Welcome back to a new episode of the Johnny's World Podcast. I am BW here with my co-host Johnny. Johnny, it's Florida week. How are you doing today?
SPEAKER_00Oh, BW, I'm doing good, man. Getting ready to head to Florida. So uh That's right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're I should say we're recording before Florida week, but it is we're talking about Florida.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this is the bi-week recording, but it'll be out for the Florida week. But uh I'm gonna be gone to uh to Disney all next week, so I probably won't have time to do it. So we're jumping on now, but yeah, really looking forward to it. We can we can recap the AM week and and then talk about the the swamp and all that sort of stuff. And uh, but yeah, uh happy to be here for another week. So uh that's right. Looking forward to it.
SPEAKER_01Well, before we get too far ahead, let's just talk about why we're here in the first place. And that's because Johnny has cystic fibrosis, and we are here to raise money for other people with cystic fibrosis so that they can come up with a cure for that. I think I've heard this several times, but CF stands for cure found, and we want to help help people find that cure by raising money and donating to the cystic fibrosis foundation. And you can help us do that if you go to our website, johnnypacker.net, and you can get on there and order some fresh roasted coffee from High Point Roasters down in New Albany, Mississippi. They'll ship to your door within a week or so. Best coffee you're ever gonna have, and you're supporting us and a good cause at the same time.
SPEAKER_00Yes, indeed. I I'd like to get uh we're our friend uh Joe Burch, and that his name, uh to get back on here sometime to I don't know if he was at the Uncourt Secure. We we weren't able to go this year, but we went last year and met Joe, and uh that popped up on my memories of the day that he gave me a shout-out on his page, and I reached out to him and asked him to come on sometime. He said he'd love to, so we're just gonna work on a date for that. But I would like to get him on to in case he was there to talk about uh talk about the event this year. Uh we we weren't able to make it, but it's it was last week, I believe, in Memphis. And uh yeah, every every money that you donate uh just by buying a bag of coffee uh goes to reach CF Research. And like we say, it's not gonna stop until uh CF stands for cure found. Uh long way to go. But man, we've come a long way since uh since I was born in 1981. You know, I mean it's it's just amazing. Life expenses was 15 years old. And a kid born today with CF life expectancy is you know, 65. Like they're supposed to live normal, normal lives, all because of the um advances in in modern medicine, mainly through uh miracle drug like tricafta. And that's all made through uh uh research dollars. So just buying a bag of coffee is uh is donating to the cause. So uh win-win deal all around supporting a Mississippi company uh in New Albany, Mississippi, and Mississippi based in Mississippi. So uh we're just two uh Mississippi guys doing uh Mississippi things.
SPEAKER_01So uh Johnny, I was thinking about you uh last week. I was up in Gatlinburg and we went to this water park, it's indoor water park, and I was climbing up and down those water slides. Yep, and you know, you got to carry the the raft up on top of some of them. And by the time I got to the top of a couple of them, I was out of breath. And I'm like, Johnny, Johnny climbed up ones way bigger than this, even probably than me, uh, with cystic fibrosis. So that's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_00Um, I'm not able to go with our buddy Juan this year. Me and my mom are going to uh I'll talk about this a little bit uh to Disney next week. But uh me and Juan went uh friend of the show. He he's our L'Oreal Coffee supporter, uh, our school buddy of ours. Uh went to uh Universal the past two years to Halloween Horror Nights. And uh we did the water part volcano bay, and man, I'll never forget I did it last year. I climbed up, man. That sucker's up like 100 feet up in the air, and there's no elevator to get to the top. You have to climb the stairs, man. I climbed the whole entire thing. By the time I got to the top, I about coughed up a lung. I was like, oh my gosh, how am I doing this? But I did it, man. I bit I did it, but there's no way I could have ever done that uh pre-truck after, like, no way at all. A normal person has a hard time doing that. So uh uh all all this is uh saying that is all because of this this drug that's keeping me alive and stable. Uh it's definitely not a cure. If I if I quit doing my treatments, I would fall right back into what I done, what I've what I was before. But it literally is just keeping me at bay to um where I'm able to live my life, and that's all we can ask for. And uh yeah, really amazing. I love water parks and doing stuff like that. So uh, but yeah, it's pretty tiring for a normal person, but especially with someone with CF.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they uh I've been to several water parks with the kids lately, but that one's a good one. It's called Wilderness at the Smokies, and um it's got some cool slides, and you know, I've I've always been kind of chicken when it comes to roller coasters and that kind of stuff. But yeah, I really like the water slides. They don't they the height and all that stuff doesn't bother me.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, it's it's a good spot. Man, my my favorite water park to go to ever when we were kids, man. I'd go to Biloxi and there was a place there called Slippery Sam's, uh, and it was right there off the off the uh 90, right there by the uh across the street from the beach. Man, I went there every summer, it was awesome. You have one of those little maps like you're talking about, and then you ride and walk up this big hill and get on and slide down to the bottom, then go back up and do it again. Man, we did that hundreds of times. It was it was so much fun. Yeah, it was kind of a throwback in there, too.
