Speaker 1:

Touch your dreams. It's so important that you touch your dreams because what that does in your life. think about it this way. Think of someone who's a professional athlete right now. Pick anybody that you admire LeBron James, or, you know, aaron Judge in baseball, or a great golfer like Brooks Kepke, whoever it might be. Pick the sport.

Speaker 1:

One of the things they had the benefit of is playing that sport as a young boy, or Serena Williams in tennis, right or as a young girl.

Speaker 1:

And what happens is they become familiar in those environments And so as they go through the ranks and climb and acquire more and more talents and skills, they believe they belong there.

Speaker 1:

Because they've been on a tennis court a thousand times, they've been on a golf course a thousand times, they've been on a baseball dime a thousand times, or a basketball court. So they didn't have to worry about whether they belonged or whether they touched the dream. They touched every day as they caught a ball, hit it, threw it, dunked it right, hit a driver. So they actually, over time, spent time in their dream And as they acquired more talents and skills, it naturally perpetuated them. But most of us, the career we're in or the mansion we want to get to, or the home we want or the relationship we want or the emotions we want to feel. We haven't had the benefit of spending time in those environments. And because we haven't had any time in those environments, even if we acquire the skills and the talents and the opportunities to get there, if we don't believe we belong there or we're not familiar with it, we don't end up there.

Speaker 3:

What a good one there by Ed Millet Touch Your Dreams. That is so powerful. I listened to his podcast episode recently where he goes into more depth about what touching your dreams really means. I love this concept so much that I taught it most recently on my business coaching call. We've got a mastermind group that meets every week And I talked about the importance of touching your dreams, what I got from the episode.

Speaker 3:

But then, oddly enough, how the universe works, i spent some time intensely journaling last week about what does ideal look like for me and what do I really want my life to look like. I've gone through several renditions of this and I talk about my goals, bored on here a lot, and what I want the year to look like. But really I'm becoming more and more obsessed with this concept of lifestyle design that we can create the ideal life that we want, not just set out the goals that we want to accomplish for the year and build the systems to accomplish them. But what do you really want life to look like? And as I was thinking through it, i had an opportunity to touch my dream last week. So that's why this episode is focused on touching your dreams, what that really means and how you can put that into practice for yourself. Touching your dreams, in my view, simply means that you are taking a bite out of what you want your future life to look like. You're taking a taste of what you envision to be ideal, and I believe, before we can touch our dream, the first thing that we need to do is understand what does ideal look like and get extremely granular with this. This is something that I do with anybody that I work with, with all of the clients that I've had over the years with my systems program.

Speaker 3:

The one of the first questions that I ask is what does ideal look like? And not just what does ideal today look like, but what does ideal for your life look like? What do your mornings look like? What does your afternoon look like? What does your future family look like? What does your fitness look like? Everything, what does ideal really look like? And spend time journaling about that or ruminating on it wherever your most productive thinking occurs or where your most uninterrupted thinking occurs. Ask yourself that question What does ideal look like, and from there, even what does? once you figure out what does ideal look like, how do you wanna make an impact, or what would success look like once I'm in this ideal picture Don't overthink this, by the way.

Speaker 3:

There's no one right way to do this. What's ideal to you at your mind and your heart is what is ideal to you, and once you think about it, there's multiple renditions, there's not. You write it down, you set it in stone, that's it. And now I've got to pressure myself to make this thing happen. But think through it and as you start putting things on paper, then you start looking at it and you're like, oh yeah, maybe that is ideal, or you know what? it gives you the next best thought as to what ideal really means.

Speaker 3:

Now, this thing I wrote down. I thought it was this, but now that I'm looking at it on paper, it's actually a little bit different. It's a slight deviation from that, but that original thought and that practice and that question is what helped you get there. Experts estimate that we have 50,000 to 80,000 thoughts per day, which means that our minds are always circulating with thoughts, external stimuli. That's why it's so important to Pose these questions to yourself, but then write them down. So what I'm gonna do is actually share the first page of the journal that I wrote, so you guys can see and experience what this might look like for you and also to shed some light on the concept in application.

Speaker 3:

I believe sometimes on podcasts and things that we learn about, we'll hear, we hear the the concept touch your dreams and then sometimes myself included people learn best when You then get to know. Well, what does that look like for you? or show me how to do it So at least I can understand or think or hear or feel What I can do, if I'm gonna go put this on paper. So here's what I wrote down What's future Ryan's lifestyle design look like, pondering as I'm taking two days after in the week and feeling more and more of a pull and calling out of the Corporate world in the future. I love corporate and I'm grateful for it, but do not believe it's tied to my destiny. I love the concept in practice of lifestyle design.

