Health alert issued for pork chorizo sold in H-E-B

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for 12-ounce packages of raw chorizo that were distributed to H-E-B grocery stores in Texas. The 12-ounce packages in question were sold in H-E-B under the label “Lean Apco Brand Meats All Natural Premium Chorizo,” with a best-by date of 5/12/24. The product also has “EST. 602” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