SPEAKER_01They had a wave pool. Oh, yeah. I hadn't been in a wave pool since Waterland USA days rapids on the reservoir. Y'all folks from Jackson know about those places, man. I used to get dropped off there for kids' summer camp in the summer and spend the whole day there at those things.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah, those are those were fun, fun times, man. Fun times.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so yeah, so I was in Gatlinburg last week during the game, and um we actually were there um several days, and uh on Saturday, we were actually we were staying in Severeville, which is close to Pigeon Forge, and uh we were gonna go into Gatlinburg on Saturday. Um, but Friday night we were going out to dinner, and we start noticing the traffic is horrible, and it's all these little Honda Accord, Honda Civic, all these little tiny uh Mitsubishi eclipses painted purple, yellow, green, uh, orange, big spoilers, uh mufflers, and they sound like weed eaters going up and down the road. And they were backfiring everywhere, and there was thousands of them in Gatlinburg. Um, you could not drive anywhere without seeing those cars, and all the red lights were like backed up. Traffic there is already horrible anyway. Um, and so we didn't end up getting to really do anything, and so we were trying to get back to the cabin, and I was gonna watch the game. And when I got back, it was it was close to the end of the first half, and we were still winning three to nothing, and literally came in on that that play where uh we had stopped them and then they called a penalty on us for pushing out of bounds or something like that, which gave them the first down, and then they were able to score that touchdown, and then it was just all downhill after that.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, you know, at the very beginning, we had a chance. We were we were ready to get go in for a touchdown like that, and and we ended up getting three points out of it, but that would have been cool. I mean, we were right there. Uh, I think a penalty negated it, uh, pushed us back. But uh man, that first half, I mean, we were in the game, that's all you could ask for. And right, it was uh pretty pretty low scoring affair, penalties and all sorts of stuff again. But uh yeah, I mean we we predicted that we were we would lose, and that's exactly what happened. But um I mean, as long as you're as long as we're playing playing a competitive game, that's all you can ask for. But it just kind of got a got out of hand in the second half, and we can figure that figure that would happen, but we kind of knew going in there would be a loss. So not too upset about it. I was a little worried that you know, BW, a few weeks ago you had mentioned uh why Shapin playing in the all corn state game, but then the game he's gonna get hurt. And fluff both well, I mean, when the game was out of hand, not sure why he was in in that particular situation. There was no way we were coming back at that point and he and it got hurt, but thank goodness it doesn't seem like it's uh it's a uh season-ending injury like we thought it was. So yeah, just kind of dump dumped stuff by the coach of staff. I'm not sure why they why they put the players out. I know they're trying to get points and everything, but I mean when the game is out of hand and and you know you got a bye week coming up and just the rest of play. I don't I don't know, but uh anyway, just thank goodness that he did not uh he didn't get uh seasoned injury, so uh season ending injury. But anyway, uh four and two. I mean, I think at the beginning of the season, if you'd ask any Mississippi State fan, uh, would you take a four and two start? I mean, everyone would say yes, especially after last year. So uh yeah, we really probably should be what five and one right now. Tennessee game stings really bad. But hey, man, four and two going into the bye week, can't can't ask for anything. Uh, you know, we got a game coming up, we'll talk about here in a second at Florida. It's a winnable game. A lot of a lot of games on the schedule, I think, in my opinion. If we play like we did against Tennessee or winnable. Uh now some of them are on the road, it's gonna be tough. But man, Texas, Texas, Marsh Manning looks like absolute garbage. Uh Texas not does not look like a team that was last year. Uh, Georgia's even like they're they're good, very good. But I mean, there's really nobody on the team that's unbeatable. Uh, if I had to look at the schedule right now, I'd say Ole Miss is the only team that that looks like a world beater right now that we can't beat. But I mean, this is egg bowl, anything can happen. So uh I do think we can somehow, some way get two more wins. That's that's what that team should shoot for. Uh just get six wins. I think it's available, it's out there. And Levy's gonna get his first SEC win eventually. I just don't know. No win, but uh it's it's coming. So uh just I hope uh fans stay with them and don't jump off the uh bandwagon as our buddy uh Graves always says Packer off the bandwagon, owner off the bandwagon. Well man, it's tough. Like I'm on, I'm riding on, man. But people are gonna be jumping off right and left after, you know. I think you picked that at the beginning of the year. We can win what, like five games and lose a bunch of the road. And yeah, that's that, and that appears to be what's what the what's going on. But uh, but anyway, I do think we can we can write the ship later on. It's just tough playing an SEC on the road, but uh got a big big test ahead of us up in Gainesville next weekend.