Speaker 3:

Why don't we all look at life and ask How do I want to create my life? What does my ideal day in life look like? Are those who get jobs and work for four decades and then retire really living their version of ideal? Maybe, but if you ask them to create their version of ideal, would it match current reality? don't get me wrong ideal and achieving it must be backed by discipline, consistency, do-overs, opportunity, learning and hard frickin work. I don't believe you can wish your way into dreams, into ideal, maybe temporarily, but that's why a lot of lottery winners go broke. They didn't put in the work to get what they have. What does my version of ideal look like and am I on track to create it From the start?

Speaker 3:

ideal looks like I'm beating the Sun or waking with the Sun every day and prioritizing movement and learning. I deal feels like I'm intentional about soaking in something constructive, whether it be a book, article, podcast, meditation or even silence. Silence at times is constructive. Ideal feels like a good sweat, nice run, group workout, intentional movement and stretching, promoting blood, promoting blood flow. Ideal feels like not being tied to an office space that I have to be at and Having a slower morning to be grounded and enjoy the start of the day, no meetings before 9 am. So I have dedicated thinking time and space to audit myself, the businesses, connect with family, friends and loved ones and feeling amazing about it. My days will be structured in a manner that gives me a few working blocks, travel, dependent of course, continuing on ideal and what I'll be doing during the day. It'll be a mix between recording podcast with amazing people, filming content for my online courses and mastermind groups, consulting businesses and coaching clients. So that's a preview of What it means, and I wrote down several pages and and continuing to write down several pages.

Speaker 3:

But that is what ideal looks like and touching my dream. So last week I took the day before the 4th of July off, so I had two days off during the week and on that first day, that Monday, i went to a group workout with this group that I really enjoy going to and Can't make it as much as I would like to, just given how my Corporate schedule is structured and again, i'm very thankful for my corporate role but with that this group of people, they work out and then typically some of them will go do some additional work after, or Now go grab breakfast and Any time that I get to do that, and then go get breakfast or connect with someone after. That's me touching my dream, because I'm getting that early morning group workout with the Sun, and then I'm not feeling rushed, i'm getting a time to Connect with someone, connect with people, have genuine conversations and then go about my day, come home and and be ready to attack the day, not feeling like, okay, got to get to this next meeting now and This day in particular, i not only got to do the group workout but then came home, worked on some future course offerings and content offerings that y'all will be seeing next month for my mastermind and unshakable discipline course more to come there but I got to work on that and those two days I got to touch my dream and live in it that this is eventually what my every day, or almost every day, is going to look like. And it felt so special to me. And anytime that I'm intentional about touching my dream which, again, you guys heard a little preview of it's this deeper feeling that I get.

Speaker 3:

It's not just me going on a run right now. It's me going on a run and then taking time to be with somebody. It's me going to a group workout and then taking time to go to breakfast or go jump in a cold plunge with a group of people, because that's what they do sometimes. That's touching my dream. So there's such a deeper connection beyond the intentional action that's being taken and, in addition to that, what touching my dream looks like is anytime that I take a day off to go travel somewhere, because my dream isn't tied to one destination. I'm getting the opportunity to meet people all over the world now and connect with incredible people and have amazing conversations, getting ready to go to Salt Lake City in a few weeks to go compete in a marathon. And while I'm there, i'm getting interviewed on a podcast by the first woman to summit the seven second Peaks. Who's been on this podcast? Jen Drummond. Jen is somebody that I originally connected with on LinkedIn, touching my dream, connecting and meeting amazing people, creating amazing conversations, and now get to go run a marathon and sit across the table from this woman that I admire and look up to so much.

Speaker 3:

And I say these things to with the intent to inspire you all that, whatever it is that's ideal for you, whatever it is that your dream is, you absolutely can touch it and you absolutely can experience it, and the only thing that can possibly stop you from it is you. Some of you all know my backstory and if you looked at me on paper ten years ago, you wouldn't believe that touching the dream would be possible for me, or a little longer than a little more than ten years ago, you wouldn't believe it, but with the the right mind, the right environment, the right people. Your dreams are closer than they think and they are in reach, and they are meant to be touched, they're meant to be experienced, and this, this dream that I've just been having as an appetizer, marked my words. It's slowly becoming the entree, and I want that to be the case for each of you. Touch your dreams and win today. Thanks so much for tuning in You.
