Members of the Coffee, Cars and Veterans organization gather April 20 with U.S. Marine veteran Patrick Kelly at AutoZone in Floresville, adjacent to the Canary Islanders Cemetery, for a fundraiser to help Kelly participate in the We Are Project Hero 2024 Texas Challenge, a ride of almost 300 miles set for May 6-11 from San Antonio to Fort Worth. The event helps raise awareness for veterans and first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The fundraiser Saturday included a car show, along with hamburger and hot dog plate sales.