SPEAKER_01We do. Graves is off the bandwagon, right? Graves is off the Levy train.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he he's not a fan of Levy.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm still on it, you know, and I think that's part of the deal with Fluff is that Levy just doesn't have quit in him. I mean, right, right. Yeah, he's he's gonna like throw everybody out there until the absolute end, apparently. So um, which you can respect. So I mean that's what won us the Arizona State game, obviously. Could easily um the team, you know, could easily let that guy score the touchdown at the end instead we get the goal on stand and see what happens. So I mean anything can happen, but you know, that one was definitely out of reach.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, that's a cool thing. I do like it because we've seen so many times where when we get the lead, we we get get down in the game, the guys just give up, and this ends up being a blowout, you know, big time blowout. But these guys just seem to keep fighting, and I like that about them. Yeah, and that's gonna pay off, man. Eventually, their their hard work and fighting is gonna pay off, they're gonna get a conference win.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, tell us so we're you know, we can preview the Florida game in a minute, but tell us what your your plans are. You're gonna go down to Disney, you're also gonna go to the game, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so uh man, 20 years ago, uh I was getting ready to graduate college, and around that time, a lot of my friends uh, you know, were graduating college and moving off to separate parts of the world doing their own thing. And and you know, I'm battling CF and I couldn't really couldn't really do anything like that. And at the time, there were some recruiters on the campus at Mississippi State uh looking for uh people to do an internship at Disney as part of the Disney College program. So I thought about it, I was like, man, I wonder if I could do this because man, Orlando from Jackson to Orlando is only a two-hour flight by uh two-hour flight. So it's the same distance as driving to Star Wars. So I was like, man, if I got sick or something and it's not like I'm on the other side of the country, it could I could I could do it. And uh so I interviewed and I got I got it, I got it. They accepted me. So I moved down there, uh drove down there the week of Hurricane Katrina. Uh I was heading towards the Gulf. Well, Katrina, everybody was coming back this way, so pretty crazy. Did not think that uh Katrina was gonna be as bad as it was, and when we were right there, so I get down there the uh I left on a Friday afternoon, drove down, spent the night in a nice bill or somewhere like that, and got to Orlando the next day, went through orientation. I was in the orientation on Monday when Hurricane Katrina hit, and uh man, I stayed down there uh from August of 05 to January of 06. So spent the 2005 fall down working at Disney in Orlando, and I worked at Hollywood Studios at a traction called One Man's Dream, which is a self-guided walkthrough of Walt Disney's life. Did the theater spill, hello, welcome to the Walt Disney Theater, police electorate, all that. And uh did that and answered questions throughout the exhibit, and it was kind of a monotonous job, same thing over and over, but worked with people from all over the world, which was pretty cool. Uh uh snowbirds, you know, older people who retired, high school students, uh, all sorts of people uh got to work with, which was really neat. Uh, really enjoyed that. I was the with CF, you know, BW, I always have to be very careful about uh living arrangements, being with other people and sickness and all that sort of stuff. So I've always lived on my own uh for that particular reason. And uh when I went down there, you have uh you have um they it's kind of like college pretty much. Uh you have roommates and in the room, you have two bed uh in the room, you've got uh you can have four roommates and all sorts of stuff. So I told them I was like, look, I I have CF, I have to watch myself uh with being around other people in sickness and all that. Can I have my own room? And they were