Cyberattack affects Connally Memorial's invoicing, cash flow

Connally Memorial Medical Center is transferring its contract for medical billing clearinghouse services from Change Healthcare to a different clearinghouse, due to a cyberattack which has temporarily interrupted the invoicing capabilities of the hospital’s clinic system, according to Connally Memorial CEO Bob Gillespie. Medical billing clearinghouses are contractors who act as a go-between for healthcare providers and insurance companies to streamline the insurance claim process. A clearinghouse assesses medical claims and checks for errors before submitting them to insurance for payment.
