you got a perfect view to stare at his face.
SPEAKER_01You can just hear everything that he's saying.
SPEAKER_02And if he looks a direction, you know which way he's looking. You can behold him better by looking up. Jesus calls only one thing necessary.
SPEAKER_01Acts four thirteen.
SPEAKER_02Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men.
SPEAKER_01That's me.
SPEAKER_02They observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood they were stupid. That's what they're saying. They were uneducated, they were untrained, not qualified to be preaching the gospel that they're preaching. What the enemy meant for evil, God will work for the good of those that love him and called. They looked at him, they said, they're stupid. They're uneducated, they're untrained. And the very next thing they were amazed. I don't understand how you're saying what you're saying. I don't understand how you're doing what you're doing. I'm amazed. And the only thing that makes sense and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. Not trained by Jesus. Not disciples of Jesus. Not taught by Jesus. They had simply been with him you got to teach me. No. Just be with him. You got to train me no just be with him. How do you plant a church? Be with him. How do you raise the dead? Be with him. How do you open blind eyes? Be with him. How do you find out your calling? Be with him. How do you love people? Be with him. How do you be a good father? Be with him. How do you be a good husband? Be with him. How do you be a good mother? A good wife? You be with him. And then people will recognize you as untrained and uneducated, but they'll be amazed because they've never seen anybody move like you. And the only response they can go is they must have been with Jesus. What they were saying was the presence was evident on their life. They couldn't deny it. Because here here's here's what I know. If you get around someone that trains somebody else they spent time with them and then you see someone years later or you or you know someone and someone is is spending a lot of time around somebody and then you get around them years later you're going to recognize the person they've been with inside of them. You're going to see something distinctive. It's what I tell my spiritual sons and daughters you're you're not called to be me but you will look something like me. Not because I need people to look like me. It's just part of the process. Paul said follow me as I follow Christ he said what qualifies me to be leader is that I'm a good follower. And you're going to look more like Jesus by following me not because I'm good but because he's good. And the goodness of God will get on you if you follow someone that's abiding in the goodness of God. I know people hate the prosperity gospel I don't I don't like being poor so I don't know I say amen to a prosperity gospel. I don't need a jet I don't need a plane but if I need one I think God will give me one and I think it'll make people mad and I like that it'll make them mad. But you you want you want the goodness God overflowing in your finances get around someone that the goodness of God is already overflowing in their finances. And then fix your heart where it's wrong where you're judging critiquing and then you will flow from abiding in that understanding of who Jesus Christ is and it'll get on you. It happens I'm doing great I got 10 more minutes I feel like he stretched time tonight. I love it. I was telling the Lord last week I don't feel like I got enough time Lord you need to help me he's faithful I already feel like I said twice as much as I did last week. John 15 or John 1515 No longer do I call you slaves. I love that no longer do I call you slaves. So it actually means at some point he did if he no longer is calling us that at some point he did. No longer do I you you've been transformed you were slaves to sin. You don't understand the power of that statement you were in bondage in in this script in those those first couple of words he's saying freedom you were a slave and I called you that because of what you were in bondage from but I'm telling you right now you're free no longer do I call you slaves because when you were in sin you couldn't see or hear what the master was doing. But I call you friends for all things all things that I have heard from the Father I have made known to you kingdom fruit doesn't come from effort it comes from union the disciples throughout throughout the Bible they were not merely learning Jesus they were learning the Father through Jesus by being with him they were with God a child that is present with a father cannot be an orphan a child that is seated in heavenly places cannot reach for what's already been given they they were learning the Father through Jesus John fourteen nine Jesus said to him so long with you and yet you have not come to know me Philip he who has seen me has seen the Father how can you say show us the Father how can you say he's he's calling out the orphan spirit in Philip right here you're reaching for what I've already gave you you're asking to see something I've already shown you you're asking to hear something I've already said Jesus came to reveal the Father John 173 this is eternal life that they may know you eternal life is not heaven eternal life is knowing him this is eternal life that they may know you not the only God because there's many gods but the only true God and Jesus Christ he's talking about himself whom you have sent he's downloading a key piece right here it destroys the mantra of religion it destroys this identity that we've had of this wrathful vengeful father that had to beat one son so badly so we didn't have to be beat any longer and that's what religion taught us but right here John 7 Jesus Christ whom you have sent why am I here? Because the Father sent me the father sent me to be the because we we have we have limited the deity of Jesus Christ because we've separated them God beat the son so he didn't have to beat us but if Jesus is God and God beat the son then God beat himself he didn't beat he didn't beat Jesus he didn't beat himself he beat sin to death he put on he put on the fullness of sin and let it get beat until it died now sin has no legal right to be alive in you because it died with Christ and never resurrected he he took captivity captive he descended because that's where sin goes but he was resurrected into righteousness and holiness and brought back all of the captives with him it's a weird thing loved ones had their their dead ones knocking on their doors been dead for years and you open it up there's Abraham that's weird there's there's Uncle John he'd been dead for 20 years what are you doing here you're not going to believe this we were down there and then this dude shows up clothed in sin when he when he raises up down the sin falls off of him he grabs Satan by the neck and starts dragging him around rips the keys away from him parades him in front of all the demons and then comes to us and says these are mine and then I'm here I got two minutes we can do one more Romans eight fifteen I'll never make it through this no longer do I call you slaves no longer do I call you slaves I did at one point but whom the Son sets free is free indeed then Paul's addressing it with Romans for you've not received a spirit of slavery why are you putting on what's been dealt with who lied to you and made you believe something less you've not received you've not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again but you've received a spirit of adoption you're present with the father remember what I said if you're present with the father you can't be an orphan you've been grafted in as sons by which we cry out Abba Father and we hear that we go amen no no what he's saying is you have contractual right to call him father you have covenant right to call him Abba that means I'm supposed to stop the destination of redemption is sonship. The entire gospel can be summed up in one word redemption restoration the whole point of it is sonship not just forgiveness if I could just get forgiven stop worrying about getting forgiven just be a son just be a daughter because if he welcomes you into his home you're already forgiven it's the prodigal son hush robe shoes ring feast in your honor the fatted calf why because you came home Lord I thank you for this truth Lord I thank you that separation consciousness has to die. Lord I thank you that your truth sets the captives free. I thank you Lord that every word that I've that I've preached tonight Lord was a divine utterance from your lips Lord I speak over the minds of every person in this room and every person watching online or that ever will watch and I say be free be whole in Jesus' name Lord we bless you Holy Spirit we love you we recognize you as Lord come and do what you do and reveal Christ in Jesus' name bless y'all stop