like, Well, you'll we'll have to uh charge you for that extra bed. Uh and there's only one place that that you can stay that's called the Commons apartment. I was like, that's fine. Uh not coming down here to make money just for an experience. And so I go to the Commons apartment. It's the only, it's the international apartment complex. I'm the only American in the entire complex. So I mean, there's I'm no one speaks English in the apartment complex. So I go to the front desk and uh and the lady would already be like, Oh, it's John, our our favorite American. Well, yeah, you're only American. And uh it was uh it was a lot of fun, great experience. Um went by really fast. I got asked to stay on afterwards because uh I guess they liked me so much, but uh but um I ended up coming back and getting working at the hospital. And actually, I got the job working at the hospital right after college, and they saved the job for me for me to do this Disney thing. So uh it was uh it was a lot of fun. Uh, but man, it's been 20 years, pretty crazy. I went after 10 years to celebrate uh down there. And when I went, I remember them telling me that they were they was possibly closing one man's dream. Um, and it never did close. Thank goodness. So I'm look really looking forward to going back uh to that and seeing seeing all the different experiences and and um uh everything see what's everything's changed. I haven't been in a long time. So look forward to that. And I timed it to where uh the Florida game is gonna be that same weekend. So I'm gonna get to drive on up to Gainesville and go to the game. I've been to been to the swamp quite a few times. Uh I was there the last time State played there, which was the last time Mississippi State won down there. 10 to 7. I think I mentioned this last time. You know, uh, we ran the ball non-stop. It was Mullins first second year, and uh Chris Ralph, Vic Ballard just ran the ball over and over, wasted time on the uh on the time and time of possession, held the ball up, just just shortened the game out and got the win. So awesome being down there for that. I mean, I was down there in 01 uh and it was uh we lost 52 nothing, it was 28 nothing into the first quarter. So I was seeing us get blown out down there, seeing us win. I've been down there for other games with when State didn't play. Uh matter of fact, my first week working at Disney, uh, I had the Saturday off, and that was when the Florida, Tennessee game was a big thing. So I drove up to Gainesville myself and and didn't have didn't know anybody, didn't do anything, didn't know anybody, didn't know a way to get tickets or anything. I just parked, walked by, someone asked if I need a ticket. I said yes. Talked to them. That lo and behold, they're from they're from Mississippi. And uh they invited me to their tailgate and got to hang out, and it was a uh Florida, Tennessee game. So that was a good game. And and then our buddy Matt Wiley used to live down there when his wife was in when in law school. So I went down there a few times to stay with them. And but we went to a bunch of game from the swamps. So it's it's probably my favorite place. That and Tiger Stadium, probably my two favorite uh SEC stadiums outside of Mississippi State, and uh a whole lot of fun. Um, but I haven't been down there in in quite a while, so looking forward to that. And uh, and then doing Mickey's Not So Scary, uh, that's pretty cool. I always enjoyed doing that. Um, it's the Halloween uh uh thing at Disney. So um really looking forward. I'm gonna be down there all next week. You went recently, BW. Tell me about about what what what Disney's like now.
SPEAKER_01I went in May and it was um the one man's dream was still there. So cool. I walked I walked past it, but you know, I mean, you know how it is when you go to a theme park, yeah, kids. When you go with other people, kids are like, we gotta do this, we gotta do this. And there's only so much time, and there's you know, it's an hour here. And the the thing I really don't like about it now is that you have to do the lightning lane. Um, so if you don't want to wait in line, you got to pay for the lightning lane. And it's not like the fast pass where you just go in there and get it. You have to preserve a time, and so you have you know an hour window of time to ride this ride, and then then you have another one picked, and so you basically end up like scheduling out your whole day. And so you're like, oh, you know, we can't stop over here uh for more than 10 minutes because we got to be at this ride by 3:30. And so you end up kind of like missing out on just wandering around and just like seeing things, and and that's what I really hate about it. Like, it's just too crowded, they let too many people in. If they would just just curb the number of people they allow to buy tickets each day and make it to where the lines aren't so long and um make it more enjoyable, it it'd be really really cool.
SPEAKER_00But they're not do fast pass at all anymore.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's you gotta buy, no, you gotta buy the lightning lane. So um, and depending on what it is, there's two different kinds. There's a multi-pass, which you you can do three rides, and then the prem the premium rides um that are like the most popular ones, um, like Tron and Guardians of Galaxy, they're single ones. So you can only you have to buy it separate. So it's a whole thing. I mean, it's like you know, I said I wasn't gonna figure it out, and then you end up having to figure it out, but you know, you you have to like get an encyclopedia to figure out how it all works before you go. Um it takes a little bit of the fun out of it. I mean, it's still a blast, but uh it's and they're never gonna they I just saw they just raised prices again for next year, so they're never gonna like you know cut back on how many people are going in the parks. So yeah, I'm trying to think, you know, if it's it's uh you said it's been 10 years since you've been down there. Yeah, yeah. So you haven't done any of the Star Wars stuff at the uh Hollywood Studios. The Star Wars stuff is really cool. Um you gotta do the Rise of the Resistance ride. Um, the um and the toy the Toy Story uh area is really neat. Um, the slinky dog ride. I mean, it looks just like the set of the toy story. And then if you do Animal Kingdom, the Avatar is really cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's what I'm really looking forward to. That one, yeah.
SPEAKER_01The flight of passage. Uh that one's worth if you buy the lightning lane deal, definitely get it for that. That thing is is really cool.
SPEAKER_00Cool. Well, I I went ahead and pretty crazy to to reserve your you know to plan your trip around food, but man, I did. I I went ahead and reserved reserved all my meals yesterday, actually. Where are you gonna go eat? Uh man, I'm going a lot of places I've I've been before, but um, you know, just uh doing that at Hollywood. I'm doing the 50s prime time. You remember here?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that tastes good.
SPEAKER_00I like that. And uh and then uh let's see, where else am I uh uh meals plans? Um uh beaches and cream is my one of my favorite ice cream places. Doing that. Um and man, I haven't been to this place at Epcot since 1994, which was the first time I went to Disney. I remember seeing it on an episode of Full House. It's called uh Coral Coral Reef. So I got yeah, I got a reservation there, so looking forward to eating back of that. So yeah, it's pretty crazy. So I planned to planned all that. So now I gotta work on the uh on the tickets and everything. But now, can do you need to get your tickets beforehand, or or can you get it there? What did y'all do?
SPEAKER_01Uh you need to go ahead and get them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's my figure.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. The the avatar area has a place, um, guys, something canteen. It's really good. Um, it was one of the best meals I had there. It's a quick service deal. You just walk up to, you don't have to reservation. Um, but they have all these kind of like funny looking foods that look like it's off another planet. But even though it's like a piece of steak, you know, the way they cut it looks kind of funny. And um, they put those little uh what are those things? Boba boba balls like in in there, like it's pretty neat.
SPEAKER_00Awesome. Yeah, looking forward to doing that. And then uh yeah, so it's gonna be a it's gonna be a full uh full week. So uh, but yeah, man, time flies. 20 years, pretty hard to believe. I did not think heck, I didn't even think I'd be alive in 20 years when I was working in. Here we are two decades later. It's just time flies, really amazing. Um now have you ever been to have you ever been to a game at the swamp, BW? I can't remember. Uh I never have.
SPEAKER_01I've driven through Gainesville, but never never been through a game there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it like I said, it's it's amazing that I think now with the schedule, we have nine SC teams just gonna keep this from happening. But I mean, we have not played at Gainesville since 2010. That's crazy that it's been 15 years since we played down there. I mean, we played Georgia, I think at Georgia like five times or something like that, since in the past 10 years. So uh I think that's why they're the scheduling is is they're changing that up for stuff like that happening. But um, but yeah, it's uh like I said, I haven't been down there 10 years. I haven't been down there since they started doing the uh don't stop, uh not don't stop believing, uh won't back down, which is you know the fourth quarter song, Tom Petty. So I'm anxious to see that. But uh yeah, it's uh it's a lot of fun. But but talking about the game, BW, I think uh man, I I've I've been I've been thinking about this, like uh if I was gonna predict us to win or not, but man, I just can't I can't get on board with a win. Uh SEC game on the road. I do think it's a winnable game. I do think we have a chance to win. But man, that that environment, I know Florida's not as good as they were. That environment is really tough. And uh, man, I just don't I don't see it happening. I think we drop another one. But uh, but the good thing about it is, um, like I said earlier in the show that we do, I do think we have a chance to get SEC win this year. And I think it's gonna come against Arkansas, but I do think uh I do think Florida game, I think we'll play good. It won't, I don't think it'll be like it was in 01 when it was 28 to nothing into the first quarter and we got beat 52 to nothing. Uh of course that was probably our revenge game from us beating them, you know, our our first home game as a freshman. Yeah uh that was probably a revenge game for Florida, but uh I I do think uh I do think it'll be a closer game. But man, if we could do like I said, like we did last time when we won down there, you just run the ball, run the ball, fluff it, if fluff can play or booth and and take take control of possessions, don't let them have the ball and just uh shorten the game down and just do just like we did in 2010, then I think we have a shot. Um, because we we just dominated the run game. It depends on if they I mean if we can run the ball like we did in Tennessee and control the clock, shoot, no reason why we can't win the game, but I think that crowd and that atmosphere might be a little bit too much for us, kind of like AM. But um, but yeah, so if I'm picking the score of BW, I'm gonna say something like uh probably uh 28, uh 13, something like that. I think Florida will win.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Well, let me ask you this first. So so you think we get to six wins? So if we get one on Arkansas, who else do we get it from? Uh you had to say today.
SPEAKER_00That's gonna be tough, man. I think we get Arkansas. I think that's five. Uh, you know, I'll say all the games are winnable, all right? So Texas, uh, they're they're not showing their anything, but uh Georgia, those those are gonna be really tough games. Uh Missouri, I just don't know what to think about Missouri. Every year, I think I think they're not great, and then they do really good, and then they but they're not good enough. So uh that would be the one I would probably pick, Missouri, but it's on the road. So I just don't know about that. And the egg ball, man, if you had to tell me right now, I mean, I think all miss is gonna win now, but come November, you know, you never know. Um, but and it's the egg ball, anything can happen. So if I had to choose, I would say Missouri or or All Mess, uh that that comes a six win from one of those teams. But with saying that, if Texas plays bad, and that we got that home for homecoming, we have a shot there, but uh Arkansas for sure, and that six six wins can be a mystery, man. I don't know who it's gonna be. What are your thoughts?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, um I hate we don't we're doing this before this weekend, so we don't know the results of this, but I was listening to Heydad and Falk talk about this, and I agree with them about if if if uh Florida will go down to AM and just get beat, beat up, like up and down the field, you know, lose by three touchdowns, almost try to demoralize them a little bit, make them just, you know, all that momentum they thought they had from beating Texas, like take that out from under them, put a little doubt in them, um, you know, get people upset about Napier again. Um, and we go down there and you know, like you said, if we can run the ball on them, yeah, get that first possession, run it down their throat, score a touchdown, seven-nothing, you know, 80-yard drive, 80% of that's running. Um and if we can, you know, get that momentum early of the game, I think we have a chance. But if it's a close game at AM and Florida playing with a lot of confidence, still crowd is into the game still, and and right, you know, for whatever reason we can't we can't get the offense going like we could couldn't against AM too much. Uh I think it it ends up kind of like what you what you're saying. Um but I I'm gonna be optimistic. I think I think we can do it. Um I think it will be a a lower scoring game unless we can figure out a way to uh protect Shapin, give him some more time in the pocket so he can make some of these deep throws. Um I I think maybe hopefully we get Reese back next week and then uh we get Isaac Smith back. Hopefully, uh don't know about Fluff, but I think I think Booth and Um Gayton. Um I think they're good. Yeah, so I think you know we we can still do it. Um, so I'm gonna say we win it 24-21. Comes down to the wire.
SPEAKER_00Nice. I hope so, man. I hope so. That'd be awesome to witness that in person, man. But uh, I don't know. We'll we'll see what happens. But man, you know, everyone's giving Shapin a hard time for his play. But man, I he's getting killed out there. Losing to Albert Reese, people don't realize. And the other we have two offensive linemen bang d Albert Reese is a beast, man. He's huge and and he's protecting Shapin. So without that, man, I mean, he's got no time to throw the ball. So I mean, it's not all on him.
SPEAKER_01I mean, yeah, he makes good, but um, but he holds it a little bit too long, but yeah, but a lot of those sacks he's taken, he's been hitting the back. I mean, he's he didn't know it was coming.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Yeah, so we need we need Albert Reese back desperately, man. Like really bad. We need to pump in some more of that Johnny Packer coffee, man. That's right. If that'll get him back, get him back to the book.
SPEAKER_01I'll see his mom's the one that messaged me about it. I'll uh I'll see if I can find that message from her and see if he wants some more. Uh or maybe you can drop some off before you go out of town, yeah. And put some at his dorm.
SPEAKER_00You got some down there. That'd be awesome. But uh, yeah, I think uh I mean people just give it that's what that's the price you get to be pay when you're the quarterback of the SEC team, but uh it's but uh um it's not all on him. I mean he makes some errors, but but uh yeah, once we get uh Reese back, I think you'll see a lot of difference in this player shaping and the line blocking. But uh but regardless, man, we're like I keep saying, man, we're we're we're hanging in there, we're not giving up, we're in games. That's all we can ask for right now. I mean, we're sitting at two and ten last year, so lots of improvement this year. It just kind of stinks that old miss is just number four in the nation with a backup quarterback who's undefeated, doing awesome.
SPEAKER_01How does that happen? I mean, he I mean, nobody knows who this guy is, and comes on. I mean, Kiffen doesn't even think he's good enough to start the beginning of the year, and it's like the Johnny Moxon thing, you know, the varsity blues. It's like just come off the bench and just be a Heisman trophy winner all of a sudden.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, yeah, it's pretty crazy. Have you heard the Trinidad songs and all that sort of stuff? And then and then Lane Kiffin said yesterday that Trinidad's not he's not from an island, he's never been on an island, he's he didn't even think he's ever been to the ocean before. Pretty pretty funny.
SPEAKER_01No, I didn't hear that.
SPEAKER_00You'll have to listen to the song, it's pretty funny. Yeah, it's that Trinidad uh country, you know, the flags out and all that sort of stuff. But uh yeah, so I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how everything plays out, but I'm just happy where we're where we're sitting right now. Four and two, just it gives us a chance to get to a bowl. That's all we can cheat for. So that's right. We'll back it. Hopefully, when I get back from Florida, we'll we'll I'll bring bring a bring a win back. I'm looking, I am also looking for looking for, I think I'm gonna try to eat this place called Satchels Pizza. Have you ever heard of that?
SPEAKER_01I was gonna ask you about that pizza place, isn't that the one that's got all the VW buses and all that there?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, me and Wally and uh John Pitts ate there one time actually when we went to visit Matt and uh it caught on fire a few years ago, but I googled it and that is still there. So I'm gonna try to uh try to find that when I when I get there. Uh I'm gonna try to stop by the Capstic house too while I'm down there so my mom can meet the Cap Sick House Mom. BW, I thought of a great idea. If you know anybody that we can promote this to, would this not be a cool TV show? House moms of the SEC. Oh man, a reality TV show. That would be insane. Yeah, they do Housewives at Beverly Hills. Why not do House Mothers of the SEC? That would be insane. So, anyway, if we have time, we're gonna stop by there to meet the house mom there and see see what she's like. But uh uh I'm gonna try to eat at the pizza place. That was a really cool cool place. But uh yeah, man, really looking forward to it. Can't can't wait. And should be uh should be a fun trip.
SPEAKER_01Yes, sir. We all y'all enjoy it and bring back victory.
SPEAKER_00I hope so, man. Hope so.
SPEAKER_01All right, thank you all for listening. Johnnypacker.net, get some fresh coffee, support us.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, thank y'all so much. Take care.
SPEAKER_01All right, bye bye.
